I thought it was really good.... a quality mix of action and humor. I'd definately recommend this movie for everyone to see!

And for all you people who like horror and gore and such:

There is a nice part where the seargent and one of the bad guys are fighting outside... they are near a car in the winter time and there are several ice cicles growing off the bottom of the vehicle. The seargent grabs an ice cicle and stabs the guy in the eye! Definately a moment for those unique death sequences

i gave it a C.

this movie was a remake of a John Carpenter film (which was like his "escape from new york, L.A. films). it was kind of gritty...but as someone who LIVES in Metro Detroit...i can tell you for a fact this movie was not shot here....with the exception of the skyline that you see near the beginning of the film...this was definately not shot in detroit at all...but yet they want you to think Detroit is THAT bad?

It depicts police corruption (which definately abounds in the DPD) but it totally tries to emulate "Training Day" being that it IS from the producer of Training Day i guess that isnt so far fetched.

I gave it B. I liked it, overall.

I originally went to see it for Ethan hawke, I think he's a great actor, i loved him in Training Day and he's pretty damn cute too, lol. I loved the opening scene, it was probably my favorite of the whole movie.

Laurence Fishburne gave a solid performance, but I felt like he was still stuck in the Matrix, LOL, I was waiting for him to say "The red pill, or the blue pill? The red pill... you throw me to the wolves. They kill you anyway. The blue pill, you wake up, make a stand, MAYBE make it out of here alive." Ah, i'm just hacking on him, lol. He's a damn million because of his portrayl of Morpheus, so he can spent the rest of his life in the matrix if that makes him happy :-p He did a great job. I liked that his character was like "Let us be realistic... I dont give a damn about any of you people."

It had suspense, action and comedy. Ive seen better movies that i would give A's to, but I've seen FAR worse ones too, lol. So a B. I enjoyed it.
