Formerly the Masters of Evil, this team has come a long way...I like the fact that they are still on the "odd side of right", many of them have dark criminal pasts, and many other individuals and teams in the MU don't trust the T-bolts.

Their overhaul in 1997-98 was perfect, giving classic characters like Moonstone a new look and keeping her relevant as well as the revampe of Screaming Mimi to "Songbird" are one of the reasons why i kept up with them. Even the team name change from Masters of Evil to Thunderbolts was creative. Their memorable team up with the Avengers in Vol. III agains the mad Count Neferia, "Master of Ionic Energy" was fierce. The Avengers CLEARLY wouldn't have one that battle without them.

I'm not so sure about them though in the aftermath of the Civil War though.

Anyone else here a fan of the T-bolts? My favs are (obviously) Moonstone and Songbird. I wish Thundra would join their ranks.

Right now the team is part of the Fifty-states Initiative protecting Colorado from their new base Thunderbolt Mountain. With Warren Ellis writing the book has gotten much much darker than it used to be but the man writes a damn fine/frightening Moonstone. I think of the team thats still around Songbird has to be my favorite, with Radioactive Man a nice second. I'm hoping before the run is over we get to see her and Moonstone finally duke it out.

Moonstone would beat that ass LOL!

Moonstone put HULK on his ass once...it was quite fun to read.

As far as I'm concerned, she's the best leader for the team. Songbird, while a great character, REALLY needs to change her costume. But at least she's not wearing that ridiculous court jester inspired outfit she wore during her stint with the Femizons.

Is that ill tempered Charcoal still with the team?

She maybe the most powerful but Songbird is the better leader. She has the trust of the team, the skills to lead them and unlike Moonstone doesn't send them in as her own personal meat shields. Moonstone has been a terrible leader and the fact that shes been planning assassinations er friendly fire incidents for anyone that shows her up in the field to the CSA or seems more media friendly really really shows her as a bad leader.

As for Charcoal well he was killed off and is probably never coming back
Charcoal was created to be a villain, by means of a Wizard magazine contest. However, Wizard Entertainment failed to establish certain legal specifics in the language of their contest rules, leaving the ownership of the character's copyright in question (Normally in such a situation, steps would be taken to ensure that, unless otherwise stated, such a character's copyright would legally belong to the comic's publisher). Furthermore, Wizard Entertainment reportedly failed to provide the contest winner with other prizes promised along with the winning character's appearance in a Marvel comic. Feeling undercompensated, Charcoal's creator attempted to legally claim the copyright for the character from Marvel, who reacted by asking then Thunderbolts writer Fabian Nicieza to kill Charcoal off and remove the character from contention[1].

i like Moonstone because even BEFORE she got her powers, she was a force of nature using her skills as a psycho therapist...it was those skills that she used to manipulate her patient into submitting the moonstone into her posession in the first place.

Songbird comes across kind of skanky to me sometimes...maybe its because she had an affair with Hawkeye while he was with Mockingbird....i dont know. but while i agree Songbird definately is more a people person than Moonstone, Moonstone is by far the better brawler.

I wasn't particularly a huge fan of The Thunderbolts though the idea of Super-Villains posing as Super-Heroes and scamming the Earth since all of the old Heroes were stuck in Franklin Richard's Counter-Earth was very compelling. But my favorite part was the first mainstream meeting between Songbird and Genis-Vell (who were in several possible futures are supposed to be hooked up, married off, and have two bouncing cosmically aware babies named Ely and...well I forget the other one's name but I know it was a girl) and how the dialogue described Songbird physically and emotionally wanting to actually be Captain Marvel's friend rather than his enemy...I think they got into a fight in those issues...but I can't remember.

Though the two did eventually hook up it wasn't for long and now Genis is six feet under, a tragedy to be sure. But knowing the state of the Marvel Universe as it is now (PETER PARKER IS A DEVIL WORSHIPPER! I KNEW IT ALL ALONG!!!) all of this crap that has been happening lately with Civil War and people dying will be reversed faster than you can say SHAZAM!!!

I am betting by March of 2009 everything except for the events of The Annihilation Wars will be turned back around. No more Skrulls, no more unmarried Peter Parker, no more Registration Act, no more Tony Stark: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., it'll be like the end of RahXephon where the Universe was "tuned" back to normal and nothing bad ever happened so that the main characters could grow up together again, get married and all that good stuff.

She is far far more capable then she used to be. I think shes the only current Thunderbolt actually fighting for redemption unstead of fame, government or just to beat up people. I love the moment she had when Moonstone threaten her mother and she pulled Moonstone aside to tell her just how badly she would die if she harmed one hair on her head. I think in a fight Songbird would win shes better and more skilled with using her powers. Its even be commented if she stopped beating herself up over her past she be Avenger Material. Songbird is a Hero, Moonstone is a villain playing at being one

Tony Stark: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D

I like Iron Man: Director of SHIELD that should stay. everything else can go.
