So, here's ANOTHER topic that rages on and on but really, i want to know what our family here on the board thinks. Don't hold back.

what DO you think about the subject of Illegal Aliens? i know for my part...i wasnt nearly as aware of them in Detroit as I am down here in Tennessee i see them EVERYWHERE and they are so bold with it..even HOSTILE as if they DESERVE to be here and damn the legal process.

i think that because they were so TIGHT with monitoring immigration up in detroit being that is one of the nerve centers for the federal government because of the border crossings to canada and because it has the largest arab (and one of the largest mexican) populations on the east side of the country. one monday a month, i would see lines of perspective immigrants wrapped around the federal courthouse where i worked attempting to apply for worker permits and visas but for all of those that were trying to do it the right way, there were scores MORE who werent and i see THAT down here in tennessee BIG TIME.

something needs to be done and i personally dont believe that an "illegal alien" has ANY rights and so all these "alien advocates" need to step back and shut the hell up. Tennessee and alot of other southern states are like a natural expressway for illegal aliens and these people feel like they have the RIGHT to be here without due process involved.

I feel like they should be rounded up and sent packing FORCIBLY back to their own countries but not before they are booked into the system as CRIMINALS and barred from EVER becoming citizens here.

I kind of disagree. Yeah there are bad people who come into the country illegally but there are just as many bad people who treat being a citizen like shit and were born here so they have those rights and I do not think that is cool.

But when I think of how desperate people are that they fucking go on a raft over the ocean to try and make it to shore so they can give birth to a baby in the states so that he/she won't have to go back, then I think there is a problem.

Not to mention I think that most of the time, illegal aliens are way more hard working than our actual legal citizens.. they take the jobs americans feel are "above" them and everyone in their family works.

I have just had different experiences with illegal aliens, and I don't think it is fair to talk about a general group of people as illegal aliens since you don't actually know if they are illegal or not.

I mean it really depends on where you live I guess Nevada/California have a LOT of "border hoppers" but I have never really had a problem with it.

Round them up, send them back, put Military on the boarders with deadly force authorization, and more. Key word is "illegal" that's criminal and all criminals should pay for their crimes.

I dont know in the beginning of the UNITED STATES we all came her without asking and I always just felt that it was ridiculous for people who live in Mexico to have to stay there, be hungry, be poor and DIE simply because they were born there?!?!

I mean you would have a COMPLETELY different view on this from their side if you were 12 years old and working like five jobs just to have not even enough to get by, or an african woman who flees to the states to not be the victim of female circumcision?

I just think that is such an unjust thing to say Osiris.

That was the beginning. Now we have laws, these laws are established to protect the citizens of this nation. Every nation has laws to respect their sovereignty. But the main issue is really the overuse of resources. If 10 citizens pay taxes to support the same 10 citizens resources than another 10 join the community don't pay taxes but utilizes the same resources that 10 support then two things have to happen, either the 10 have to get used to now having 50% of their resources, or they have to pay more to sustain what they are used to.

If illegal immigrants were paying taxes like you or I (considering your American), than I wouldn't have that much of a problem.

Now political asylum is a whole other thing. Women escaping the scourge of FGM or any other abuse is one thing, but I'm 100% certain if millions of women from any region illegally trespassed our boarders used our tax dollars without paying in to the system, then people such as myself would be just as anti them as anyone else.

As far as working hard and having a rough life...well, most immigrants from other countries seek to enter the country the legal way. My feelings are not anti-immigration, but anti those who would say our boarders mean nothing as well as our laws. If you want to leave Mexico than do it like every other person that wants to enter our country. What happens if your from Haiti and you try to flee to America? What about Cuba if you don't touch land? Why should Mexican Nationals be any different?

i have no sympathy for illegals. MANY of them have the attitude that they have the right to just come over here, circumvent laws and established procdure and some of there are here for the express purpose of illegal activity such as drug traffic, prostituion etc.

[though i despise him] i completely agree with osiris on his last post and i just feel like that ALL the illegals here, REGARDLESS of whatever else, need to be rounded up and sent. its ridiculous that the supposed "greatest country in the world" cant even control its own damn borders and that our government seems more concerned about coddling special interest and the mexican government (who themselves have admitted that they PROFIT from all the illegal immigrants that sneak over here, obtain jobs and funnel the money back to Mexico...without paying a DIME in u.s. taxes). Over 10 million illegal aliens in the country...and MORE coming ....its like we're being overrun by a colony of cock roaches.

illegal aliens take advantage of all our government programs that are meant to aid LEGITIMATE american citizens and families and down here, ive even see instances where illegals get PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT over bonafied american citizens in places like doctor's offices, the secretary of state/deparment of transportation safety and other places. THAT to me is ridulous

The issue of illegal immigration has a significant impact on society. Illegal immigrants regularly find work in low-skilled jobs in the garment industry, restaurant industry, landscaping industry and others. The costs are extremely high to legal U.S. low-skilled workers who often lose jobs to illegal immigrants who are much more willing to work in menial jobs for less pay. Further, employers benefit from these workers because they are typically paid under the table, which reduces pay-roll taxes, provide a cheaper source of labor, and have no legal recourse regarding working conditions. There are also a host of legal and insurance considerations involved in this issue, like fines for employers who hire illegal immigrants and the arrest of illegal immigrants caught unlawfully working in the U.S. Poor legislation and the very nature of U.S. business is often blamed for the high number of undocumented immigrants finding work in the U.S.

As much as I would like to sympathize here, I think illegal immigrates are more harmful than good.
