LOL! move over Roger Ebert.....Miranda is the new critic...and she DEFINATELY hated "Boogyeman"! :p

personally...i dont think any "horror" movies of today will stack up to the golden age of Horror in the late 70's-80's. there have been a few moments...like the Scream Trilogy, The Grudge and perhaps even Cursed...but all these attempts at "high end horror" like Hide and Seek....puhlease....you cant be a critical darling AND attract the horror movie buffs at the same time.

I only really liked the grudge and the ring, cuz instead of using monsters they used a bit of suspense. I like resident evil 1 and 2 as well. But you're right horror movies suck.

oh yes...i totally agree...resident evil 1 and 2 were fantastic (there's a thread dedicated to those movies in this forum too..if you look down a few threads) ;)
but for the most part..the horror flicks of today just dont work for me. they try TOO HARD to be glossy and win over the critics..instead of going for the audience appeal.

I saw the previews for the Remake of the Amityville Horror.. which the first version I thought was soooooo weak. This version looks petrifying! LOL.. So I will give that one a chance but I just dont want to see this one really at all lol.

I Had High Hopes For Boogeyman And It Was Such A Let Down. I Saw The Preview For Ring Ii And Amityville, But Im Biased As Far As Amityville Because The Original Kicked Ass.

I just didn't like it.. It wasn't scary for me.. Maybe I just didn't get it.. The whole scene with the Priest and the flies I was just sitting there being like "What is he Doing?" I think that the house itself just scares me so I will go see the remake ;)

I bought the Grudge on DVD this weekend but would highly recommend checking out the movie it was "based" on (read: directly ripped off scene for scene and almost shot for shot) It's a Japanese film called "Ju On" (translation: "The Grudge")

I did enjoy the remake but I think I would've enjoyed it more had I not seen the original first.
