I'm hispanic, its 2006, and THIS kind of crap is still going on? What the fuck? And how the hell are either of fucks eligible for parole? Even if it's after 30 years it's horseshit.

What makes someone think that's allright to do to someone else?

Unfortunately, once people see others as less than themselves, it is a really short hop to these types of atrocities. Amadou Diallo, anyone??

this is..outrageous!
and the fact that these were TEENAGERS who did this to another boy....this lets you know that racism is FAR from dead in America...if anything its just more COVERT.
i notice that it didnt mentioned if the victim survived or not...:(

I noticed that as well :(
But I think this goes to a bigger problem even than racism - just detachment from normal human behavior.

I guessing the victim is still alive as a murder charge wasn't mentioned. Though after something like that I know I'd rather be dead. I mean castration? What the hell is wrong with these people?

i think borderline personality disorder is probably a decent start. sociopaths? more than likely...anyone who can just do such things without any restraint or moral conscience...that definately goes BEYOND the realm of "psychotic" and into a realm far more dangerous.
so vil is definately on to something when she mentioned a "detachment" from human behavior....not just NORMAL human behavior.

Hmm I didn't see where it said he had been castrated. How awful :(

There was no mention of castration but they did mention sodomy instead. What I wanna know is why the mother was "sleeping" through all of this, couldn't she hear what was going on?
I personally think they need to take the attacker and do exactly the same thing to him and then kill him. Never mind giving him 90 years to rot in prison. Why should he get fed, shelter, etc, and maybe even parole in 30 years. That seems a luxury for someone that sadistic. Maybe I'm too harsh but when I read articles like this, I firmly believe in an eye for an eye. Why waste money on allowing him to live, especially with such a vicious and atrocious crime like that. How is that setting an example to other possible criminals who do worse to mere frail children, let alone teenagers.
I just don't comprehend the system at all.

you aren't the only one. but its not just the system...its the mentality of some people...and how they feel their racist beliefs give them the right to hurt and kill others.
there's alot of shit going on.
