X-men your way

The X-men have had so many rosters in their 40 + years in print. Some have been amazing, some have made you ask "why?" and others have been downright unpopular.

There's enough of a difference in the age range of most comic readers on this board that i think we all remember quite a few different rosters. If you had your choice, who would you cast in the line up for the Uncanny X-men comic? pick your team and list why you chose each person!

my list:

Storm- leader

Wolverine co- leader, balance to Storm

Dazzler- energy projector, diva

Magik- magick user, team teleporter

ShadowCat- intelligence, fighter

Psylocke- (untainted british version) team telepath

Madelynne Pryor- every X team needs a "red head" and she's far better "red head" to have than Jean Grey, IMMENSELY powerfull telekinetic and back up teleporter.

Colossus- physical power house with other advantages besides mere physical super strength.


Alternates: Sage, Phoenix III/Marvel Girl III (Rachel), Rogue, Havok


my team is composd of mostly women...and there was a time (during the 80's) when the Uncanny X-men was mainly women and this was right around the time i started the comic. the women were edgy, powerfull and capable of holding their own even with only one or two men present. the alternates i chose were characters that could easily fill in any vacancies left by my mainstays.

Farrah we pretty much would have the same list I would go with:

Storm - Leader. Come on She would have to be on the team. She just kicks so much ass and is like a STAPLE of the X-Men team, and proved to be more formidable than many other leaders of the X-Men team, like when she took control from Scott in the danger room by ripping his visor off, all while sporting an awesome mohawk. Great!

Colossus - He is the only male that I know about in terms of how he can fight physically so I would have to choose him, plus it would be cool to see him fight alongside his sister. He would be a great asset to the team.

Sage - Co Leader. I would use her for intelligence/fighting. I like the edge she has and the history around her and I think she could really do some good work with Storm. I know they were on the same team in the search for Destiny's diaries.. I don't know how that worked out but it seems Sage would do well to be a co-leader.

Psylocke/Emma Frost - I like either of them as the telepath. Although Emma went soft. Psylocke was the first character I actually really liked after picking up some Marvel Comics from back in the day. I agree Psylock before she went all weird.

Magik - I would use the Exiles version of Magik. She was so mean and cutthroat and just AWESOME! Like she knew she might die so she was like ready to team up with Weapon X and let them die to save her ass. She was great in Exiles. She can teleport and weild magick so she would be a good asset.

Northstar - Not saying he is better than Dazzler in terms of energy projecting, but I really liked him later on in New X-Men: Academy X as one of the teachers in the school and I liked how he uses his powers, and I think he would be a good balance for the team. He is probably the only actual Marvel character I would like to try and RP one of these days.

I have mostly women as well because everything I learned about Marvel I learned from Farrah lol ;)

But the ones I do like I decided on my own.
