Columbia Pictures has revealed the new teaser trailer for The Da Vinci Code (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=7413), opening in theatres everywhere May 19, 2006.

Ron Howard and Akiva Goldsman, the Oscar-winning director and writer of A Beautiful Mind (http://comingsoon.net/news.php?id=9637#), reunite to bring Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code," one of the most popular and controversial novels of our time, to the big screen (http://comingsoon.net/news.php?id=9637#) with a cast headed by two-time Academy Award (http://comingsoon.net/news.php?id=9637#) winner Tom Hanks (http://comingsoon.net/news.php?id=9637#), Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina and Jean Reno.

Produced by Oscar-winner Brian Grazer and John Calley, The Da Vinci Code (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=7413) begins with a spectacular murder in the Louvre Museum. All clues point to a covert religious organization that will stop at nothing to protect a secret that threatens to overturn 2,000 years of accepted dogma.

The Da Vinci Code (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=7413) commences production on June 30th in Paris and is set to wrap on October 19th in England.

Producers of the multimillion-dollar adaptation of "The Da Vinci Code" have signed a deal, said to be worth £100,000, to use Lincoln Church as a double for London's Westminster Abbey reports ITV (http://www.itv.com/news/entertainment_81690.html).

The Louvre Museum in Paris, scene of a murder in the novel, has also been given permission for filming to take place there when shooting begins on June 30. Production crews will be in Lincoln for two weeks in the summer. Filming will centre around the Chapter House, Cloisters and Nave.

Cathedral chief executive Roy Bentham said Lincoln and another unnamed British cathedral have been chosen for the film, which is expected to open next May.
