View Full Version : Nudists, anyone?

I recently was invited to check out a website that a casual aquaintance of mine was apart of, it's called: www.imnaked.org and its a website dedicated to those who consider themselves nudists.

I personally have no problem with being nude as much as reasonable. In my house, i will often be nude, i sleep in the nude, i even would take early morning or late night dips in my pool in the nude and i had a high wooden fence in my back yard so i skinny dipped with confidence. it helps too that im not insecure about my body. my almost ANAL level of diet habits and exercise (which has varied over the years) has afforded me a body that i'm comfortable with looking at full frontal in the mirror lol.

I dont know that i would join THAT site above that i mentioned, but it was definately interesting to see some of the other people there and how they were coming together as a community. I've also been to two nude beaches. one in Michigan (there was quite a fury over the nude beaches in michigan back in the 80's...and so when i came of age in the 90's i had to check it out....rather anticlimatic i must say) and one in Florida during my trip to Jacksonville in 1997-98

What i've noticed is that the majority of people at these beaches at that time were mostly overweight, old, unattractive people who had nothing to lose one way or the other (or so they probably thought.) there were attractive young women but most were white or of asian decent...hardly ANY young black men or women and a few perverted looking middle aged white men.

but on this website that i saw...there are DEFINATELY alot of attractive people, black and white who enjoy nudity. does anyone on THIS board enjoy being nude? what chances do you use to be nude? besides being in the shower or other obvious things (which is usually the stupid answer men will give because they are too insecure or uncomfortable to discuss this with any kind of maturity).

i also found out (before i saw this website) that its really only in AMERICA that nudity is so "controversial" other countries including Europe have a far more relaxed attitude and have you noticed that many of these countries have a FAR LOWER rate of sexually violent crimes as well?

What do you think about this?

I have no problems being nude, i walk around in my apartment and always sleep naked. I walked around so much naked that my ex almost started to comment on it...

I enjoy skinny dipping from time to time and got no problem with nudity.
Never been to a nudist beach before, but i know there is one close in proximity.

there's really something freeing about it. the thing that seems rather funny to me is, people who live ALONE and yet are afraid to be nude in their own house. WHO do they think is watching them? LOL

i remember i started sleeping nude when i was 11...and somehow, through a set of weird circumstances, my parents "caught" me with no clothes on in my bed. i was reprimanded and for a while, i would keep my PJ's on when i slept but eventually i went back to doing what i enjoyed the most lol.

what i love is taking an early morning dip in the pool on a summer day. the water against my nude body is so nice. ^_^

nude beaches are fine...but public baths? HELL no...thats the epitome of SKANKY to me.

I strongly dislike sleeping with clothes on, i really got into it when i moved out of home, so nice with some privacy, even better to feel the skin of someone dear next to you, when you wake up.

Lucky you Spell, got a pool, well if i had one i'd probably drain it and use it for skateboarding :D

Started skinny dipping when i was around 12, been enjoying it occasionally ever since.

Over here in Norway, nudity isn't so controversial, as long as you stick too the places meant for it. When traveling, its the best time to be naked i think. Most likely no one you will ever see again :D

Well unlike SiD I love to sleep in my clothes...it's not sleeping in them that bothers me. I also never strut around naked in the house even if all of the blinds are shut because really I have no reason to. But that does not mean I am going to tell a bunch of nudists that they have to wear clothes or I'll blow their kibbles and bits off with a twelve gauge just because I hate being naked. If they want to be naked then fine let them and it's really none of our business anyways if someone wants to be nude then they have the right to be nude! And I don't see why it's so controversial over here in America, it's not like they can ban Nude Beaches, it would be against the act of freedom of action or whatever they call it. Plus everyone knows that the Senators do weirder things in their own homes and their secret clubs than being Nude.

However if you are gonna go nude in the Amazon or the Congo I would strongly advise against it as there is a parasitic fish that likes to crawl into people's dark places if you catch my drift and then you have to have painful surgery to get the little bastard removed.

plus...if you think about it..somebody had to AT LEAST get naked in order to lead up to YOU being born lol. these people in america kill me with thier high minded, hypocrticial attitudes towards sex, sexuality , nudity and the like...some of the loudest opponents are the most FREAKY behind closed doors.

and what is there to be ashamed about the human body? we're born naked...and if you believe in the bible, then humans started OFF walking around naked.

have you evern gone skinny dipping? i remember when some aquaintences of mine and I skinny dipped in the delaware river back in 1996 on a summer's evening. my 2nd cousin (a lobbyist for the...ugh...republican party) had taken us to a swanky event at a nice restaurant and me , along with some of the younger folks decided to find OTHER ways to amuse ourselves as the night wore on. its a good thing we did this at night though..because we probably wouldve been arrested had it been during the day LOL.

I am extremely uncomfortable not wearing clothes, like even if I'm sleeping, I'll feel vulnerable and idk, it's just weird to me. Having said that, I'm completely fine with other people doing whatever they want, and I wouldn't be bothered by people being nude etc.. I'm just not comfortable with my body.

Well I think we were born naked so why cover up ? Also I think we only put clothes on out of fear of others viewing our bodies as "ugly" and therefore our fear becomes an embaressment to be seen naked. Even in Britain I still hear people complaining about the state of dress of celebs, people in the street etc. so there is that old British reservedness still going on.

There's another thing or 2 i'd like to suggest:

1) When are you old enough to decide you're a nudist an be seen as a nudist;

2) Would you be more comfortable stripping off in front of friends or strangers ?

Archon

I'll take a shot at answering those.
1. 18. If you're old enough to live on your own, you're old enough to make dicisions like that.
2. For me, definately strangers. Aren't we all more willing to try things on vacation that we wouldn't normally do?

I've seen all kinds of folks in nudist situations. Some old and saggy, others young and, well, pert. I think it depends kind of on where you are.

I'm not uncomfortable with being nude, but I wear clothes to bed anyways. It's mostly my bra and underwear though. I usually wear more in the winter, because no matter how much we turn up the heater, it's still cold in my room. I usually where cotton pajamas then. But it's only in my own home though. I'm too insecure about parts of my body to be naked around anyone, but my family or certain friends.

I'm not uncomfortable with other people being naked. If it makes your happy then who am I to tell you it's wrong.

I can't sleep naked. It's not that I'm opposed to it, quite the opposite in fact. I just seem to have a hard time controling my imagination under such circumstances and I wind up laying awake for hours.

If I was in a little bit better shape, I would definitely be more willing to get nude, if I had to, or go to a nude beach...but right now, not so much. lol I love being nude when i'm in my room or home alone. It's freeing and comfortable. But I can't sleep nude. I always get cold at night, even during the middle of summer, so I have to wear atleast a tshirt to bed in order to sleep comfortably.

I went on a cruise a few months ago and I surprised by how many girls went topless. There was a topless deck on the ship that a lot of women took advantage of, but even more went topless on St. Maarten. I just wonder why we seem uptight about stuff like that here, while in other parts of the world it's no big deal. I guess there are places (South Beach Miami) where it's not uncommon. Last time I was there probably half of the women were topless.

As long as people complain about it it will be this way. The best-used tactic is probably "to protect kids" but a titty never hurt anyone, least of all kids, LOL.

its like i mentioned before, nudity is NOT a bad thing...and as those of us who have traveled overseas could see (depending on where you are) there as a far more relaxed attitude towards it.

and like archon metioned, america is definately "uptight" to a hypocritical degree about it.

some of the same people who were in an uproar over Janet Jackson's accidently and BRIEF nipple flash from the superbowl are probably the freakiest behind closed doors. some of these law makers who championed "moral values" during bush's 2004 campaign have since been caught in S&M parlours, one was caught sending sexual messages to a 16 year old page in the whitehouse and another one was caught in a "gay situation" in a bathroom! so please tell me what is worse? folks being NATURAL or those who condemn nudity and yet get caught in all sorts of freaky situations?

as for me? when im in my own house or even in the backyard deck, if i feel like being topless or nude, then i will be. if any body sees it...OH WELL.

You know, I used to feel that way. As I've gotten older though, I've become somewhat less prudish. I figure I've just grown more comfortable in my skin. I mean, I'm a pretty good looking guy. I'm not a full on nudist or anything, but the idea doesn't bother me near as much as it used to.

I think I started being a nudist when I was little. My Mom used to put those old-school pajama sets on me with the booties and I'd get hot! So I'd always strip it off with it dragging on the floor. I'd crack my parents up strutting around in my diaper and my pajama's flowing. I remember my mom snapped a few nude pictures of me in the bathtub and I looked pissed! LOL! I had this pissed off look, I laugh every time I see it.

Now as I got older the same thing applies. I can and do sleep in the nude at times, depending on my mood. During hot summer nights the clothes come off. I'm the type whose always warm, I'm like a heat rock lol which is why one of my nick names is "Heat".

I do walk around nude at times, not all the time because there are other people around lol. I've never gone skinny dipping but I would if I was in better shape. I've never been to a beach and I wouldn't until I got in shape lol.

I've never been a prude and I'm all for nudity, sexuality, sex, etc. I'm half Scorpio here we think about sex often! Lol. But I think nudity is beautiful, its like art to me. Plus its invigorating so go for it! Strip it down. :D

For some reason, you reminded me of a former girl friend. She liked engaging in sex in public places for much the same reason. nobody REALLY wants a "perfect" body. what most people want is to be their personal best. we can all take steps toward that. Cutting soda/pop out of one's diet is probably the single BIGGEST step toward losing weight (if that's your issue). MORE water intake, more physical activity (at least 30 minues of walking a day for a start) can all lead to weight loss.

in the end nudity isnt about being "sexy" all the time. like Heather said, its about being FREE and Like i said...its NATURAL. we were born naked, we shower naked, we are naked with our partners , why SHOULDNT a person be comfortable being nude when they are ALONE?

Have to tell you, as a diabetic, diet pop won't put weight on you unless you eat the cans and bottles. Water intake is important period along with physical activity. But sometimes, one has to accept that it's normal and healthy to not be slim. Learn to be happy with the way you are. People don't like you, I say a very rude thing to them as their not worth the time.

Ever try to shower not naked? Kind of defeats the purpose. One should be comfy being nude, but I like pants. Crumbs in the wrong place can hurt and leather can really hurt on a hot day. Mind you, I told that, since I'm a cat I wouldn't know..........

So do you? Did you before that study?

I've never found that at all. The only poor affect that can happen is dehydration can happen. It's the soda's salt content accumulating.

What else did it say?

That's correct! :hehe2: I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I love scary movies, I love speeding, I love rollercoasters, I love fighting, and I love the thrill of being caught. I’m not the type whose shy or meek lol. I like to be provocative by the things I say and do, which includes public sex. My favorite was the movie theaters and a car in heavy traffic. I knew people could peer into the car and see us but I didn’t car. If they didn’t wanna see then they should have looked away LOL.

I have this ‘I don’t care’ attitude about my sexuality, nudity, or life in general. My mother went to the original Woodstock 1969, she grew her own weed back in the day, and she burned her bra in protest of them. So you could say that freedom of expression is encouraged in my family. As long as I’m safe, happy, and the other person is the same then its okay.

My previous lover was shy of their body as well, wanting the lights to be out or immediately putting their clothes on. Her body was athletic but she had a self-conscious issue. I always felt sexually charged especially after lovemaking that I would walk around the hotel room nude. Nudity is beautiful, it’s a freedom of expression.

Women tend to look at their bodies more so than men. We take into perspective what we like, what needs improvement, and what we hate. Yes, I have all three areas that I’ve rated on myself. I’m hardly fabulous looking but I’m not the most atrocious thing out there either.

I think if people let go of consciously “thinking about their body” that they would feel sexy no matter what they look like.
