In anticipation of the crossover event- X-men vs. Avengers, several matchups have been promoted by marvel. I posted those (http://www.screen-gems.net/showthread.php?p=61381#post61381) in the Marvel section of Great Escape.

After you've seen those...come place your bets & speculations HERE about who will win between the following:


Hulk vs. White Queen
Luke Cage vs. Beast
Ms. Marvel vs. Rogue
Black Widow vs. Psylocke
Ironman vs. Magneto

Im not sure, Hulk vs Emma looks like a sure win for Hulk, unless she somehow manages to calm him down. She might surprise though. But my bet is on Hulk

I am not familiar with either best or Luke cage's current power levels, but beast might win on agility.

Ms.Marvel vs Rogue is a tough one, when i saw Rogue in Legacy #260.1 she was really in control of her powers and good at using several at once. The question is will she have that possibilty against Ms.Marvel, if not im thinking Ms.Marvel will take it.

Black Widow vs Psylocke, i am really rooting for Psylocke, but im suspecting a Black Widow win, it won't make sense to me but thats just the feeling i have :(

Unfortunately i have the same feeling when it comes to Iron Man vs Magneto, some kind of non magnetic suit or something. Gah, i really hope Magneto will come out on top, but alas i suspect it will not happen.

Hulk vs. White Queen- Hulk may win but he can't kill her. He tried slamming her into the ground once & she survived. I think it'll come down to her psi powers & how strong she's able to use them.

Luke Cage is invulnerable & impervious. He's been able to survive blasts from the likes of sentinels & a direct attack from Carnage. He also has superstrength.

Beast is far more agile & more intelligent. I have a feeling Beast's agility, athletic ability & intellect combined w/ his own considerable strength will give him the edge in that one.

I'm TOTALLY rooting for Ms. Marvel in MM vs Rogue. That's a longstanding GRUDGE that spans decades between those two. As Binary, Carol handed Rogue her ASS in revenge for what was the next best thing to MURDER almost a decade before. Following 1998 as Carol returned to Ms. Marvel w/ higher level powers & some aspects of Binary, she & Rogue fought @ least two more times before Carol finally forgave her. Then they fought again in like 2006 I think.

Carol's powers, as they are now make her more than a match for Rogue. her BASE strength is 50 tons but she can augment her strength & energy projection w/ absorbing ANY energy thrown @ her (even ionic). Carol is billed as one of the greatest aerial combatants in Marvel Universe & has vicious fighting skills. I know Rogue's power has stabilized & she's a great field leader but I just favor Carol in this fight. :)


Psylocke has a 6 on Marvel's 7 point scale for fighting ability & as of RECENTLY (thanks to an assist by an alternate timeline jean grey) she's reclaimed her status as an omega level telepath, coupled w/ her telekinetic ability...I see her mopping the floor w/ Black Widow. She'll be able to know Widow's moves before she makes them, strike @ her from long distance among other things.

Even w/ injuries & shakey power levels, Magneto held off several NIMRODS protecting the sick & injured mutants on Utopia during 2nd Coming. @ his prime, he'd be MORE than a match for Iron Man. I favor Mags...but I have a feeling they'll make Ironman come out on top for some reason.

Magneto and Psylocke I strongly favor, though Iron Man is capable of making a ceramic suit, probably already has one for this situation. He may also be able to counter Magneto's abilities somehow (don't ask me how).

Hulk and Ms. Marvel I strongly favor. Hulk just got done beating the entire TEAM + Juggernaut, so I expect either (a) he will win or (b) he will get jobbed by Marvel. Ms. Marvel is past Rogue IMO. Rogue has a shot but it is only in taking Carole's powers again. I don't see her hitting Carole enough to get at her.

Beast vs. Luke Cage is the rubber match IMO. Luke is stronger but Hank more agile and smarter, though Cage is more cunning. I am calling a tossup.

...to be fair...that was a largely shitty line up he fought. heavy hitters like Storm, Dazzler, Havok, Psylocke & more were absent. He battled the Young X-men & among them only X-23 gave him pause & of the senior team only Wolvie, ShadowCat & the White Queen managed to make him pay attention. They had to get outside help to even last as long as they did. & the juggernaut he fought was w/out cyttorak but once juggs took that power BACK, the battle became more of a draw.

Thing while strong has no chance against the now Unstoppable Colossus. Colossus is half mad and demonically possessed, i think he has the edge.

Archangel doesn't have his memories . . . or that look any more so I'm curious how hes going to survive daredevil.

Spider Woman vs Gambit is actually a really fair fight that could go either way, if i had any hope this event would be good this would probably be the best fight.

Psylocke took care of AA's memory problem so I don't think that'll be a factor. I like how he can shift back & forth between Angel & ArchAngel. He can be absolutely savage in battle.

and speaking of which, which team of X-men are the Avengers going to war with Cyclops or Wolverine cause WQ is on team Cyclops and everyone else here is at the Jean Grey Institute of Higher Learning (except Gambit who is with neither)

It looks like they will be going up against both teams if you ask me. I thought Gambit is residing in Westchester and is in some way connected to the School there.

It looks like Cable will have something to do with this conflict, well that took long. It will be interesting to follow this event.
