Universe X

Can anybody tell me about this? is it in mainstream marvel continuity? an aquaintence of mine has the TPB and asked me if I knew anything about it and I told them no. I thumbed through it and saw that it had characters I recognized across the board and even seemed to refer to many important past events from the X-men continuity. I may go to the library and see if they have a copy but I was just wondering if anyone else has read it and what their thoughts are about it.

Universe X is part of a trilogy (Earth X, Paradise X also being part) that attempted to completely tie every single loose end in the entire MU at the time and make sort of an "Kingdom Come"-like book for marvel. It was suppose to an unofficial end to the marvel universe. Its not in main canon but it is part of the mulitverse and a really good series of books.
I recommend reading it just for the sake of reading it and in order Earth X, Universe X then Paradise X
