It appears 20th Century Fox has bought the rights too the worlds most selling computer game ever The Sims from Electronic Arts the reason being that they have sold over 85 million copies worldwide. Now this is one thing i think can only end in disaster. Or???

So they are making a Sims movie or they just bought the rights to have creative control over the game?

How do you make a movie based off of the Sims? Those games had barely any stories. Something tells me this is going to crash and burn faster than the 1920's incarnation of the Stock Market.

That was exactly what i was thinking as well.
Seems totally off if ya ask me. At best, maybe they will make a story about god actually being a 14 year old kid who is playing The Sims :p

this will probably be as grand a flop as the final fantasy movie  i personally never thought the Sims were all that as a video game. it encourages a severe detachment from reality i think , in a way most other video games do not.

NOW they want to make a movie? Fox really needs to get a grip.

I don't think Fox has the ability to get a grip. It's obvious that they are not able to see that The Sims is not a property that you can change into a Movie. It just won't work. It will never work. But obviously all they care about is money...it's sad really.
