Sex and the City Prequel??

So supposedly Candace Bushnell, the creator of Sex and the City, is working on adapting another book. This novel, The Carrie Diaries, follows the main SATC character and her sassy self through her high school happenings in Connecticut.

There is also talks about a prequel movie. Unfortunately, Miley Cyrus' name was thrown into the mix as possibly playing the "young Carrie". BLECH.

I wouldn't mind a prequel, though I wish it was with the entire cast of ladies instead of just Carrie. I would love to see a young Samantha lol. But Miley Cyrus as Carrie? Seriously? That's just retarded.

Miley Cyrus cameo'ed in S&TC 2 so that would make any sense. I think a prequel is a bad idea in this case. the series/franchise is one of the most beloved and profitable right now and there's already talk of a third film and possibly a 4th to end the series all together.

It would be a mistake to do this, especially since not all fans of S&TC are fans of "Carrie" exclusively. I know I'm not. I prefer Samantha and Miranda.

I just think it will end up people - probably not the same ones who did the show or other movies - trying to make a SATC Gossip Girl and failing horribly.

SATC is aimed toward adult woman....they wouldn't go see a high school version of Carrie. Not unless it was done in a way where the entire cast of ladies were having flashbacks to their youth. Then I think it might work.

But yeah....I don't see this happening, or if it does, succeeding.
