Very interesting. I pretty much stopped monthly comic book buying last summer. I'm gonna try catching up on things via TPBs.

Was Secret Invasion any good, the way they resolved it? I only got through issue 3.

I'm curious about the new Spider-Woman comic too.

Secret Invasion was horrible, an exercise in decompression, bendisspeak and mindless explosions. Maybe it might read better in trades but that book was like 5/8 of pure fluff

Well that blows. Bendis spends (supposedly) years setting it up and then...it all goes in the crapper. Ah well. I still like Bendis' Alias series, some of his ideas. But he does seem to have a lot of writing habits that just aren't well suited to conventional superhero comics.

I'll pick up the SI TPB just so I know what's going on. Are you liking the new Avengers lineups? I haven't read much Dan Slott, curious to see his take. Maybe I'll pick up a couple of issues.

Bendis' problem is that he has these great ideas but so far in execution he just screws up hard.

Dark And Mighty i'm feeling. Mighty was very enjoyable for me, had a fun feel, humor and nice setup. Slott is one of my fav writers at marvel, his only real problem is his obsession with fixing continuity errors only he knows exist. it gets a bit annoying when he references a stray line from a book and it becomes so massive plot point. Bendis is going to give him a workout with that lol.

Dark i like because it has the feel of Warren Ellis' Thunderbolts which was one of my absolute favorite monthly of last year. However with Bendis writing it hes no Ellis which i think is going to bite the book hard when all the Ellis and normal Avengers fans coming to it and realize that they aren't getting Ellis or normal Avengers. We'll see on that one.
