every now and then, a country song or artist will appeal to me. Shania Twain REALLY did it for me back in 1998 with her album "come on over". It helped that i heard alot of the dance remixes first on the radio before the original album versions. That Album of her's went DIAMOND (one of a select handfull of albums by artists in america to reach that elite status--Madonna and Michael Jackson are among the others to accomplish that feat). BEFORE Shania, there was Dolly Parton with her "9 to 5" hit back in 1981, i remember that well to this day.

The Dixie Chicks have had a song or two that i liked, Leanne Rimes was another pop/dance cross over hit and most recently I liked Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck woman" :D

Haha..a lot guys want Gretchen Wilson to have their baby, J Soul. Wanted to see the show, dang it. Ah well. Who were the performances, and how were they? Figured Gretchen would have won for best female this year at least.

From what I can remember...Toby Keith from Baghdad, Kenny Chesney (that Cleveland song lol), Rascal Flats (?), Sugarland, Brooks and Dunne, Faith Hill...all good as far as I could tell. I think Tim McGraw was having problems with his tech stuff because when he started there was all this feedback and then he sounded awful - like he couldn't hear himself, and then he took out his earpieces and it was better. He sang Drugs or Jesus.

Hmm..interesting. Would have liked to see Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, and Faith Hill. I remember on an awards show not too long ago i think Toby Keith did Whiskey Girl..that was a really good performance.

Ah I'm a die hard country fan. I love Faith Hill, Gretchen Wilson, Brooks And Dunn, Big and Rich, Johnny Cash, Reba McIntyre, Martina McBride, Shania Twain (My Uncle is in love with her), Dolly Parton.... I have a million. Most recently I've been listening to Loretta Lynn's new CD it's pretty good although it's no "Coal Miner's Daughter" (which is one of my all time favs).I really wish I could've caught it, but then again CMT or GAC might rerun it.

Shania is in a league of her own and the best selling country female of alltime.
And Shania's THE WOMEN IN ME album also went diamond . Shania's COME ON OVER album has gone double diamond in the States and sold over 38 million worldwide.
Shania's last album(UP) also sold a huge amount all over the world and was a huge success and so did her GH cd released in 2004.
