http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/graphics/blackpixel.gif We just posted a follow-up (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3345) about Tru Calling - Season 2, and how it doesn't appear to be as exclusive as Best Buy's (or VideoUniverse.com's) listings say it is. As we mentioned there, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer release themed around Spike also seems to be in the same league. We first reported (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3340) on Friday about the Spike disc being mentioned at BestBuy.com for a July 5th release. Then on Saturday (yesterday) we followed up (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3342) with a story about how VideoUniverse is also listing this as an "exclusive" release on the same date.
To make matters even more confusing, Fox has distribtued cover art for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer release called "Spike: Love is Hell", which you can see below. The sticker says this includes 4 "killer" episodes and a bonus Spike Featurette. Fox Home Video distibuted the art, but no further info like a date, price, etc. We're not sure if this is the same thing as the Best Buy/Video Universe entry...but it would be strange if it wasn't, eh? I mean, how many best-of-Spike DVDs is Fox gonna put together all around the same time?
We're already planning to get with Fox in the upcoming week to find out more about both this AND Tru Calling, so stay tuned and we'll let you know more when we do. Here's that art in the meantime...
