It's one of my favs at the moment.
Loved the first season, got to find time to watch the movie and second season.

Beings from an alternate reality called Guze come to our reality in one of two groups. Those whom wish to consume our reality and those who hunt and destroy those who would consume us for to keep balance between the two worlds. Most hunters, called Flame Haze, are humans that have entered into a contract with a King of Guze. Our main character was at first nameless except to be known as the Hot Eyed, Fiery Haired Flame Haze. Her contractor is Alistair, the Fire Of Heaven. Because of his power, he can't enter our world without causing tremendous damage. So he's kept as an avatar within a pendant around our main character's neck.The flame haze can be like cats and tend not to work together as they can be very territorial but things will change. When a consumer causes damage, a flame haze will create "place holders" for people that were destroyed. They are called "Torches". Buildings and objects can be returned to their normal state, but this and the creation of torches can consume some reality, should the flame haze not have enough power to do these things. Our main character also has a sword that was created to kill flame haze. The story begins when our main character encounters a rare form of torch called a "mistes". When flame haze and other Guze fight, they create a pocket reality around the chosen battlefield that halts time, except for them and mistes. The mistes, a boy named Yuji in encountered, it's quickly learned that he's an even rarer mistes then normal, he contains an object of power, one that's very coveted. The Hot Eyed, Fiery Haired Flame Haze ultimately develops a relationship with Yuji. He chooses to continue to try to live as Yuji, despite being a mistes, a replacement for the real Yuji. He also does something never done before, he names The Hot Eyed, Fiery Haired Flame Haze Shana, after the name of her sword. As time progresses, something more happens, unprecedented, she falls in love with him. We also get to meet other Flame Haze, learn more of her past and how and why so many believe they should not be together. But as in any good story, some change in their views about Shana and Yuji and themselves. Add to that Yuji's classmate who's also in love with him and won't let Shana have him without a fight. Add some nice comedy, like Shana's love for melon bread and learn why she does, some touching moments and nice action.

I've watched the first season and I'm hooked. I still have to watch the movies and the recently finished second season. The series has proven to have some popularity considering the number of products that've come out. I think it's coming out officially in English, but...............:hehe2:

LOL sorry man I am interested but i got to find somewhere to watch or rent it and make time to do so which with classes and finals my time=nil (mostly)

There's always the fansubs, that's where I've seen it from.

I understand, time is something that's short for everyone. I can't even watch or rewatch a number of series I'd like to, so little time.

I actually had a chance to watch this. the series is pretty good but that will she or won't she say she loves him got on my nerves very very quickly

i've never heard of it myself. there are alot of anime i will sample because i just enjoy the visual art more than anything else. its very fluent and dreamy and the japanese have a far more relaxed attitude toward sexual imagery, inuendo, sexuality and even androgyny.

i tend to prefer anime where women and magick are strongly represented.

its a surprisingly nice watch, its dual genre show on the one hand its a school romance comedy but on the other its also a highly action based magical girl show. Its only real problem is the plot at time tends to be unable to find a good balance between the two elements. Sometimes you want action and you get the school trip party episode and vice versa.

Well, yes, there sometimes gets to be a bit of an imbalance, but that's typical with anime.

Shana is a terrific show, although the third season is still slow to hit the airwaves. So it can be dragged out.

But hey! Did I not make a good recommend with this one? :heee:

i adore Shakugan No Shana. i hope season 2 will be dubbed as well.. this is one of my all time favorite anime shows. i also use her in Mugen.
