I know i'm one of very few (hopefully more to come soon!) soap fans on this board, but I just wanted to make a post congratulating Genie Francis and RIck Hearst for their Daytime Emmy wins this evening!!! WOO!
For those of you who live under a rock (:raspberry), Genie Francis plays Laura Spencer, one half of the most well known and popular super couples in daytime history, Luke and Laura. She has been playing the role of Laura since she was 14 (nearly 31 years!) and has been nominated 3 pervious times (if memory serves..), but has lost. So tonight was her first win!! I'm so happy for her! It was soooooooo well deserved!
And Rick Hearst is just my yummy eye candy. :D He is an absolute DOLL and is such a talented actor. He has won a Daytime Emmy 2 previous times, and he won tonight as well! Even though his character was a complete jackass this past year, lol, his acting was just amazing. Here's one of his scenes he submitted this year, giving him the win.

BTW, Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis, should have been nominated this year. She submitted those scenes as well....and well, the acadamy is just freakin' stupid. :rolleyes:
