I saw it, and I didn't like it . . . seems too much like an after school special without the "moral clause" ending.

i thought it was very gritty and eye opening. I didnt think it was nearly as cliched as an "after school special". I loved Holly Hunter in this movie and Evan Rachel Wood put on a fantastic performance. This movie shouldve been nominated for more awards.

I love this movie. Honestly Nikki Reed (Who played Evie), wanted to write a movie that delt with teen issues---as drastic as the issues were protrade in the movie, that's what some teens have to go through, and I think it was very well done. ERW was outstanding in the role of Tracy, and I love Holly Hunter in it. And I must say that Nikki Reed was amazing for a first time actress and writer.

I love Thirteen. I watch it about once a week. I think it's a brilliant movie made even more fantasitc by the fact that a 13 yr old girl wrote it. (Co-wrote it. Whatever)

I loved how out of control Tracy became. It just started with one little thing and spiraled out of control. That felt so real. Even if your childhood wasn't this crazy you can still relate to not feeling in control of your life and wanting to fit in.

As much as Tracy interested me, especially since I could see a lot of me in her, her mother was just as interesting.

Here was this woman who was trying to raise these kids when she hadn't even grown up herself. She was as out of control as Tracy was. She had been lucky up until then. Her son didn't get into a lot of trouble. He wasn't there hardly ever. (I think he used surfing and weed as a way to escape.)

Tracy was like the perfect kid. She was a good student, had good friends, didn't get into trouble. She had some major problems but she hid it behind a good girl attitude so her mom didn't have to deal with it. She could pretend that their life was great. And then Tracy lost it and her mother didn't know what to do.

I don't know. I'm having a ramble fest again. I just adored this movie. In fact I think I'm gonna go watch it.
