some of my absolute FAVORITE characters in Marvel Comics are: Magik I & Goblyn Queen (Madelynne Pryor) together, these women were responsible for the INFERNO which was one of Marvel's most memorable storlines of the late 1980's. Between them..there is so much viciousness, mystical power and awesome presentation!!

here is a website (whom the creator credits ME with inspiring her to make it) that does a BEAUTIFUL job of paying tribute two these two powerfull women.

: This page is dedicated to Farrah, who is the one responsible for getting me interested in Magik. Glad you're back! (Well...I guess you never really left, but you know what I mean...^_^) taken directly from-http://magik.strength-within.net/info.html

I've tried to get the creator (who used to call herself "Dark Phoenix 2" on Marvel Boards and joined the MoE as "Phoenix"(a fire elemental/mutant) to come here but she said she's too busy to join the boards at this time :( but i promised her I'd make sure that I got alot of folks to check out her work..and get to learn a little more about some of the most powerfull women in the X-men corner of Marvel Universe!

Please take a look, sign her guest book and post your feedback about the two characters HERE in this thread!

hah. Madelynne would thrash his ass from one side of NYC to the other :haha:

She's connected to Cyclops, Cable (her son), Jean Grey (her genetic template), and Havok.

oh yeah girl...Madelynne Pryor and Scott Summers gave birth to Nathan Christopher Charles Summers aka Cable. :D She attempted to sacrifice him during the Inferno Crisis in an act of revenge against Cyclops who had ABANDONNED Madelynne and his sun when Jean Grey returned "from the dead" back in 1986. It is from Madelynne that he inherited his telekinetic power and through his "big sister' Rachel Summers (aka Phoenix III/Marvel Girl III) that he learned how to USE his TK power to combat the spread of the techno organic virus through his body.

You know I'd like to thank Marvel for Maddy she took the female character to the next level!

She's a bit of a skank though she's been with both Cyclops and Havok, Sebatian Shaw and her own son Nate Grey (Cable from another Universe) yeah she just kissed him but still that NASTY.

But anyway a Woman wanting to kill her own son to get at her creator and Husband was an awesome reaction. She was damn powerful as well and completely moved away from being just a Jean clone which she was and that gave her respect as a character in her own right.

I never knew much of Maddy. But I wonder who would win if herself and Magik were to battle? ;)

Like Vil, I too never knew that Cable was her son. I never read much of the comic's. I remember the X - Men cartoons though. ;)

the X-men animated series BARELY did justice to the comic. The only nice thing about it was seeing the characters that I had grown up reading finally being ANIMATED and given voices.

as for Goblyn Queen vs. Magik...thats one hell of a fight to consider...since BOTH women were responsible for the INFERNO cross over and BOTH women possess incredible power. I know as far back as the "Fall of the mutants" storyline, Magik displayed a dismissive and disdainfull attitude toward Madelynne but I'm not quite sure why...they hardly interacted (except during the Asgardian Wars storyline several years prior)

I cant even begin to give my feeling on who would win....just to see such powerfull women battle would be awesome.

what did you think of the pages for each woman?

The Magik page was superb. It's really easy to read and the Bio was enough for people like me who know not that much about the character.

The Maddy page was a little hard to read (maybe just me purple on black is HARD to read) but again a tidy bio on her again and also plenty of links for both to read more on.

I think I am a little biased because the only character I know alot about is Magik because of Farrah. I think both of the characters are really interesting.

In a battle between them I think that Magik would have the upper hand... well maybe Magik from Exiles, she was MUCH more cutthroat and kind of sociopathic there lol.

Plus Magik has more control over her demonic side, etc. and has a lot in terms of raw power..

Based on what I read about Goblin Queen, I think she is a little too emotional, and like if Illyana could get Cyclops or Jean Grey to appear at some point in the battle, Madelyne would just totally forget about Magik and just ATTACK those two haha.

I would like to say though, on a side note, is that I have always wanted to see Farrah REALLY play Magik, she KIND of did in Masters of Evil during the battle where DC's mom died, butI would like to see her play that more.

It's like.. Okay, I got to know Darkchilde well, I got to know Spellbinder, and now I want to know Magik. ;)
