Dazzler is a diva with power to match, at times whiney, at other times very proactive, she was TWICE asked to join the Avengers but ultimately settled with the X-men more out of necessity than choice.
Gambit is a man who was once mysterious and charming but is now reviled. He came to the X-men when he befriended a child regressed Storm but he carried a terrible secret that would change his relationship with the X-men forever and NOW....well im sure you all know what's going on with him lol.
Dazzler's powers involve sound and light, her mutant ability to take sound, ANY sound and transduce it into various manifestations of light including: holograms, forcefields, focused pressor beams/photon blasts, laser blasts, strobe effects and more. her powers activate at "speed of light" and she can channel her power through ANY part of her body.
Dazzler is also an olympic class athlete/gymnast and specializes in FLUENT hand to hand combat while roller skating at high speeds. (she's even been shown to nail a foe in the face with a well placed roundhouse kick WITH the roller skates on lol)
Dazzler has nailed such foes as Rogue, Sabretooth, Juggernaunt, Wolverine, Blob, Enchantress and Klaw.
She's been able to match and check Havok in "sparring" matches and often enjoyed a healthy rivalry with him due to the nature of their powers.
Gambit is a master thief and escape artist, skilled in hand to hand combat and an aces gymnast as well. his power involving the ability to charge any object with kinetic energy and detonate the power, he has even been able to beat back Gladiator in one instance.
Would Gambit be FAST enough to evade light speed attacks? would he fare well if his vision was taken away from him by a "dazzle blast"? would his charms WORK on the diva who has dated such characters as Johnny Storm and Warren Worthington III.
