Here's a small sample (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV4eMNpW0oc) of Rush Limbaugh's hate mongering, race baiting statements.

THIS is whom people in the Republican party look to? is it any wonder the republican brand is MORE than a little tarnished?

This is guy is the worst. He bashes feminists, gay people , black people, and then he wonders why nearly 70% of the NFL threatened to BOYCOTT and not play if he succeeded in purchasing a team.

He's also the worst kind of hypocrate, a drug addict that has the nerve to talk about other people's short comings.

Why hasnt he been removed from the air? WHO thinks that what he says actually has any validity?

I just have to stop you and say, Rush Limbaugh is NOT who the Republican party looks to. Extremists are NOT the norm and MOST Republicans think Limbaugh is a tosser just like everyone else does.

Limbaugh has the ear of and is the voice of much of the Republican Party, at least a large plurality.

He has an audience of 15-20 million and they vote almost universally Republican in national races. Given the vote totals for the Republicans this last election, Limbaugh supporters constitute roughly a third of Republican support. So if one is sitting at a Republican rally and is not a Limbaugh fan they better keep it to themselves; one of their neighbors is.

This is a sticky subject for many Republicans because they would like to dismiss Limbaugh yet they sure appreciate the crazies he brings out of the woodwork to vote and raise hell. Until Republicans deal with this issue they will likely face a slowly shrinking slice of the voting pie.

Well I kind of think it's like what someone once told me when I said "All Cops are Assholes!" he then replied "No. 99% of Cops are good people. You just always run into the 1% that aren't..."

I know alot of Republicans who don't like or support Rush actually, as well as many republicans who hate Glenn Beck, but you only hear about the crazies and the extremists only because they are.. well EXTREME.

That's why they have TV shows, that's why they have Radio shows, because they are extreme! Because they cause a raucus.

All in all though, Limbaugh is a giant douche. All I am saying is that if I was a Republican I would definitely not want anyone believing that Limbaugh led my political party lol!

To quote Bill Maher: Not all Republicans are racist, but if you find a racist, he's probably a Republican.

JM: The more significant question we should be asking is not simply regarding the presence of racist tendencies in the Republican Party, exemplified by Limbaugh, Beck, and others, but rather to ask what it is about the party's platform and treatment of minorities that attracts racists in the first place.

girl please lolol! :p, having lived in the south for almost 3 years now, I'm starting to wish that when Sherman had burned it to the ground back during the civil war (that was the war that it happened in right?) that it had STAYED burned to the ground. these people down here are RIDICULOUS...but while i cant tell just by looking what political affiliation they are....most of the states down here are "red" (republican) states and racism is DEFINATELY deep rooted down here. @ the racists

I definately feel that the repulican party, especially as of late, is really showing its true, deep seated colors which happen to be more than a little racist. however i do think vil has a point. my great aunt is a republican and yet, i dont feel nor has she EVER displayed the lack of regard or respect for diveristy that pundits like Limbaugh or Beck (or their apparent fans) has. she's not a racist, nor is she a bigot. she's also pro choice (a rare thing for a republican i think) In fact, she (as vil mentioned) is one of those who CRINGES at the antics of Limbaugh and has called him a "lunatic" LOL!

You mean the ones who became Republicans after the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965? :hehe2:

I'm a conservative as are most of the people I know. I've lived in the South all my life. All over the South really. The number of racists I've known, I can count on one hand. I do like Rush and I listen to him regularly. He's not racist. In fact, I would say race is a non-issue for him.
I tried to watch the video included in the original post, but it's been removed due to copy right issues so I can't comment on that specifically, but I've listened to Rush for years and years and I've never heard say anything racist. I'm willing to bet most of you who dislike him, don't listen to him very often. I have seen and heard some of the media take some his comments wildly out of context though.
