Nip/Tuck (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=9568#) star Julian McMahon will play the title character in Prisoner, an independent drama that has just begun production, reports Variety. David Alford and Robert Lynn wrote the script and are making their directorial debuts.

McMahon plays a Hollywood director (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=9568#) who is taken prisoner while scouting an abandoned prison for a film (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=9568#) location. Elias Koteas plays the jailer; Dagmara Dominczyk, Kim Raver, Rocky Carroll and Tom Guiry also star.

The film is currently filming in Nashville, predominantly at the Tennessee State Prison, where The Last Castle and The Green Mile (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=9568#) were shot.

McMahon will next be seen as villain Dr. Doom in Fox's Fantastic Four (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=5467) and is rumored to be on a shortlist of candidates to play James Bond (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=9568#).
