Battle of Red Cliff
John Woo just made another trip to Beijing for the preproduction of US$ 50 million historical drama. During his staying in the city, Woo talked to screenwriter Zou Jingzhi, cinematographer Gu Changwei ("Farewell My Concubine"), costume and production designer Tim Yip ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"), according to Chinese paper Nanfang Daily. Dong Ping, the president of Beijing based Asian Union Film and Media, has assured that Chow Yun-Fat and Jet Li would be in the project. The script will be done in March and the shooting might begin by the end of this year.
Inglorious Bastards
According to the HSX (http://movies.hsx.com/servlet/SecurityDetail?symbol=QTWW2), Quentin Tarantino has penned parts for both Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis in his upcoming war epic "Inglorious Bastards". Attached already are Adam Sandler, Michael Madsen and Bo Svenson. Miramax will distribute the film which revolves around a group of disgraced U.S. soldiers during WW2 who manage to escape the execution squad by going on a daring mission to help the Allies in the fight against the Nazis.
Predator
LatinoReview (http://www.latinoreview.com/) had a first time scooper 'From a Santa Monica Office' tell them the following: "Twentieth Century Fox are in talks with John McTiernan to do a new "Predator" film - not a sequel, not a remake, not a prequel, more of a restart. There's talk that it might fix on Dutch's (Arnie in the first film) grown-up commando kid. John Cena's (one of Vince McMahon's kids) name has been branded about for the lead - but it's early days. They apparently want to coax McT away from "The Thomas Crown Affair" sequel, have offered him this hoping it'll do trick"
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4
A subtle update made just in the last fortnight on the official TMNT site (http://www.ninjaturtles.com/)'s FAQs page asks what's going on with a fourth movie: "We're currently working with a studio on a new film. If we can come to an agreement on the script and they can find a distributor for the movie (neither of which are guaranteed), we hope to have a new movie in theaters in 2007."
The Last Voyage of the Demeter
Freeze Dried Movies (http://www.freezedriedmovies.com/news/index.php?Action=Full&NewsID=2195) received a scoop with confirmation that both Val Kilmer and Adrien Brody could both have major roles in Sony's upcoming horror thriller "The Last Voyage of the Demeter" being directed by Robert Schwentke. 'Demeter' is about the ship that carried Dracula's coffin from Transylvania to England."
X-Men 3
Down in Australia to promote "Hide and Seek" and quickly visiting friend Bryan Singer, Famke Janssen revealed on the "Today" show that she has just finished working on the third season of "Nip/Tuck" and her next project will indeed be "X3".
