Alright...with Desperate Housewives coming on tonight (Every sunday night on ABC at 9 pm EST) I thought I would create an official discussion thread.

Lets talk about EVERYTHING to do with the goings on at Wisteria Lane from the Housewives and their dimwitted husbands/boyfriends...to the backstabbing, murder and self absorbtion that seems to run rampant through the neighborhood.

I'm loving this show. With the end of a lot of popular shows its great to have something that is worthy of filling in the space they left. I've watched 3 episodes so far and they've kept me hooked on to the show.

this show is wonderful. i was instantly hooked when i watched it. (i actually MISSED the first episode but caught the second). it pushes the boundaries and in today's FCC obsessed media with all this "moral , neo conservative" crap...its good to have a show that pushes people's buttons.

Bree is of course my favourite character...played flawlessly by Marcia Cross (who was on Melrose Place). all the women are so unique and have their quirky trademarks.

I like the fact that underneath all the drama that each of the housewives has..they are united by the mystery of why their friend killed herself.

I think my LEAST favorite is Susan...and of COURSE she(Teri Hatcher) had to be the one to win the golden globe for best actress in a comedy:rolleyes:

lol. I'm noticing that the show was advertised around Terri Hatcher a lot in the UK. The majority of the adverts had her in them, even the shortened advert was the part with Terri in it. It could possibly be because she is more well known due to her part in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

I don't mind Susan too much, she's slightly whiney but i guess that's what her character requires. I've not managed to form an opinion of who my favourite character is just yet, maybe give it a few more episodes and see who I like.

I feel sorry for Bree, she's trying to be this perfect 'Stepford' wife and her husband just doesn't seem to understand her.

yes i noticed too that around here...the billboards for Desperate Housewives had Terri Hatcher as the center of it all..but if you watch the show, Lynette and Bree get more screen time than she does.

Terri Hatcher isnt the only "well known" actress on the show, Marcia Cross has been a television goddess since the 80's when she starred on the soap "one Life to live" , she then went on to become even MORE popular on "Melrose Place" (which was on the air at the same time as Lois & Clark AND it outlasted L&C), she appeared on "Seinfeld" and "King of Queens" several times as well. (I'm a big fan of Marcia's lol:D ) Nicolette Sheriden(Eadie) was on "Knots Landing" a really popular night time soap of the late 80's and 90's.

In regards to developments on the show....Im guessing that Lynette's young, voluptuous nanny (Marla Sokoff from "the Practice") is gone now...:( since her husband (who was also on Melrose Place) couldnt keep his eyes off her rack.
I think Bree's husband was a jackass from the start. he's a middle aged balding man..who didnt appreciate his wife...and now she's showing him that she doesnt need him. I really proud of her resolve to kick him to the curb LOL...now he's starting to see what a good thing he lost. Bree's son needs his ass kicked one good time too.

Mrs Huber's sister seems like she's going to stick around for a while....i was so surprised when Mrs.Huber got killed....when he hit her with the blender ..i was just like WTF:eek: ...i rather liked that manipulative , nosey woman LOL!

I am. I love this show....I actually didn't think it was going to be that good, so I didn't watch the first episode. Then my mother told me it was fabulous...but I was so caught up in other things that I hadn't watched it. But I finally sat down after missing a few episodes and watched it and instantly fell in love. It's like the married woman's version of Sex and the City.

My favorite Character is Bree. I just love her Stepford Wives persona. And Marica plays her soo well. I love it. :) I also really like Gabriella. She's funny as hell. And I disagree, I like Susan. I think she's cute. :)

 Susan MIGHT be cute if she got rid of the CROWS FEET under her eyes :hehe:

Bree is fantastic. You think she is "the stepford wife" BUT she prooves she's a ballbuster..and she does it in a very prim stylish way. that girl is fantastic.

Lynette is pretty damn funny herself...its too bad she got rid of her nanny...that was an interesting dynamic in that home while she was there.

Gabrielle...i dont know...she's very cute yes..but she's definately a trophy wife..and now she's been forced to try to fend for herself.

it looks like Bree has a stalker in the making on her hands and she doesnt even know it. itll be quite interesting to see how this plays out for her..especially since it looks like she and Rex might reconcile after all.

Lol, i like this show too. My mom introduced it to me when i was in town because she had heard good things about it from some of her friends. It was an episode with a plumber and I was laughing near in tears. I haven't seen an entire episode but i just turned this on. :)

And I think Teri Hatcher's character is absolutely hilarious. Lol, ive yet to devise opinions for the rest but well see. :)

Yeah! I absolutely love the show as well. I haven't seen the New Episode because it is only around 6 o'clock here, but oh I will be watching it LOL! :)

My favorite characters are Susan and Bree.. I like all of them in their different ways though.. I just like Susan because we see a lot of her and I like her curious side, which ended up burning down Edie's house lol! :) I love the scene where she finally tells Edie and Edie throws the Neighborhood Gossip's ashes in her face! Classic!

Bree is like Martha Stewart on crack! I love her character, it is so neurotic and funny! I love how she when she showed up in all that lingerie and freaked out about a Mustard Stain and storms out saying "Obviously YOU have never had to deal with getting a MUSTARD Stain Out!" and how she in a member of the NRA! It's great!

I think that Lynette has her moments too.. My favorite moment was when she made the kids get out of the car and when she came back they were gone lmao :)

So yes! I am a HUGE fan lmao!

Tonights episode of Desperate Housewives!!

Justin, John's roomate is gay...and he's sleeping with Bree's SON!!!
Susan just stormed Zack's pool party trying to see if Julie was back there..and she caught Justin and Bree's kid in the pool!

OMG!! lol :D

this episode is one of the best yet!!

Zack has all the makings of Wisteria Lane's own "Columbine killer"....talking about how easy it would be to "take care of someone" and he "knows where his mom hid the gun":stupid:

Last night's episode was definitely one of my favorites. I missed the beginning of the season because after Extreme Home Makeover I didn't think there was anything on, but I started watching it a few weeks ago and got hooked on it. I like Susan and kinda hate Bree cuz she's obsessed with being perfect. So it was really funny to me when her son got caught making out with the gay guy. Susan and Lynette seem to be my favorites right now. I like Terri Hatcher so of course I like her character.

im just the opposite. I dont care for Susan that much. She is quirky and funny..and probably the LEAST pretentious of the women on Wisteria Lane..but everyone is trying to pass Teri Hatcher off as "THE SEX SYMBOL" of the show...when clearly she is NOT as babe-a-licious as she was back during her days on "Lois and Clark". She has major crow's feet under her eyes...and she's starting to show her age. I wish the press would stop making it look as though SHE carries the show. It seems to me that Bree and Lynette are far more interesting ..both characters have major flaws..but thats what makes them fantastic to watch. Entertainment Weekly recently did a poll and Bree and Susan were TIED for "most popular" desperate housewife.

I dont think many people are fond of Edie (with a name like "Edie"...:worry: )though.
