Spider Woman vs.Captain America

the original Spider Woman, Jessica Drew....she's probably one of the ONLY good things to come from Brian Bendis. He's brought her back in great form and enhanced her classic power set.

We've seen her take down Sabretooth and at least once before knock out Wolverine.

With physical combat training from HYDRA & S.H.I.E.L.D, she's no light weight. She's also got experience with espionage and unlike her male counterpart, Spider Man, she is a rather vicious fighter...not holding back when using her super strength.

Who do you think would fare better in a fight between Spider Woman and Captain America?

A guy that Faced down Hulk, Galatus, Iron Man and the entire Pro-registration side, Gods, Demons and Thanos of all people!

I think shes a little outmatched her, maybe not on powers but definitely in skill level.

Farrah, it's not the stats, its the KNOW HOW. Cap is FAR beyond Drew in fighting skills. His skill level dismisses the need for overly enhanced strength OR speed. Plus he has the shield. She has NO. HOPE. I would give him even odds against ALL of the Spider-Women.

The Sheild? as if THAT means anything? He's been taken down by Storm, Ms. Marvel II (Sharon Ventura) , She-Hulk and many others IN SPITE of the shield, even when it was used in those battles. He'd NEED the shield to survive her venom blasts...thats fer sure.

Jessica has been regarded by Cap as a PEER (as he often spoke during the New Avengers) her reputation in Madripoor (among other places) has made her a respected force among some of the most deadly fighters of MU, TWO of whom she has SOUNDLY defeated in all out combat (Wolverine and Sabretooth).

You make it sound like the woman is a novice OR that she'd just STAND there and get taken down! LOL!

Farrah, you just named 3 people that Spider-woman cannot defeat EITHER, LOL! Cap regarded her with respect but fighting-wise, she is no peer, lol. Defeating Wolverine and Sabretooth are impressive feats indeed, but Cap has done SO much more.

You gotta work with me here. I respect Drew but you picked the greatest hero of the MU, the best overall fighter and the one baseline human (other than Batman) in ALL of comics that NO ONE (powered or not) likes to face. Give me Shang-Chi or Nomad or US Patriot or Puck. But not Cap. I would give her no more than ONE of ten.

Who do you think would fare better in a fight between Spider Woman and Captain America? It's hard for me to picture these two in a battle since they were both allies. Unless Cap was possessed Chthon or Morgan Le Fay then I can see SW battling CA. And of course SW has defeated these two foes before. But we haven't really considered SW's pheromone powers and how it might affect CA. I woull think CA would get so dizzy he'd buckle down to his knees. And with Bendis writing the script, SW would win hands down. ;)

Spider Woman couldnt defeat Storm or Ms. Marvel II??? yeah i think you need to check again. The ONLY way Ms. Marvel II would be able to effectively withstand Spider Woman is if she were in her "She-thing" form...the 2nd mutation.

and as for Storm? I would say that in many ways they would be a match...aerial combat/speed , long range strikes with Spider Woman having the advantage of strength. Let's not forget (as i momentarily did until Arachne pointed it out) Spider Woman has fought and defeated one of Marvel's most powerfull Witches. Can CAP say the same thing?

Clear the cobwebs, Farrah. Storm, used correctly, has the ability to effect an area in a way that Drew cannot withstand.

As for Cap, his rogue's gallery FAR surpasses Drew's. By a LOT. And yet he stood. This guy earned the respect of Thor, the Hulk, and Hercules. Few can say the same, if ANY.

and since when has storm been used/written properly in a LONG TIME?

There was a time where FEW could stand up to Storm...now based on the writing (and the supposed evidence of "fan boys" as to why she couldnt beat anyone from Thing to Superman :rolleyes: ) the woman could hardly deal with any member of "Young X-men".

I grew up LOVING Storm. Now she bores me. I know what she can do...I've seen how powerfull she can be both in powers and personality...but now? she's just "T'challa's wife with a chip on her shoulder following M Day" and its depressing. They're trying to "bring her back" in Manifest Destiny...but I'm still not really seeing it.

Jessica Drew's "rogue's gallery" overlaps with spider man's, the avengers, and wolverine's. don't forget that the woman also had her own series and one of her biggest name enemies is Morgan Le Fey, (after Arachne pointed that out, i had to go back and read some stuff) someone who is FAR beyond Cap's league.


One punch from Spider Woman and Cap is done (unless he uses his shield of course :p )

Cap's engaged Thanos, Surfer, the Asgardians, Ultron...Drew can't match that. I would grant that one good FLUSH punch and Cap would be out, but when has anyone REALLY gotten THAT?! Especially in a one-on-one format...I respect Drew and she would not a pushover, but Cap would beat her consistently.
