Default Double Standards Nonsense...

In the Catty thread yesterday, I called Farrah a "pink taco". I thought I was within the thread guide lines of what one could say to another member but I was apparently wrong. It seems that my use of words was misconstrued as a racist remark. I am not a racist nor have or will I ever be. I think that what I was saying was taken way out of context and in no way was I trying to be racist towards Farrah. I apologized to her last night and I apologize to everyone on the board that I may have offended. Since I've been on this board, I've seen members calling each other HOs and other sexual degrading things. But it's all in fun right...I say something along those lines all in fun and I get blasted for it...how hypocritical that is to me.

"shove things in your mouth"

"upright, she sucks and swallows with a powerful effect"

"trailer park tramp" - could that be racist

"Ancient Crack Whore"

"giz encrusted woman of the night!"

"puss filled festering pussy blister" - my favorite

"'lets probe the hole' on yourself with the rectal thermometer"

Yea, I can really see how saying "pink taco" is such a tasteless remark compared to those things that were said...unbelievable.

It's interesting to me how some of you call yourselves feminist and act in the manner that you do. Somehow I don't think most feminist or non-feminist would approve of this type of behavior but I'm a male so what do I know.

I was in Vegas this past year and visited the Hardrock Cafe Casino where I came upon the "Pink Taco" bar. The bar was filled up with people, mostly women around the age of 24-30. Who would have thought that a place with such a sexual racist degrading name would be filled up with women as well as a line of women waiting to get in. And these women that I saw were probably lawyers, doctors, social workers, engineers, scientist, etc...all hanging out and having fun in a place basically called "PUSSY"...how ironic.

Well, continue on with your sexual degrading name calling because it's all in fun right.

It's not hypocritical in any way. The majority of us here are all very good friends of 2+ years. What we say has some old meaning to it from a past chat etc. or we know it's all in good fun, cuz that's just how we are to each other. When someone new comes in and says something, it's very easy to wonder if they meant what they actually said or not...since we don't know the person, we tell if they're joking or not and it'll usually get taken as an insult instead, especially when it's purposely aimed at that person. It's very easy for people to just have a miscommunication...one person means one thing...it comes out one way. It happens all the time *shrugs*

I dont have a damn clue what a pink taco is lmao, but i'd be thoroughly confused and i'd think it was a rude remark just because it's weird as hell and makes no sense lol. oh and being feminist doesn't mean you can't still horse around with people using whatever remarks you want to.

The person I made the comment to invited me to this board and I thought that I could joke with them but apparently not because I don't have enough friendship years behind my belt. If someone new comes on the board and makes a comment or what have you, why not just ask the person if they were joking by what was said...communication people. Apparently horsing around is ok but you can't just use any remarks you want to.

That's up to the person, I'm not gonna tell them what to do lol. Maybe the comment just shouldn't have been said at all...or atleast explained or something that hinted at it being a joke? That's never hard to do either.

And I wouldn't know, I only know the people in the group I'm in lol, and was referring to my and their time knowing Farrie, I have no knowledge of everyone else. Yeah you can, this is a free country, you can say whatever you damn well please...the social consequences for it however differe where ever you are. Some people see the joke, others don't, just how it is lol.

Let me explain... notice how most of the things flying around that thread came from a woman [with an exception to Brandon... who really is one of the gang and has been around farrah longer than i have, lol]

It's one thing for a woman to call another woman a bitch... but it takes an entirely different derogatory meaning when a man calls a woman a bitch.

I can call Farrah a bitch[and many other insulting nouns] up and down.... but she and i BOTH know I'm one to bullshit and my calling HER a bitch will ALWAYS imply that I'M a bitch too [because i rarely call her a bitch anyways, lol, and im usually referring to RP behaviour, in which case, im as guilty of being a RP bitch as any.]

Please, PLEASE for your OWN sake do NOT under any circumstance get ME started on Double standard HORSESHIT because I for one, could go tit for tat with you on this kind of thing.

The person who started the thread said it was all joking. I thought that by posting in the thread it meant you were joking...this is starting to seem so pointless to me

The derogatory meaning has a lot to do with the tone in which it was said...a woman can be just as degrogatory by calling another woman a "B"...come on now let's not sugar cake this too much...I keep reading that people call other people insulting things but the other person knows its all in fun. I can't imagine that Farrah honestly thought I was seriously trying to insult her in an unjokingly way.

Okay.. I am ending this topic, just because this isn't to discuss Double Standards, it is to bring to the forefront a problem you are having with another member.. That should be taken to Private Messages and not on the boards for everyone to add their two cents. Obviously the comment hurt Spellbinder's feelings and that is something you need to take up with her, and not other members of this board.. Thank You and Have a Nice Day

Exclamation actually

i would like to add something.

"pink taco" is extremely derogatory to women (especially white women) and I KNEW what it meant as soon as i saw it. THAT is what i took offense to. SOMETHINGS just shouldnt be said...much less by a man to a woman.

i kept my extreme displeasure off of the boards to prevent a thread like THIS from happening, but since it has...and its pretty obvious to figure out who it was directed towards...allow me to say this:

FtpIt, i was EXTREMELY OFFENDED by that "term" given its meaning to women...and if you were going to joke with me..you couldve chosen something else. If you cant understand that, then you do not need to participate in "Catty Comments."

Thats all i have to say about it on the board. the rest , you know, is private.

I'd like to have a say in this since I'm the one who created the thread. I did not intend for anyone to be offended by the comments made by the posters within the thread. Therefore I apologize for creating such a thread.

I've known Farrah for years, so she and I have a great friendship where we can joke with the other with catty insults. I've only read this thread, I was hardly on last night due to my job.

I probably should have made some sort of rule, but I wasn't aware the thread would get out of hand. So if the Mods wanna close it, they can if they have not done so.

But to FtpIt, I have to say he was only joking and he would never insult you Farrah. I know you're insulted but he was just following the thread. But that's just my thoughts, I'm not siding with anyone. I'm openly speaking my peace here.

Like every woman on this earth, I have a bitch switch, so don't flip it.
