A thread devoted to Nickelodeon's new cartoon from Marvel Comics. Its already finished one season and is about the start the next, not that bad as a TV show. I found it to be really enjoyable once i started watching and loved the the fact that they didn't completely focus on Wolverine. I notice other fans, so what do you like about the show, dislike?

I just started watching the show a couple of weeks ago. I was flipping through the channels and I happened to stop on it and got hooked. :p I'm not much of a comic buff like the rest of your guys, but I do like X-Men, and i've gotten to know a lot of the other Marvel based characters because of everyone here and on this facebook game MHA, so I instantly became interested in the cartoon.

My number one dislike of the show is the fact that it's named Wolverine and the X-Men. How pretentious is that? Wolverine is one of my least favorite X-Men, and i've always thought his character was way overrated. So I definitely don't like how the show is pretty much based around him. Also, I was watching an episode lastnight with Gambit and his voice sounded like a ghetto thug trying to attempt on a French accent. It was HORRIBLE and laughable LOL.

However, I do like that Emma Frost is involved in the X-Men. She's definitely catty toward Wolverine which is a huge bonus in my opinion. :D I also like that the main storyline throughout the season has to do with Senator Kelley trying to find and register mutants using Sentinals and other methods. I also really enjoy that they bring the more 'unknown' [atleast for me lol] mutants into the fray like Spiral, The Wendigo, Nitro, ect.

Overall, the show has kept my attention. And because i'm really starting to learn more about the Marvel Universe as of late, I get excited when I see characters I know LOL. :)

I share the feeling on the name that needs to be changed but i'm at least happy they didn't make it completely Wolverine-centric.

My first episode was the Nightcrawler storyline where he escorts the refugee mutants to Genosha. No Wolverine, Spiral and the Marauders and guess spots by the New Mutants (Pixie, Dust, Hellion, and Mercury in background roles). I really liked the show :abduct:

The best part of this show imo is that they aren't being constrained by the A-list X characters. So far they haven't been afraid to get some of the better but more unknown storylines. and agreed on Emma every time she opens her mouth she gets a good line :D

Exactly. I like that they do have some known X-Men in there, however they're using some characters that might not be as known to non-comic reading fans.

The first episode I watched was when Emma Frost came to join the X-Men and helped them find Prof. Xaviar at Genosha.

I also liked the episode where Cyclops thought Mr. Sinister had captured Jean. I'm really hoping that he DOES have her and they introduce Madelyne Pryor into the storyline. :D

I don't think Sinister has her and personally i hope we don't end up finding out what happen to her too soon. As soon as Jean is back its only a matter of time before they have to do a Phoenix story and she rarely if ever works in cartoons or even with the rest of the X-men. Madelyne Pryor however, would be a good try, i think they are setting that up now.
In one episode (can't remember which) there was a waitress that looked just like Jean checking out Cyclops, and in the comics i believe that's the same way we are introduced to Madelyne Pryor
Once we have Maddie its only a matter of time before a Red Queen or Sisterhood of Mutants story

Well if they do introduce Madelyne Pryor into the mix, I doubt they'll have Jean back anytime soon. *shrug*

And I do hope that they do the sisterhood storyline. That would be great fun!!

Me and my wife are also fans, as well as my son. I have no problem with the name since Wolverine is the most popular of the X-Men and has crossed over more. It keeps it from being boring and is why we have so many other good stories.

the animation isnt my favorite nor is the fact that wolverine is leading the team. but White Queen, Spiral, ShadowCat and possibly Madelynne are positives, along with Dazzler's appearence in the the Genosha caper. Storm is once again marginalized but Mystique is really being show more powerfull like she was in the x-men's hey day in the 80s.

i dont watch it regularly but if i see it when im channel surfing, i stop to watch it.

I hate that they .... well, did what they did in the end with Emma.

What the constant comparing to Jean Grey or the snide remarks? cause they do that in the comic too :D

So is this season still going on? Or is a new season starting up soon?

According to Wiki and Canada (who gets new episodes before us) this is still season 1 and season 2 is in post production

After reading all the episode synopsis's it does look like they might be doing the Maddie Pryor storyline in season 2, . Again, i'm not that well versed in the X-Men comics, so I might be wrong. *shrug*

it may be her, but she may not be the Goblyn Queen straight out. Chris Claremont originally intended her to be the reason Cyclops left the X-men. He was to be written out of the comic as living with her (his wife) and raising their son in alaska while storm took over as leader. but as most of us well know...it didnt quite go that way.

why is Arclight shown as a MAN in this cartoon instead of the WOMAN she ALWAYS was in the comic?
