Orlando Bloom Up For Young James Bond?

Sky Movies (http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=8960#) reports (via Dark Horizons) that Orlando Bloom (http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=8960#) is up for the role of young James Bond (http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=8960#):

Sky Movies reports the British hunk is in serious talks about a series of films (http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=8960#) based on an idea by a new author about the early life of the MI6 agent. Bloom says "I love the idea, in principle, as he can be far more adventurous and do more stunts. This is as near as I think I will get to playing the grown up James for the next 20 years."

This film (http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=8960#) series, which Miramax and Dreamworks have both been barracking for already, would be based on a new series of young 007 novels which began this year with 'Silverfin' which has already become a best seller.

"I'm not doing young James Bond" he said, "My manager, my agent have never mentioned it to me, not to date. Young or old it has never been mentioned to me. I don't know where that came from, but I've never heard a whiff of it" said Bloom.

The rumours that were out there had him starring in "Silverfish" as a young James Bond who during break from college learns of dangerous genetic experiments going on at a remote castle.
