<<night gives way to a new day. The surviving members of the Six and their allies will gather together with other public officials and noted attendees to pay their last respects to the fallen Senator Sharon Kelly.>>
<<Haleigh would arrive with the team while Alison would arrive with Karen and Alycia, shadowed by a trio of Clandastine agents to back Alison if the need to protect Alycia should arise. After all, Alycia HAD publicly called out MysTech for their role in Sharon's death as Master Mold was a super sentinel of Mystech design..and was controlled and operated from an as yet unrevealed source.>>
<<the day was mild but grey and over cast...the mood was solemn all across the board. as people from across the city and from around the country even began to arrive at various places and make their way to a beautifull, historical cathedral and attend the funeral/memorial service for Sharon Kelly.>>

Haleigh stepped outside Karen's loft, looky weary and desolate. A silver, darkly tinted Rolls Royce Phantom was already waiting for her. Her trademark 'batmobile'. She drove back to Illustra, numb from mourning, her car running on autopilot... and good thing, too... she was so out of it she might not have been capable of navigating her way back through the city and getting home alive. She walked into Illustra, ready to end the one of the longest days of her life. She had one more stop: the security control floor, sandwiched between the residential floors and the business floors of the Illustra tower. she found her way to the main control room, passing several rooms of monitors and a handful of her own men, standing guard and watching monitors for the slightest of anomalies. Inside the main room, which held more monitors and a large computer mainframe, there were three men on duty. They all stood to greet her.
"How are things looking, gentlemen?"
Patrick:"Nothing unusual... we implemented the ET shields as Agent Armani asked. Certainly keeps the bird shit off the Helipad."
"Wait, Zachary asked you to do what?"
Patrick:"Oh, sorry, grunt terms... the pulse protections shields. You know, if any kind of projectile or unidentified object gets within the caution zone around the building, the pps will zap it... like on War of the Worlds... and Independence Day? The ET ships always have those shields that make everything us puny humans throw at them into pudding?" He said, with a slight laugh lining his tone. Haleigh didn't seem as amused, but she nodded, indicating she got it. He pressed on though, wanting to at least brighten the grim look on her face. "Director? Base says their also ready to activate the Molecular Dissipation Safeguard."
Haleigh looked at him... a little surprised at the news. "To keep out beings using magickal transport? I thought we were having problems blocking people completely?"
Patrick:"They say they tried something else instead... REROUTING those trying to get in without permission to a completely off the wall and random geographical location... it works like a message forwarding system. It can't be folled by visually adapting mutants, glamouring into who they want to look like, either. Anyone who doesn't have the exact genetic ID required for permission gets 'forwarded' somewhere else."
"How about the mouth of an active volcano?" The men laughed... but Haleigh still looked stern. She ran her hands through her blonde hair, and gave the order to activate the new protocol immediately... though she wasn't sure why, she asked them to deny permission to Alexis for the time being....something was amiss with that woman and Haleigh didn't want her sneaking about Illustra like a spider. He guess was that with the way Alexis had been acting, she wouldn't even WANT to return to illustra. Haleigh had already been told the retrieval mission hadn't gone as planned... Zach had told her as much... he had also told her he ordered the men to stand down and return to CI... and that he'd explain when he got to her flat tonight. She'd been stretched too thin to even argue. She excused herself from the security room, some of her worries abated.
She let herself into her flat, taking off her shoes and collapsing into the couch. It was quiet all around her, and she numbly thought about the day, until the sounds of Zach and the dogs entering finally gave her distraction from the inevitable return to the last moment's of Morgan's life. Delta and Echo were both bounding with energy, and jumped up onto the sofa with Haleigh nuzzling her and licking her ears even as she pushed them away playfully.
"GROSS! Come'on... yeah yeah... i miss you both but i can do WITHOUT the kisses, thank you... Christ... the fuck? Zach.... did you give them ice cream again??"
Zach: "Why, no dear. I don't know WHATS gotten into them..." he said innocently.... Haleigh sensed he was just playing dumb... but she was too drained to press it. Echo rolled over in Haleigh's lap, and Delta, on the other side, sat so close to Haleigh she was nearly on top of her.... but at least they'd settled down. Zach took off his coat and shoes and came up behind the sofa and wrapped his arms around Haleigh, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Oh, about Miss Quartermaine... I didn't want them to make a scene... I've been monitoring her stats... her vitals are all normal... but there is something strange. Her brainwave patterns are completely different from those recorded for her. It's like looking at two different subjects."
"Did you see anything to suggest mental disease or defect? Maybe losing Morgan triggered a psychotic break." Haleigh offered, craning her neck to look back at him.
Zach: "No, nothing abnormal... what I'm seeing... is unprecedented... her THOUGHT PATTERNS have changed... its like.... you look at the kitchen counter, you think food. I look at the same counter and think sex. Its like SOMEONE ELSE is doing the thinking for her. Very Bizarre... but NOTHING akin to dissociative or psychotic anomalies. I pulled up the transmission in your office... definitely somehting you'll have to see for yourself."
Haleigh sighed... "I don't really want to deal with that right now... If possible, I think today was even worse than yesterday... I just want to unwind."
Zach nodded. He also smiled, recognizing that there was no better time than the present. "I have something to cheer you up with. I'll be right back. Close your eyes.... and no CHEATING with the security cameras." Haleigh looked skeptical but did as he asked... Delta and Echo seemed to get excited again. Haleigh could hear Zach walking out to her door, getting something from the hallway, and walking back to her, this time cirlcing round the couch until he was in front of her.
Zach sat on the coffee table, his heart pounding... he lowered his gift into her lap and told her to open her eyes. Would it work? Brighten her spirits a little? He didn't think he could bear seeing her tonight as she was last night.
Haleigh looked to her lap, the source of the weight Zach had suddenly dropped to her lap. She gasped, and immediately looked at Zach in disbelief before a decrepit smile broke the dull pain on her expression. He had dropped a slobbering, undeniably cute and surprisingly heavy Great Dane puppy (http://www.akc.org/images/breeds/great_dane/photos/lg_great_dane2.jpg) into her lap. It wagged its tail excitedly, and Delta and Echo's behavior suddenly made sense. It was just so adorable, with huge paws and floppy ears, that Haleigh's mind was brought entirely away from the grim reality she was facing... and she felt her heart leap.
Zach:"She was the last of her litter... I saw her and couldn't resist. I thought about looking around at different places for a boy... but it was love at first sight. I know 'Foxtrot' is after Echo... and its not a very feminine name... but I just couldn't leave her after I saw her."
Haleigh looked up at Zach, a glimmer of happiness in her eyes. "I think I'll break tradition... and name her Morgan... that woman COULD always be a bitch if she wanted to." Haleigh said, giving a halfhearted chuckle. Zach knew instantly he'd cheered her up, if only a little. Hell, she'd cracked a joke... maybe his plan had worked even better than he thought. He took Haleigh's handed, and she squeezed his hand as she used her other to scratch behind the puppy's ears. As suddenly as it had come, though, Haleigh's smile faded. She looked up at Zach. He hadn't thought it the moment would be so shortlived, and was disappointed slightly. so much for his plan.
"Zach? I love you." Haleigh said abruptly. Zach smiled, squeezing her hand again. "Well, I love you too darling--" He started, not understanding why that was so earthshattering. But Haleigh cut him off... and her voice was more urgent than before. "No. I love you and I want to marry you."
Zach stared at her. Was she on drugs? "Sweetheart... are you sure? I mean, do you realize what you're saying?"
Haleigh seemed suddenly irritated, as if she felt she was being coddled like a child. "YES i'm sure. Morgan died... Prophet disappeared... and neither of them really knew how i felt about them... how much I cared... I don't want that between you and me... Heaven forbid, If I lose you... or if i die... I want to know that there was NO QUESTION about how much you meant to me. You're the one bright spot in all the darkness. Now, damn it, I don't want you to try and talk me out of this... I just want an answer."
Zach smiled, a sweet, tender, and what seemed [Haleigh felt] relieved smile. He reached up to the puppy's collar and turned it until the buckle showed... Haleigh followed his line of sight until she saw... in the place where the name tag ought to be, a thin string tied an engagement ring to the collar. "Guess you beat me to the punch."
****************************
Haleigh stared out the panoramic windows of her sitting room... the puppy had also already gotten up, and was wandering around her apartment. It was gloomy outside, a reflection of her mood. She was already dressed in black, a feminine cut business suit, nothing showy. No need to steal the scene... Zach got out of the shower, and began putting on the three piece suit Haleigh had suggested he wear. Haleigh wondered how Delilah and Blaze were feeling this morning... she wasnt even going to mess with Alexis... she had an ominous feeling about Cameron. She prayed today would just go as planned... it was already awful enough without any interference.... she had a bad feeling about that too... it was probably too much to ask.

:: Alexis had already slipped past Haleigh's security and was headed to Sharon's funeral. It intrigued the meta human how Haleigh's security was almost non-existent...how simple it was to leave the confines of Illustra. Haleigh wasn't a dumb woman, and Alexis knew she was slowly catching onto the changes occurring within her. But Haleigh wasn't a threat nor a concern to Alexis at the moment... ::
:: The limo pulled up along the church's entrance, and already there were news camera's taping the arrival of guests as they left their limos and entered the church. It was a dreary day; overcast and cloudy. Very typical, it seemed, that even the weather seemed to mirror the moods of the people who were mourning over Sharon Kelly. ::
:: As Robert, her driver, opened the limo door for her, Alexis placed a single exposed leg outside of the vehicle, planting her black ankle wrapped stiletto heals on the concrete sidewalk. Rising out of the car, camera's immediately turned to Alexis as she stepped into view. Wearing a simple red dress (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/images/prodlgvw/V250885.jpg) and a large circular rimmed black hat that cast a shadow along her face, Alexis began to walk forward and up the stairs to the church doors. Gripping her black clutch purse within her hand, she lifted it to an approaching photographer and turned her face away as he began to snap shots. Letting out a low sigh, the blonde finally reached the doors of the church and stepped inside to the dimly lit building. ::
:: Slowly walking down the long ails, Alexis' midnight eyes scanned from person to person as guests began to look at her and whisper. Lifting her chin ever so slightly, Alexis reached around the 15th row of pews before stopping. The first 10 rows were already filled to the rim, and the 11th and 12th were slowly beginning to fill as well. Deciding to keep her distance from the gossip and whispers, Alexis crossed her long legs and sat back, making herself comfortable. Well...as comfortable as one can make themselves during a funeral. ::

<< Karen sat in front of her vanity. looking very solemn...almost stone faced. her hair was pulled back into a bun much like Alison's trademark style. she black wide rimmed gucci sun glasses that hid her eyes and provided a "mask" like effect for her face. she looked so stern. in fact she was weary from a night of painfull mourning for her own daughter. She wore a Black gem toned tailored donna karan blazer and skirt with black nylons and black donna karan pumps. a simple strand of the most exquisite pearls adorned her neck. she lowered a Black dupioni hat with black matte satin sash, double bow with short tails, and veiling to complete the look. The look of an elegant woman gripped with the pain of loss.>>
<< she sat and looked at herself in the mirror...the gucci sun glasses and the vieled hat, along with the elegant, feminine black suit made Karen look so different than what people were accustomed to seeing her. she didnt say a word...and moved much slower than usual.>>
<< Alison was in another part of the loft...making final arrangements for Alycia's protection.>>

:: Alison was standing by a window in the sun room wearing a Calvin Klein lingerie strapped, tastefully low cut, figure flattering black dress with slit up the side. bare legged, she wore four inch high heels designed by Jae Renee. it was a simple, yet non traditional black dress for a funeral. showcasing Alison's own ample cleavage and smooth, toned legs. Her hair was bone straight, parted down the middle and once again styled in a sleek bob which reached just above her shoulders.::
::holding her clutch, she talked on the cellphone with a Clandestine agent and instructed him about how to handle Alycia's transport. they would meet with Alycia and travel together to the cathedral and sit with the rest of the Six.::
::as Alison turned to see Karen emerged, she noted the doctor's elegant yet somber presentation. the two women were dressed so differently...yet the pain of loss was evident in both of them.::
Karen, it's time for us to leave...our transport is waiting for us down below. We'll pick up Alycia on the way and travel together. are you ready?
::Karen nodded silently as she picked up her own purse and adjusted her veil. the sound of the women's high heels could be heard as they walked across the hard wood floor toward the door. stepping out and closing the door behind them...they went on their way down to the Black luxury designed Escalade and boarded. heading off to pick up Alycia::
Alycia Barnett
04-18-2006, 10:27 AM
:: Alycia stood tall. her feminine slender, naturally toned frame added to her intimidating presence. She was as tall as Alison and could walk in high heels better than someone women walked in flats. She also wore a tailored black Blazer of Escada design and a matching black skirt with a higher hemline. sheer black nylons and black Escada high heels adorned her long legs. Her hair was down and styled in a flawless wrap.::
:: Waiting quietly, she seemed lost in thought herself. Alycia would be announcing her resignitation from her post as ADA for the state of New York and After Sharon's funeral She would be performing one last service for the estate of Morgan Victoria before informing that team that she would be retiring to become a private citizen. She was leaving the life she had lived for so long but after everything that has happened, she was just too tired, too weary. She'd been receiving many obscene phone calls and hate mail from "anonymous" sources ever since she had CALLED OUT MysTech for their hand in Sharon Kelly's death. But the survielance tape, provided with her eye witness testimony had started the LONG overdue process that Sharon herself had been calling for...the INTENSE scrutiny of MysTech by all branches of federal law enforcement, the FBI, IRS , SEC and more. It was a bitter sweet victory...a telling blow to mystech...but at the cost of Sharon Kelly and Morgan Victoria. Alycia felt numb...even her breathing seemed shallow to her. She looked beautifull ....but she felt dead inside.::
::finally Alison and Karen arrived and Alycia was escorted out by a clandestine agent who was dressed in a dapper suit. helped into the escalade, Alycia greeted Alison with a hug and hello and Karen with a hello and a long embrace. she knew from the look of Karen that she too was in a world of pain....a mother mourning the loss of her only daughter.:
Alycia: ladies, you're looking very nice this morning. ::Alycia spoke with clarity but her tone was muted...the sadness affected them all.
:: as the women were seated again and comfortable, they were driven off. Alycia couldnt help but think about the night she and Sharon were riding in a limo...how they were being driven...before Master Mold attacked. she sat and starred out of the window...various images of that night and other memories of Sharon flashed through Alycia's mind as the trio were making their way to the cathedral.::

After spending time with Delilah for a while, Blaze decided to return to her old room. Delilah already confirmed she would be living in Morgan's penthouse to take care of Morgan's beloved felines. Walking into her old room, she shut the door behind her quietly.
Her green eyes observant to the small changes Delilah created, which she liked. Especially more of the European furniture. Walking into her bedroom, her heals clicking on the hard wood floors. She stopped when a small meow greeted her, Midnight. "Midnight!" She grinned, picking up the sleek black and white tabby. His fierce claws "needling" into her top with an infectious purr. He knew his owner when he saw her, it seemed Blaze was a magnet to all animals. Perhaps it was her animal magnetism, but even the most vicious beast froze at the sight of Blaze. Her slender fingertips stroking his soft fur. Carrying him into her walk in closet, she looked through her wardrobe.
Sighing under her breath, Blaze felt her lip quiver. Clamping down on the motion, she placed her kitty on the Queen size bed of hers. Her eyes washed along the mirror nicely tucked on her dresser. Leaning her palms against the dresser she stared into her reflection. Today was the day. Bowing her head, that anger swelling inside her body. Her fingertips bending at will into black claws. Clawing down her dresser she glanced back into the mirror, noticing her black eyes. Swinging her fist through the mirror, pain shot through her fist. A loud shattering scene of glass shards sprinkled around Blaze.
Midnight jumped at the sound before jumping off the bed, running out the bedroom. Blaze noticed the red trail of blood soaking her knuckles. Pain...it felt good in some masochist way. It was her way of believing she was alive and Morgan dead. A low growl vibrating her chest before swiping the glass off the dresser. Slamming her fist down against the wood, sending small cracks through it.
"Damn you, Morgan!" Tilting her head to the side in pain. Blaze couldn't shake this anger or sadness she felt. She was hardly in the mood to play dress up at all. She despised funerals and everything they stood for. She preferred to grieve in her own way.
Getting back to her closet, she pulled out a black and violet pin stripped business suit. Nodding approval, she began to undress. Her knuckles still bleeding, what happened to her healing factor? Yanking an old shirt from the closet she ripped it in two. Wrapping it around her knuckles, stabilizing the wound. Finally dressing, she kept her hair down and wavy. Her make - up dark and very smokey.
Stepping out of her apartment she hailed a cab. Paying the driver up front with the extra cash Delilah supplied her. Climbing out of the car, Blaze sucked in a breath buttoning up her suit. Her dark oval Calvin Klein sunglasses masking her predatory look inside her eyes. She recognized most of the guests.
Arriving inside the old cathedral she raised off her sunglasses. Her eyes scanning the old church. Spotting Alexis, she ran her tongue over her glossy lips. Her heals clicking against the smooth flooring. Purposely walking to the tenth row, she moved in to sit down next to her. Crossing one leg over the other. Leaning in her cool breath tickling Alexis' neck.
"Why you left me breathless in that elevator.." Pulling back she smirked. Tilting her head, her eyes falling over Alexis. Perking a curious brow, "you know...you ooze Helena....which...itsn't a bad thing at all." Looking straight ahead, Blaze lengthen her arms to move to the back of the bench, stretching out. Bandages across both knuckles.

[ Delilah stepped out of her Lexus and looked across the street at the church. She felt so detached from events - it didn't seem real that this was Sharon's funeral she would be attending. She wore a Tahari pinstriped suit (http://www.neimanmarcus.com/products/mp/NMT0KP5_mp.jpg) with scalloped trim and Kate Spade sandals (http://www.neimanmarcus.com/products/mp/NMX6724_mp.jpg). She removed her black sunglasses before shutting the car door and proceeding to the church.
She looked inside quickly. Blaze was sitting with Alexis - what was that about? She decided to wait out in the fresh air for Alison and Karen to arrive. She wanted to see them before she took her seat. ]

:: With her eyes focused ahead, the moment Alexis felt Blaze's presents next to her, Alexis shifted her glance up to the standing woman giving her a cold, unapproving look. Rolling her midnight orbs away as Blaze took a seat next to the meta human, Alexis casually kept her eyes focused forward feeling her cold breath dance along her neck. Left her breathless....? Well that was one way of putting it. Running her tongue along the front of her teeth, Alexis suddenly grew stiff at Blaze's comment about her "oozing Helena". Fire began to grow in the pit of her stomach...being compared to her aunt was like a sharp knife slowly being dug and twisted into her side. It was never wise to do so.. ::
"Isn't it a shame that we finally have you back on the team....and Morgan's dead? It's funny how the powers that be work...you never know who'll come back....and who'll be taken away."
:: Turning to Blaze as she stood from the pew, Alexis moved past the woman with ease then stopped in the ail. Looking down at her, Alexis sighed. ::
"Life's a gamble like that I suppose...."
:: Walking forward, Alexis took a seat about four pews ahead of where she was sitting. She wasn't in the mood, nor had the patients for Blaze's lack of tact and ability to hold her tongue. Saeted next to an elder couple, Alexis re-crossed her legs and waited for the service to begin. ::

Full of fire and vigor, Blaze grinned to herself. She felt the fire inside Alexis grow at the Helena comment. Wasn't revenge sweet? She cackled under her breath before straightening up. Her eyes filing up into those blue orbs, curious to see what Alexis had in store. Alexis' childish comment was so typical, but she struck a comeback of her own.
"It is, which means I'll be harassing you more often Pollyanna. Yes...Morgan is gone but she'll still be more powerful than a skanky dust bunny such as yourself, even if she is..dead."
Her lips twisting into a demented smile at the Meta Human. Standing up, her height around the same as Alexis. "Awww, was it something I said peaches? By the way...love the outfit its so...1960."
Winking slyly, she sat back down. Crossing one leg over the other, she shook her head. "Poor bitch she needs to get laid." Another older woman glaring at Blaze. Leaning forward she whispered so only the woman could hear, "old crown you better turn that nasty little glare of yours into a smile before I knock you off that bench so hard you won't know what hit you!"
The old woman's features froze as Blaze turned to hear the old cathedral door opening. Her hunter green eyes noticing the others. She caught Delilah's sky blue eyes, motioning her over.

"No... let her go... just watch her."
Haleigh said, still staring out into the gray. She had been referring to Alexis, who had just shown up at the funeral... Haleigh had been contacted, her field agents at the church had spotted Alexis wlaking in and wanted to know if she was still to be apprehended. But Haleigh had spent a good hour or so last night looking at the brainwaves Zach had been talking about. Indeed... something within her mind was... not quite right... Haleigh wanted to keep her distance... a tactical move that would allow her to see just WHO was doing Alexis' thinking... and where it would lead.
Zach came out, wearing black save for a white tie, tucked into his black vest. Haleigh didn't move. Her voice was dull and saddened. Unlike Karen and Blaze, who couldn't bring themselves to speak Morgan's name for fear it would cement her death, Haleigh used her name as much as she could for fear that not using it would allow her to slip further away.
"I hate this gloomy weather... I wish it was thunderstorm and get it over with... It would if Morgan were still alive... the weather always seemed tailored to her moods... If she were here... mourning Sharon with us... the weather would be more exciting."
He pulled on his jacket and wrapped his arms around Haleigh, kissing her neck and taking her left hand. He lifted it up to look at the ring there, on the all-important finger, and kissed the back of her hand as he offered words of encouragment.
Zach:"It'll all be okay... you'll see. It'll get better. Everything will turn out alright in the end."
Haleigh stared out into the window for only a second longer. She too admired the engagement ring and felt a slight, but fleeting, glimmer of something other than grief. "I wish I had your Faith, love." She responded glumly.
******************
They arrived together in a black Aston Martin coupe, and Zach came round to offer a hand to Haleigh as she got out. She took his hand in hers and stepped out of the passenger side of the sports car, cradling two bouquets of white roses in her other hand....no doubt everyone would assume one was from Zach and one from Haleigh.. but in truth, they were joint offerings from the both of them-- one for Sharon... and one secretly for Morgan.
Haleigh saw the others at the top of the stairs... Alycia was trying to avoid the reporters and th other women were greeting each other. Alycia suggested they all go in, and they began to... but the reporters were still fighting for a scoop. Zach helped Haleigh part through the throng of flashing cameras. She looked round, satisfied to see some of her men posted around. Two of them stood guard at the entrance and were preventing the reporters from making the interior of the church a circus as well. Haleigh and Zach stopped as they reached the doors, and turned around to face the small mob. Her expression was bland, devoid of any real emotion, a polite smile fixed on her lips as though it were a part of the makeup she'd applied this morning. Her composure like an inpenetrable stone wall. The crowd began to quiet... they recognized Haleigh, but none seemed to want anyone's statement except Alycia's, and they all collectively seemed to wonder why Haleigh was about to address them. Her voice was quiet and commanding, steady, firm and heard above everything else going on.
"On behalf of Senator Sharon Kelly and those friends and family members she left behind, I want to thank you all for coming here to cover her funeral. Unfortunately, the service is about to begin and only those invited are welcome inside the church. I trust you can all find your way to your car... if not, I'm sure these gentlemen here will help escort you." She said sternly, gesturing to a small assembly of four of her men, who all looked the Navy SEAL part. She pivoted on her heel and spoke inaudibly to one of the men guarding the double doors. As her and Zach walked through the threshold, the two guards closed the church's double doors, shutting the reporters completely out of the ceremony.
"Are you armed?" Haleigh whispered to Zach, who promptly shook his head. Haleigh discreetly equipped him with a concealed sidearm in a holster on his hip. "You never know... with some of these people." She continued quietly, as her and Zach approached where the rest of the gang were.

<< as Delilah, Alison, Dr. Victoria and Alycia began to enter the church itself, they turned back to see Haleigh and Zach not to far behind them. Much to their surprise, Haleigh addressed the throng of reporters but she did so in a manner that acknowledged them and asked them to respect the situation and with that...the entrance to the church was now sealed off.....or so it seemed. There would be one last arrival who would not be denied entry.>>
<<at the moment, Haleigh and Zach managed to join the other women...because of Alycia, they gained special seating toward the front. Seated all together in a row...a beautiful yet haunting selection was played on the massive pipe organ which seem to blend in with the decorum of the massive, barrel vaulted cathedral. one voice could be heard singing in concert with the organ's melody. those in attendance of the funeral remained quiet for the most part, reading the beautifull programme celebrating the life of Sharon that was given out or looking ahead at the beautiful memorial over looking a coffin with an american flag drapped over it. U.S. Marines stood on either side of the coffin wearing their ceremony uniform garb.>>

::in a cold, haunting voice::
I'm here to pay my respects to Senator Kelly, kindly let me pass.

you WILL let me pass
::an white halo formed around the heads of the guards...as they eyes rolled and turned solid white with no visible pupils or irises. they immediately complied with an almost drone like response...and let the woman pass. as she passed by, the halos flickered off...and left the men with massive headaches as they wondered what happened and where the woman had gone.::
::for her part...the woman laughed softly as she strode into the church...her high heels clicking on the mosaic stone floors and causing some people to turn around and behold this stunning woman dressed in all white. she kept walking...till finding ALEXIS QUATERMAINE..and she began to slid into the row of that pew, seating herself easily next to the young meta human. Alexis couldnt help but take notice of this well put together woman who dripped with confidence and the sexiness of woman in her prime::

With the others now arrived, the service could begin. Blaze still kept herself in the back row for a reason. If anything she was denying this whole turn of events. Her green eyes filled with a few tears but she blinked them back. It was a beautiful service for Sharon Kelly, especially with the vast arrangements of flowers and other bouquets.
A commanding feminine voice broke through her attention. Tilting her head to the side to anchor her ear to listen more accurately. With the doors closed, it was difficult for anyone to pass. Light began to pour into the church with the large doors opening to reveal a statuesque blonde. Turning her neck, her eyes tracing the blonde, noticing the extra step in confidence and her all white attire. Perking a brow, Blaze shook her head with amusement.
There always had to be one person fashionable late, this mysterious woman was it. But as Blaze studied her more, she frowned at the section the woman sat. She was almost silently praying the blonde struck Alexis in the jaw.
The mutant herself began to fidget in her seat. Running a hand through her wavy chocolate locks. Nibbling on her lower lip, Morgan's scream sending chills coursing through her body. Shutting her eyes, Blaze tried to compose herself. She didn't want to draw attention to herself by suddenly leaving the church.
The Elder's voice rolling inside her head, You cannot interfere. Bounding to her feet, Blaze side stepped a few people. Walking firmly toward the exit, she stepped out of the door. Her heart beat rising to new dangerous levels. Haleigh's men studying her carefully.
Reaching inside her suit pocket for her pack of cigarette's. Placing one inside her mouth she grabbed her purple lighter. Flicking it on with clouds of smoke surrounding the mutant. Walking off to the side walk, blowing a few inches of smoke from her glossy lips.
Caressing her pendent Morgan gave her for Christmas, Blaze quietly waited for the service to conclude.

:: Allowing her eyes to scan over the program distributed among the guests at the funeral, all was quiet until the massive church doors were once again heard opening. Not bothering to turn and see who had entered, Alexis turned the program over skimming the words for anything slightly interesting. But alas, there was nothing. Letting out a heavy sigh, Alexis felt a body sit next to her which immediately grabbed her attention. ::
:: Looking to the woman in white, a single brow rose as an amused smirk appeared on the blonde's lips. White hat, white outfit, white everything...well, how attention getting. Watching as the woman turned to her and questioned if Alexis had a problem, she simply redirected her eyes forward. ::
"No, I was just....momentarily blinded by your outfit."
:: With a subtle, amused smile spread across her lips, Alexis couldn't help but get a kick out of the fact that she wasn't the only woman dressed drab and all in black. ::

<< even as the mystery woman in white sized up the young meta human...smirking at the impertinent remark made by her, the services continued on...with the priest having everyone stand to lead them in prayer and offering a solemn greeting. the services went on as guest speakers honored Sharon's memory with 2 minute remarks. the service was a beautiful tribute to Sharon's memory and as her fellow seantors and colleagues from Capitol Hill, along with Alycia stood and honored her one last time. The priest returns and finishes the services and performs the final eulogy and prayer...blessing the congregation one last time before the organ postlude. The folding of the flag on Sharon's casket was followed by presenting it to her closest friend and confidant...Alycia [since her own family had preceeded her in death] >>

Both Haleigh and Zach turned to look at the woman in white as she came in. Why had she been let in?? The thought made Haleigh's blood run cold, and she eyed to woman suspiciously and looked towards the double doors. Zach, sensing her reaction, reached for his gun.... he didn't take it, simply rested his fingers on the grip. Haleigh touched his arm softly as she turned back to the front, watching the service begin. Throughout the service, Haleigh sat still, numb. She heard the speeches in the back of her mind somewhere, but was distracted as she thought of Sharon's death. Sharon had been a good, strong woman, who hadn't deserved to die. Even to the end, she was brave and selfless. Like Morgan. Despite the fact that today's funeral was for Sharon, as Haleigh reflected on Sharon's death her thoughts lead inevitably back to the events of that tragic night, and she lingered on Morgan's final moments. Like Blaze, and Alison, Haleigh's mind was overtaken with the loss of Morgan. The look of terror on her face as her fingertips slipped from Haleigh's. Her voice sounded in Haleigh's head. Her final scream... I'm so sorry Morg. Zach, sensing Haleigh's internal battle with guilt and grief, took her hand in his and gave a gentle squeeze. The sound of Blaze trying to quietly leave the cathedral tore Haleigh from her selfloathing.
The service ended, and Hal was one of the first to make it out of the catherdral. she pressed through the slow moving crowd, Zach in tow, fighting to escape the suffocating feeling of the huge cathedral. She found Blaze standing on the sidewalk and came to a stop beside her. Haleigh didn't look Blaze over... she didn't have to. She knew what Blaze was feeling without asking. Instead, in a quiet voice, she reached out, offering a hand as well.
"Come on, I have something to show you."

<< Karen had watched the service unfold with solemn silence. she grieved in her mind for Sharon and in her heart for Morgan. These women were strong in their unique ways. Sharon's courage.....trying to help Morgan even in the face of Master Mold.... it was something that went BEYOND what any of her male colleagues in capitol hill would do. She would forever hold a special place in her memory for Sharon and she would make sure that Sharon's legacy of fighting for equal rights for ALL...mutant, metahuman and human would not be forgotten.....was she mulling the possibility of running for Sharon's senate seat??>>
<< it was too soon to know just what she was feeling for certain. all she knew was that Morgan and Senator Kelly were gone and this service was confirmation. she shed tears silently from underneath her dark sunglasses. as the service came to a close...she followed the procession out of the cathedral. walking with Alison as they arrived outside..she too felt the wind....her hat and veil moved a bit but held fast as she looked around...thankfull that her sunglasses hid her weary , tear strained eyes.>>
<< as Alison, Karen, Alycia, Delilah were eventually joined by Alexis, Karen turned as Alison pointed out the woman in white.>>
<< Karen's eyes widened ever so slightly. something about that woman seemed SO FAMILIAR to her. her body, her poise....and even with those white rimmed, black framed sunglasses.....something reached out to Karen...a familiarity... a sensation from the past.....>>
That woman....I....i feel that i KNOW her.....
<< a bell toll unexpectedly started Karen as her gaze focused on that woman in white...and soon, as a stream of mourners came between their group and the woman's group....there was no more visual of that group. They were gone when the mourners had cleared.>>
<< even as Alexis had shrugged it off as nothing, Karen FELT that it was something...that WOMAN...she was not just a "woman in white"....she was someone seemed to figure into Karen's memory somehow....but before further explanation could be made, it was time to leave. Alison assured Karen that it was probably just de ja vu....and with the escalade pulling up, Karen, Alison and Alycia would be heading back to Illustra.>>

Blankets of smoke filtered around the fiery mutant who savored the nicotine that was administered into her lungs. Her small height of 5'7 still standing beside one of the bus benches where one of the Grey Hound passed by everyday picking up travelers. She was of course deep in thought over Sharon and Morgan.
The enigma struggled with the strain of emotions coursing through her darkened soul. Tipping her head to the sky. Glaring at the overcast gloom of the day but more so she knew who were most likely watching her, the Elders. Her dark sunglasses concealing the hardened look released from her green eyes.
Taking one last drag of the cigarette she spun around to tuck it in one of the wooden round barrels filled with sand. Movement from the corner of her eye caused her to look over at the old Cathedral. Tucking her right hand inside her suit pocket, her eyes danced along the various group who departed the church.
Walking closer to the church Blaze stopped short to notice Haleigh walking towards her. Fox could spot Haleigh out of any crowd, her blonde locks and her military stride was unmistakable. Patiently waiting for the woman to approach her, what did she want? Blaze didn't mind Haleigh's company at all, in fact she relished it. The two were very similar in military tactics.
"Hi Hales..." She greeted gently, but she was stunned to feel Haleigh's small hand slip into her own. Her hand giving a squeeze of support to Haleigh. Her fingertip brushing against the diamond ring secured on her lithe finger.
Looking down, Blaze smiled. "You've been holding out on me, Hales. Congratulations, babe." Pulling Haleigh into a sisterly hug, "he's a good man, and not a bad looker either." She winked only to straighten up.
Releasing Haleigh from the gentle hug, she nodded, "okay, show me." Her head tilted to the side in curiosity.

:: Finally arriving back at Illustra after the long memorial service, Alexis opened the door to her penthouse and let out an exasperated sigh. ::
"If I have to attend one more funeral, I’m going to have to kill myself."
:: Closing the front door with the heal of her stilettos, Alexis made her way across the foyer and straight into the kitchen. Tossing her clutch purse onto the island as she passed it, the blonde opened the fridge and took out a small bottle of Evian. Opening it, she took a long leisurely sip before craning her tense neck back and removing her black hat. Placing the hat next to her purse, Alexis ran her fingers through her blonde locks as she slowly slunk into her livingroom and over to the floor to ceiling windows. Looking out over the city, the blonde crossed her arms along her chest and gently swirled the water within the small bottle absentmindedly. Her thoughts wondered to the woman in white...she didn't give much thought to her when she had sat next to Alexis during the service. But after Alison had pointed out that she seemed to know Alexis, it did strike her as strange. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she did seem familiar...something about her ora. ::

Haleigh smiled softly, embracing Blaze. Speaking in her ear as she watched the others gather on the church steps....
"It happened last night... yes... He's a wonderful man. I think I'll keep him." She responded with endearment. At the acceptance of her suggestion, Haleigh lead blaze to the car. Once they'd all gotten in, however, Haleigh and Blaze were transported somewhere else instantly.
*************
Blaze would recognize the house from the night they'd gone 'sailing'.... It was Haleigh's east hamptons residence.
But they weren't there to take refuge in the palatial home... they were standing out in her garden, an elaborate maze of landscaping, that included weeping willow trees, wildly growing japanese honeysuckle and pink oleander in droves. They were both facing a small grassy clearing framed by breathtaking deep purple orchids. The sight of the monuments in the center was riveting. Large, three foot tall stone crosses, six of them, all in a line and adorned with flowers. Three of them had Navy dogtags slung around the tops. Blaze would recognize the names on the last two. One was hers...
The other looked as though it had been erected very recently. Soil around the base was still freshly disturbed. The name engraved on the stone would cause a cold hand to settle on Blaze's spine. Morgan Victoria. Beneath the name, a single resounding word, in all capital letters. HERO.
"These are tributes... to the people I have loved and lost over the years... to those I was.... unable to save." Haleigh moved closer to Blaze's side, her voice laced with pain but also with a surprising resolve of strength and wisdom. "That pain you're feeling, that anger and regret for not being able to help her... I know that feeling. I'm more intimate with it than you could ever imagine. But there's something I've come to realize... it doesn't help lessen the pain, or lift the grief. It doesn't even really help dissipate the feelings of guilt... but it DOES help to make sense of it all. When Destiny takes us in her iron grip.... its something NONE can stall. Everything will happen WHEN its supposed to, exactly AS its supposed to. What happened to Morgan was tragic... but it was something that nobody could prevent, though try we might. I couldn't save Morgan because she wasn't to be saved... and you couldn't help because you weren't SUPPOSED to."
Haleigh paused, as she stared mournfully at Morgan's 'grave'. She slipped her hand once more into Blaze's, resting her head on the woman's shoulder. If it hadnt been clear before, it was now: Haleigh had grown in the last few months, changed. She was closer to the person she was six years ago... before she'd been first captured by Mystech. She was caring and supportive, open. The woman who'd joined the Navy to fight for her country and her beliefs.... the monster within her blighted heart seemed to have been quelled gradually, and it had left behind an old, heavy soul that contradicted her young face.
"Morgan.... was so devastated after the inferno. She NEVER forgave herself for what she'd done. She was harder on herself than any of us could ever be.... She was hard on me too... but I don't blame her. I should have been the one to die that night.... and I bear so MUCH responsibility for that night too. but eventually, ironically, she found it EASIER to forgive ME for my part in your death, and for everything I'd done... than to forgive herself for losing control. Her actions, during the fight with Master Mold... that was her way of righting a wrong.... the one she did you, and the terror she put the rest of us through. We never asked that of her... it came from her heart. She was so selfless. She didn't want to die... she just stepped up when we needed her help... and she gave it HELL... for the people she loved. It was the reason I always admired her... even when I hated her."

[ Delilah pulled her car into the parking lot behind police headquarters. She was so preoccupied with the earlier events that she nearly ran right into the barricade. The uniform working the lot gave her an odd look, but she was unconcerned with reprimanding him at this time. She thought about the rude woman in white - disrupting such a solemn occasion - and Alexis' odd behavior (though she wasn't really surprised). She was worried about Blaze - she had seen her leave in the middle of the service. Being so emotional was DEFINITELY not normal Blaze. She would have to be sure to speak to her when she got back to Illustra, but she trusted that Haleigh would take good care of her until then. Right now she had to find out what she could about the Master Mold investigation.
She parked and ran up the red brick steps to the large office building that was the center of the New York police force. Stepping out of the elevator she motioned for the assistant to her section to come into her office. She asked her to get her a copy of the Master Mold case file. After several minutes had passed, the assistant returned and Delilah opened it to find the name of the detective in charge of the case.
She took the file with her as she exited and went in search of some answers. ]

::back at Illustra, Alycia was resting for a while in the lounge connected to her satellite office on Illustra's 90th floor. The office was state of the art...customized for Alycia's preferences per Morgan's order. She always felt "safe" and "on top of the world" in Illustra...this technological gem of New York that was not only the fashion pulse of the east coast but secret home of The Six.::
::Sharon's funeral had went smoothly and without incident. Alycia was finally able to honor her friend one last time and help lay her to rest. Sharon's legacy and memory would never be forgotten, but all of this, everything that had lead up to this moment had helped Alycia make her mind up. She had submitted her letter of resignation to the D.A.'s office and it was RELUCTANTLY accepted. Alycia would be retiring early and becoming a private citizen.::
:: the descision put her mind to rest about many things, for she had been a woman at the front lines of legal battles both in the criminal world and the corporate world. she had made herself a reputation as a blood thirsty, brutally efficient attourney and information gatherer. she had also made alot of enemies and while she had never been intimidated or backed down, she was suddenly all too aware of her own mortality. Her best friend was gone...struck down in the most impossible way while being as brave as she had ever been.::
Sharon......I miss you already.
:: Alycia sighed softly as she continued to lay on the double sized chaise lounge. she rested her hand on her forehead . all was calm and quiet in her office, which was high above the hubbub of the business floors of Illustra and just a few floors BENEATH the private residences of The Six...she'd been in Morgan and Alison's penthouses before.::
::knowing what she was going to do was the first step. Letting the Six know that she was retiring and leaving the public eye (in more than one way) was the next...but all of that would happen AFTER the reading and executing of Morgan's will. there was still time.::

<< a soft chime is heard as the elevator doors open up on the top floor of Illustra. Doctor Karen Victoria steps forward. still wearing her black suit, sunglasses and circular rimmed hat w/veil. she hadnt said much since arriving back to Illustra but when Alison and Alycia went to tend to some personal business, she used the opportunity to slip away>>
<< she looked down the long, high ceiling hall ..there was a small alcove off to the side midway..but clearly this floor was as private as it was silent. it had never seemed so long and gloomy before....BEFORE Morgan's death.>>
<< Karen breathed deeply as she began to walk. her high heels echoing as they hit the floor with each stride. finally reaching the large double doors, she exhales slowly, before entering. Being Morgan's mother...she knew that her genetic signature and magicks would gain her access to the penthouse. upon entering...she saw the sprawling expanse of the penthouse....>>
Oh.....
<< Karen had been here before....but it was never like this...so quiet, so empty feeling. she looked around slowly at the decor and pictures. Morgan was a woman of style and taste but she also appreciated cozy comfort and some how she managed to merge the two. walking along...she just took in the feeling of feel a little more connected to her daughter. this was helping her to face things.>>
<< Tinkerbell peeked up from the sectional in the sitting room and mewed ..catching Karen's attention. the smaller kitten that Haleigh had given Morgan was there also, looking sleepy.>>
two babies!
<< Karen smiled as she went over and sat down next to them. not worried that their fur might get on her suit>>
hi little ones. Delilah's been taking care of you...but you miss your mommy dont you?
<< tink and the kitten were both mewing now...wanting attention as they rubbed against karen and nudged her.>>
yes...will THIS mommy misses her little girl too.
<<petting the cats a bit and comforting them, Karen takes a moment remove her hat w/veil to reveal her sleek bun styled blonde hair. looking around for a moment, Karen waves her hand and with a harp sound some fresh catnip appears. she divides it equally among tinkerbell and the kitten>>
here you go babies.
<< Karen smiled as she watched the cats enjoy their little treat. she got up and began to walk around again...just looking, exploring maybe. taking time to see more of her daughter's space and what she was about. she eventually went into the kitchen..looking around. not a dish in the sink, Morgan liked to give the impression she never ate much but Karen knew better. she laughed softly as she looked in the refrigerator...nothing but organic foods and the best bottled water.>>
I remember when i whipped up breakfast for the whole team...right after Blaze had died in the inferno. though i didnt want to be bothered with cooking it by hand so i used my magick. I can only imagine where my daughter got THAT habit from.
<images from past times spent here with her daughter...all the dinners, breakfasts and other gatherings flashed through her mind and as she looked out into the dining room...her mind's eye replayed some of the most memorable moments. she could hear the voices, see the people...the sounds everything. it comforted this too helped her>>
<<she moved through the penthouse, looking at the hearth of the fireplace where Morgan's many fashion awards were tastefully displayed as well as pictures of Morgan with her celebrity friends/photo ops. there was even a picture of Morgan, her mother and Cher together in a frame.>>
"Do you believe?" << Karen sang softly>>
<< eventually Karen found her way into Morgan's Chamber of Dreams. it was such a large room, with a lead off into the master bathroom. there was the scent of exquisite vanilla, morgan's favorite scent in the air. soft chimes played....it reminded Karen of Morgan's energy signature when she teleported. she moved slowly now....much like Delilah had the night she came here. The bed was partially made, with a few pieces of clothing laid out ...possibly items Morgan would have worn the next day after that fatefull friday night. on the nightstand near her bed were a few pictures. one featuring Morgan, Alison and Blaze and two more...one featuring Karen and Christopher from years ago and a very young Morgan Victoria in the arms of both parents. they all looked so HAPPY together...this was of course before MysTech. there was one final picture...in a special pewter heart shaped frame...that of a young Karen holding a beautiful baby girl....it was Morgan. >>
<< Karen picked up the pictures of Karen, Christopher and Morgan along with the one of Karen and baby Morgan. this was her family..this was her life at some of their best moments....and now both Morgan and Christopher were DEAD...taken violently from her by MysTech........>>
My whole family....gone. My baby, Morgan, you went through SO MUCH after your father left us...you tried to be brave, to be strong, you became a success in the fashion industry, you joined valiant to try to help others...you joined with your friends in the Six to protect the city..the world from MysTech....
<< Karen began to tremble as tears began to flow. she clutched the picture of herself holding a baby Morgan. holding it to her chest...near her heart>>
No mother....<<trying not to break down....>>....wants to outlive her child.....
Oh Morgan!!!!

<< Karen looked up at the ceiling..still holding that picture as the other one was set on the bed. she bent over while sitting...drawn up as she begin to weep...no longer being able to fight the feeling of loss and guilt. the pain of her daughter being gone....truly gone.....>>
<< the a cool breeze flowed in from the slightly open glass doors that led out to the balcony from the chamber of dreams...and as the chimes played softly, only karen's anguish could be heard througout the expanse of the penthouse.>>

Haleigh's positive news of engagement did brighten the gloomy day and the sadness Blaze felt. It was egregious Haleigh had depicted her body language and her struggle with Morgan's death. Unlike, Alexis, who was detached and aloof, Blaze was beginning to rely more on her friends for support, especially Delilah and now Haleigh. Both ladies were like a second sister to her, both strong in their own element.
Leaning back she turned at the waist to walk along with Haleigh. Her hand its usual warm temperature. The two strolled off to the car that was parked a few feet away. Walking to the passenger side, the mutant climbed in. Her curiosity had peaked immensely. Where was Haleigh taking her?
It wouldn't register until they arrived at Haleigh's place. Blaze had been here before when the two were getting some rest and relaxation. This vast island that Haleigh owned was gorgeous blossoming with warmth and care. Climbing out of the car, a genuine smile lifting at the corner of her lips.
"Still as I remember it, beautiful."
The fragrant air of flowers blew in the soft wind. The house itself was private and nicely landscaped, but not a neighbor in sight. Following the blonde deeper into the labyrinth of her garden.
She looked up seeing the six crosses adorned with flowers and dog tags. Her heart nearly stopped at the sight of her own. It was Blaze's number, it was still burned inside her memory. Stepping up to it she placed her hand along the stone. "Its beautiful Hales...I never...thought you.." She bit on her bottom lip, not being able to find the words.
It floored her to see her own 'grave' here on Haleigh's property. Turning back to Haleigh, Blaze removed her own dark sunglasses. Registering this new set of facts. "So, I was right...you always had a heart and you do love."
A chill in the air sent shivers down her back with the hand that ran along her spine. Directing her eyes to Morgan's stone. Reading the word "HERO" she felt her body fall prey to the monument. Her eyes filling up with tears but she blinked them back.
No, Haleigh was trying to break her down! She needed to be angry, dark, and vengeful. This weakness she carried wasn't her style. Something called Blaze to Morgan's cross, stepping closer. Out of thin air, Blaze's body shook more violently. She was skirmishing the urge to cry.
"No!" She said harshly, her vision blurry again until one slow tear peaked from the corner of her eye. Her facial expression twisted into that darkened eerie look. Hatred burning through her skin, but the need to grief easily overpowered it. Clenching her fists, Blaze bowed her head. The sound of fabric ripping tore through the air as Blaze's suite stretched to accommodate her dark feathered wings. They sprang free in the blink of an eye as Blaze threw her head back.
"MORGAN!!!!!"
Her lungs bellowing out in a tone that could only be described as unsettling. Her chest heaved with her adrenaline but she settled at Haleigh's present. "Haleigh..." She began to sob, her face returning to its normal shape. Her hand squeezing Haleigh's with more strength then she intended, not on purpose to harm Hales.
"She's gone...I ...I...she's gone! I can't let it go...it HURTS!" She stared up at the grave as Blaze's tears bled to a more crimson tint that stained her tanned cheeks with red trails.
Releasing Haleigh's hand, Blaze wrapped her arm tightly around her friend's waist with the blonde resting her head on her shoulder. Both staring at her sister's grave. The mutant sniffling every five seconds. "I want to kill, Haleigh...they allowed this..." She looked up at the sky, "they murdered my sister! And they are the ones who TOOK her from us!"
Her feathered wings twitched behind Haleigh. "I'm...not ready to forget or even forgive, IF that's possible." Turning to face Haleigh, face to face. Her green eyes red with the tears she leaked. "You...have a new start...you've come a long way. Your able to find love, and now you can cherish it. But I will not REST until I see those bastards killed. I'm going to KILL THEM ALL!!!" Her vengeance burning brightly in her eyes, and even Haleigh could see that Morgan and Blaze shared that same blood lust.
"They will pay, fuck destiny! And fuck fate!" Wiping her fallen tears, she studied Haleigh's expression. "This is beautiful....to honor myself and my sister like this. It does mean a lot to me but my heart aches for their heads. If I can kill one, I can kill more and your going to help me, Haleigh! And if you won't do it, I'll find others who will....even if it means traveling to the underworld." Stepping closer, the wind blowing her hair creating an almost Medusa look. "I have to see they pay....nobody takes my sister and lives to tell! I know Morgan would turn the world upside down for me in the same situation. Its simple...the elders will die! It won't bring Morgan back but it will satisfy my lust for vengeance."
Walking over to the grave she placed her hand to it, "This is the only time I ask this favor of you Haleigh....I need this..." She paused, "All I think about is them and how they held me BACK from teleporting to my sister's aide. Help me Haleigh, please."

Haleigh wrapped her arms around Blaze's midsection, standing beside her. If Blaze's transformation affected Haleigh, it didn't show. Instead, Haleigh's demeanor radiated melancholy stillness, as she stared at Morgan's name.
"I can't let you do that, Blaze." Haleigh said softly, but with an authority that surprised even herself. "I would do ANYTHING in the world for you... but I can't let you self destruct like I did."
Haleigh let Blaze go, watching her place her hand gently on the stone cross. Haleigh knelt at the base of the grave, lifting a drooping flower back into place.
"Remember when I took you to Switzerland? And I killed that man in the mountains?" Haleigh asked, searching Blaze's face for recognition. When she found it, she moved on. "That was the man most directly responsible for what happened to me and my team.. on our final mission.... the orders he gave me... when I lead THOSE three brave men [pointing to the first three crosses] to slaughter. I murdered so MANY people to get to him... and I thought.... that when I finally got him... I would be able to sleep again. But as I watched the life drain from him... I realized that my VENGEANCE was insatiable.... I spent five grueling, torturous YEARS trying to rectify the wrong I felt we'd been done... and it all culminated in his death. and then there was nothing. The pain was still there... and the guilt....and they were all still dead... and I felt empty. NOTHING had changed. Not even I changed... not until I died and lost you..."
Haleigh moved to Blaze now, taking her face in both of her hands, wiping Blaze's tears from her cheeks with the pads of her thumbs. They locked eyes, and Haleigh's irises betrayed such emotion that it was impossible to ignore. She was holding nothing back, and gave the feeling that she was desperately trying to save Blaze from a terrible fate... trying to repay Morgan for failing to save HER by saving her sister instead.
"It's OKAY to be angry, Blaze. but you cant let it CONSUME you. It will only cause you pain. How would Morgan feel about you doing this? Killing the Elders? It'll cause UTTER chaos... not to mention tip the balance of good and evil uncontrollably in the WRONG direction. NO, Morgan wouldn't go on a SUICIDE mission that would only help EVIL. NO... the Elders didn't. MYSTECH TOOK MORGAN FROM US. The Elders knew it was going to happen... they also knew what would result from her death... and they looked at the BIGGER picture... and they made a decision for the greater good. But you also have to remember.... Morgan wasn't gunned down like a rabid dog, either... she CHOSE to engage Master Mold.... she CHOSE to put her life on the line to save Alison and the rest of us."

Fire, one of the most destructive elements created on earth. Yet easily the most devastating of them. It never really was extinguished, it continued its course. Blaze knew that as its wielder. Her emotions were a large factor in the manipulation of her powers.
Sighing loudly she looked down enrolling Haleigh's words. Her eyes locked onto the blondes with her hands physically caressing Blaze's cheek bones. Haleigh could feel the fire that burned through the woman's body. Just waiting to spread in an inferno. As enraged as she was Haleigh's words were heart felt.
"You have a point." She spoke, more calm. "Like I told D, I..don't know exactly how to cope. I could only imagine what Morgan felt at my death." Moving her hands out to rest on Haleigh's slim waist. "Morgan...wouldn't want this for me..you are right. She'd kick my ass for even thinking it. I've never felt so full of fire before like I'm going to erupt like a volcano."
Tilting her head to the side, weighing in her options silently. "I'll back down...it would create chaos and its not worth it. I suppose I can make do with one murdered elder." Those emerald eyes full of spark.
"You think more clearly than I (Deja déjà vu right Lexi? lol ;) ) and its because of you that I'm kept grounded. Grounded from doing unspeakable acts."
Positing her hands up Haleigh's back to pull her into a gentle hug. Her eyes absorbing the facts. Morgan was gone and nothing could bring her back. Her cool breath whispering into Haleigh's ear, "thank you, Hales." Her chin resting on the blonde's shoulder. "I owe you one.."

:: Manhattan's upper east side. an elegant and regal brick building that has been in existence for over 100 years and has managed to remain strong and blend in with the ever changing surroundings. This is the headquaters of the White Queen, Malice, herself. Once upon a time this WAS the headquaters for the entire Inner Circle of MysTech...the commanding elite that held sway over everything from the technological and biological operations to the occult operations of this massive company. Operating under the guise of an elite social club with a long reaching and reputable reputation, The Inner Circle were responsible for MysTech gaining multiple foot holds in government, the corporate and medical industry and more. The Hellfire club's building itself is a testemant to state of the art anti personell defense systems. Psychic power scramblers, windows and doors insulated against energy blasts, white noise/black light generators and many other defenses were well concealed in this buildings many levels. the decor of the building was splending victorian in design.::
::With Doctors Christopher Victory and Adam Chandler dead, as well as Kelly King and most recently Helena Quartermaine, Malice was now the last member left of the inner circle but certainly not at a disadvantage. She watched as The Six scored crucial victories: The Citadle, the destruction of Kelly King and her book of spells; Helena Quartermaine and the Wildpack, NERVOUS, Commander Rick Riley and The Cell, and most recently Master Mold. The Six had come as prophesied, and survived the grow pains of joining together as a team. They'd become the one force that MysTech couldnt effectively contain or outright destroy...though it was not without trying. They had allies among humans, powerfull allies such as Senator Sharon Kelly ,District Attourney Alycia Barnett and even the subtle support fron the N.Y.P.D courtesy of the newest fulltime member of the six, Morningstar. there were considerable resources from the realm of the occult from allies like Doctor Karen Victoria and Ororo, whose existence they had not been able to confirm as yet..given her otherworldly status...but that may soon change. The bottom line..was that this team had become all that was foretold and even with the departure of some members, and the LOSS of others...the team managed to continue do what they had to do. the time for their triumph was at an end as far as MALICE was concerned.::
:: Even with the tide turning against MysTech, there were some key losses taken by the Six lately. Prophet and Bane, two powerfull members of the team had gone missing; Senator Sharon Kelly died at the hands of the omega sentinel Master Mold; Spellbinder died protecting her team and the city from Master Mold as well. The team was shifting..trying to cope emotionally and spiritually as well as adjust in reality to the loss of one of their most powerfull members and a key ally in the american government. Though they would put up a brave front and go through the changes as best they could..the team was hurting and it showed clearly to Malice, who was all about exploiting the suffering of others::
::in a large, circular room of extreme technological design, a woman, clothed in a White Versace backless halter style vest with low cut V neck along with Versace white slacks that contoured at the hips and slightly flared at legs. around her waist, a platinum low slung chain link belt. she wore white silver heeled stillettos by Escada. Her sleek blonde hair was down resting just at her shoulders, bone straight with bangs in the front...a simple look but no less elegant.::
::one LARGE liquid crystal screen displayed the most up to date information on the powers and skills of each member of the six as well as their status. while smaller screens around the large one formed a square perimeter. the smaller screens provided information on the most notable allies of the team...including LIMITED information about the sightings/"apperaences" of Ororo at the Citadle and during the Inferno..although it was speculated she was a "relative" of the X-man Storm, they had no way to know that this WAS Storm...from another time and reality OR what her true nature was.::
::information was coming in from all over the globe into various computers and screens in this room. information on stats and stocks of MysTech holdings, progress on various projects and experiments world wide, news feeds on the scrutiny that mystech was facing. while across the room, agents of the NEWLY REVIVED WILDpack stood guard by the door on either side. Armed to the teeth, these men were now just as trained and combat savvy as those from Clandestine Inc. Malice invested millions in a tremendous restructuring and overhaul of this group following its decimation by Spellbinder in which 90 percent of its forces were sent to Limbo to face death by the techno organic demons::
:: Malice was sitting at a large rounded desk, outfited with the latest in office equipment and accessories...she could do nearly anything she needed or wanted to. turning in her chair, she smirked::
That team is down, both in their minds and in their numbers. They will try to put a brave face on and forge ahead, especially with Guardian and Black Widow now co leading. Their strength has always been in the fact that pulled TOGETHER when times were most difficult. No matter what the situation and unlike my fallen colleagues, I am not going to simply try to destroy them...I will get them were it HURTS...their "team spirit".
::looking at the now split screen...images of Morgan and Alexis were side by side::
THESE two were among those most effected by their familial ties to MysTech. But Alexis was DESTINED to serve MysTech from birth. She's escaped her destiny for far too long and been responsible for some HEAVY damage to MysTech over this last year. It's time for my little runaway flashbulb to HEED THE CALL and PAY UP.
:: turning to a WILDpack agent who stood on the out edge of the circumference of her desk in this darkened room, Malice spoke::
Assemble a small troupe and prepare to deploy. It's time we tested our little target to see just what she's capable of...both in mind AND body. With the rest of the team still mourning Spellbinder and Sharon Kelly, they won't notice Alexis' absence right now.....it will give us plenty of time to shake her up and leave her with the knowledge that she's NEVER going to be rid of the legacy of her aunt Helena or even her "Father" Adam. The time has come to CALL HER OUT.
<<smirking as the screens began to flicker off one by one, Malice grabs a Versace white trench coat that tops off her outfit. She will personally "introduce" herself to Alexis. an Introduction that may proove to be ALEXIS' farewell....for the person who isolates themself from their team as Alexis has been doing...is almost ALWAYS asking to be made the newest VICTIM.>>
