So is anyone reading the Iron Man series that is out right now?
For those that haven't I have to ask... WHY?!? It is so great that it makes me want to scream, “I love Iron Man,” in front of unknown people. If you ever wondered how powerful Iron Man really is, check out Iron Man numbers 6 and 7. If you guys have been living under a rock for the past months then you wouldn't know what Iron Man's new powers were, I shall inform.
Tony Stark was near death so he had to take a serum, kind of like the Super Soldier Serum but ten times more powerful. He made a few adjustments to it so he could have it as an advantage to what he already has, which is the wonderful Iron Man suit. He gained the powers; the inner interior to the Iron Man armor now is in side of him and he can activate it to appear when ever he pleases. He now has complete control over the suit and can move faster then you can say “Iron”. His suit altogether moves, works, and activates its gadgets a lot faster. Tony can talk to people now without using a cell phone and he can see through satellites.
For an example of his speed, check out Iron Man #7, it is truly breathtaking.

I'm a little confused here; I didn't think it was like the Super Soldier Serum at all. After all, the SSS was a concoction of exceptional steroids and enhancers, designed to bring a human body to the peak of its possible physical perfection (stabilized, of course, with the radiation-based Vita-Rays). By contrast, what Tony injected himself was a modified version of the Extremis virus, which was a techno-organic virus, the result of which was that many of his biological systems fused to an extent with technological ones, including his armour's innermost layer.
That is right, isn't it? I haven't just made it up?

Well, yes... If you want to put it scientifically. I just use SSS as a way of explaining it because not everyone is a living computer...;)

so what IS happening with Ironman now that he murdered Captain America? are the effects of "civil war" permanent or was it just another stunt ala' house of M?

the after effects of civil war aren't going to disappear that fast but i think its going to be 2 maybe 3 years before civil war, "which side are you on" goes away.
AS for the the current Iron man series. it is great, but i hate the fact that its the only book putting Iron man in a positive light. in every other books he seen as the devil and worst but his is the only book that balances and shows his actions in civil war as they are meant to be seen.

what is his status with the avengers? i mean personally, i NEVER liked the guy. he was a boozing womanizer (not quite as bad as doctor strange in his early days...but sitll) who seemed to think he was doing everyone a favor. when he led the charge against Ms. Mavel for HER alcohol problem a few years ago (only after she crashed into his office and beat him the hell down LOL) I thought..what a frickin hypocrite.
he , along with reed richards seemed to be the ULTIMATE sell outs to me during the whole civil war thing.

this guy is such an ASS! Aside from the fact that he funded/funds the Avengers...WHAT IS THE POINT of him? without his suit he's POWERLESS and he's a hypocrate too. He decried Ms. Marvel for being an alcoholic, yet he himself was one (infamously) and he wound up getting his ass kicked by Ms. Marvel :D which i loved.
He was a totally insensitive and closeted racist (imo) during the whole Triune Understanding subversive for his refusal to bring in more black Avengers...he even ADMITTED that he came off "looking like the grand dragon of the ku klux klan" at one point. I loved how Triathalon busted his chops every chance he got.
Ironman prooved to be such a sellout during Civil War/Super Human Registration and i HOPE he turns out to be a SKRULL so that he can be destroyed :D
How does a man with NO super powers himself come to basically GOVERN those who DO? and why is Ms. Marvel basically his mouthpiece and catspaw now?? he even suspects HER of being a skrull
I hate him.

Because he is a Skrull...and probablly so is a majority of the people controlling the US Government as well as the Governments of many other Nations. The reason he supects her of being a Skrull is because he is trying to throw everyone off of his scent just like Luke Cage is trying to throw the idea about Iron Man, Jessica Jones, his own Daughter and Spider-Man being Skrulls when he is probably one himself. The Skrulls gotta throw the suspicion off themselves so they constantly blame other people...and let's face it...most people (like the Sentry) are too stupid to put 2 and 2 together and realize that the reason these people claim that other people are Skrulls is because they are the Skrulls themselves...but are obviously too impatient to keep up their facade unlike the Skrulls impersonating Giant Man and Black Bolt who played it cool until it was the right time to come out of the woodworks.
Plus...Iron Man can control the Super-Humans because...Oh CRAP!!! What Infinity Gem did Reed Richards give him?! Oh my God!!! I forgot that he got an Infinity Gem and if he is a Skrull like Black Bolt was a Skrull....well then we are just all screwed aren't we? Nothing worse than The Skrulls having two Infinity Gems in their grasp...unless it is all of the Infinity Gems in their grasp!

Iron Man isn't a skrull not only would that make zero sense but they also wouldn't make him one when they are about to launch a new title and his movie is coming out soon

It doesn't NEED to make sense anymore...IRON "MAN" has The Reality Gem! Do you know what that vile little piece of jewelry is capable of? Whosoever wields it can influence the course of events in one's own reality as well as others. The wielder also can change that Reality to suit his or her needs and can also travel between Universes with it. With The Reality Gem...Black becomes White, Up becomes Down, Men become Women, Cats become Dogs. With the Reality Gem whatever The Skrull Empire wishes to happen can happen and no one can do anything to stop it because they have used it so damn wisely that not even the great forces of The Universe are aware of what is going on...except maybe The Watcher but he cannot interfere in any event whatsoever.
The Skrulls won the day Iron Skrull got that Gem and are now proceeding on collecting their earnings. With patience and God-like powers nothing needs to make sense anymore. The Reality Gem was the missing key to this whole Secret Invasion plot...it's how they might have been able to impersonate the more powerful entities like Phoenix and several others.
The Invincible Iron Man series will only serve as one of those things that screw with Continuity...like House of M or Heroes Reborn or Onslaught and so on and so forth and when Iron Man is revealed to be a Skrull...some people will be so angry that they will want to see a Real Iron Man and will go watch the movie...problem solved. Marvel Makes Money and we all lose the Comic World we loved so much once upon a time.

it doesnt look like this walking can opener is going anywhere anytime soon. with his movie doing so well at the box office and his new ongoing series coming out, it looks like he's here to stay
but i have faith in that old but true rule...what goes up...MUST come down.
what a shame that he couldnt have an unfortunate visit from Phoenix...:fdevil:

I'm not talking about Phoenix IV, silly child.
I can think of any NUMBER of characters that would hand Iron Man his ASS. Ms. Marvel has already done it (with such savagery that i couldnt help but applaud).

Carol was predestined to be "Pro Reg" given her own near death at the hands of Rogue and other issues , thats why in disaster scenarios like Days of Future Past, she was on the side of the gov't oppressing mutants.
Ms. Marvel is more powerfull than Iron Man and has been shown to have her doubts as well as go off on Tony while leading the "mighty avengers". its only a matter of time before she breaks the ranks...and if he tries to do something, she'll beat that ass ONCE AGAIN! ;)
ETA: the difference between my bashing Iron Man and your dismissal of Dazzler is quite different for many reasons, not the least of which is your age, you werent born until shortly before Dazzler was written out of the X-men. prior to that, Dazzler enjoyed huge success as a solo heroine, a supporting member of X-men and later as apart of the team's roster. She was at one time an arguable candidate for what would now be defined as "omega mutant" status due to there being no upper limit to her power. Her powers have upgraded (very strategically) and she has had her own impressive rogue's gallery. She single handedly destroyed Project Pegasus and even came to the attention of Galactus (i LOVED the "What if" that spun off from that). she was intregal in many storylines of the x-men.
You dismiss her as a "disco queen" but she was so much more..and she didnt rely on a suit to give her power. NOR is she an asshole that sold out most of the super hero community.

A scathing but accurate evaluation of shell-head, Spell.
I will say, however, that his new Extremis upgrade has lifted him again in terms of power. i would still afvor her, but not by much admittedly.

She's a mutant and he's a normal human being so that's a rather poor comparison there. Also, he didn't sell out most of the super-hero community, he tried to keep control on the matter when he saw that it wasn't going to go away. Plus, blame Bendis not Stark for all of that.
