There are seven, Amy and Farrah, and I have read them all. *toots own horn* LOL
ANYONE who likes the Harry Potter saga should definitely pay attention to the Chronicles. not only are they wonderful books [not just for children] but I am sure with this new age of special effects they will be brought to life like never before. I'm excited for the release of the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe release and I hope it leads to the production of the other books. Some are better than others and, Like the "Lemony Snickett" Series, some can be condensed in a single movie (http://69.42.87.196/cgi-bin/v40/ezlclk.fcgi?id=6992). [Three of the Lemony (http://69.42.87.196/cgi-bin/v40/ezlclk.fcgi?id=6831) Snickett series books were used in the making of the movie (http://69.42.87.196/cgi-bin/v40/ezlclk.fcgi?id=6992).] I think that Harry Potter is SUCH a 'cult' series that the movie makers cant change to much without losing the faith of their viewers. we love (http://69.42.87.196/cgi-bin/v40/ezlclk.fcgi?id=7099) the books for what they ARE and won't swallow the slaughtering of a single book too well. The Chronicles, however, wont be so well known, like Farrah [and myself, to a degree] Our memory of the acute details will be fuzzy. The younger children (http://69.42.87.196/cgi-bin/v40/ezlclk.fcgi?id=6877) will be more inclined to accept this evolved version and us adults who loved the book when we were young will likely be satisfied because what we DO remember are the big things that wont change, lol. I remember most of the book, I'm confident that hollywood wont try to taint the story too much, as it is SO popular for what it is.
I remember watching the original film version of the book when i was in fourth grade. I was bored with it, if I remember correctly, and I wrote it off as a low budget film our school (http://69.42.87.196/cgi-bin/v40/ezlclk.fcgi?id=7142) made us watch. Lol, that, of course, was when I was an inarticulate ingrate  I think if I watched it now i could properly appreciate it, but i want to see this new version because i know the special effects team will be able to bring it to life much better than they could in the last version. technology can be a beautiful thing, no?

I know what you mean! They are currently making the "His Dark Materials" books by Phillip Pullman into a series... I cannot wait to see this! I read the triology and it is simply amazing! I went to London last summer and the National Theater had just finished running the play made out of the books! I'm gonna be so excited to see the movie when it comes out.... I believe that the first is supposed to be released at some point this year :D
