So I wanted to take a moment and talk about perhaps my favorite character in the Marvel Universe, Danielle Moonstar.

I have loved Dani from the moment I laid eyes on her and I have always really found her storylines to be very interesting and intense, maybe not the most intense in Marvel but she has always caught my eye. I think I liked her style, I don't know the Indian thing just does it for me haha.

So what do you think about Moonstar? Likes? Dislikes? Favorite Story Archs?

I personally loved when she was undercover in the MLF trying to take them down from the inside and I think she was at her best during her X-Force days. I loved when she had the storyline with Arcadia and for a short time had the ability to manipulate quantum energy even disrupting an electromagnetic forcefield created by Magneto when X-Force was in Genosha.

Though I have to say that I love the fact that she has been redefined, returning to Xavier's School and becoming a teacher. She seems like one of the more well adjusted mutants out there. I love her romance with Pierce as well and her mother/son relationship with Elixir who I am liking as a mutant as well, his powers are interesting and his gold skin reminds me of Heather Cameron (Lifeguard) who I thought was HOT!

I also love the somewhat cattyness between Emma Frost and her and their battling teams. That was always fun to watch.

So what do you guys think?

I haven't really had that much exposure to Moonstar but i do enjoy her when she shows up. She was one of my favorite teachers in Academy X/New X-men and when she made appearances in Avengers - Initiative she was absolutely wonderful at getting under Gyrich's skin:hehe2:.

Moonstar has peaked, imo. I found her to be at her BEST when she was both mutant AND valkyrie. I liked the codename change from "Mirage" to "Moonstar" and I also enjoyed the psychic shaft/arrow manifestation she gained in the mid 90's as well as the mystical/quantum manipulation power she had by the END of the 90's. at THAT point even Magneto was afraid of her.

but NOW? ever since she was depowered and then fired by the White Queen...I havent thought much of her.

I'll always miss her and the rest of the ORIGINAL New Mutants [ Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Karma, Magma, Magik, Warlock and Cypher] because they were MY generation's team. They came about in the 80's, the appealed to readers my age and slightly older and had so much promise. none of them with exception of Cannonball, Karma, Magik and most recently Moonstar ever became fullfledged X-men either.

The Original new mutants were a promise that was never truly fullfilled.

God.. I Know.. Emma is SUCH a bitch!

She was awesome with her quantum abilities. I just hate that she was depowered. It really bothers into. While I have always loved her I just felt like she was always a fairweather mutant. If she would have stayed into the fold she could have been able BY NOW to at least have the ability to make her illusions solid and then that would have awesome. She had it for a little while but she lost it. She always gets these awesome powers and then loses them. It pisses me off. It almost seems as Marvel likes her but isn't quite sure what to do with her.

Marvel has an annoying habit of making cool female heroes and then spending lots of ink fucking them and their powers completely up. Moonstar is but one example.

Both both of big 2 companies have a problem with that. I think they're a bit afraid of taking the chances they do with male characters so they keep trying to reinvent the wheel.

I agree the whole depowering thing was STUPID. I feel she as at her strongest when she was a Valkyrie too. That was absolutely awesome. I would love to see an alternate of Dani who possessed ALL of the powers Dani had including her old horse. That Danielle would most certainly kick ASS.

I am not surprised though, they really do ruin alot of the older characters of Marvel.
