Firstly, I'm not American. I'm actually Irish. This means that American politics isn't my forte. Since coming here a lot of the topics of debate happen to be sampled from the old US of A. In the Ann Coulter thread the member, Zorcrow, said that Ann wanted to do what most people did "end the threats against America". As a non-American, I have no idea what these threats are and would, personally, like to be educated on this. What exactly are the threats against America and why, exactly are they threatening it and how?

This isn't me trying to make small of any opinions. I'm just naturally curious.

They are playing on the "fear" that followed 9/11. The Bush administration has used 9/11 as an open ended mandate to justify all kinds of shit that they have done...from out right LYING (weapons of mass destruction) to erroding our privacy rights and civil liberties in the name of "national security".

the fact of the matter is ..if someone wanted to attack America and had the power to do it..they'd DO IT and nothing that has been done in the name of "national security" would make one bit of difference.

One example of how incompetent our current administration is: Our government DISGRACED our nation to the WORLD with its HORRIFIC handling of Hurricane Katrina and while you certainly cant blame Bush for a natural disaster itself..you CAN blame him and all the federal agencies under his power for the SHITTY , INCOMPETENT way in which they let those people suffer.

"the threat" is going to be ANYTHING that Bush and Condoleeza Rice tells us. Whomever doesnt fall in line with what THEY feel is the right thing is going to be a risk or a threat to America and our national security. Meanwhile...our diplomatic relations with other countries have never been worse than they are now...and we are are in the WORST shape we've BEEN in for decades.
