var storyText="For seven seasons, the Halliwell sisters have charmed the pants off audiences with their wonderful Wiccan ways. But unless you\'ve TiVoed the show\'s occasional TNT rerun or have every bewitching moment of this crafty cult classic memorized, you may have forgotten just how the Power of Three came to be. For example, do you remember the mysterious Siamese cat that once protected the Halliwell household? Or Leo\'s undercover occupation before he revealed to Prue, Piper, and Phoebe that he was aWhite-lighter? (He was a handyman, for those who started tuning in during season 2.) Magically delicious the 1st, 3rd, and even 20th time around, the first season of this supernatural Spelling series remainsspellbinding thanks to its proper balance of quirky humor, Buffy-esquedrama, and, naturally, the now dearly departed Prue (Shannen Doherty). Thoughthe DVD contains no EXTRAS, die-hard and not-so-die-hard fans will stillbe charmed, I\'m sure.

Yeah, I will definitely be buying.. I liked the show better when it was LESS all their magical powers and more about being sisters working together as witches.. Though I am going to hate watching Shannen squint her eyes every five seconds lol...

I'm kind of upset that they didn't include any special features in the DVD set :( I was looking forward to some. I thought they would at least include that unaired pilot episode where Lori Romm (sp?) was Phoebe instead of Alyssa...

Two DVDs in and I realize just how much I've missed Prue. The show is just no where near as good without her. It's depressing...although the obssesive amounts of junkfood we consumed could have helped with that. LOL

Seriously this DVD set is way over due. I'm wondering if they had problems because of Shannen being all uptight about using her image for the longest time. I'm wondering if that's part of the reason for the lack of special features too. I don't know, just thinking out loud...or on screen.

as for the delay in the dvd release..thats exactly what it was. Shannen owns five percent of the show and was unwilling to allow her image to be used. thats why in flash back episodes of the last three seasons....anything involving Prue had to use a "body double" or have an awkward shot and why the dvd wasnt released sooner.

she just recently agreed to allow her image to be used.

Without Prue...the show just lacks all the way around. and this DVD set will remind everyone of that.

I completely agree. The show hasn't been the same since Prue died. I like Paige and all but it will never have the magic it once did.

I love Shannen as an actress but sometimes I wish she wasn't such a bitch. I think we all lose out when she doesn't just suck it up. I glad she finally decided to be kool again.

Dan! I wish they would have had the Pilot Episode with Lori Rom too.. I thought she was hideous looking, but I wanted to see her acting abilities.

OH Well.. I will enjoy this DVD thoroughly!

I've seen it.... trust me Alyssa Milano is definately the better actress ;)

I disagree on that . From owhat i saw (and i saw the original unaired pilot too) there is a DIFFERENCE as to how each actress played "Phoebe" to be sure.....Lori Rom played her more as a "tom boyish", street smart young woman who was quick to mouth off to Prue where as Alyssa gave her a more "sex kitten" persona. she TRIED to seem tough but it was obvious she was more "babe" than "tomboy".

It's about time that the Charmed DVDs finally came out! I was a hardcore fan back when the show first aired, but have since stopped watching. I actually have no need to buy the DVDs since I used to tape every single episode (except for the very first one. I'm still mad about that!) and have the complete first and second seasons on VHS. Yup, I'm a dork

I totally agree. That's why I stopped watching. The whole premice of the show is based on the power of 3, not the power of 2 and a half. Duh. :stupid: You can't just kill off one of the sisters and expect everything to still work. Even though Shannen Doherty had her issues, I still think she was a great character on the show.

Charmed - The witches return, but not in MayPosted by Gord Lacey
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/graphics/blackpixel.gif3/15/2005
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/graphics/blackpixel.gif The rumored May release of Charmed season 2 is quickly approaching, and we've received a number of panicked emails from fans of the show asking us whether it's still coming out then. The answer is no, but don't panic, the set is coming. Apparently they couldn't get the masters ready for the previously planned May release, and they've set an August target for the next set. We're also told that Paramount is very happy with the sales of season 1, so the show isn't being delayed based on poor sales (so no need to panic).

We can probably expect the August announcement to come sometime in May. We'll keep you updated with any information we can dig up before then.
