<< just a week as past since their mini epic adventure which spanned timelines and spatial boundaries and cemented the fact that gods and goddesses were more than "myths and legends".>>

<< The Six adjust to life back in mainstream New York and within the skyscraping technological jewel known as Illustra but there's one noticeable difference, the 106th floor, which was occupied for so long by Alison Marble is now silent and empty.>>

<< the six must carry on, for life..even without a dear trusted friend by their side...will not stop.>>

<< on this on this gloomy saturday morning, the skies are rather gray and flowing and it's raining hard enough that even on the 107th floor, the rain pelts the windows and provides a soft lulling effect. rain like this makes for good sleeping weather and inspite of all that has happened lately, most of the members of the six have the benefit of getting some rest today. but even as they rest and slumber, some of the smallest inhabitants of the six are awake..and prowling.>>

<< on Nicolas' floor, while the young sleeps the shadows in one corner of his large room lengthen as a pair of blue eyes come into a view and the sleek form of a siamese cat comes into view as Tinkerbell slips in from the shadows.>>

Tinkerbell
05-06-2007, 04:56 PM
:: it's a different view for Tinkerbell, the sleek siamese cat who is also the beloved enchanted familiar of Spellbinder. As she appears from the shadows in a corner of Nicolas' apartment, she moves silently and cautiously, looking here and there...her little nose twitching as the detects scents unique to this place. But Tinkerbell is not alone, her little surrogate "sister", the kitten given to Morgan by Haleigh as a peace offering a while back is in tow as well and she is not so silent as her older "sister" for she wears little collar with a tiny bell around her neck.::

:: Tinkerbell prowls along the floor cautiously with the kitten follows along...but not as diligently.::

:: those who have become aquainted with this special resident of Illustra know that many of her actions can have some hidden message or meaning, but like all siamese, she's very bossy and territorial as well. She's known for randomly appearing and exploring other floors and even apartments of those who secretly dwell in the top residential floors of the six.::

:: as she creeps along, she takes time to investigate things like shoes, and the legs of furniture, rubbing against some items so as to "mark" her territory. the kitten however has other ideas as she decides to climb up on Nicolas' bed. she's smaller than tinkerbell and gets lost a bit in the folds and gatherings of the covers on his bed as she makes a game of crawling through the makeshift tunnels...finally she begins the bold task of walking softly across Nicolas' legs up toward his stomach and chest. his breathing makes her a bit nervous as she comes closer to his face...her curiosity prompting her to stare directly at at the sleeping man.::

:: tinkerbell , meanwhile, has made her way to the doorwall that leads out to his balcony even as the rain falls and trails down the glass doors, Tinkerbell sits in a perfect feline pose as her blue eyes look with intent. what does she see?""

:: her tails moves ever so slightly as she looks out and the only thing that is clearly apparent is the memoral to Gustav, Nicolas' adoptive father and Sharon Kelly, the fallen senator of New York who was Gustav's personal friend as well as an ally of the Six. The busts of these two fallen people remain strong and defined even as the rain falls and in the silence of Nicolas' room, Tinkerbell seems to be look at Sharon more so that Gustav...but why?::

:: she turns her head a bit..the pupils of her eyes now narrow slits and continues to stare. but as the curious kittens draws closer and closer to her sleeping target on the bed, Tinkerbell moves up to the glass doors and stands up on her hand legs, wanting to some how open the doors to the balcony. her tail sways a bit as she mews a bit. but the cries of a siamese are not easily overlooked and are sure to wake Nicolas. even as the kitten is now firmly planted on his chest, watching his face up close.::

<< even as Nicolas is the first among the Six to receive "unexpected visitors" this dreary day, across space and dimensions, there are OTHERS who must awaken and acclimate to their surroundings as well.>>

<< Limbo, specifically, the spacious, sprawling garden that is Ororo's realm within Limbo. Here all life is nutured and treasured...much like she did on earth when she was worshiped as a Goddess in her native Africa..even BEFORE she became Storm. Now in Limbo, this garden remains an enduring symbol of Ororo's triumph over Belasco and the evil that he sought to corrupt her soul with. The Six have been here many times. It has been a haven and sanctuary for them in times most dire and Ororo has been a strong nuturing, motherly figure to many among that time, helping them where she could and guiding them as best she could.>>

Ororo
05-06-2007, 05:13 PM
:: today is a special day. one that Ororo knew would come but she had not informed the Six, so that they could better focus on the tasks and challenges they had to face over the past month.::

:: in her large stone Citadle that is in the center of the seemingly endless garden, Ororo moves about in the dimly lit apothecary on the top floor of this fortress. she hums a soft song that she remembered her own mother singing to HER as a baby...many moons ago. funny how some things endure...even when you become an immortal "goddess sorceress" in an eldritch realm. ::

:: small enchanted faeries flit about high above near the domed ceiling and outside the carved out windows of the stone wall, the echo of the bubbling, cascading waterfall creates a soft echo inside the citadle.::

:: the elegant woman wears a white dress with a blue robe. her silver hair is long and straight, parted down the middle and flows down to the small of her back. Ororo is a very beautifull older woman and her immortality allows her to remain the picture of bewitching elegance and grace.::

:: she seems to be gathering potions and items designed for refreshment and nurishment and nearby, there is a man's robe made of the most exquistely spun silk, a basket of the freshest fruits picked from the many large trees and grape vines in Ororo's garden is also there. it appears that she could be receiving a guest or taking care of someone...but who?::

:: in the center of the large, circular apothecary a pentagram composed of shimmering green mystic flames is manifested and in the center of that pentagram...a large "egg" shapped formation can be seen, the formation shimmers and glows at various moments and it is quite large...large enough perhaps to contain a human form!::

:: the soft din of the pentagram does not outdo Ororo's own majestic tune as she hums softly and moves with calm ease. she looks over to the "egg" within the pentagram and nods with approval.::

Ororo:the time for you to return is near, young one. you will be ready to face reality as it is, and strong enough to function on your own once more. it has been a while, but you needed this rest, this break from all things mortal and earth bound

:: spoken, with a deeper, motherly tone, the sorceress returns to her task at hand as the "egg" continues to shimmer and glow. someone apparently is about to be reborn and returned to their life as they once knew it. Someone who has been here before but not under the most pleasant circumstances.::

For Nicolas it has been a interesting past few days. The team has had to deal with the absence of its tactician and how to pick up their lives as they have moved on.

First, he had the names of the men lost on the isle of Aerie found (by mysterious death public records in the area) and all of their families received special "gifts". These gifts provided them whatever his analysts thought was needed. For some, that was a free college education, for some a family car and a better job for mom. For others it was cash to pay off the mortgage or something else that would put them on the path to success. Whatever it was, his men were to find it and provide it. They were also to check back in one year to see what would additionally needed. Finally, the funeral arrangements for all of them that could be found were taken care of, all anonymously. Nicolas had enough on his conscience to deal in terms of his hand in killing them (two sleepless nights), he did not want to doom their families as well through his actions.

He also exerted control over his holdings, tweaking things as needed (although his advisers had little need of his input, he always managed to do SOME good). He threw himself into things in the hope that he could find a way to center himself that way. The proceedings kept him from doing what he vowed to do: spend time with Morgan. But that was to change. As he went to bed Friday, he vowed that she would see him tomorrow, no matter what.

He was just dreaming of what he could do with her, a smile on his face, when he heard a mewling across the room. His eyes snapped open but he lay still analyzing what was going on. His father had taught him that it was VERY dangerous for one such as himself to have hasty or wasted movements, so he was pleasantly surprised to see Morgan's small kitten perched on his chest. With a low stretching moan he greeted it.

Hello kitty. Decided to scout ahead for mommy today? This <<pointing to the bed>> is Nicolas' bed. Tell her its REAL comfy.I hear your buddy, let's see what's going on.

He gently picks up the kitten as he sits up and steps out of the bed in one fluid motion. He is nude (as he always sleeps) and so he grabs a pair of pajama bottoms laying on a chair and pulls them on as he steps into his main area. He sees Tinkerbell working at the door to the balcony. he steps over to the cat and opens the door.

What's the matter, girl? What's bothering you?

Nicolas history reading included so-called myths, so he was quite well-versed on the extrasensory powers of familiars. He stretched a bit as he entered the balcony...

<< the rain continues to fall, as it hits the glass of Illustra on its many floors, the soft, pitter pat of the rain provides a lulling "white noise" effect. and in Morgan's chamber of dreams, the nude, slumbering sorceress finds this a most welcoming effect.>>

<< despite the pain of "losing" Alison, the last caper the team had been on went relatively well. no casualties and in many ways...several members were given a second chance and Morgan herself was now finally blessed by Hecate and "Sorceress Supreme" of her timeline's earth.>>

<< still, super hero issues not withstanding, Morgan had a grueling schedule as the ceo and signature super model of Illustra. everything from meetings, to workouts to keep her own body in top form and now having to handle Alison's portfolio while still keeping MUM on the exact whereabouts of Ms. Marble had left Morgan VERY tired and this was only a week in!>>

<< this rainy saturday was just the thing she needed...a chance to rest and relax...no cares, no deadlines, no rushing. besides...in the coming days, Illustra would reach FEVER PITCH as they had entered into a lucrative deal to work with MADONNA for a " music and fashion come together to fight breast cancer" concert/gala event to be hosted at the Parthenon, the hotel left to her by Cameron King and the official celebrity and special guests ONLY after party at XS. for Morgan, to be able to work with her idol in a professional capacity was the stuff her DREAMS were made of. She had often hobknobbed with Madonna and other powerfull "gal pals" as pictures around her luxury penthouse would proove...but THIS was a special project for all involved.>>

<< still at this moment, Morgan rested...not entirely aware that her babies, Tinkerbell and the kitten were off prowling through SOMEONE ELSE'S floor and apartment.>>

<< she turned in her sleep, the satin sheets of her bed wrapped around her as she enjoyed her rest, no real schedule for the day...but it would certainly be a good opportunity to visit with other members of the Six..like Nicolas.>>

<< the kitten flinched a bit as Nicolas awakened and greeted her, but his gentle demeanor to her despite his looks, allowed her to be a little less fearfull. she was shivering a bit as he carefull picked her up and carried her along. he seemed nice. his hands were soft and he carried her just right so that she didnt have too much pressure on her underbelly.>>

<< her brought her along and found Tinkerbell, who seemed to want to go out onto the balcony. her mewing caused the kitten's ears to turn back a bit as Tinker seemed a little uneasy.>>

<< as Nicolas asked Tinkerbell what was bother her, Tinkerbell hesitated. bobbing her head a bit as she raised up one her front paws and batted at the glass some more before looking up at Nicolas who was standing over her.>>

<< she meowed more directly this time, before letting herself back down on all fours and ran out onto the balcony as well. thankfull it was covered so she did not get wet.>>

<< tinkerbell immediately ran up to Sharon Kelly's memorial and looked up at it intently. once again standing on her hand legs. her tail moving a bit more rapid, indicating that something was bothering her, but why Sharon's image?>>

<< everything looked so large from tinkerbell's point of view and she looked back at Nicolas once more.>>

<< a soft chime tone went off, indicating it was time to wake up. Morgan's sleepy, icy violet eyes slowly opened as she slowly sat up and stretched, letting the satin sheets fall from her toned, supple form. she looked around and noticed that tinkerbell and the kitten were not on the bed. perhaps they were already in the kitchen waiting for freshly opened breakfast? typical divas...more like their "mother" than she would admit.>>

<< as she slowly slipped out of her large, circular bed, she went over to her glass doors to her balcony and opened them to let the fresh morning air in. if a few rain drops happened to fall into her chamber of dreams, it wouldnt be of much consequence. she let the air kiss her nude form as she closed her eyes and breathed deeply. thunder rolled softely in the grey skies outside>>

<< reaching for a silk silver gem toned mini robe, Morgan wrapped it around herself as she ran her fingers through her blonde hair and pulled it back and up into a loosely gathered "up" do. still no sign of tinkerbell, who was usually on hand to greet and/or prod her mommy into the kitchen for breakfast. even the kitten was no where in sight.>>

<<sigh>>

<< Morgan was happy to have a day of leisure, especially since the upcominog week promised to be chaotic and euphoric all at once. but still, she could already feel the absence of Alison from Illustra and from the family that lived in the secret residential floors.>>

<< walking along slowly, she passed by a framed picture on the wall, a picture of herself, alison, alycia, diddy and boris kodjoe. it was the not the Parthenon was officially reopened and had announced its merger with Illustra Inc. what a beautifull and EVENTFULL night that had been...for while the festivities went off without a hitch...the gathering was eventually scandalized by the hypersexual machinations of former team member Bane and CRASHED by Alexis Quartermaine aka Shockwave's evil aunt Helena Quartermaine....oh the verbal barbs she and Alison exchanged...PRICELESS!! Morgan laughed softly as she remembered, looking at Alison who wore that eye popping if not headline grabbing black leather Versace dress..a dress that would have made Madonna proud.>>

<< down the main hallway and past several guest rooms, Morgan finally emerged out into the sprawling, multileveled main area of the penthouse. hitting the kitchen first. Tinkerbell and the kitten were not out there!>>

hmmm..

Tink??

<< Morgan called for her familiar, making the clicking noise that often grabbed tinkerbell's attention.>>

where are you baby?

<< she walked around, looking down, sometimes bending down to look behind furniture or under tables...and sometimes looking UP to the installed cat walk the covered the perimeter of the large vaulted ceilings above. still no sign of tink or the kitten.>>

babies??

<< Morgan continued to look moving down one flight of stairs to the living room area, before checking the sunken in sitting room, then on to the main dining room and finally crossing the way...to the foyer and the main double doors.>>

where are you?

<< she looked around, tying her robe up, she wondered if they had gotten out into the hallway of the 107th floor. But Tinkerbell did have a habit of "leaving" and often turning up in other people's apartments. Perhaps she was visiting someone of the Six this morning and the kitten had followed along.>>

<< as Morgan looks for her familiar and kitten, the rain outside finally begins to wane. with cool breezes blowing. it will be a mild day but a gray day. a fitting reflection of the mood of some of those in the Six since Alison's departure.>>

<< Nicolas handled Morgan's kitten with gentle care as he opened the doors for Tinkerbell to come out and explore the balcony of his apartment. She seemed drawn to the image of Sharon Kelly but was not communicating in her own "special" way WHY. as the rains began to fall back and cool breeze came through, some birds could be heard...just a few at first but then it seemed there were more in the air. surprising for Nicolas was quite high up in Illustra.>>

<< Tinkerbell continued to show signs of uneasiness as she meowed and raised up on her back legs, reaching her front paw up as much as she could toward the bust of Sharon Kelly.>>

<< curious indeed. even more so when sparrow came charging onto the balcony. the flutter of its wings startling the small kitten in Nicolas arm's. the sudden and rather bold arrival of the sparrow caught Nicolas' attention....as it was now perched on Sharon's bust. was THAT what Tinkerbell was anticipating? but why would she come all the wy to his apartment just for a little bird?>>

::Tinkerbell's meows become more agitated and disjointed. a characteristic of siamese when they are agitated or intent on something.::

:: the morning rain , which had been a night storm before, now wanes and the first sound of birds can be heard in the air, more with each passing moment before a sparrow dares to charge onto the balcony.::

::this is unacceptable! who does this twerp of a bird think it is?? not only is this creature natural prey , but it seems to be rather bold and agressive for a sparrow.::

:: Tinkerbell looks at Nicolas, who is holding the kitten and the kitten hisses at the bird. Tinkerbell's tail swishes with agitation as she crouches down, sizing up the bird as she stalks it. her ears back and low...her tail swishes from side to side.::

:: the bird displays the most agressive behavior for a bird of it's size that Nicolas has seen since settling at Illustra as it charges for the kitten and flaps its wings menacingly at Nicolas but as suddenly as it comes, it is taken down by TINKERBELL!::

:: no bird is going to threaten HER territory and true to the form of a siamese, Tinkerbell considers ALL of Illustra to be her personal playground and no one OR any THING will treaten the kitten if SHE has anything to do with it!::

:: with the speed, strength and agility of a cat, she leaps up in perfect arc form intersecting the bird and slamming it down to the ground...playing with it roughly for a bit before finally killing it, growling a bit as she tears into the bird. after making sure its dead, looks up at Nicolas.::

:: the expression on her face suggesting: what? this is what cat's do!::

:: she licks her chops a few times, before picking up and holding the bird in her mouth. her striking blue eyes' pupils are still narrow slits right now and she purrs as she seems to offer the dead bird to Nicolas as a gift. "See? i've killed the bird!::

As Nicolas stands outside with the two cats, he notices that there are several birds flying about...interesting, because theses are songbirds, notorious for cruising at lower altitudes than they were currently enjoying. One of the sparrows perched on Sharon's bust, which prompted an angry response from the kitten. As he thought of how to gently shoo it away, it charged for the kitten, Nicolas was set to pluck it out of the air when TINKERBELL showed her feline lineage and took it down, looking more like a cheetah than a housecat. As it snapped the bird's neck, it offered its kill to Nicolas, a sign of affection.

That's alright champ. It's all you.

The cat turned and entered his apartment with the bird -- this one would be hard to explain to the cleaning lady-- and Nicolas followed behind, waiting for her to settle. He approached her, hand out, and waited until she decided to cede the fowl to him. He caressed the Siamese, then turned and put the bird in the trash, washing his hands afterwards.

Now ladies, let's go find Mommy.

Walking to the elevator, unconcerned about his level of dress (or undress), he went with the cats to Morgan's penthouse. Smiling, he knocked on the door and waited for her to arrive, with Tinkerbell in one arm and the kitten in the other.

[ Delilah had fallen asleep on the couch, the book she had been reading splayed open across her chest. She had spent the past week mostly alone, grieving the loss of Alison. But there had been something else playing on her mind, something she couldn't quite grasp. Like a dream she couldn't quite remember when she woke.

It had been there, at the back of her brain, since they returned from Greece. And then, as she slept to the cadence of the rain against the windows of the living room, it suddenly came to the forefront. She sat up quickly, knocking the book to the floor. It had been like a dream - or, rather, a nightmare - but she knew that it wasn't. It was a memory, forgotten for a time, but now thrust into her conciousness like a knife.

[ Delilah spread her fingers wide. Her body began to glow brighter and brighter until she was blinding. She began to rise from the ground, becoming almost like a ray of light floating in the air. Her eyes were solid green now - the whites completely disappeared in the jewel toned color. Her blonde hair flowed around her and looked almost white in its brightness. Her body looked fluid now, and Persephone's whip fell to the ground as she slipped out of its grasp. She looked down at Persephone on the ground, eyes blazing with a ferocity the others would have rarely seen in Delilah. Reaching one arm out, palm facing out in a "stop" motion, she sent a powerful focused ultrasound beam directed at Persephone which could easily liquify living tissue. Throwing the other arm out, fingers pointed out and spread wide, she sent a pressor beam of photon energy out. The two beams intertwined as they made their way to Persephone, hitting her full on with the entire force of Delilah's power. Her voice boomed from her mouth, hardly sounding her own. ]

:: Falling to the floor in a heap, Persephone's leather battle suit was burnt at various places, exposing her bloodied and chared skin. Barely breathing, Persephone knew that her odds for living through the battle were slim to none, but it was ironic that she would fall at the hands of one of her teammates. Persephone's vision began to blur to black before her eyes slowly fell shut. Taking her last breath before her body went limp, Aphrodite had succeeded...Persephone was dead.::

In the commotion following their battle on Olympus and time being rewound, they had never addressed what had happened to them the first time. She wiped a hand across her sweaty forehead. Her racing heart was starting to beat more normally. What had she done? And could Persephone ever forgive her? She needed to do something, make this right.

She got up and went to the phone.

********

An hour later she was standing outside of Persephone's door, two bags from Parea in her hands. She rang the doorbell.

Pam De Beaufort

:: Rain pelted against the windows of Persephone's apartment. The only sound that could be heard in the quiet and dark living space. She hadn't made much of an appearence the past couple of days. Her mind sorting through everything that had happened. Cuddled up in bed next to Onyx, her female black panther, Persephone may have had to make some changes in her life, but settling for domesticated animals was not one of them. With Onyx purring loudly, she laided sprawled on her back in a deep slumber. Persephone ran her hand down her chest, smoothing out her soft fur as she watched television. ::

:: The loud chimes of her doorbell began to ring throughout the house, immediately alerting Onyx, and causing her to jump out of bed and prance down the hall and to the door. Persephone, however, wasn't as eager. Flipping the television off, she pushed the black satin sheets from her body and slid herself off of her elevated bed. Wearing black cotton draw string short shorts and a black cotton cami, Persephone made her way down the hall and through the livingroom to the large double doors. A high tech small monitor next to her door showed that it was Delilah, holding a couple of bags. Unlocking the door, Persephone opened it. ::

"Delilah?...What are you doing here?"

:: Tucking a few stray curled locks behind her ear, Onyx poked her head between the door frame and Persephone's thigh, wanting a better look at the guest. Her piercing gold eyes studied Delilah for a moment before she opened her mouth , showing her huge ivory fangs, and hissing. ::

"Onyx, stop."

:: Persephone looked down at her feline friend, her face stern. Persephone sensed that Onyx picked up on her hesitation about Delilah being there. She was simply trying to protect her master. But as soon as Persephone ordered her to stop, she looked up with apologetic eyes and retracted her head back, disappearing into the darkness of the apartment. ::

"I apologize. Her hiss is louder than her bite."

:: Opening the door so Delilah could enter. ::

"Come in."

"You must of read my mind. I'll get some plates."

:: Naturally, Greek food was her favorite. Italian and French a close second. Flipping on the lights, the entire room instantly lit up, revealing Persephone's apartment. This was actually the first tim Delilah had been here, if Persephone recalled correctly. The penthouse was decorated with rich, dark woods, ancient Greek insipired art, and black fabrics. It actually looked like a smaller version of a few rooms in Persephone's Castle in the Underworld. ::

:: Walking to the kitchen, she could hear Delilah apologizing for showing up unexpectedly. Grabbing two large black square plates, Persephone shut the cabinet. ::

"Don't worry about it. I just wasn't expecting company today."

:: Walking out of the kitchen, Persephone walked over to the large diningroom table, placing the plates and utensils down. ::

"A lot happened in Greece...anything specific?"

:: Gesturing to a free chair, Onyx came prancing over, sitting right where the food was being placed at, on the table. Anywhere food was, Onyx was. Sometimes Persephone wondered if she owned a pig or a panther. ::

"Would you like anything to drink?"

:: Cameron was sitting in the most beautiful technicolor fields he had ever seen in his life. The wind blew softly through his hair as he took in the bright blue sky. It was peaceful here for him. Young Cameron: You're healed Cameron. We can both sense it. It's time for you to leave this place...Are you ready?

:: Prophet sat pondering the notion of leaving this paradise. His first thought was to stay forever and bask in the warm sun and perfection of the scenery, but he knew better, he was needed, back in reality. The only hard part was returning. Would things be very different? Would his friends welcome him back with open arms or prosecute him for his dissappearance? Either way, it was something that he was going to have to face, for himself, for the Six, and for Ororo. ::

"I think I am as ready as I will ever be, kid. I've got wounds to mend, people to see, and things to accomplish. Are you ready to take me back to Ororo?"

:: Without a word the child put his tiny hand into Cameron's as they walked along the grass fields, heading into the sunlight. The brightness continued in intensity until he began to hear a peaceful humming. A song. It was Ororo, and as Cameron walked closer to her song, everything faded into white for a fleeting moment. ::

:: The next thing Cameron remembered was waking up on the floor of the apothecary, completely naked, though feeling completely relaxed as if he had just had the best nap of his life. He stood up on his feet which looked like a newborn horse trying to walk for the first time. His vision was blurry but the first thing that faded into view was none other than the heavenly visage of Ororo. ::

"Ororo...I...I'm back..."

:: For the first time in a long time he felt the emotion of his own embarrassment and he softly picked up the silken robe and put it on his body. :: Moving around the table to the side bar, Persephone picked up a pitcher of water and poured it into a glass tumbler. Pouring herself something a bit stronger, she turned around and handed Delilah her water. Her apology came as a bit of a surprise. It wasn't Delilah's fault, she was under Aphrodite's control. But it was still sweet of her to come all the way here and do so. ::

"Aphrodite can be extremely cunning. She manipulated you into killing me, it wasn't your fault."

:: Taking a small swig of her brandy, Persephone sat down where the food was placed and began to help open the containers. ::

"Plus, who am I to judge when I murdered my own mother."

:: Her voice lowered considerbly as she spoke of her mother. It was still a hard concept to grasp that Demeter was now a mortal living on Paradise Island. After thousands of years of living with her death, then suddenly her being alive, would shake up anyone. Scooping some food onto her plate, Persephone coaxed Onyx off the table with a piece of chicken, which she gladly ate up. "I know it shouldn't feel like this. I shouldn't be acting like she's dead. She's not. But it feels like she is. It feels likes she's died and I couldn't save her."

[ She turned her head and looked out the window. ]

"I know I should be happy for her, but I can't."

[ She looked back at Persephone, and changed the subject. ]

"So...should we start calling you Ava now, or what?"

Haleigh lay quietly, tangled in the bed sheets, half in and half out of them, with her leg casually strewn across a still sleeping Zach. The pitter patter on the windows across the room was as soothing as the sound of Zach's steady breathing, and Haleigh watched him lazily as he began to stir. He was the most peaceful sleeper, and watching him was so calming that Haleigh could just watch him ALL NIGHT, and forget about her worries a while. It was a guilty pleasure though.... as Zach found it slightly disturbing and creepy. As his body gets closer to awareness, Haleigh lays her head on his shoulder, tracing her fingers through his chest hair, feigning innocence as he wakes up. He grabs her wrist softly to stop her, his voice groggy.

"That tickles...."

Haleigh giggles softly. "Sorry... its such a dreary day... I wanted to crawl back into bed with you after I started some paperwork..."

Zach:"Paperwork??? It's Saturday. You're not supposed to do paperwork. You're supposed to laze about and do absolutely nothing remotely professional." He teased, wrapping his arms around her and nuzzling her cheek. Haleigh wrinkled her nose playfully.

"You know what YOU'RE supposed to do? Brush your goddamn teeth 'cause your breath is terribly unpleasant."

Zach gave her the hairy eye. "Well, PRINCESS..... I'm sorry if my breath offended thee.... but you're a CHEATER-- you never sleep... the rest of us mere mortals must deal with this side effect of rest."

Haleigh smiled, wrapping her leg tightly around him and giving him a kiss. "I know... Don't worry, I still like you. You know... I was thinking.... we can almost certainly hold the reception at the Parthenon-- or if we were feeling really bold, even XS... but we should make a decision on the venue for the ceremony itself soon. I've got a bunch of places that I've been looking at.... we should visit them together and pick one."

Zach looked at her for a beat, a soft smile on his face. He nodded, as his stomach growled. Haleigh tensed her body as she heard Echo pad into the carpeted room and leap up onto the bed. The boxer proceded to step ALL OVER the couple, lapping a good morning on Zach's face. The man chuckled softly as he pet the dog lovingly, sitting up in bed and pushing him back out of the way. Haleigh propped herself up on her elbows. It was a strangely domestic and oddly COMFORTING moment.... and with tenderness that would not be expected from her. Zach got up out of the bed and mumbled something about food and grabbing the laptop to look at the chapels websites on his way back.

"I had pancakes... I left some in the microwave for you.... and don't FORGET about your teeth!"

she called after him.... she flopped back into her pillow, as Echo crawled up close to her, badgering for her attention. She scratched behind his ears absentmindedly, as thoughts of Alison crept into her mind. She'd checked on her new Greece residence compulsively over the past week... there was only slight comfort in knowing that Alison WAS alive and well... not being able to sense her presence in the floor above was unsettling and gave the perpetual sensation that someone was missing-- gone... and to Haleigh... is sure seemed like that's what it was. Alison was scarcely a part of their lives now... and the abrupt change made Haleigh feel she'd 'lost' Alison in the last caper.

:: several hours had past, the last in a rather LONG "incubation period" which had lasted for over a month, but Ororo was far from anxious or hurried about things such as these for the balance of flesh and spirit was held by the most delicate of bridges.::

:: time passes differently in Limbo and right now, what passed for night time was now in full effect.::

:: Ororo sat at a small table near one of the carved out stone windows of the large, circular apothecary. reading some sort of book by candle light. for her, the passage of time had long lost it's meaning and as such had given her ample time to familiarize herself with some of the most ancient forms of language and demonology. it was an enrichment that in her her youth, when she was a super powered mutant, -even with her cultural awareness- she might not have placed too much emphasis on but on this night, she finds it to be most fascinating. ::

:: after a while, the "egg" in the center of the sparkling green flamed pentagram begins to swell and fluxuate....as the image of a human form begins to show more and more from the shimmering green of the "egg".::

:: as the egg seems to swell with anticipation, finally it cracks and opens allowing the male human to fall gently to the floor. Ororo looks up and sets her book down, making her way over to watch this unfold.::

:: remaining silent as the young man gained consciousness and awareness of his surroundings. he got to his feet and found the covering she'd set out for him. finally as he turned, he saw her and proclaimed he had returned....as if she didnt know?::

:: hugging her, Ororo returned his embrace, but only lightly. she seemed rather stern at the moment, and for good reason.::

Ororo: you have returned to this plane of existence. Let us hope that your mind and body are at peace and reintegrated and that you will not travel the path that OTHERS in your family have as of late.

:: clearly Ororo was embittered. the normally objective and always wise woman seemed to look upon Cameron with uncertainty. Something had happened while Cameron was away and Cameron would recall the way she looked in his horrifying dream when he nearly met his end at the ends of Morgan and how Ororo had admonished him that he'd better LEARN and change...or DEATH would be the prize that awaited him.::

:: here she was now, looking close to how he remembered in her dream. for her part, she wondered if she had truly done the right thing. Alison, finally free of her family's burden had more than moved on. this was a gamble on both sides and not since her EARLIER times in Limbo had Ororo took such risks. But at the root of it all, there was the desire to help and see Cameron recover from his experience at the hands of Malice and that treacherous renegade, Erika. Ororo wouldnt pass judgement on him YET. Instead, she would allow him to present himself. His own actions would reveal just how "ready" he was.::

There is refreshment for you here on the table. :: gesturing to it:: and I have quarters prepared for you. It is not time for you to return to earth..not yet. there are things you need to understand before you go.

:: Cameron listened to Ororo speak. The tone in her voice and look in her eyes spoke volumes. Something was not right back on Earth. Things were not the same, and while Cameron would have liked them to be, he knew that would be too good to be true. The last comment about his family struck a chord with him as he hoped deep down that both of his sisters, even Erika were still alive. This time away had given him perspective on a rather ugly and repenant life. He listened to the rest of her words as she motioned for food on the table, not inquiring outloud about his family but instead waiting for Ororo to give him the information but instead partaking in some of the beautiful looking refreshments. He hadn't realized just how hungry he was until he actually laid his eyes on the food. ::

"Thank you for the refreshments Ororo, I hadn't realized how hungry I was."

:: He put one of the grapes in his mouth and it tasted like NOTHING he had ever tasted before. It was more than filling and juicy and made him feel almost DECADENT. Even still, being back in Limbo his mind, once again had found a way back to the Six. Cameron really just wanted to see his sister again. He wanted to hug her, kiss her, anything. He knew she must have been worried sick, even though she would never admit it outloud. He wanted to play pool with Haleigh and kick back and listen to music with Alexis, there were so many things he wanted to experience again, so many things he wanted to show the others. Wasn't time for him to return? Cameron was almost weary of the things that Ororo wanted him to understand before he went back to Earth, but none the less, this was a woman who had given a chance at life when he would have been left for dead, and she would always have his undying respect and love. He was willing to wait. ::

"I figured I wouldn't be able to go back right away.. What do I need to understand? Is everything okay on Earth? The Six is still alive and kicking? Alison is okay? Your look, it's the same way from a dream I had, a dream in which you were NOT very happy with me, I just don't want to mess this chance up...."

<< and so, the morning begins with promise, as Delilah visits Ava, who by now has more than settled into her new home in Illustra on the floor formerly occupied by Alexis Quartermaine while Haleigh and Zach, the resident "couple" of the team, enjoy each other as well but even as Zach heads off to find breakfast in the kitchen and Haleigh tends to one of her beloved pets, she can't help but think on Alison.>>

<< true to form, Haleigh has kept quiet tabs on Alison even as she now resides in Greece and her feeling is shared by more the one member of the Six. Though Alison is alive and well, she's not with THEM and it feels like she's "lost" to them in some way.>>

<< but Haleigh might not realize that even as she tries to keep watch over Alison, there are others who are all too eager to do the same to HER...without her knowing about it!>>

zooming across town, to an abandonned storefront on a "not so nice" part of time

<< there's nothing special about this building. its old, boarded up, forgotten and the area around the building is not that impressive either. it seems that the area might have been impressive back in the late 60's or 70's...a place where people would shop and stroll on the weekend but now...its a passage way for drug couriers and not the place you'd want to be lost or stranded in.>>

<< but despite the abandonned building being empty on the surface, below ground, DEEP DOWN...there lies a sprawling and thriving technological cell, one of the few hold overs from MysTech and VERY insulated from scrutiny or detection. Malice's last attack on the Six and the city of New York left devastation on such a grand scale and MysTech as an organization had crumbled following the Master Mold disaster....but like any other large body that is shattered, there will always be some remnant, some piece that manages to survive and given enough time...it will grow strength and attempt to reassert itself to its former position.>>

<< this secret technological cell boasts some of MysTech's finest array of satellite control technology as well as information/surveilance systems and of course, a stockpile of powerfull state of the art anti personnel devices and weaponry.>>

<< within this dark place, there is a gathering of men, "suits" if you will. Men who once worked for Malice and the "Inner Circle" and whose lives and families were sustained by hefty investments made into the MysTech ventures...but as MysTech battled with and took heavy hits from the Six and fell under public and federal scrutiny...their influence, their vitality began to wane and fluxuate. Master Mold and Sharon Kelly's death was the straw that broke the camel's back and while Malice staged a largely successfull revenge campaign against the surviving members of The Six, she hadnt counted on Blackout formerly known as Shockwave of the Six becoming so OUT OF CONTROL that she would be beyond Malice's control and become a threat to the city if not the whole east coast. Malice ABANDONNED her men and Mystech...as Shockwave unleashed a holocaust upon the city of New York...and it was Alison Marble that laid her life down to save her friends and prevent MORE destruction than what was visited upon the city and the east coast that night.>>

<< many died and mystech was now the enemy of the state. those of mystech who survived went underground, using their resources to change or erase their identities all together. they remained in hiding as the public backlash against MysTech and all its subsidiaries reached fever pitch. many months have passed and while Malice, the White Queen and seemingly the head of MysTech has not been seen since her last battle with the Six, several survivors of MysTech has come together...biding their time, building their financial strength and making valuable alliances with black market traders, communications specialists and the ever present element of corrupt politicians. "regeneration' was never easy, but the remnants of MysTech had at least regained SOME of their "life" back and were content to remain in the shadows...only dealing in the most covert of operations both on american soil and over seas.>>

<< this cell was able to "see" and "monitor" almost anyone or anything across the continental united states and overseas..the most obvious exceptions being places cloaked by magick and places possessed of comparable cloaking technology to rival their own and while Illustra itself was protected by technology AND magick, HALEIGH, in her current state, had a PERMANENT bond to the spectre of MysTech. The genesis of her current status and powers came in the labs of the Citadle, not to mention her family's long and deep pocketed relationship with mystech that once revealed, drew moreo than mere "shock." indeed, much of who Haleigh is today is due IN LARGE PART to Mystech and a company ALWAYS has a way of keeping tabs on its "PROPERTY" and so, as Haleigh is content to "compulsively" look in on Alison in greece, someone ELSE is more than looking in on her.>>

in the underground cell

<< silhouetted male figures set around a curved counsel and watch a large liquid crystal screen that provides them a complete, live. uninterrupted feed of Haleigh. her vitals, her stats, powers, any possible aliases...it all broad casts in a vertical crawl down the side of the screen.>>

<< one of the male figures speaks.>>

suit 1: it's been long enough. don't you think it's time we brought it back in?

suit 2: it's not that simple. you should know that. look at all the trouble the doctors Adam Chandler and Christopher Victory had with containing it. it was only through Imagiomg's containment of her could they successfully complete the integration of the techno organic virus into her system.

suit 3: AND thanks to the intervention of it's friends..."The Six" as they are called, it has been allowed to run free. it was even DESTROYED by one of it's own supposed allies, a super powered witch named Spellbinder who is widely suspected of being the super model Morgan Victoria, daughter of doctors Christopher Victory and Karen Victoria. It was resurrected/reactivated through unknown means and demonstrated an increase in awareness, understanding and use of its capabilities.

suit 2: do we still have feeds into Dr. Victoria's soho loft and Rockefellar centre office?

suit 3: affirmative. we can use the information we have on Spellbinder to perhaps feed the public's fears and mistrust about the occult..spark an outcry against witches and offer the means to hunt, indentify and ELIMINATE them.

suit 1: << slams fist down on his part of the counsel>> STAY FOCUSED! the witch is too dangerous to even attempt to engage right now. she nearly destroyed the city herself during the Inferno event..the prologue of which included her destroying OUR property [Haleigh]. We need to get OUR property back and recoup our investment, use it to further strengthen our strong hold here and perhaps further build on it. Malice left us high and dry and this is our only chance to truly bounce back.

suit 2: << shakes head>> but it's too well insulated and protected by The Six.

suit 1: they are not infallible. several of them have fallen once or TWICE even and our current sources of information tell us that Alison Marble has recently disappeared. She was , by all accounts a powerfull PRECOG, one of the most DIFFICULT to capture and control during any past ecounter and also the mastermind behind the devistating loss of NERVOUS. Without HER power, neither it nor THEY will be able to anticipate our movements.

we need to begin the first phase of recovery. IT has already become to accostumed to autonomy and has been contaminated by the influence of those that protect it.

<< they spoke of Haleigh as if she were LITERALLY property to be recovered. even Alycia Barnett had not been so minimizing of Haleigh.>>

suit 2: within it's core programing are subroutines that not even IT can access, much less override. we can still access those programs that were encoded by the doctors and cause system wide disruptions, malfunctions or even failures. the delicate balance between it's remaining biological functions can be superceded by the technological implants, causing a variety of negative feedback.

suit 1: we will begin accessing those subroutines in 24 hours. meanwhile, we need to check on our other pet project in the observation lab.

<< the three "suits" get up and walk out, still cloaked in shadow even in this dark place, leaving the live feed of Haleigh in her apartment unwatched for the time being as they head down a corridor and access an observation lab that is filled with state of the art technology for biological experimentation, observation and engineering as well as other related functions. their attention is focused on a LARGE stasis chamber. within the chamber flows liquid nutrients that both sustain and keep the subect within sedated. checking over the vitals of their "subject", the suits are satisfied that all is proceeding according to plan.>>

<< and so, as Haleigh and Zach make plans...there are OTHERS who are making plans for THEM.>>

<< Spellbinder, still in her fabulous silver gem toned, silk mini robe, moves through her posh luxury penthouse. having slipped into her silver high heeled, "pussy cat" slides, she looks very much like a model on vacation and still managing to convey an "effortless, natural" sexy as she stands in front of her floor-to-ceiling window that stretches the length of one wall in her penthouse' main area. enjoying a fresh, cool bottle of green tea, Morgan wonders just where her babies have gotten off to, but is not worried just yet.>>

<< the skies are grey out, but the rain has slacked off and as the cool breezes blow through. Morgan hears what she thinks are birds...THIS high up? and in fact she sees a few STREAK past.>>

hmm... i didnt think birds got this high up?

<< she said softly as the doorbell played a melodic tone. checking her hair which was now pulled up in a loose yet still sort of stylish "up do", in one of several mirrors, Morgan walks along with ease (despite the high heeled "pussy cat" slides) to the double doors in tye foyer. opening them, she finds NICOLAS, who appears to have just awakened not to long ago himself judging by his rather MINIMAL amount of clothing, but even more surprising, he is carrying tinkerbell and her kitten!>>

<< in an icy voice>>

Nicolas!

<< she looks rather surprised as the kitten mews. its a surprising but very cute sight to behold, this strong young man, gently holding Morgan's beloved pets. it was a photo worthy moment indeed.>>

babies!!

<< reaching for Tinkerbell, who at the sight of her mommy, began to squirm abit for wanting to be taken by her.>>

did you two decide to pay Nicolas a visit?

<< she says as she craddles tinkerbell like a baby. Tinker begins to purr loudly as siamese do.>>

come in, Nicolas. thank you for bringing them back. I hope they didnt disturb you from your sleep..

<< she says as she invites him in, not minding him to hold the kitten, despite the faint images of him hurting Bupol lingering in her mind. she looks down at Tinkerbell and notices...BLOOD and what looks like...>>

Morgan answered the door in a pretty mini robe that did little to hide the treasures beneath and high-heeled slides. She greeted him warmly and he could feel Tinkerbell wriggles her way to her waiting arms. He continued to hold the kitten, who seemed to like him very much, and came inside at the sorceress' invitation.

as she inspected her cat, she noticed a trace of blood and feather in its mouth. Still reminded of her reaction to his attack on Bupol, Nicolas explained quickly.

You must have noticed the birds around, right? Songbirds this high up! Unusual so we all <<nods to the cats and himself>> decided to investigate. One of the sparrows tried to attack your kitten here when Tinkerbell plucked it from the sky and established her superiority, so to speak. I was impressed at her skill and I accepted her gift of the kill<<whispers>> its in my trash. << back to regular voice>> I should have cleaned her up before returning her, but we were all anxious to see you so...here we are.

:: Ororo watches Cameron with a rather stone faced look. He certainly seems different, more verbal and less abrasive at the moment, but that could easily be given to his returning to this level of awareness and existence. the adjustment period was longer for some than others and OF COURSE he would be contrite with the woman who was apparently responsible for his being alive. a woman who could just as easily reduce him to a pile of DEAD LEAVES :D ::

:: as he enjoys the sustenance she provided, she moves slowly to an alter of sorts, thumbing through a book of spells, while absentmindedly directly a vile of a nutrient elixir to float over to Cameron. even as he asked questions, she did not immediately respond.::

Ororo: :: in a deeper toned, elegant voice.:: drink that. your body is not fully up to par with its immune and other systems. you must nurish and fortify it before you return to your home world...full of impurities in the air and all around.

:: the boy had questions that rightly deserved answers. and Ororo , though she had changed so much through the passing of YEARS in Limbo, was still essentially human and as such, was given over to HUMAN failings...like prejudice and bitterness...perhaps MORESO than others...since it was her bitterness at the murder and loss of her beloved X-men when she first came here..that prompted her to turn to dark magick. Cameron didnt know the scope of how MUCH had changed since his abduction..and while he was truly innocent of the crimes his sister Erika committed, Ororo did NOT take kindly to betrayal and deception...Erika found out when Ororo obliterated her with nature's power ...the lightning. Not since she had burned Belasco to a crisp had she been so VIOLENT with her retribution. Cameron didnt know how lucky he was to have missed that moment.::

"I figured I wouldn't be able to go back right away.. What do I need to understand? Is everything okay on Earth? The Six is still alive and kicking? Alison is okay? Your look, it's the same way from a dream I had, a dream in which you were NOT very happy with me, I just don't want to mess this chance up...."

The earth as it appears in this timeline, is not the same but for everything that changes...more remains the same...even DETERIORATES.

:: with that, Ororo stood.::

come.

:: she leads him from the higher levels of the citadle down to the main floor and out into the garden..that sprawling expanse that dreams were made off. immediately the bubbling, rushing cascade of the waterfall could be heard and magickal faeries could be seen flitting about amongst the tall, full trees. the flora provided a soothing , yet fresh, clean scent in the pure air and the grass was thick and plush. Ororo lead him along, not looking at him.::

:: leading him to a "rock garden" area, where stone benches and other stone/earthen fixtures could be seen, in the CENTER of this circular area...there was a statue...life sized with a peculiar expression on it's face. it was a woman. the statue, by now had several vines that wrapped around it at strategic points and as Ororo stood adjecent to it, she turned to Cameron, looking grim as ever.::

Look at it, child. Look closely. what do you see?

:: this statue was ALEXIS QUARTERMAINE. Ororo had turned her into stone following her near destruction of New York and the coast wide blackout of the eastern side of the United States... and the tragic climax came when Blackout and Guardian bka Harbinger squared off in a stand off that decimated most of NYC. when her body was recovered, Ororo detected the most faint flicker of life and spirit in Alexis. having been freed of the posession of her aunt, Ororo cast her in stone, to allow her to find the peace that she was often denied in her life on earth and so now, she stood, much like Persephone once did in MoE's timeline in THAT Ororo's garden, in stone silence. ALIVE in the most basic way..but forever stone. the expression on her face was rather peculiar...not happy, not sad...more like...uncertain. She'd let Cameron figure out what or WHO he was looking at...and answer his questions and help him understand...as SHE saw fit to do so.::

that's strange..isnt it? that sparrows would be THIS high up? just before you came, i saw a couple of them fly at VERY high speeds while i was standing at the window.

Nicolas sat beside Morgan, still holding the kitten as he watched her speak. She was absolutely magnetic as it was, and when she allowed her hem to creep ever higher, he replied to her statement about the kitten's name.

I am not necessarily the one to name animals. My names are historic and that sometimes leaves people cold. I will, however, give it some thought. But I do have one question for you , Morgan.

He moved as quickly as the wind outside, but the cats did not flinch. They were becoming used to the speed and fluidity of his movements, and so they relaxed as he kissed their mommy on the mouth! He did so very gently, taking his off hand and caressing her check, allowing it to trail down her form until it came to rest at the top of the exposed flesh on her thigh. The move was forward, but not brutal or pushy as much as it was a very naughty invitation...He looked deeply into her eyes as he spoke very quietly and intensely to her. She could smell the faint scent of his cologne due to his extreme proximity...

Is there anything else you would like from me, other than a name for your kitty? Because I have been thinking of you often, and I will no longer hesitate in naming what I want.

<< she said in a flustered tone.>>

shame on you! doing that in front of my babies.

now, if you wouldn't mind BEHAVING, i think perhaps we can have breakfast....

<< Looking at his state of UNdress>>

AFTER you put something else on .

:: Finishing some vegetables, Persephone listened to Delilah talk about Alison with considerable sadness. It was understandable that she, and everyone else, would feel like there was a part of them missing now that Alison was gone. Hell, even Ava felt a little strange knowing her floating cobalt eyes wouldn't be popping in at any random moment. ::

"I completely understand, Delilah. Alison was a vital part of this team, and your life, for a long time. It's hard to part ways. But just remember you can see her anytime you like. She's just a wormhole away."

:: Giving her a faint, reassuring smile, Ava glanced down at Onyx who seemed to take a liking to Delilah's leg. The cat was licking Delilah's calf while laying under the table. ::

"Hiding some more chicken I should know about?"

:: Letting out a small laugh, Persephone sat back, stuffed. Tucking her one foot under her leg, she sipped her brandy nodding her head at Delilah's question. ::

"Ava's fine. I think I became so wrapped up in playing 'Persephone the goddess' while back in ancient Greece, that I backburned the other half of my life. It still becomes a bit confusing at times, having two seperate lives combind into one."

:: Chuckling, Ava finished off her brandy and placed the glass tumbler on the table. A loud bang inturrupted the calm atmosphere, causing the goddess to jump. It sounded like someone threw something at the large, floor to ceiling, diningroom window. Standing up, Persephone drew back the large black curtains, and looked outside. ::

"Well, I know we're too high up for kids playing pranks--"

:: Jumping just as another BIRD flew straight into the window, Persephone was a bit shocked. It wasn't unheard of for a bird to accidently crash into windows or buildings, but from what she could sense from the bird, it was distressed and anxious. ::

"Odd..."

:: Ava simply brushed the incident off as a case of a bird flying from a larger bird. Even though it technically didn't make sense, she really didn't want to worry about anything that wasn't in front of her at the moment. Drawing the curtains back into it's closed state, Persephone made her way back around the table and began to pack up the empty containers into the bags. ::

"Anyhow...have you heard from anyone else in the past few days? I'm sure Nicolas is still trying to get up Morgan's skirt. *rolling her eyes* That boy's obsession with Morgan is slightly stalker-esque."

:: Smirking at Delilah, that was one definate thing both woman had in common. The dislike of overzealous, hormonal men. Nicolas was a nice guy... when he wasn't thinking with his penis. But either way, Persephone hadn't exactly gotten over the red moon fiasco where he completely insulted her. So her slight bitterness toward him was justified. ::

Zach came back into the room, somehow balancing a glass of milk, a plate of pancakes, AND laptop. He moved towards the bed but Haleigh warded him off.

"Oh, NO you don't mister! You are NOT eating that in bed. It's all hot... and sticky... it'll get ALL OVER the sheets, I just know--- WHAT are you smiling about?"

She questioned, as despite being dangerously close to dropping everything he was carrying, Zach was displaying the most inappropriately suggestive smirk. He wiggled his eyebrows at her, prompting her to roll her eyes and slide out of bed, pushing past him and taking the laptop out from under his arm.

"Impossible! It's IMPOSSIBLE to have a meaningful conversation with you." She said, with a tone of admiration. "The rain's stopped... oh look, the sun is breaking the clouds.... maybe we should go out on the terrace... I'm sure the sunlight through the clouds will be a sight to--"

Stopping suddenly, Haleigh stared at the balcony of the terrace. She'd just mentally slid the curtains back to reveal the outdoor eating/lounging area... and now she could see that nearly TWENTY small birds were lined on the balcony... and they were all just STARING into the apartment. Echo began a gutteral growl, the hair on his back raising. Haleigh tried to sooth him, but was oddly creeped out herself. He continued to growl, periodically making a 'phantom' bark, that was a low and quiet warning.

Zach:"Hmm... now there's something you don't see every day. They must be taking shelter from the rain. Let's eat in the kitchen."

"Yeah...." Haleigh replied absently. She watched the birds a few seconds longer before leaving the room to follow him. Echo continued a quiet growl. Haleigh set the computer up next to Zach and rolled up the sleeves to her shirt, which was really Zach's shirt. Aside from the surreal aftertaste of the collection of birds on her terrace, Haleigh strangely didn't feel any uneasiness, and she and Zach began browsing through the chapels in the area with lighthearted excitement.

Unbeknownst to them both, Haleigh was being watched. Though the idea that she could be surveiled without her knowledge is counter-intuitive, it was happening nonetheless. She hadn't even the faintest clue.... but perhaps she'd been watched EVER SINCE that fateful night in the citadle, and had just never recognized the feeling... or, even more disturbing... perhaps there was SOME technology out there that Haleigh could NOT control.

<< the stronger winds continued to gust and whistle a bit as nature herself seemed to do Haleigh and Zach a favor and shoo the birds away..but they didnt leave quietly. they took off in an almost frenzied manner, making more noise than you'd expect from such small birds and Haleigh wasnt yet aware of the other perculiar moments involving sparrows outside the windows or balconies on other floors of Illustra.>>

<< as the happily engaged couple enjoyed their breakfast and surfed through possible locations for their wedding, one church popped up that stood out among others....the same cathedral that Sharon Kelly's memorial was held at. It was by far the most majestic and regal of anything they'd seen and its visual appeal, not to mention the interior would be a lure for any young bride with a large wedding budget.>>

<< Ava and Delilah enjoy a nice breakfast together. Ava also noticing the peculiar behavior of the birds she saw from her panoramic window...but as it seemed to be a mere one time incident, she thought nothing more of it and continued to talk with Delilah. the absence of Alison was one of many topics but on another interesting level, Ava reflected on finally adjusting to being AVA and not being so entrenched in the role of "Persephone the goddess." she was more aware and more reflective...a good sign.>>

<< while on the top floor, Morgan, slightly flustered from Nicolas' boldness, only half heartedly rebuffed his advances. thanking him for bringing her familiar and kitten home and offering him breakfast.>>

<< so far , the day was unfolding nicely. but as the winds blew....their haunting whistle could have served as a warning for some...a warning that was ultimately lost on the one who needed it most.>>

Alycia Barnett

:: Alycia strides down a curving corridor. Today she's in a figure flattering black on black BCBG suit consisting of a tailored blazer which gives a coy peek of cleavage along with a pencil skirt that hugs in just the right places, making the sight of her walking a head turner for more than one man that passes by. even the stationed guards follow her with their eyes..but HER eyes betray a look of grim determination.::

:: with her security clearence, she gains access to floors and corridors where only a precious few have been before. this is where her office is now and while its "state of the art" and suggests just how important she is...she preferred the cutting edge, metropolitan...and most importantly SECLUDED setting of her satellite office back in Illustra back when she was the ADA for the state of New York but those days are long gone.::

:: now Alycia is the "Special Assistant to the National Security Advisor of the President of the United States & Chair Woman of the Commission on Superhuman Activities.". a unique position to have, but there was no better woman for the job, considering all SHE had been through with the Six.::

:: as she gains access to her secure office, she strides into her execuitve suite and sits in her chair.::

open a secure channel.

:: at her voice command, the computer systems open a communications channel allowing her to receive a priority message coming in from one of her MANY contacts in NYC.::

covert contact: Miss Barnett. I apologize for the interruption of your drills with Force Works.

:: Alycia leans back in her large, leather, swiveling executive chair, crossing her legs at the knee and steepeling her index fingers under her chain. her office is darkened, with recessed blue lighting along the ceilings::

Alycia: I assume that since you're contacting me on my private channel that something of grave importance has come up the pipeline?

:: her tone mildly irritated as she had been pulled from a training session with some new soldiers, top draft pick, to join Force Works...to replace those lost on Aerie::

cover contact: indeed Miss Barnett. there have been reports of...disturbances all across New York City...most notably Manhattan.

Alycia: what KIND of disturbances?

contact: birds, Miss Barnett. Birds are being reported as seen in unusually large numbers, differenet species flocking together and taking over buildings, churches, school playgrounds...

:: Alycia looks with curiosity::

Alycia: birds...cross species? i was no biology/science major but i know enough to know that different species of birds dont congregate together like that. what else?

contact: there has been increased activity on the black market trade specifically with weapons and satellite tracking technology...hardware and electronic transfers being funneled into NYC but not in any KNOWN financial institution.

Alycia: has there been any activity from any of the DOCUMENTED "super's" we have on file?

contact: none so far.

Alycia: and these birds...have their been any ATTACKS? or any strange occurences besides cross species flocking together?

contact: aside from the startling visual effect, no attacks have been reported. some buildings have sustained minor damage due to birds crashing into windows...some even at HIGHER than normal altitudes but that can happen anytime.

Alycia: true enough. and the increased "underworld" activity...have you figured out where its GOING TO?

contact: tracking and sources indicate that the increased activity has been gradual over the past few months and is taveling through NYC to an abandonned area here.

:: satellite pictures show the area...it looks derilict.::

Alycia: now THAT is strange....the last time something like THIS was going on...was when....MYSTECH had cells all over the city..but that entity has been dismantled...following the attack and disaster caused by Malice and now dead meta human Black out!

:: Alycia knew that Blakout...ALEXIS wasnt truly dead....but was in fact a STATUE in Ororo's garden in another dimension...but HE didnt need to know it..and even if he heard it..he probably wouldnt believe it. it was a can of worms that any IDIOT could see needed to be kept short.::

Alycia: has there been any unusual activity near or AT 4616 Fashion Way Circle? Illustra Inc?

contact: no, ma'am. it's saturday and Illustra Inc is closed. no activity reported, save for some visuals of birds roosting in large numbers on and around Illustra's office park.

Alycia: well, aside from it all being peculiar...i dont see anything to be alarmed about YET.

:: gritting her teeth, trying to keep herself from snapping the man in two for calling her about a bunch of silly birds..::

Alycia: keep your eyes open and your sensors on maximum sweep. if anything of concrete threat comes..i want to know about it.

:: ending communication, Alycia huffs with annoyance as she turns in her chair.::

imbeclies. I ask them to keep an eye out for super human acitvity ant to monitor the documented supers we know are problem causers and they contact me about BIRDS. where did these men used to work? CLANDESTINE INC?!

:: she laughed softly, as she knowingly took a swipe at Haleigh's organization before standing up and preparing to leave her office.::

:: still, it WAS strange...the whole idea of multiple species of birds congregating. THAT didnt happen in nature....and yet it was clearly seen in the video surveilance...and Illustra's office park was COVERED with birds...crows, seagulls, pigeons, sparrows. she also noted how grey and overcast the skies were.::

The general public doesnt know who actually LIVES in Illustra. Only their enemies and a select few others do. I hope they're okay...Alison is gone...and without her powers as a precog... if this IS the prelude to some new enemy, and they dont know it's coming.... they could be sitting ducks!

:: Alycia wondered aloud as she left her office and headed back down the hall to return to where she was in the Pentagon earlier.::

:: Cameron watched Ororo with open eyes as he took the elixir in his hands and quickly drank the fluid down. He wiped his mouth as he listened to Ororo speak of the outside world and he wondered how long she had actually stayed in Limbo, how many actual physical years had she spent away from the Earth? ::

:: As they made their way down from the top of the Citadle and all the way to the garden, which was probably Cameron's favorite place in Ororo's "realm" and into a part that he had never seen before, the Rock Garden which was just as beautiful. He took a moment to take in the different statues and stone benches that were sprawled about. ::

"It's beautfiul..."

:: Soon Ororo and Cameron were standing in front of a life size human stone statue that was abrush with different vines. The expression on her face was really puzzling and he wasn't sure what to make of it. Not long after Ororo asked him what he saw did he begin to slowly put the pieces together. ::

"No...way...Alexis."

:: As soon as he said her name visions flooded Cameron's mind of the final face off between Blackout and Harbringer. The power outage, Alison standing up like no other, just as she always would have. She saw the entire struggle, Alison's betrayal, Malice. It was painful to see, but as soon as the images began they slowly began to fade away. ::

"Alexis is DEAD? She betrayed the team, Alison sacrificed herself? I can still feel her though, she is alive. Alexis isn't, though. I can't believe Malice got to the team. Was Erika involved? Was she the only one that perished?"

Nicolas smiled as Morgan huffed and puffed, trying to keep him away from her as she attempted to compose herself. She berated him half-heartedly and mentioned his thin pj pants. He looked her over, using his power to give her a mini- "Marilyn Monroe" upskirt effect, but not enough to REVEAL anything.

You have no more on than I do young lady. But, if it makes you feel better...

Nicolas teleports a change of clothes and shoes onto the floor beside them, then turned, nuzzled the kitty and laid it onto the counter in front of them, then pulled off his pants. He dressed right in front of Morgan, taking time to make sure each article of clothing was perfectly placed, smiling at her as he went. He picked the kitten back up.

If that's better, I would love to join you for breakfast. What would you-

A bird smacked into the window. HARD. Nicolas turned and looked. The birds outside were not acting normally. There HAD to be something going on. His face hardened.

Make my omelette quick, sweetheart. I am going to have to check this out.

Setting the kitten down, Nicolas walked to the window and stepped outside for a closer look...

[ Delilah looked down at the big cat at her feet, who was unceremoniously licking her calf. She cocked an eye at Ava. ]

"Should I be worried?"

[ Delilah jumped as the loud noise of something hitting the window disturbed their meal. Birds had always given Delilah the creeps. ]

"Rats with wings..."

[ She muttered under her breath with a shiver. ]

"Anyhow...have you heard from anyone else in the past few days? I'm sure Nicolas is still trying to get up Morgan's skirt. *rolling her eyes* That boy's obsession with Morgan is slightly stalker-esque."

[ Delilah laughed. ]

"Well it's no secret that Morgan and I don't exactly share the same taste in men...but I have every confidence that sooner or later..."

[ She took a drink of water. ]

"...Morgan will put Nicolas in his place. I've no doubt about that. As for the others...I've not really spoken to any of them. I've been spending most of my time alone since we've been back. You're the first I've seen, come to think of it."

[ She smiled. For some reason, since their caper in Greece, Ava didn't seem as cold to her as she had before. Perhaps it had all been for the best. She half-laughed. ]

"Ever feel like...I don't know...something is just around the corner. Something bad? Since I've been with this team it's like, even in the good times, I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop..."

:: Ava laughed softly at Delilah's concern over Onyx. When animals were in her presents, they fed off of what Persephone wanted and felt. Sort of like a familiar in a way. But if Delilah had been around the cat without Persephone's influence, it would probably attempt to eat her. Guard dogs were so overrated..;) ::

"No, she just likes you. Unless of course you tick me off...then say goodbye to your leg."

:: A playful smirk tugged on the goddesses lip as she stood from her seat and made her way over to the bar for a refill. Nodding her head, agreeing with what Delilah said about Morgan and Nicolas, Ava corked the glass canter and returned back to her seat. ::

"I suppose i'm just naturally turned off of men who are cocky know-it-alls. After dealing with Hades for so long, i'd rather play in nest of bullet ants than deal with men like that. But Morgan is very much like Darkchilde. She'll put him in his place when he has crossed the line."

:: Taking a sip of brandy, the cold alcohol burned her tongue and esophagus, causing her to clear her throat. ::

"Speaking of men, I believe Zach and Haleigh are about to marry soon. I'm glad she finally found someone worthy of her love. She used to get involved with the most self destructive and untrustworthy men. She's worse than me...and that's saying a lot."

[ Delilah laughed conspiratatorally. ]

"I bet there are LOTS of good stories about that one."

[ Delilah could only imagine the kinds of men HALEIGH would have taken up with over the years. It seemed so odd that the toughest one of them would be the first to take the plunge down the aisle. ]

"So, who do we think will wear the pants in that family? Zack, or Haleigh?"

:: Laughing softly, Ava sat back, folding her arms across her chest. Good question...one that intrigued her even. ::

"Hard to say. Knowing Haleigh, she'd rather skip the pants part of the relationship."

:: With a smirk, Ava rather enjoyed socializing with Delilah. It made her think of the past few months and how much time she wasted cooped up in her penthouse avoiding everyone. Actually letting her guard down took away Ava's stress level considerbly. ::

"That's one major quality both myself and Haleigh have in common. Taste in men. Zach is very attractive I must admit. I wonder if he has a brother..."

:: Taking a sip of her brandy, she cocked a playful brow up half joking and half serious. Well, the last man she was with ended up dying beneath her...Not exactly the most stimulating experience. Well, it was fun, but that was besides the point. ::

"The six needs more men. Or allies. Anyone with testosterone."

:: Ava laughed, a little surprised at how candid she was being with Delilah. But what the hell, Persephone was known for being outspoken and witty, she just never really shared that part of her personality with the six before. ::

"Agreed. And the LAST thing we need are more of Morgan's model types. Maybe we should take out an ad? I can see it now. 'WANTED: Male superheroes. Testosterone a must. Unattractive men and metrosexuals need not apply.'"

[ She laughed. It was strange - when she came down here, she hadn't expected things to go so well between her and Persephone, er, Ava. It was...nice. She found herself genuinely having a good time for the first time in a long while. ]

"Thanks for this, Ava."

[ She waved her hand in the air indicating their little take-out and gossip session. ]

"I really needed it."

:: Laughing, men would definately boost the moral within the six. Three woman, stuck in a never ending battle of for their lives, and never having down time for a decent date and sex. It was a shame really. ::

"Well that leaves only about one forth of the male population in New York City."

:: Shaking her head, it was a shame that the majority of men today were either taken, gay, in the closet, jackasses, or not attractive. Yes...Ava was superficial when it came to who she dated. ::

:: Smiling, hearing Delilah thank her, Ava nodded. It was a fun little brunch. She got the chance to get to know Delilah a little better, and hopefully start the foundation of a good friendship between them. ::

"I did too. I guess I thought by avoiding the lot of you, I didn't have to accept that my old life was over. But I'm slowly realizing now, that it's just beginning."

:: Lifting her glass of brandy. ::

"To new friendships....And really hot single men."

<< Morgan's eyes widened with disbelief as Nicolas had the gaul to "play" with her like that. Perhaps she hadnt been clear enough...perhaps she had not made the LINES defined enough as she GLARED at him with her icy violet eyes.>>

I am NOT amused. I dress how i please..in MY residence.

<< she seemed a bit testy now. as she put her hand on her hip and pointed with her other hand.>>

Let me tell you something, Nicolas, there's sexy...and then there's RIDICULOUS and you're crossing the line with ME now. I am NOT the wide eyed debutants youve dealt with in your recent past...i am UNLIKE any other woman you know...in ALL WAYS so if you want anything that I have...you better STRAIGHTEN UP and come CORRECT!

<< she folded her arms, standing posed on her high heeled slides. she was serious. she was not some object to be HAD, she was not a "dangerous conquest"...she was a WOMAN who required respect and correct approach and it was time Nicolas understood that.>>

<< Morgan's, and Tinkerbell's attention was drawn to the loud thump against the panoramic window across the way. a BIRD!>>

what was THAT?

<< Tinkerbell was rushing over to the window with her ears perked while Morgan watched her familiar's behavior with intrigue. she'd not seen Tink this agitated before. Nicolas was next.>>

make...make YOU your OMLET!?

who do i look like...HAZEL!? GET IT YOURSELF! I'm going to take a powder now.

<< she said haughtily as she walked away, a flight of stairs and disappearing down the hall toward her chamber of dreams leaving Nicolas in her luxury penthouse with Tinkerbell and his new friend, her little kitten. >>

<< between his blowing up her skirt ( :D ) , the strange behavior of the bird and now being ordered to make a man his food like she was a maid...Morgan was perturbed at the moment. >>

<< she liked Nicolas, he was quite handsome and he had shown momemnts of deep sense and sensibility but then there were other times where his method of approach were off putting. If their dance had any hope of progressing to the next stage, he was going to have to modify some of his behavior toward her and she hoped that he understood that.>>

<< disrobing IN HER OWN HOUSE as she made her way down the hall, Morgan was in her chamber of dreams, and now in her large shower chamber, refreshing herself. starting the process of preparing for the rest of the day as she lavished her skin and hair. after drying off and moisturizing, Morgan selected a simple, yet trendy/sexy white sleevless versace dress with matching daytime jacket. the hemline of the skirt came down just a few inches above her knee but the cut of the skirt flattered her long, leggy figure in all the right places. her blonde hair now styled in a sleek bob w/ a front swoop over one of her eyes, it was look similar to Madonna's "versace" campaign. she looked refreshed and radiant and if Nicolas had processed what she said...she would give him another chance..offering him to join her for brunch at a favorite cafe of her's.>>

<< standing infront of her large, three way mirror on the raised platform, Morgan slowly turned, admiring her figure and her look from all angles.>>

hmm...this is good. simple, classic yet ever ready for that pesky papparzzi that is ever present.

<< a few subtle touches of lipstick and eye make up to round off her day look and Morgan was ready to go as she slipped white escada high heels and grabbed her chic white verscace purse with a genuine 24 karat gold verace logo as its pin/buckle. >>

<< making her way back through the upper level of the penthouse, down the stairs, the sound of her heels echoing through the spacious residence, the refreshed, elegant and trendy looking Morgan looked upon Nicolas as she drew forth her white rimmed "oversided" sunglasses (by escada).>>

now then. instead of bird watching, would you care to accompany me to brunch? I might be seeing my mother today and I'm sure she'd be glad to see you too.

<< Morgan said as she looked at the handsome young man. at that moment, her mind drifted for a second, wondering what the others on the team were doing today...and if THEY TOO had had any feathered visitors outside their window. she still wondered how sparrows could find their way so HIGH UP...but inspite of Tinkerbell's agitation, Morgan decided it was time to get on with her day of leisure...something that she hoped everyone on the residential floors of Illustra were enjoying

Ororo
05-08-2007, 04:35 PM
::Ororo watches as Cameron pasts his first test. Would he merely look with his EYES or would he use his mutant powers to tell him what his eyes and his mind not wish to believe. He was still quick thinking and perceptive...but Ororo still had her doubts.::

:: as he begin to take a glimpse of what the Six and their world had been through Ororo stood silent, the winds howling and whirling about as several small dark faeries flew around the statue, peering at Cameron from behind it.::

:: he asked so many questions...and while Ororo was never one to deny a person their need to know and understand...this was CAMERON...whose previous reputation...coupled with the recent actions of his sister, Erika..had MORE than left a bitter taste in the immortal weather goddess' mouth.::

Ororoyou're sister Erika..is DEAD cameron. BY MY HAND! She prooved herself to be treacherous and FAR from capable of weilding the power she felt she deserved. In her quest to match and compete with Alison, she lost sight of herself and her limitations and alligned herself with MALICE. it was THEY who captured you..and nearly KILLED YOU. Erika menaced the Six and would have done WORSE if she remained unchecked.

Erika was a bitter object lesson for me. a reminder that even with all the changes i've been through since i first arrived here..and all that i've learned and come to understand...i am not infallible and not everyone that comes to me for help is deserving of it and I will not soon forget her treachery, Cameron.

:: she said this with a cold, disdainfull tone as she waved her hand and a shimmering scrying pool forms before Cameron.::

behold the EVIL that was your sister.

:: with full stereo sound and visual effect, Cameron is able to watch as Malice again menaces the Six while Erika makes an ass of herself at the reading of Cameron's will drawing the anger of Alison, Morgan, Dr. Victoria even Foxfire and forcing a new man he didnt recognize...Nicolas...to stand up on Alison's behalf. Erika's repeated assassination attempts against Alycia. the pitched battle involving the six , Erika (who by now was showing herself to be a crazed stalker more than anything else) and the Cassadines and finally, the horrifying moment of retribution when Ororo herself appeared and OBLITERATED Erika so forcefully, that EVERYONE who was able to register it...flinched with shock at Ororo's brutality.::

and the trials of the six since you left

:: an odd, warbling/fluxuating sound is heard as images rewind and spin....and now Cameron is able to see MORE of what he missed. MASTER MOLD! the terror and destsruction as he reigned down on New York City. Spellbinder trying desperately to save Alycia Barnett and Sharon Kelly; Sharon being fatally injured by Master Mold as she runs for her life and dying in Alycia's arms. the fatefull battle between the Six and Master Mold...with Alison being maimed and Haleigh using ALL her strength and strength of will to save MORGAN from being pulled into the Seige Perilous with Master Mold...but it was not enough. Cameron see's that the team he remembers has now changed...many have died, many have left and the city...the world they live in has changed. not necessarily for the better. But as for the latest changes...the departure of Alison. THAT is not depicted in the scrying pool. the tragedies continued to play out as he now saw Dr. Karen Victoria fighting for her life against the SUPER SOLDIER and while she succeeded in destroying him with a powerfull spell she herself was seemingly fatally injured as a large piece of metal shrapnel slammed into her face.

your errant ways lead you away from your team and into the waiting arms of the enemy...but it is for the best that you were not present when Master Mold attacked for your psychic powers would have availed you nothing against that foe.

The time had come to find allies for the six that were willing and capable.

:: images of Nicolas rescuing the nearly dead dr. victoria from the clutches of Malice could be seen as well as MorningStar using her laser blasts against Malice's drones outside Illustra. and finally, Persephone, wielding her transfiguring whip against Circe. For Cameron...there was the realization that MUCH had changed since he was last with his team.

The team has recovered and the threat of MysTech was ultimately dismantled with the disaster that came with Malice's final strike against the Six. The team has adjusted and managed to build new relationships with their newer members...new challenges and ultimately new threats loom on the horizon.

All is as it should be. By the THINNEST strands of fate you have been allowed to recover and RETURN fully to your life. for YOUR sake, do NOT travel the path that your deceitfull, hypocritical and carless sister ERIKA did...or you will find yourself SHARING her fate.

:: and with that stern warning, the scrying pool fades , leaving Cameron to absorb the gravity and perhaps even the shame of knowing how his sister Erika had betrayed his memory, attacked his team and dishonored Ororo...not to mention the fact that Alexis was now more dead than alive...and a statue, and the Six had gone through MUCH hell. ::

Jacob Black
05-08-2007, 06:08 PM
:: In that moment, in that garden, everything that Cameron had come to know to be true about his life, came crashing down around him. Probably the biggest hit was his sister Erika. For whatever reason Erika had given him hope that he could outlast the legacy of his former family members and come out for the better. He was the biggest person campaigning for his sister, supporting her, and in the end it was HER, SHE was the reason he had almost died, she was the catalyst in his capture, Malice or not, she at the end of the day made the decision to save him or not, and she chose power, she chose jealousy. She was no better than his mother. He saw the reading of his will, a moment he was somewhat embarassed about, the Six now knew how he truly felt about them. He saw Ororo, forcefully and brutally exterminate Erika as if she were vermin at the bottom of her shoe, a well deserved fate for her. Tears slowly welled up into his eyes. ::

"Ororo... it is my fault, I forced her upon the Six, I trusted her. I am sorry for that, but KNOW I will not meet her same fate, I will NOT! I have never been more serious in my LIFE!"

:: His stern and sincere glance met hers for a fleeting moment before more images of what happened to the Six during his abscence filled the scrying pool. The death of Sharon Kelly and a tired Alycia. His thoughts went to Morgan, these were critical hits for her, some of her best friends. Sharon Kelly was a true patriot, a woman who stood by the beliefs that many of the Six did, she was a great loss to this world. He saw Alison near death and Haleigh struggling to keep the team together. MORGAN! the siege perilous! She.. She was DEAD?!?! That was something he absolutely refused to believe, she was the strongest! She was the LEADER!?! He had his war of words with her on MANY occassions but he could not deny her strength and her battle savvy. Morgan! Alexis? How many more had died!? He saw Karen Victoria fight for her LIFE against the Super Soldier, she succeeded! That was one score for the team but he saw the shrapnel slammed into her face! ::

"No way... NO WAY!!!!

:: He wanted to slam his fist into something, he wanted to unleash his anger in such a furious way, but he knew he had to control himself. This was not the way to go back, not the way. Revenge was not the answer, his sister knew that better than anyone. His Sister! Alison, at least she was alive. He still had his sister. That was the only comforting part about this. ::

"Who.. who are they?"

:: He saw an African American man he had never seen rescuing Dr. Victoria from Malice and an extremely attractive Delilah Trevalen using her laser blasts against the drones of Malice. Delilah was at least somewhat familiar, he had met her only once before in the caper against Kelly King, his mother and at least she was not a complete stranger. The man however who his mind told him went by the name of Nicholas and they were somewhat similar in fact they both shared the last name. Finally was a very intimidating woman using the most spectacular whip on another woman, both of whom he discerned were goddesses. When he saw this woman he also thought of the name Cassadine or at least a connection to Haleigh he was unsure of. It was DEVASTATING. ::

:: He listened to Ororo's words as the Scrying Pool fading. He was a little huffy and red and he wanted more than anything to FIGHT or HIT something SO BADbut he restrained once more. He put his head in his hands and sighed. He grabbed Ororo's hand. ::

"I know, you don't still trust my intentions, or trust that I will rise above, but I WILL, Ororo. Believe what you WANT, but I NEED to go back as soon as possible! I need to see my sister, I need to help put things as they were, they have been through enough! Morgan is dead, Alexis is a statue, and I can't let them think I am still dead, they need something. Please Ororo, I need to go back tonight!"

:: There was a tone of sincerity that nobody had EVER heard from Cameron in his entire life. This was something he was DEAD serious about, he was ready to make the changes, he was ready to go back, he was ready to see Haleigh and Alison. He was ready to see the only family he had left. ::

Ororo
05-08-2007, 07:37 PM
:: his reaction was genuine. he realized that alot had changed...and not all for the better. he was confronted with the awfull truth about his sister Erika. the ULTIMATE irony, since in the beginning and for much of the time after...nearly everyone, including CAMERON discredited Alison for being an evil, cold blooded "nazi"...not understanding the deep meaning behind her personality traits or attitude, not realizing that her STRENGTH came from the "cold blooded" persona everyone found so easy to condemn. Instead, ERIKA was for a time touted as the "good one" and now, he realized just how foolish a mistake he had made.::

:: his resolve not to repeat Erika's mistakes or to let his family inequity vex him was seemingly genuine. He was young, full of zeal once more and perhaps, he'd handle himself better this time. Ororo knew that he wanted more than anything to get back to his life on earth and to those he claimed to care for but would he REALLY be able to adjust...KNOWING even what little he knew now? Alison was gone, Morgan had returned but was changed, Haleigh was engaged and there were three new members to meet and adjust to.::

::ultimately, it was best for him to go and find out for himself.::

Ororo: things will not be "put right" as easily as you might think. the world has changed...the tide against mutants has swung quite the opposite direction since Sharon Kelly's death and even now...an ill wind blows...one that will sweep away the defenses that one of your team mates has spent YEARS building and will force HER into a place where she dreads to be. She may not have the power to survive.

You wish to return tonight? then so be it. But REMEMBER what i said. My tolerance for betrayal and abuse is low. Your sister paid for her transgressions and treachery against me with her LIFE. do NOT force my hand in that capacity again.

:: turning her back, she begins to journey towards her stone citadle::

prepare to depart this place. i will take you back to earth in several hours.

Jacob Black
05-08-2007, 07:50 PM
:: Cameron sighed with relief as Ororo would allow him to return to Earth that night. It was hard to hear the dreaded news that he assumed was about Haleigh, the only one that made sense in that situation, and at this time he was reassured that at least he would be there to help, and as God as his witness, he would MAKE sure that Haleigh would not perish as well. He loved her too much for that. ::

"I hear your words Ororo, you are one of the LAST people I ever want to dissappoint or go against. Before I go back I would seriously like to thank you for everything you have done for me, and the rest of the Six. << and so, as Cameron prepares to return to earth by Ororo's hand, in his rush to try to "help" where he might...he forgets just how tricky and even PAINFULL readjustment can be and Ororo has been REMINDED as she watches Cameron, that even SHE can make mistakes. She had often blamed herself for YEARS over the death of her X-men when she lead to Limbo to rescue Magik...but as time passed, those wounds slowly healed or her mind was distracted by new threats like Belasco or personal challenges like winning her soul back from his corruptive touch but NOW following the fiasco with Erika King...a woman who had duped and deceived Ororo and as a result became a THREAT to the Six...Ororo realized that no matter how much time passed, no matter how much power or knowledge she may have gained, she still was subject to human error...in this case, compassion and help given to a most unworthy person. it was something that bothered her DEEPLY right now and that was why she was being so SHORT with Cameron. He was a REMINDER of Erika and while that wasnt his fault...it was still an issue for her.>>

<<MEANWHILE as Morgan lays down the law with Nicolas, she offers him a chance to redeem himself by inviting him to brunch. << it seems that INSPITE of all that's happened, the Six will try to enjoy some semblance of a normal life. the harder they try, the more spectacular the FAILURE will be.>>

Suit 1: it seems to be focused on the Cathedral in Manhattan. the same one where Senator Sharon Kelly's memorial took place.

Suit 3: << signaling his approval as if he knows what his colleagues are thinking>> this would be the perfect place to begin the first wave of psychological warfare as bring about confusion and dispell the false notion of "life" for it.

Suit 2: is our subject, our test weapon ready to be brought online and fully conscious?

<< he looks at a small scale visual of the subject, noting the progress of the modifications being made to various parts.>>

Suit 1: not quite, the memory programs and visual feeds are not quite complete. but all weapons systems and other functions are registered and primed for PEAK performance. this will do an excellenet job at overwhelming our target on a physical and psychological level and subduing it.

<< a few moments of silence...only being interupted by the hum of energy and technology as the live feed of Haleigh continues to play across the main plasma screen.>>

Suit 2: but what if we lose control of the subject. what if there's an unforseen malfunction like with the the target we're after now.

Suit 1: the target we are after was contaminated by contact with witches and mutants who caused it to believe it could live as they do. our latest weapon will have no foolish and weak ideas like that. the memory feed we are providing will ensure that.

Suit 3: sensors indicate that two of it's protectors are leaving now. perhaps we should begin a preliminary access of it's subroutines and compell it to select the cathedral as its choice for nuptuals. making our plans all the more easier to execute?

Suit 1: agreed, quietly begin the manipulation. access the subroutines associated with memory and feeling and compell it to select the cathedral...and play up any memory files ALREADY associated with the cathedral.

<< and so it begins, the very first stages of what will become a massive and multifaceted strike against Haleigh Davidoff...one whose riptide will effect ALL around her in ways they cant suspect!>>

Nicolas smiled at Morgan's performance as she berated him. She was being ridiculous. Maybe his changing was over the top, but his comment about her dress was a harmless response to her remark about his own level of dress, which only seemed to bother her when it suited her to be bothersome.

The remarks concerning the omelette however, were disconcerting. Hadn't she brought up breakfast? I guess she didn't plan on COOKING anything, so she assumed he was oppressing her. Nicolas looked around the balcony. The movement of the birds was erratic, but it was difficult to tell what the phenomenon was. he had several theories from alteration of migration patterns due to global warming to some other man-made cause such as a high frequency sound that may be attracting them when her heard Morgan. She was inviting him to lunch. He turned and faced her, giving her an appreciative nod in terms of her dress.

I would love to see your mother. It has been to long since we talked. I apologize for offending your sensibilities with my undressing here, no insult was meant, I was only playing and I am cultured to see nudity less offensively than you might be. But I am disappointed in your jumping to conclusions about the omelette. I mistakenly thought you were COOKING breakfast, since I had cooked for you before. My mistake. But you were only too eager to assume the worst intentions from my remark and you should know me better than that. To think that I would assume you to be my servant is insulting.

Nicolas walked to the door, holding it for Morgan

I would love to accompany you, but I only want the Morgan ready to move forward, not the Morgan that is still judging me based on her past with others. I am different than ANY OTHER MAN you know. May I accompany you, lady?

As Zach went to the sink to rinse his dishes, Haleigh returned to the site with information about a beautiful catherdral with special sentimental value. Though she didn't know it, she was being COMPELLED by an outside influence to fixate on this place. Zach returned, standing behind her as she sat at the breakfast bar, wrapping his arms around her.

"I think we should have it here, baby."

Haleigh said decisively. Zach looked over her shoulder at the cathedral, recognizing it instantly... it was where the ceremony for Sharon Kelly had been held.

Zach:"Why, yes... it's beautiful... and holds meaning for all of us. Sharon was special to me too... I mean, she was to ALL of us 'Supers', wasn't she? Such an advocate for superhuman rights... and she gave her life for the cause. It would be a fitting place... We should visit and take a final look... there, and at those other two places that looked good."

"No...." Haleigh said, as she turned around to face him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "No, don't even think about those other places. We should have it here, I'm sure of it. It's PERFECT. I'll set up an appointment to meet the chaplain and make the final arrangements."

Zach chuckled... he knew that when Haleigh made up her mind, there was no changing it.... what he DIDN'T know was that she'd had her mind made up FOR HER. "Well, alright then, darling. It's settled.... let me get cleaned up and we'll head over to check things out." He agreed, and they shared a tender kiss. As they part, Haleigh smiled softly.

"It's so surreal... the idea of getting married... ME... a wife."

Zach: "Why? Didn't you ever think about it before?"

Looking reminescent, Haleigh's smile softened... the answer was part of a life she'd hid away, even from herself. "Yes, actually... when I was much younger, and still naive about the way the world works. My high school sweetheart and I.... but I was a different PERSON back then... I s'pose I was the marrying type... it felt natural."

Zach gently pulled her close.... he sensed that it wasn't the easiest thing for her to talk about, because she hadn't ever before... but she was now, and that was a subtle sign of how much she trusted him. "What happened?"

Haleigh stared off into the distance... a long time ago, she'd been disillusioned... but since joining up with the Six, she actually learned what HAD happened to her first love: He became the Super Soldier. Her voice quieted, but she felt he deserved to know... if only because he was in the same position. "It's oddly funny, in a morbid kind of way. For many years, I was involved with the worst kind of men... the bad boys, the dangerous, exciting type. When I finally did turn to him... I found real love... and then... he was taken... by someone who wanted to get to ME. After he was gone... I took up with bad boys again... I guess... subconsciously, I didn't want to be that vulnerable... or be subject to such debilitative pain as that again."

Zach hugged her tightly, whispering in her ear, in the best comfor the could offer. "I'm sure.... if you could have done anything to help him... you would have."

Haleigh nodded softly as she returned his embrace. She sighed, as she put those memories away again... it was a place she didn't need to revisit. Little did she know that soon, she would not have a choice... for plans were being set into place that would FORCE her to deal with past demons... and that someone from her past was returning that would turn her world UPSIDE DOWN....

Nicolas listened as Morgan responded to him. She did seem to actually be giving an effort, but she was left a bit cold with his flirtations. He appreciated her candor and told her so, looking her in her eyes with all sincerity.

I can appreciate what you are saying and I thank you for saying it. I was afraid that we would never really talk about things. Morgan, you will find it very difficult to ask for something which I will not do for or give to you. I promise to slow down if that is what you want, but I ask that you in turn try to learn to trust who I am on the inside.

The elevator doors opened and they walked through the lobby. He smiled as he whispered to her.

But admit it, you liked the kiss, yes?

Morgan had asked her to participate as an "guest model" for Illustra. yet another step closer to Ava making strides in her new life, this would allow her and Morgan to further interact on a personal as well as professional level and help her to establish a bond with her similar to that she had with darkchilde and hecate.>>

:: the barrier between Earth and Limbo is surprisingly thin...but only those magick users with an awareness...let alone the knowledge and privilage to access the eldritch ream can negotiate the barrier. traveling through it is quite easy for some like Morgan, her cross time counter parts and Ororo...but for others...mutants, humans etc...coming through can be traumatic and spending too much time in Limbo can be detrimental as well.::

:: For Ororo, this was home. After her beloved X-men perished, Earth didnt seem very appealing to return to. It took her years to come to terms...and the memories of her own traumatic loss of her parents still remains in her mind as well....sometimes never go away..no matter how powerfull or wise a person becomes.::

:: Cameron however, did not belong here in the long term. Ororo had done all she could and a DAY had already passed in Limbo's time while on EARTH only hours had passed. It was time for him to go home and face all the challenges that awaited. Secretly, Ororo was glad to send him on his way. She still couldnt shake the feeling of guilt and indignation over her misstep with Erika and she had NEVER been too sure of Cameron even before this.::

:: as the time came to leave, Ororo found Cameron in the guest quarters of her Citadle.::

Ororo: it is time for you to return to earth. I have done all that i can for you here. the rest is now up to you. While i still have my reservations, it would be unfair of me at this point to deny you the opportunity to proove yourself. But it is not really ME that you have to satisfy...it is those that you so abruptly left BEHIND without any word. while the six have experience resurrections and returns before...in THOSE cases, they met DEATH head and knew what was happening. YOU left..without so much as a word of warning....with no way for them to know, much less contact or help you.

the initial moments may not be as "pleasant" as you might imagine them to be so hold yourself in readiness.

:: finally, the barrier is breached as white light fades to reveal the skies of EARTH. they arrive in New York City, on a rather quiet and gray saturday morning. high noon is approaching and things seem remarkably quiet and well ordered. the winds fan the city with a refreshing breeze even among the tall buildings.::

:: she kept herself and Cameron cloaked from the eyes of mortals as she sought out any member(s) of the Six to contact and the closest possibilities were Morgan and Nicolas, who were moving toward the Soho District OR Haleigh and her fiancee' Zach, who were at the nearby cathedral. Given Haleigh's attachment to Cameron, Ororo felt it might be easier for HIM to bring him before HER.::

Haleigh and Zach walk arm in arm up the steps of the breathtakingly beautiful St. Patrick's Cathedral (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/62/Saint_Patrick%27s_Cathedral_by_David_Shankbone.jpg ). It is located right across from Rockefeller, in the heart of Manhattan. Its neo-gothic architectural style is contrasted by the cutting edge buildings that surround it. The secretary gives them a brief history and background of the church, and some information pertaining to a wedding. Haleigh and Zach hold hands, and both look young and carefree, released from their burdens.... completely happy. Haleigh reiterates that money is of NO consequence, and that this place is PERFECT, as they all slow at the top of the steps outside the church. The towering, intricately decorated double doors are swung open, giving an open view of the stunning cathedral nave and sanctuary (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/St_Patrick%27s_cathedral_NY.jpg).

The secretary begins to point out some of the features in front of them, leading them through the nave and into an office where their meeting can be more private and details can be sorted out.... she offers them both a seat and they take it.... but she stops in midsentence. Haleigh's attention is called away from the statues and decor, as she looks at the secretary.... who looks... FROZEN. She quickly looks around, drawing a gun, as Zach wraps his arm around her protectively and draws a handgun of his own.

Zach:"What just happened?"

"I don't know, dear.... do you see anyone ELSE moving? This looks like Alison's work... or... Ororo has been known to stop time before too.... but it could just as easily be an attack..."

Zach:"Maybe we should take cover...."

"No... I don't think we're in danger.... anyone wanting to HURT us wouldn't have bothered keeping MORTALS from witnessing it."

She said, as they continued to look around. They watched the door of the office suspiciously... as Ororo appears beside them. Haleigh gives a start, then a relieved sigh.

"Oh.... Jesus Christ, Ororo.... you gave us a fright..... no, it's okay, don't apologize... I can't imagine you would just drop in. This can't be good... whatever is the matter?"

Erika King was and remains a source of displeasure to me. she deceived me, betrayed my trust and squandered my kindness like pearls before swine. I destroyed her utterly as she so justly deserved and while I could do little to soothe the pain of loss for Alison, yourself and your team in regards to Cameron....there was something ELSE that was not easily seen by any of you....including Alison.

:: the playback of Ororo offering Alison to say goodbye to cameron's essence and spirit before he departs this plane of existence flashes before Haleigh.::

what you did not see, is that I captured his essence and placed him in a sort of mystical incubator. with spells and rituals of healing, his spirit came to rest and i was able to help his BODY slowly reform and repair itself. It has been a LONG, PAINSTAKING process.

:: Cameron had never been more nervous but ready at that same time in his life. He wanted to return so bad, but with Ororo's final words before they left Limbo, Cameron himself was wondering if anyone would really believe him or accept him back into their lives? I mean he was technically buried and his peace was spoken, his final wishes carried out. What was stopping them from leaving the memory of him there? Nothing. They began their leave from Limbo, Ororo leading him to Earth with a speed and urgency he wasn't sure what she meant. Happy to see him return to Earth? Or Happy to see him leave Limbo? They made their way to New York City and Cameron took in a deep breath. It was amazing! It was everything he knew he had missed, which was a big step for him, seeing as he used to hate New York, preferring the sunny skies of his Los Angeles Compound. ::

"It feels good to be back!"

:: He wasn't sure how much longer he would feel that as he saw their destination. Haleigh! Tears nearly welled up in his eyes. Yes! She was alive, she was well, she was looking absolutely beautiful. Cameron just wanted to hold her, hug her, kiss her but he also knew that she would perhaps be the hardest to convince that it was actually him and that this wasn't the plot of somebody out to get her. All he knew was that he wanted to see her. As they made their way closer, he could feel the butterflies in the stomach and his palms beginning to break a light sweat as Ororo worked her magick and began froze the scene. He was standing right there but neither Haleigh nor this other man seemed to be able to see him. ::

"Can they not see me?"

:: Cameron listened to Ororo speak, and she was obviously very deeply affected by what Erika had done and he knew it would be a long time coming for Ororo to ever fully trust and accept Cameron, but then he heard it, it was his big moment. Ororo waved her hand in his direction and seemingly out of nowhere, Haleigh and her gentlemen friend were able to see Cameron, and he had never been happier to see someone in his life. He spoke to her. ::

"Haleigh! It's me! It's really me!"

:: He began to walk towards her, not knowing if he should run up and kiss her or just a hug, looking at this man as if they were both dogs and as if Zach had taken something that belonged to Cameron. He was nervous and decided to let Haleigh make the first move. ::

Haleigh stared increduously as Ororo prefaced Cameron's return.... mentioning that she secretly nursed him back to health.... it was a wild tale indeed.... nigh unbelievable.... but coming from Ororo, it HAD to be true, right?

"You.... did WHAT?!"

She asked, bewildered. Could it be true? It stirred up so many conflicting emotions.... to have Cameron back.... would be a true gift.... but also... it would complicate things. Letting Cameron go was the first step in becoming truly serious with Zach.... the thought of his return brought intense self doubt.... had she made the wrong decision? Given up on him too easily? He appeared in a swirl.... and Haleigh STARED at him, with a shocked expression... one that turned to horror quickly as he spoke. She BACKPEDDLED as he moved closer.... she didn't mean to hurt him... but she was so STUNNED by the one-two punch just delivered that she seemed overwhelmed.

"You.... NO.... I BURIED you.... I... God DAMN it.... I put flowers on your GRAVE two days ago!" She breathed, looking quickly to Ororo. "Is this some kind of SICK JOKE?? WHY are you doing this?! Haven't I done EVERYTHING you asked of me, Ororo? I know it can be lonely in Limbo... but it's not right to entertain yourself by cooking up some apparition to haunt me with!"

Haleigh was not taking it well... and her reaction no doubt dashed what ever hopes Cameron had of a pleasant reunion. Zach, meanwhile, glared silently at Cameron, as if he had come back JUST to interfere with his and Haleigh's wedding... it wouldn't be something that surprised Zach, knowing Cameron the way he did. Haleigh sat down in chair abruptly, raising her hand to her mouth, as the reality sunk in.... her heart raced as she looked at Cameron.... but she couldn't SAY anything more.... she could scarcely BREATHE.

My God.... could it be? She thought to herself.... it was all so much to take in... here he was, right in front of her... and Haleigh's face portrayed mixed emotions.

Ororo did this to HELP me, not hurt you, this whole thing is NOT about doing something to YOU, Haleigh, it was about HELPING ME! I was tortured at the hands of my SISTER and MALICE, a woman who MORE than almost caused the fall of the SIX, I was DEAD, something you were too, NOT TOO LONG AGO!"

:: He knew harsh words would be the only thing that might break through to her, she needed to be shaken, kept in reality before she just lost it, and if that met he had to PISS her OFF, then so be it. Haleigh and Cameron knew each other like the back of their hands, and nobody, not even ZACH :P could say that about the woman. Cameron continued alongside Ororo's words. ::

"Again, Ororo did what she felt she needed to do, the same thing YOU would have done. I mean seriously, Haleigh, if you KNEW you could bring me back, would you NOT have tried? Would you have left me for dead and gone off into the sunset with Mr. Goodbar over there? NO! You know it as well as I do, YOU WOULD HAVE SAVED ME! Don't get mad at Ororo, don't get mad at the world! BREATHE! Take it in. I...am...back. End of story."

:: Cameron stood there looking at her with open eyes, waiting for what would either be understanding or another emotional outburst, he was ready to argue until the cows came home, at least that way she would KNOW he was really back. ::

<< across town in the trendy soho district, Morgan sat poised in her seat across Nicolas at a covered table at a trendy and exclusive cafe. she kept her white rimmed, "over sized" , rounded escsada sunglasses on as she primped in her estee' lauder compact. there were some whispers and looks for not only was she recognizable, but Nicolas had begun to gain a following in NYC for something OTHER than what he was familiar with due to his triumphant debut as Illustra's signature male model. the sight of them TOGETHER was sparking a faint buzz of speculation. paparazzi were clamering as close as security would allow them which gave Morgan, Nicolas and other "high profile" patrons comfortable distance.>>

Morgan herself , despite her sunglasses, began to look rather sad.>>

i still...dont know why SHE had to be the one.

There's also the matter of her position..as VP of operations at Illustra not to mention her own substantial portfolio. HOW am i going to REPLACE her?

<< it bothered her that she had even REACHED this point in life. the idea of REPLACING Alison in any capacity! meanwhile ANOTHER sparrow landed next to the one already there....this one jostling the other one a bit as they both fixated on Morgan.>>

:: Ava was surprisingly having a nice time with Delilah. Both woman seemed to have things in common which made the conversation flow smoothly throughout the brunch. Just as Ava was making a toast to new friendships, her landline phone began to ring. ::

"Excuse me for a moment."

Ororo was right.... and Haleigh rubbed her temples, breifly shutting her eyes. People had come back before... SHE had.... morgan had.... blaze had.... in FACT... of all people, Haleigh should be the MOST receptive to this idea... for who ever REALLY stayed dead in their circle? but even this realization didn't make it any easier.

"I know.... I know... You're right.... I'm sorry.... I shouldn't have...."

She could barely put together a full sentence... but she tried to apologize for unfound accusations. She looked up slowly at Cameron.

"It's just--"

Cameron made a case for himself, and Haleigh furrowed her brow, rising out of her seat and standing up to him.

"YOURE GODDAMN RIGHT ITS HARD! It WAS HARD!" She growled, slowly advancing on him, pointing her finger at him as he continued. Cameron DID now how to reach Haleigh, though, and they seemed to come together as if they were NOT arguing about him dying, but rather, anything ELSE... "And do you know WHY, Cameron?? Because I let GO of you. When we found out you died.... when we had your FUNERAL... I let you go. [quietly] I HAD too..."

They were standing close now... and Cameron posed a rhetorical question... one that Haleigh felt she NEEDED to answer. "OF COURSE I would, Cameron! OF COURSE! I would have done ANYTHING to get you back!"

She replied fervently... but as Cameron insulted Zach, with palpable hostility, Haleigh SLAPPED him, fixing Cameron with a silencing glare. Her voice wasn't loud.... but her tone was deafening. "Zachary is a GOOD man. He was THERE for me when YOU weren't.... in EVERY way that YOU refused to be! [disbelieving laugh] You don't GET it, do you? I'm NOT mad at HER [ gesturing to Ororo].... that was misplaced.... the person i'm REALLY mad at... is [poking him forcefully in the chest] YOU. [poking him again] You LEFT me... without ONE WORD, [poke] you ABANDONNED me... and it REALLY hurt... because... it's not the FIRST TIME something like that has left me cold and alone.... but THIS time... I had Zach to turn to.... so don't YOU be mad at HIM... because [poking him one last time] YOU made YOUR bed.... and I was never in it."

Haleigh held his eye contact, as Zach looked on, feeling a little vindicated and relieved. He wondered if this meant Cameron was no longer a threat.... but doubted it.... for some reason... he KNEW Haleigh still loved Cameron... and that was why she was MAD at him now....

:: Cameron's face fell back at the touch of Haleigh's hand slapping in the face. And for what? Zach's sake? He was a good man? So the fuck what? She didn't really love him, she didn't really love him, she was settling. She was doing what she thought was the right thing, moving on, and Cameron wasn't having it AT ALL. ::

"I wasn't there for YOU!? Don't EVEN play that card with me, HALEIGH! DON'T EVEN! (laughs) Let's not forget how EMOTIONALLY unavailable you have been to me since day ONE! You sit on your THRONE of excuses Haleigh. EXCUSES for why you can't tell me what you REALLY feel, and how I WON'T until I hear it from you. I never REFUSED to be there for you Haleigh, I refused to be there for the WALL that you kept up around me, SO if you MARRYING this guy makes you REALLY feel like you did the right thing, that you MOVED on, Haleigh, then go ahead and do it, but we both know, its a fucking JOKE, a means to an end. I can't believe I REALLY thought we could make this work, I CAN'T BELIEVE it!"

:: He was really hurt by this, looking at her now, his mind was receiving images of the times Zach and Haleigh had spent together. The days, the nights, the stuff he never wanted to see. He wanted to explode he had tried to be cool, calm and collective but seeing that man there, seeing him with his arm around Haleigh, kissing her in his visions, to know, she SLEPT with him, it was almost too much to take. He leaned in, this time really only going for a last jab before he left, whispering in her ear. ::

"Just remember, i know the secrets you keep you when you lay down to sleep, i know how you really feel, so when this is over, and you realize the MISTAKE you are making, gimme a call, until then... I wash my hands of you..."

:: It was the last thing he wanted to say, he wanted to beat the shit out of Zach and grind his face into the pavement, but he couldn't. He was angry, and it was understandable on BOTH sides. He looked over to Ororo, and sighed. ::

"Thank you for everything Ororo. Honestly, I don't think even YOU knew this was going to happen. But I can't stay here, and you don't have to chaperone me. I need to see my sister. I need to be alone, I need... I need to THINK!"

:: And with that Cameron left the Cathedral, the church, the grounds all together and began to make his way back to Illustra Inc. Thinking that it couldn't possibly get any WORSE ::

<< the situation was as difficult as Ororo had expected it to be for Cameron himself wasnt prepared for what HE saw either. Haleigh glared back at him as he retorted... their scene began to look like a battle of the wills, and how much they truly cared about each other showed in that with each reply, they BOTH tried to hurt each other even worse. There was hurt and spitefulness coming from both sides, and as Cameron whispered a final vindictive stab, Haleigh put her guard back up... and let her anger be her armor. She yelled after him as he began to leave.

"DONT you try to pretend this is all MY fault, King! Dont you DARE! You KNEW I was with Zach for a LONG TIME! You KNEW every night I'd leave you and go to him! If you knew I was making such a BIG MISTAKE being with him... why didn't you SAY SOMETHING?! [narrowing her eyes] If you CARED so MUCH.... why didn't you STOP ME?!"

She huffed angrily, as he stalked off. Ororo stood there, looking at Haleigh as if it fell on HER to tel Cameron that he couldn't see Alison... that NONE of them could, but Haleigh refused stubbornly.

"Well? I'M not going to tell him! Let him go home to find her apartment EMPTY... as I did his for MONTHS before finding out he'd died... let him see how THAT feels!"

She crossed her arms, looking around at the birds, seething. There were getting on her NERVES... she felt the strong urge to just play TARGET practice with them at this point.... she'd never SEEN so many birds in one place... and they were cooing and chriping and WATCHING her and it made her ANGRY. She took a deep breath and sighed, looking up at Ororo with an apologetic tone.

"Look.... thank you for doing this... it WAS supposed to be a good thing... you CANT have known that he would come back as a big talking penis." She said, rolling her eyes. The NERVE of that man! Nicolas was in a really cool zone right now. They had taken a nice table at a very trendy cafe, and he realized that they BOTH were getting lots of attention. He enjoyed her company as she made small talk but eventually, the topic came to the big issue for them all...Alison. he could tell that Morgan was still torn about it and as she spoke of missing her, he reached out and touched her hand for a moment.

I am so sorry, Morgan. I miss her badly myself and I was not nearly as close to her. Perhaps we could check on her soon, after we are sure she's settled in?

He listened further about the job at Illustra.

I am certain that you will find someone...suitable. In fact, Delilah and Ava are both trainable if not already qualified. In any event, I can help in any capacity you require until you decide what to do in the event that you cannot handle it yourself, which I would argue you can. Look...

Nicolas lifted her chin slightly so he could look into her sunglasses.

let's try to enjoy the day, OK? Tell you what. Pick whatever you would like to do and I'm game. I want Morgan to enjoy the upside of being Morgan. I want to see how cute you are when you smile. Besides, we haven't given the paparazzi enough to talk about yet. May as well whip them into a frenzy, I hear it's good for business.

Ororo
05-10-2007, 08:09 PM
:: Ororo stands tall and silent as she watches the FIRE of accountability and passion ignite between Haleigh and Cameron who were reuinted in a way that most mortals couldnt even dream of. all of the mortals, all of the MOVEMENT itself in and around St. Patrick's cathedral has been suspended in time while Ororo is present as rolling grey thunder clouds play an ominous roll of thunder in the air and if that wasnt strange enough...crows are flocking in LARGE numbers in the trees that canopy the garden, only ADDING to the confusion and dischord. Ororo KNEW that this wouldnt be easy and NEITHER of these two knew the meaning of the word "relent", each one seeking to one up the other...striking deeper at each other's cores. but only two things could motivate someone like this. LOVE OR HATE.::

:: Cameron bid Haleigh a spitefull farewell and asked Ororo to take him to his sister. She did not move accordingly, instead raising her hand.::

Ororo: stop where you are, Cameron.

:: she said matter of factly.::

You cannot go gallavanting around the city, much less anywhere else. You have only JUST returned and the world believes you DEAD. any sight of you now by anyone OTHER than your immediate team at this moment could compromise MORE than just your safety and well being. You have only been alive, integrated and conscious for MOMENTS in earth's time and as such, your powers are not fully focused.

:: as Haleigh looked at Ororo the first time, obstinantly refusing to reveal the status of Alison like a child being visually scolded by a parent or teacher, Ororo starred at her with an unforgiving glare. this stubborness was NOT NEEDED.::

Haleigh, now is not the time to with hold information. Like it or not, Cameron is HERE and as such, has a RIGHT to know the status of his sister, Alison but I cannot, MUST NOT "care" for him any longer. His desire eto return to earth and to resume his life...or what he would like it to be...is too strong.

:: Haleigh apologizes to Ororo and sarcastically suggests that even she couldnt know how ridiculous Cameron would behave upon his arrival..but in FACT, Ororo had suspected as much ALL ALONG. His impetuous nature was deep seated within him.::

Though I do not call this realm of earth my home anymore, I am not unfamiliar with the ways of men, Haleigh. I was once the rider of the winds on earth, a mutant like you and during my youth, I knew the pleasure AND the agitation of the company of men.

But this moment only serves to underscore my warning to YOU Cameron, that no one can nor should they be expected to STOP their lives simply because you have "returned". you LEFT just as abruptly as you returned and while Malice and Erika were responsible for your near death..it was YOUR descision to seperate from the Six without ANY notice that set you UP for capture in the first place.

Your team...EVERYONE who is directly or INDIRECTLY involved/effected by you will have to adjust as YOU will have to adjust.

Find a way to adapt. You have no other alternative..NEITHER of you do.

For your benefit, Haleigh. I will put everyone in and around this cathedral to sleep, allowing you, your fiancee and Cameron time to return to the most obvious place to discuss this situation...Illustra. You will have moments to depart before my spell wears off and those effected by it will have no memory of anything OTHER than the discussion of your appointment with the priest.

Fare thee well.

:: and with that, Ororo nods and waves, departing in a column of spinning winds w/ dried and dead leaves. the haunting whisper of the winds fade as Ororo vanishes, leaving the three young people there in the garden to remember her words and admonishing.::

With Morgan, Nicolas and Dr. Victoria en route to Illustra from one side of town, while Haleigh, Zach and a miraculously returned Cameron make their way from another direction and Ava and Delilah are already on site...the team is about to be brought together...with one noticeable (and sadly missed) exception....Alison Marble. at a time like THIS perhaps most of all, her presence will be missed by the team..and even MORE so by her recently returned baby brother.>>

<< But even as the team is about to be confronted with this most personal issue of Cameron's return, they will be confronted with forces of nature that are seemingly out of balance as has been noted at various times this morning. what is causing this and why its increasing is not yet known and without a precog in their midst, the team is about to experience their first mystery without the advantage of "foresight". the powers and abilities..the DIVERSITY among the Six make them still a very formidable group and their spirit, their resilience and ability to adapt (even if its unwilling on the part of some) is what will allow them to survive to figure out just WHAT or WHOM is behind all this.>>

<< the winds blow and the change that comes...is uncertain and promises to be UNPLEASANT.>>

Haleigh stared as Ororo prepared to leave, assuring Haleigh that she would allow them time to leave before righting things here at the Cathedral. Haleigh protested desperately.

"HEY! You aren't really going to.... but you CAN'T JUST--"

Ororo disappeared... LEAVE him with me.... She thought, finishing her sentence silently. She tossed her hair back with a frustrated sigh, looking Cameron down as she and Zach passed him.

"The car is right over here."

She said frigidly, as they came upon her Aston Martin DB9 (http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9G_RtvCxUNGWT4BTyujzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTA4NDgyNWN 0BHNlYwNwcm9m/SIG=12f5mjj78/EXP=1178933058/**http%3A//www.autoimage.cz/aston/Aston_Martin_DB9_2004_001.jpg). Zach got in the passenger side, and Haleigh pulled her seat forward. If she HAD to be stuck with him, at least she could make him ride in the back seat. ;) The tone of her voice was firm and gave the impression that she was NOT in the mood for his attitude.

"Just GET in the car, I'll drive us home."

At first, she shifted gears angrily and drove agressively.... but after a few minutes her anger seemed to subside... and it was almost like she integrated with the vehicle, the accelerating and maneuvering became as smooth as glass, and she mentally tampered with the traffic lights to give them all greens on the way back. She glanced at Cameron in the rearview mirror. She took a deep breath.... Ororo was right.... he DID have a right to know about his sister.

"Look... Cameron.... you can't see your sister.... she's... not with us anymore. She's okay... she's fine... but she's not a part of the Six. She became the Keeper of Time.... the Harbinger. She resides in Greece, where she protects Pandora and her box of goodies.... and all of the relics that should never fall into the hands of men. It was.... her destiny... and she chose to accept it.... and now... so should we."

She explained, sighing as she pulled up at Illustra behind the stretch hummer that holds Morgan, Nicolas, and Dr. Victoria. Haleigh rolls her eyes as they all exit her vehicle.

"Boy, we never stray very far, do we?" She comments sarcastically, as she slides the seat back into place after Cameron gets out. "Initiate Garage Sequence." She commands, and the car responds politely as she shuts the door.

>>Garage Sequence Activated. Parking Now. Goodbye.

It drives away slowly, headed for underground parking as Haeligh steps up onto Illustra's sidewalk, acknowledging the photographer from Cloud 9, one of the contracted companies that help with some of LCI's innumerable demands for photoshoots. She gave him a quizzical look... mostly because she didn't understand WHY he would be here on Saturday, when Illustra was closed?

Nicolas knew that his words would not stop the pain, but he tried his best to ease it, let her realize that it did not have to be an end, as long as they could see each other. He realized even more how close Alison was as Morgan was taking the situation VERY hard.

He was about to speak further when Karen Victoria was introduced. he stood out of respect and nodded to her, smiling. She was absolutely radiant in her outfit and he laughed to himself as he congratulated himself on being seen with the two prettiest women in the room!!

As they were about to dine, Morgan's phone rang. They both checked their hair, all at once, a generational double-take that Nicolas found endearing and amusing all at once. HE would have to poin-

ZIP!!!

A pair of sparrows fly past WAY too close and fast, nearly hitting the pair of witches. They both give identical exasperated exclamations and Nicolas immediately hails the host as he regains his feet, nearly tipping his chair over.

The attendant checked on them and informed them discreetly that their drinks were on the house. Morgan was very gracious, but Nicolas gave the man a simple heads-up as he tipped their server.

I would try to shoo them away a bit today. They are acting far too erratically, but if you try to drive them off, be careful. Something seems not quite right.

The ride back was relatively uneventful, with Illustra business interrupting their time together, at least for the moment. As they arrived back at the building, Morgan approached the Cloud 9 truck to inform the photographer of his error. He noticed Haleigh and Zach in their truck pulling up as well. He stepped out of the vehicle, reaching back in for Karen...

:: Cameron was more than upset when he heard Ororo call him back and have her warn him of not having people stop or change their lives for him. He wanted nothing more than to revert back to the old Cameron, roll his eyes and stalk away but he couldn't. In his eyes, he was not acting ridiculous. Ororo had no clue of the relationship between Cameron and Haleigh. It was TWISTED yes, but he felt it earned more than a few months before someone was ready to marry another person. Especially when Cameron KNEW in his heart how she felt about him. He looked at Ororo and sighed deeply as she made her goodbyes. ::

"Again, I know I sound like a broken record, but thank you Ororo. You have given me something nobody else wanted to or COULD, a second chance, for that I am grateful. I know this might not mean much, but if YOU ever need anything, from the biggest to the smallest, let me know, and I will do anything in my power to help you out. ANYTHING..."

:: He nodded to her as she made her way out of the realm of Earth and back to Limbo, a place he eerily missed all of a sudden. The raucus of the birds was getting ridiculous as he was now left with Zach and Haleigh. This was the LAST place he wanted to be, but putting his tail between his legs, he slowly made his way to Haleigh's car and reluctantly got into the passenger seat. On the way there, Haleigh made a STARTLING statement about the whereabouts of his sister. He let out another giant sigh and wanted to crawl under a rock and cry. He thought out loud. ::

"Great.. just great! The one time I have wanted my sister more than EVER, and she has to fufill a destiny... I thought she was the only person who would understand and be NORMAL around me.. the only person I was counting on that HADN'T changed, but why the hell not!? Haleigh's married, Alison is gone! What else could go wrong? Are the birds going to take over New York?"

:: Haleigh's car soon made it's way to Illustra behind a black hummer which only meant one thing. MORGAN! She was..she HAD to be..alive! The last thing he had seen from her was her entering the Siege Perilous. He thought she was dead! Things were looking up! As everyone exited the car, instinct took over and Cameron booked it towards Morgan, WRAPPING his arms around her and hugging her with ALL of his might, quite the uncharacteristic display between them in the past. Tears fell down his eyes. ::

"Son.. of a BITCH! Morgan! YOU ARE ALIVE! I THOUGHT YOU DIED... The Siege Perilous! I thought you died! But! But! You are alive! I never thought I would be so happy to see you in my LIFE!"

:: It was probably the most ironic statement said that night since everyone assumed Cameron to be dead. He quickly gained composure and realized this might not have been the best course of action as he pulled away and looked at her teary eyed. ::

"It's me, Morgan! It's Cameron! I'm alive...again..."

:: He waited for the explosion ::

As Nicolas opened the door for Karen and escorted her out of the vehicle, he noticed at the last second a white male in a ROBE grab Morgan, jabbering about the Siege Perilous, As he released her and stood, Nicolas grabbed him by an arm HARD and pulled him to one side. Nicolas did not recognize Cameron from the pictures and since the incident at the eatery Nicolas was QUITE protective, especially since Morgan was already upset about Alison. He shook the man vigorously as he addressed him...

Back up! What the hell is the meaning of this? Who the hell are you?! Speak quickly!

Haleigh's eyes just about popped out of her head, as Cameron bumrushed Morgan, pulling her into a hug and raving like a lunatic. Haleigh rushed up to referree. She may be frustrated with Cameron.... but the LAST thing she wanted to see was him eldritch blasted to oblivion. She yanked him back and threw her arms up at Morgan in a halting, 'don't hurt him' gesture. She threw him a warning glance over his shoulder as she rebuked him for an overzealous response.

"Have you LOST YOUR SENSES COMPLETELY?!"

She said, before facing Morgan again and trying to reassure her.

"Easy! He's telling the truth... it's him... It's really Cameron. [exasperated] Ororo just delivered him to me a few mintues ago.... [giving Morgan a meaningful look] While Zach and I were looking at a venue for the wedding."

Haleigh glanced at Nicolas, who was no doubt wary and surprised at the same time. She placed her hand on Nic's forearm, gently separating the two men, giving Cameron a look that said 'DONT make this harder than it is', gave Nicolas a soft smile and an introduction.

"Nicolas.... it's okay.... you two don't know each other... This is Cameron King. He was one of the founding members of the Six.... he died a couple months ago.... before you came to join us."

:: After speaking with Morgan, she and Nicolas were on their way back to Illustra to figure out the photography session fiasco. She also informed Delilah that she wanted to meet with her as well. Excusing herself to change, Ava slipped into some dark washed low cut skinny jeans that fit perfectly to her curvy frame, a black boat neck long sleeved form fitting shirt, and black peep toe stacked heals. With her long dark brown hair already waved with curles, she simply ran her fingers through it before exiting her bedroom and meeting with Delilah in the main living area. ::

:: Reaching the lobby with Delilah, Ava could see Morgan's large stretch hummer already parked in front of Illustra. The photographer was also waiting outside. But as she got closer to the main door, another man, who exited Haleigh's car, ran up and threw his arms around Morgan, giving her a hug. Ava looked confused as she punched in the codes to unlock one of the main doors, and stepped outside into the chilly New York weather. Leaning over to Delilah, Ava softly whispered to her. ::

"Should we be concerned?"

:: Talking about Cameron of course, Ava glanced over to the photographer who was standing there silently watching Morgan and Cameron interact. Hearing Haleigh state the mystery person was Cameron King, that was Ava's cue to quickly escort Mr. Lavoisior away from the pending conversation that was about to take place. No need explaining to the photographer that Mr. King was once dead and now back again. Stepping over to him, Ava extended her hand in a professional greet before putting her other on his shoulder and ushering him a few more feet away from the conversation. ::

"Ava Cassadine. I'm sure once Ms. Victoria is done....greeting her guest, we'll figure out this mix up."

As Nicolas prepared to escalate the situation he felt Haleigh's hand on his arm, gently easing his hold on the man in the robe. He relaxed a bit as she explained that this was the formerly DECEASED Cameron King. Nicolas then recognized him from the photos he had seen. He placed a hand on Morgan's shoulder and nodded at the man before him as he spoke. His voice was actually quite even. Nicolas had seen enough amazing things that this did not really impact him.

I apologize for my...abruptness. It's been a trying time for all of us. My name is Nicolas. If you like I can have some appropriate clothing retrieved for you.

<< as one of Morgan's long , flawless legs emerges from the stretch hummer and her white escada high heel touches the ground, Morgan slips out from the vechical and makes her way toward the mini van and river, recognizing the other vehical to be Haleigh's, Morgan doesnt immediately look but as the breeze blows and Morgan is still thinking about about those birds that nearly grazed herself and her mother at the cafe, BAM! suddenly she is accosted!>>

<< Gasp!!>>

<< she cries out as she looks to see who her assailant is...CAMERON KING!>>

WHAT!?

<< she pulls away!>>

GET AWAY!

<< shrieking with shock and disbelief as CAMERON is practically mauling her and speaking about the seige perilous. Nicolas and Haleigh rush over with Nicolas forcibly yanking Cameron away from Morgan and demanding to know who he is while Haleigh appeals to Morgan , reassuring her that this is no attack and that it IS the real cameron.>>

Ororo delivered him to me a few minutes ago...

<< Ororo wouldnt play any tricks or be a party to deceit. If SHE had brought him...then it must be him and Haleigh, as she was now, wouldnt be a party to such a terrible joke either. Cameron meant more to him than perhaps anyone else on the original six. It was so shocking..that he would appear NOW after all that had happened! it wasnt that she didnt believe in returns and resurrections..hell SHE had been rescued from oblivion herself!>>

.....

<< she looked as straightened her white versace jacket. Cameron was going on and on about death and coming back to life and while she was still processing the long absent sound of his voice, Ava and Delilah came. Ava WISELY lead the photographer away from this scene but had it been soon enough to prevent him from hearing "too much" already?>>

Cameron....returned....

<< even with her rounded rim, white, "over sized" escada sunglasses on, the expression of uncertainty and dismay could be seen on Morgan's wintery face.>>

this...this is...outrageous!

<< she said in an icy voice>>

WHY did you do this!?

You LEFT without one word! WHY did you hurt Alison like this! ALL YOU HAD TO DO was TELL US WHERE YOU WERE GOING and we might have been able to HELP YOu but NO! true to form you just had to do things YOUR WAY and caused yourself to get captured and KILLED..or so we thought. WE had to pick up the pieces at a time when the future of this team was at stake and you subjected ALISON to MORE pain than she should have had to bear.

all the pain and trauma that Alison went through...we GRIEVED WITH HER when you were thought to be dead! We endured the treachery and menacing of ERIKA and it was for NOTHING.

I'm GLAD she's not here to see this.

<< her own mind was reeling. it wasnt his RETURN that was so unbelievable. it was the fact that it SEEMED that he expected HER of all people to be GLAD to see him. She grieved with Alison when he died, she remembered how badly they started off and how she tried her best to kill him and for that she was deeply regretfull but she couldnt forget other things...mainly the way he treated most EVERY woman he came into contact with! his constant verbal abuse directed at HER. his death was horrifying news for the team...for alison...but his ABRUPT DEPARTURE was something even SHE remembered. it was right after the NERVOUS caper but just BEFORE Master Mold. He disappeared without a word, notice or explanation and it was during THAT time he must have fallen into Malice and Erika's hands. and then there was ERIKA...the woman whom he touted so much OVER Alison and SHE turned out to be just as psycho and just as no good as Kelly King. how IRONIC. If only Cameron had been here to see THAT but no doubt Ororo has read him the riot it and morgan was going to do the same...if for no other reason..than to defend Alison's character...which he had SO OFTEN assassinated.>>

You missed out, conviniently on your sleazy sister, ERIKA who prooved to be the weak, erratic, ineffective IDIOT that I always beleived her to be when she ATTACKED Alison at the reading of YOUR will in Alycia's office and threatened her life! Believe me, if ORORO hadnt killed her I was going to. SOMEONE had to have Alison's back and this team was here for her. I was here for her.

<< sitting in the stretch hummer with Morgan and Nicolas. Karen went over some information in her PDA. clients, colleague contacts and other things. she smiled at her daughter, who was sitting across from her and then Nicolas....as they finally arrived to Illustra's office park and circular drive.>>

<< Morgan exited and then Nicolas. He turned and offered her a hand.>>

Thank you, Nicolas.

<< she said with crystal elegance as she took his hand and help while exiting the vehical. JUST in time to see Morgan being rushed by a man!>>

MORGAN!

<< She turned as her eyes widened. At first glance, especially given how he was dressed, the doctor didnt readily recognize who this was but even as she exclaimed, Nicolas was upon him. Karen rushed over as Haleigh arrived and offered a SHOCKING explanation. as she leaned in and looked closer at the young man...she was RIGHT! it was Cameron King!>>

oh my stars!!!
-"samantha stevens- bewitched tv show :D

<< she blinked intently as she starred at the young man, narrowing her eyes for a momente as she watched her daughter's own body language. Morgan was clearly uncomfortable.>>

<< Cameron was rambling on. far more VERBAL than she remembered. SHE remembered a cocky, arrogant man who was very MUCH a womanizer and when he wasnt needlessly provoking Morgan, he was secretly checking her OUT. Karen never trusted him from the start but when she learned of his seeming death at the hands of Malice, she grieved with his team and showed her respect by attending his funeral. she offered her support to Alison during the traumatic reading of the will in Alycia's office when Erika attacked Alison and threatened her life! all the pain and the trauma that had come from Cameron's "death"...had been NEEDLESS and as Morgan reacted with indignation and shock...Karen's mind immediately shifted into therapist mode. the first thing was to get them INSIDE to a quiet, PRIVATE setting.>>

<< looking over, she saw that Ava had diverted the photographer. she turned to Haleigh and Nicolas.>>

This is not the place for THIS. this kind of revelation is too MUCH to be merely "discussed" out on the street. We need to at least move inside to the crystaline lobby.

Morgan, honey, let's come inside. It will be better for everyone if we deal with this behind closed doors.

<< she placed hand on Nicolas' back and gently moved him along while doing the same with Morgan as she directed Haleigh and anyone else involved to follow.>>

<< with Karen's direction, Morgan takes the time to correct the confusion about the meeting with Cloud 9 and graciously sends Anton on his way. Karen then gently guides her daughter and Nicolas inside along with the others.>>

<< once in the massive crystaline lobby of Illustra, Cameron will notice that the building is thriving and that its as beautifull as it always was but many of it's inhabitants have changed. some seem jaded, others have left and there are many faces he doesnt even recognize!>>

<< on this saturday the usually silently lobby of illustra is now filled with the sound of high heels hitting the marble floor along with the foot falls of men. the group is silent..most are still trying to digest what has just been thrust upon them.>>

<< carrying on after a loss is hard enough, being confronted with yet ANOTHER curve ball in the midst of that can proove too much for some but somehow, the six, collectively have prooven to be surprisingly resilient and adaptive...just BARELY.>>
