Its the biggest oil spill disaster in U.S. history, already 2 times as bad as the Exxon oil spill in 1989 (which i also remember) and now its reaching Florida shores and projected to reach up the atlantic coast!

Why does it SEEM like NOTHING is really being done about it? Why is BP NOT being prosecuted?

Has anyone seen the heart breaking pictures of the animals who are being caught up in the spill? Its just terrible, not to mention the envrionmental and commercial impact on the gulf residents and others.

What's your personal throught on this disaster? I feel like legal action should be taken against BP but what's happening now just prooves that big companies, especially big oil seem to be subject to a DIFFERENT standard of law than the rest of us. but its US and the helpless animals who will suffer because of this envrionmental disaster

The issue that I see is that we are in one hell of a pickle. A foreign company has started something that we really HAVE to have them clean up. It is prudent (though frustrating) for the gov to be cool until the oil flow is stopped.

I find the wildlife part horrifying as well. I hope they DO get BP to put up the 1 billion in escrow so they can simply fund whatever they need to to fix this. people in my neck of the woods are waiting for the oil. We are going to rush to the beach because if we wait and my son sees something dying on the beach it will break his heart.
