Since Madelynne Pryor was cloned from Jean Grey's DNA, she was essentially another version of Jean, and possessed Jean's telekinetic and telepathic abilities. As Goblyn Queen, her powers were exponentially enhanced by dark magick to the point where her telekinesis could warp reality in a localized area, and her telepathy could alter the minds of a population within that area. After her resurrection by X-Man (Nate Grey), Madelynne's telepathy was reduced to a much lower level, limiting her to reading minds, communicating by broadcasting her thoughts, creating minor illusions, changing or erasing some memory in another person, and defending herself against other telepaths. Her telekinetic abilities remained at extremely high levels. Madelynne could move, lift and manipulate large objects or rearrange them on a molecular level, channel her telekinetic powers to fire powerful mental force-blasts, focus her psionic energy into a protective shield, and levitate herself in order to fly. Madelyne also developed powers that Jean never possessed. She was able to teleport over long distances by psychokinetically shunting herself in and out of the astral plane (and was shown to be able to carry along at least one other person with her when teleporting). Madelyne could also siphon psionic energies from other psionic mutants and then use the stolen energy to boost her own powers, or channel the energy into someone else to temporarily increase their psionic abilities. A few stories have also shown Madelyne able to utilize her powers to greatly enhance her physical strength and agility, to the level of being a lethal hand-to-hand combatant. She used this ability to SHATTER the supposedly "unbreakable" energy armor worn by Trevor Fitzroy as she utterly defeated him in combat, the same man who engineered the massacre of the White Queen's Hellions.

Madelynne was given a 7 out of 7 on Marvel's seven point scale for speed/agility (and intelligence too!)

Magik is a long distance teleporter, given a 7 out of 7 for speed. Unlike many other of Marvel's teleporters, Magik can teleport through time AND space, forward and backward. Magik has teleported across one continent, from one continent to the next and from earth to the sh'iar homeworld among OTHER feats of her teleporting power. The discs can also be used for defense/offense moves such as "catching" and "redirecting" energy projection and even volleys of automatic weapon fire (witness her doing this in the "Fall of the mutants" storyline as well as their caper to rescue Gosamyr)

Magik is the sorceress supreme of limbo. her would be rivals in Limbo have never dared challenge her, with the exception of Sy'm who ONLY succeeded in briefly taking over Limbo after she sacrificied herself to help stop the Inferno. She is highly regarded (and at one point even feared) by Doctor Strange not only for her mystical power (whose limits have yet to be defined) but her latent ability to manipulate time as well. PRE "house of m" and "quest for magik" her mystical abilities while on EARTH were limited to the following effects: scrying, cloaking, shields, healing, posession/mind control, mystic flame control, eldritch force bolts, magickal detection, mystic binding/chains and the ULTIMATE expression of her power, the Soul Sword which could disrupt any magick spell/enchantment/posession cast against herself or others and could also injure/kill other magick beings.

She posesses a psi screen that not even Xavier, the White Queen or Rachel (Phoenix III/Marvel Girl III) could breach.

The more magick power that Magik uses, the more eldritch armour she manifests. This armor is a natural power for her as the ruler of limbo and when it manifests, she gains super strength (witness her hurling S'ym back several feet during one of their epic grudge matches as he attempts to force her to the ground OR when she shoves Colossus through a glass window in a panicked attempt to escape him). this armor also protects her from the techno organic virus and limits or even deflects outside magickal attacks against her (see her battle with Forge).

BOTH women were the stars of the INFERNO storyline and both women changed the lives of those around them up to and during that storyline forever. They never really interacted though (although Magik frequently referred to Maddie as "Scott's stupid wife" during the Fall of the Mutants storyline)

Magik has been consistently listed as one of Marvel's most important mystics and has been the ENVY of such characters as Margali Szardos as well as being respected by Spiral, Doctor Strange and Forge, while Madelynne has been listed several times by Wizard Magazine as one of the most underrated "heavy hitters" of the x-men characters. She was picked as one of the few BEST qualified to fight characters such as Legion and Onslaught. She's beaten down Jean Grey everytime she's seen the woman, she HUMILIATED her "creator", Mr. Sinister AND was the belle of the ball when Selene sponsored her for Hellfire Club inner circle membership.

Both women have bloodthirsty tendencies and are clearly in touch with their demonic sides.

Which of these ball busting "demonic divas" will come out on top and why?

We'll keep this FAIR by keeping the battle on EARTH but since both women can teleport long distance, this fight could run across the globe.

This is the ultimate Morgan vs. Nicolas surrogate battle, lol. I know their are differences, but there are also many similarities.

This one is the classic apples vs. oranges battle. The battle will hinge on who can better use her own abilities on her opponent before she is damaged by her opponent in turn. I am excluding Goblyn Queen Madelynne since we are not in Limbo, where Magik rules. I would call this close to a draw, with a slight nod to Madelynne's experience, 5.5/4.5

honesly, i'll have to agree. (even on the Morgan v. Nicolas reference :D)

If you INCLUDE the "Goblyn Queen" persona/powers of Madelynne, I suspect that would leave her vulnerable to the Soul Sword too because her powers and soul were touched by dark magick.

But this would be a very good running battle unless one got the drop on the other one good time. I could honestly see it going either way.

Magik has torn through Dire Wraiths, she's checked the Scarlet Witch and she maimed Forge, a high level shaman....lets not forget her thrashing of the Enchantress.

Madelynne has checked X-men AND X-factor together, BY herself. She overpowered and defeated her creator, she defeated her template not once, but TWICE and she prooved to be too much even for Selene and Sebastian Shaw to control as she thrashed their White Rook and destroyed his supposedly indestructible energy armor (very impressive to read)

Both women have experience, but i agree Maddie should get a bit of a nod because Magik was "out of action" for so long :( while Maddie raged on for quite a while AND is rumoured to be returning again soon and Magik is already back with us!
