My first favorite of favorites.

Ever since I could read, well, before to be truthful, this team had me hooked.
Made up of guys and gals and set a thousand years from now it had most of the elements I could ask for and enjoy. Super-Heroes, sci-fi and great stories with great characters. The Dave Cockrum and Mike Grell and a host of others added the stuff us over 13 like. :hehe2:

The FF is a family, but so's the Legion along with being like any gathering of people.

They've never been stopped being published and for good reason.

Long Live The Legion.

Long Live the Legion Brother. The only thing i hate about the legion is the confusing history other than that and the nonstop reboots they been a great series to follow. I read "Life and Death and the End of Time" and "The Great Darkness Sage" Classic legion is my favorite. Theres hoping for a great mini in "Legion of 3 Worlds"

It's going to be a good one, that Legion Of Three Worlds.

We must spread the Legion fever to the rest here!

The reboots have had a strange effect. They've managed to get new readers, but have also managed to tick off old readers. I'm sort of in the later.

I started with the Adventure Comics run and I'm mostly a fan of the Classic era.
Johns' Neo Classic was me happy and curious. :xyxthumbs:

The Great Darkness Sage is a comics classic! :xyxthumbs:

The Last issue of Action Comics with The TIME TRAPPER!!! showing up and the teaser trailer see here (http://www.screen-gems.net/showthread.php?t=5283&highlight=legion+worlds) (with interview) really has me reved up for Lo3W. Favorite Legionnaire has to be Brainiac 5 supergenius and we share the same weakness: blondes :) his crush on Supergirl then Andromeda.

I remember the Legion. Saturn Girl was my favorite.

Shadow Lass was another one that i liked ...her new name is horrid.

The only thing that bothered me was the rut that the writers seemed to get stuck in naming everyone Lightning Lad or Lightning Lass...everything was "something" Lad or "something" Lass

It was a theme cause the the Legion was inspired by the Legacys of heroes like Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman so they it was Adjective/description and Lad/Lass

Umbra? Why, to much like Umbrella for you?

What about Dream Girl or Princess Projectra, I thought those two would appeal to you, considering.........but then, I wonder about your thought on Emma Frost.

The name scheme was the norm for the fifties and early sixities. Now it's just tradition.

Two of my all time fav artists for the Legion are Steve Lightle and Jeff Moy.
Steve's work is just great for the solid almost illustrative style while Jeff's, while solid too, brings out the cuteness of the gals and makes them all look like teens. Steve's makes them all look like TV teens - 20 somethings.

I've many fav Legionnaires, but one fav that's returned, sort of, is Wildfire.
Of all the gals, my fav would be Saturn Girl too. The early story where she choose to sacrifice herself for the rest, albeit in cheating in an election for leader endeared her to me.

The latest rumor concerning the Legion is that Jim Shooter has been removed from the title.

Makes you wonder why, could this have to do with the upcoming Legion of Three Worlds series or be do to something else such as poor sales or personality conflicts?

Where you hear that one. the "other site." Its really earlier to remove him unless hes going to a new title. I don't think Lo3W would do it.

is this the same Jim Shooter who was editor in chief @ Marvel during the Dark Phoenix saga? he was the one who DEMANDED that Phoenix II "HAD to die" for being a "five billion mass murderer" and effectively blocked Jean's return for several years.

if it is, I'm surprised he's still in the game. I hadnt heard about him in a long while.

I got it from Lying In The Gutters yesterday.
It was an off hand remark from Johnston about why Shooter hadn't attended a British convention.

Most speculation, so far, is as I posted. One of those three are the reason if this is so and not just a speculative rumor from Johnston.

Yup that's him. Same guy who wrote some of the classic Legion stories as a kid back in the sixties when they were homed in the Adventure Comics title and a little later in the 70s before moving to Marvel. The same guy whom wrote that very good start up to Valient's Solar, Man Of The Atom series in the early 90s. While he's made some serious gaffs, he's also done some great stuff too. But it is fun to hate him, so have fun! :heee:

He's been out of directly working in comics for a while now, since Broadway failed. He's done a little writing but he was working elsewhere, I understand, in the entertainment industries.
