But I saw the new version of The Fog today which I was disappointed with. I liked the old version much better. This new version seemed more complicated and not enough centered on raw acting. I was left with a "it was okay" feeling.

Crash-the oscar winning one (there was another film named "Crash" as well, Cronenberg's), don't know if I liked it or not; the film semed to be proving the cliches therefore making them the exact truths but on the otherhand by proving the cliches, it can as well being provacative.

I saw an Irish independent film called Hill 16 that was made for only 20,000 pounds. It was pretty good for a first attempt - I'll be interested to see what the director (Dermot Doyle) does next with what he learned making this one. There are some editing problems, and the director did the music himself, and it could be recut (he said he cut the original version that was 2 hours 40 minutes into the final 1 hour 40 minute version, and tried to change it from a gang film to a teen comedy, and there's sort of a mismatch).

I just saw Silent Hill. I must say, it was pretty impressive. I don't really go to the theaters to see horror's (NOT BECAUSE I'M SCARED!:worry: ) but I am so glad I chose to go see it. The last "scary" movie I saw in theaters was Pitch Black. So that is proof that I don't go to horror flicks. Anyways, it was great, just great. I highly recommend it. Oh man, the movie would have been even better, if I could hear some of it! Every seat was full because it was the first day it came out and EVERYONE was talking. I was so angry I could have flipped out and attacked somebody, but I would have to get into a fight and I don't want to do something like that... I don't want to get hit the face, that might hurt. What I thought was really unbelievable was somebody brought a BABY into the theater! This is a rated 'R' movie because of intense violence, gore, language, nudity, and other things... The baby ended up crying and had to be taken out of movie theater.
But even with all these distractions, I was able to enjoy this marvelous film.

Casanova with SIenna Miller and Heath Ledger. Very very good, VERY funny, very cute farce. I love Jeremy Irons.
Before that it was Hostel. Disappointing. THe first half was Eurotrip, the last half was just...lame. As a horror movie FREAK, lame. Not gory enough and in no way suspenseful. I felt that I could totally fast-forward through the supposedly suspenful parts, because well, they were just boring.

In the Theaters: Factory Girl
On DVD: Employee of the Month
Factory Girl was superb... the guys who play Andy Warhol bugged me, but Sienna was beautiful. It was a bit drawn out. It was a bit sexual in places (I saw this with my parents, so you understand), but in a very tasteful way. Edie's sadness was heart-wrenching and Sienna did an amazing job.
Employee of the month was slightly bland.... Jessica Simpson did so so, but at least her character in this one was more bearable then her protrayal of Daisy Duke. Dane's performance was a letdown, but because he got so much publicity... I was expecting him to be hilarious, but Andy Dick and Harland Williams pretty much stole the show. They made the movie more bearable. I really enjoyed the Ad-Libs featurette the put on the DVD.

I figured it would be good since it was from the producers of Underworld. But, I was sorely disappointed in this film. After I saw the movie I read the book but there was some stark contrasts there.
I liked the location, it sort of gave it an Underworld feel to it. But, in the book the storyline takes place in Massachusetts. I thought the lead actress was rather boring to say the least. I felt like all she did was run and pout her lip lol. I took one of my friends along and she too felt disappointed. We both agreed the acting wasn't fabulous and the plot was somewhat predictable.
Maybe I was expecting too much being an avid fan of the Underworld franchise. The soundtrack was pretty good so I can't complain there. I thought this movie would blow me out of the water but it didn't. The novel was also a disappointment that you ask yourself, 'what happened to the other characters'. Like I said the novel and movie vary from characters to storylines to endings. I expected more from this movie I was left feeling like I was missing something. Most movies I feel complete but this movie I wasn't.
As far as DVD is concerned I saw the Prestige. This movie looked awesome but I didn't find it all that appealing. I thought the Illusionist was far better in plot and acting. The Prestige is one of those movies you have to watch a second time to really get the whole film. The Illusionist had a brilliant twist in the middle of the movie, which I loved. The Prestige has a couple of turns but they seem so far fetched they're not really believable.

Theaters - Borat
DVD - Black Christmas
TV - Fast and the Furious.
Borat - I thought it was hysterical. Sacha Baron Cohen went all out in the movie, pissing off every social group you could piss off. LOL. But it was done in such a way that you just had to laugh at it. It was just so over the top, and the people were so blissfully clueless. lol. Twenty times better than Jackass for sure.
Black Christmas - Not even worth typing about. It was a joke of a 'scary' movie.
Fast and the Furious - I really like this movie. I'm actually watching it as we speak. lol. Fast cars, hot guys, action, and a semi decent plot. Great sunday night movie. :)

I LOVED this movie! Dominick was such a beefcake in this film and Letty was just crazy, "I smell skanks! You better get out of here before I leave treadmarks on your face!" "Honey, I was just talking." "Yeah, whatever!" LOL! This was my second Vin Diesel film I saw, the first being Pitch Black. I really liked the characters, but I refused to see the second or the third film.

I saw Black Christmas finally! I had it for practically a month from Netflix lol. Anyway, I know it received bad reviews so I wasn't hoping for anything great. But, I actually thought it wasn't half that bad. I mean pretty much all of the Sorority chicks were stupid (but that's a horror film for ya). I laughed so hard when Billy killed his Mom and used a cookie cutter on her back. LOL! I'm just sadistic but when he was eating "cookies" I lost it. Its Christmas time and the guy is snacking on "cookies" with milk. LMAO! I just thought it was humorous for a horror film. I thought the death scenes were repetitive and Billy's sister / daughter I didn't quite get. You would think after being stabbed in the eye you would hold some sort of hostility towards him lol. For the most part the movie entertained me, I love watching poorly done horror films.
I saw Night at the Museum today, which I thought was really cute. I liked the whole plot and the overall acting of it. I would probably buy it on DVD.
I'll be watching Deja - Vu later, I have high expectations for that film. I think it'll probably be good.

Alpha Dog: I actually didn't think it would be very good, but it actually was. And what makes it even more disturbing is the fact that it's all based on a true event that happened less than ten years ago. In all honesty, I wanted to watch it to see how horribly Justin Timberlake was, but he was really good! Anyway, overall, good movie.
The Hitcher: Not so much scary as it was suspenseful. I really enjoyed it. It's gorey at parts, if that floats you boat, but overall a really good movie. I wasn't disappointed in it. Plus, Sean Bean is in it looking damn fine all psychotic and what not. lol. And the lead 'victim' actor (whom I never heard of) is really HOT! I forget his name, but that's insentive enough to watch ladies. lol

I saw Derailed today and I gotta say I wasn't thrilled. I sat there thinking 'okay, when is this film gonna get better' I just didn't enjoy it. I won't give anything away but when 'bad things' happened I thought 'haha, karma's a bitch baby!'

Well everyone at the Toronto Film Festival that day were critics and everyone knows that critics suck and do not have the mental capacity to understand a movie that is this complex. Which is why I always refuse to listen to anything a critic has to say because they are only reviewing movies for the vast amounts of cash they recieve every time they give it a bad rating and they are stupid...especially Peter Travers of the Rolling Stone Magazine.

Its a bit gory in parts but that's to be expected. A little predictable but I enjoyed it, especially the end. The lead female role turns into a bad ass at the end, a fact I loved.
Pan's labyrinth - I didn't know this film was going to be in Spanish lol. I felt as though I was missing parts of the movie by reading. Some parts of this film were unique but in the end I was left disappointed. I expected this film to be so much more. I was surprised by one of the scenes in this film was slightly gory. I wasn't thrilled with this film though.
The Breed - I liked this film! A bit gory but hey I'm such a horror whore lol. Some parts were far fetched but overall it was unique. It reminded me of Kujo in parts as far as killer dogs lol. Not bad though plus it had Michelle Rodriguez (sp) in this, so it wasn't bad.

I've been watching movies up the ass lately lol. I've seen:
Primeval - I liked this movie a lot based on actual events in Africa involving the man - eating crocodile and the back story covered the civil war. A lot of suspense here and good acting. Most of it was believable and the CG wasn't bad either.
Blood & Chocolate - I saw this in theaters months ago. I'm a huge fan of the Underworld saga's, so I was thrilled this was from the Producers of Underworld. When I saw this film in theaters I wasn't blown away. Maybe I had high expectations, so I figured I'd rent via netflix. I still felt blah with this film. I thought the character Aidian was rather boring, they should have picked a better actor for the role. I liked Gabriel's character, it was no wonder he was Alpha of the pack. I did like the fact that although they were werewolves they morphed into actual wolves. The book and the movie are starkly different with characters, setting, and endings.
Shooter - LOVED this movie! Lots of action, betrayal, drama, and a pretty hot chick too. ;) It had a couple of good twists and Danny Glover was such a prick in this film, I loved his character lol.
Ghost Rider - Another blah film! I've never read the comics or anything so I can't compare. But, I felt like they focused too much on Johnny's past rather than the present. I would have preferred to see more of the actual villains of the film, who I liked more lol. It felt kinda sappy to me rather than the raw power of Ghost rider.
Bram Stokers' Dracula's Curse - Okay, so it was rather cheesy, unknown actors, bad acting but I liked it! I liked the characters and the plot of this film. I'm a horror buff so I'll sit through a film to watch trash lol as well as a good horror film. I LOVED the twist at the end of this film, its something I hadn't seen coming.
Breach - I expected more from this film but I was left feeling bored. Parts of the film dragged on while other portions could have been cut from the film. Not a bad movie though.
Stomp the yard - I expected more of this film too. I expected something like Step Up meets You got Served here. Not the case but there was some HOT moves in this film, especially at the end. It sort of reminded me of Drumline in bits. It was pretty good though.
The Beast of Brae Road - LMAO!!! Okay, another BAD horror film lol. This film was based on actual occurrences regarding several witness accounts in Wisconsin involving a werewolf or some hybrid wolf / bear. This film had horrible customs, effects, and the blood was cheesy lol. Nice twist at the end though lol, but that was about it.
Vampire Wars: Battle of the Universe: I actually liked this film, a few stars I recognized in this film including Sully from Dr. Quinn: Medicine woman and that chick from Elektra, I forgot her name. Oh and Michael Ironside! This was more sci-fi than horror but I liked the clash of genres plus it wasn't the typical tale of vampires. In this film they have a variety of vampire species, which vary by appearance and all. I thought the film was pretty good.

Its good captures the feeling of the show and had a lot of good moments with some nice action throw in.
Saw Die Hard 4.0 Full with action and cheesy lines. Good (but unbeliveable) scene with John Mcclane a trailer and a F-35 though :D
Finally saw Pirates Of The Caribbean: At The Worlds End.
Good visual effects, ok acting, i knew when the jokes would be cracked and what the jokes were about, every time. Johnny Depp has a certain charm as Jack Sparrow though, Geoffrey Rush, wasn't half bad either :D

Shooter: Freakin' GREAT movie. Mark Walburg was to die for...my god that man is ripped. But aside from the fact that Mr. Marky Mark was damn gorgeous, it was a great action movie. The plot was really entertaining, and the action bits were great! I was totally entertained throughout the entire film, so I recommend it. :)
Epic Movie: Very dumb. There were a few laugh out loud parts, but only a few. Not enough for me to ever watch that movie again.
Norbit: Another dumb one. The first 10 minutes were good, but then it got extremely boring. I don't know, I guess when you see one guy dressed up as a fat lady (Big Mama's House) you've seen them all. LOL. Although, I have to admit the makeup job and Eddie's performance as the Chinese man was really good. lol. Oh, and Thandie Newton needs to put on some damn weight. That girl looks like a skeleton.
The Devil Wears Prada: I saw this movie a long time ago, but it just came on HBO and i'm sooooooo excited! LOL. I absolutely ADORE this movie. It seriously is one of my favorite movies ever. Not so much because of Anne Hathaway (although she was fantastic in it, so was the rest of the cast) but because Meryl Streep was brilliant. She's been one of my favs for years, and she totally proved why in this movie. Overall a very entertaining, funny, and light hearted movie that I totally recommend to any girl (or guy who likes fashion). :) Did I mention I get to watch it all the time now because it's on HBO! And now for something completely on topic:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Awesome. Really good. As a fan of the books, I felt they stayed close [as they always do] and that they did a good job keeping the LENGTH down. A lot of people complained that the 5th book was filler, but i thought it was a decent continuation of the story and some times things just NEED to be set up for the big finish. The movie, however, didn't have that feel.... the movie felt like another wonderful chapter in the Potter saga, and I recommend it to anyone who liked any of the previous ones.... but you'd better have seen Goblet of Fire. Actually, you really need to watch them all in chronological order. Trust me.

Like Lexi, I too saw the new Harry Potter film. Although I've never read any of the books I thought the movie was well done. I loved seeing how every character / actor has matured into their late teenage years. I also liked the fact Harry had his first *real* kiss. I couldn't believe a certain person was killed, although I'm not sure if he's really dead. Good film though.
Hills Have Eyes 2 - I LOVED the remake, it was suspenseful, gruesome, and a psychological thriller for survival. I had high hopes for this movie seeing as Wes Craven and his son, Jonathan wrote this together. I was sadly disappointed. First, let's start with the Army costumes, they weren't realistic lol. The Army 'bad asses' were a joke! One chick flipped out there was a spider on her arm in one scene! LOL! If your in the Army, you're trained to be a robot. I felt like the movie was just tossed together. At least in the first film, you *felt* for the family. You knew could feel the family's anguish and misery. But these misfits were hardly hero material lol. Even the makeup wasn't gut grotesque like the first film. I was left feeling with a "Okay." By the end of the film, you know there's gonna be a third installation!
Fight Club - Please tell me WHY people rave about this film?? I found it rather boring, I actually had to force myself to watch it. Granted its dark, demented, and psychotic but what's so great? Brad Pitt is hardcore eye candy with his shirt off in the film. I saw more of his chest than his acting lol, not that I'm complaining. The guy is beautiful. I loved Edward Norton's acting, he was a crazy bastard, a favorite actor of mine. The twist at the end of the movie was cool.
Casanova - Heath Ledger was sweet in this movie. It was a romantic comedy but I liked it. Nice little tell about the all time player of the century.

Red Eye - Awesome!! I was surprised with a Wes Craven film it would be gory. Surprisingly it was not yet it was provocatively suspenseful. Cillian Murphy was great in this film, it plays villains well, at least in my opinion. Rachel McAdams was some nice eye candy lol. Yet, her character proved to be clever and tough despite such a beautiful face. Another film I'd buy on DVD.

Stardust - I really enjoyed this movie reminded me of the old fashion fairytale stories in a really good way
Superbad - i will be quoting this movie for weeks :)
Superman Doomsday - was incredibly enjoyable not a direct port of the Death of Superman comic and at times it seemed a little too condensed but it was great. My only real complaint no Cyborg Superman

Four Brothers - Good movie, a couple of sad parts here and there! But, I LOVED the ending.
Condemned - Cool movie! It was different than most movies plot wise. Plenty of action and surprises.

Resident Evil Extinction: not as good as the first two but still a nice movie. I'm not sure if they're going to be able to get a fourth out of this one or even if they should.

Next - I liked it! Although the ending was kinda sucky. So you know there's going to be a part two.
We are Marshall - Very emotional movie but I felt like it was lacking something. Great acting but it needed something more.
Bug - Okay I've seen the first maybe half an hour of the movie and it sucks! I still have the disk from Netflix so I need to watch the rest. But, I seriously hope it gets better. My idea of a good movie isn't watching some chick get all coked up, make out with a chick, and then have her abusive boyfriend slap her around lol. I was expecting better so I'll have to watch this when I'm really really bored! lol.

Fantastic Four - Not fantastic enough for me. I was super excited to see Julian McMahon back as Von Doom, but aside from that, I found it lacking. However, I did find the comedic parts entertaining.
Knocked Up - Pretty cute movie, but I think it was really slow in the middle. I think they could of cut a lot of the middle out and it would of made the movie even better. But it was pretty funny.
Death Proof - Bwhahaha, I liked this movie. I don't know...something about it was just entertaining as hell to me. The beginning was slow and could of been better, but it was a really cool concept with the whole, random scene cuts, and 'bad film' vibe, like it was a movie from the 70's. At one point, the movie just randomly turned black and white and I thought my DVD player had went wonky. lol. Plus the Grindhouse movies have a special place in my heart :p I was in the same hotel that they did the preproduction meeting for them and got to see/meet Kurt Russell, Rose McGowen, and Rosario Dawson. lol
We Are Marshall - Emotional movie, but really slow. I love sports movies, especially heartwarming based on true story ones, but i've definitely seen better than this one. But overall, it was still a pretty good movie.

I had a little double feature today
Walk Hard: the story of Dewey Cox - Meh could have been better it had a few nice laughs here and there but not worth my $9.
I Am Legend - This was a great movie. I enjoyed this beginning to end, its not for everyone but the scifi fans will like it.

Eastern Promises with Naomi Watts and Viggo Mortensen this was a enjoyable movie kept me glued to my seat for the whole way through. Story advances nicely without feeling forced like in some crime-drama movie this is definitely worth a watch or rent.

Juno - SUCH a good movie, I absolutely adore Ellen Page in this film. It's definitely not your typical angsty teen pregnancy movie, that's for sure. I loved the mix of comedy and sarcasm with the real issue of a teen girl being pregnant and giving the baby up for adoption. Great great movie.

I saw Aliens vs. Predator 2 in December and I was very disappointed! The action sequences were so sporadic you couldn't see the whole sequence just a Predator getting killed or an Alien dying. Not only that but the contrast was too dark that the details and the background along with the actors was poorly focused. The Predator-Alien hybrid was a bit of a joke lol they could have created something a little more convincing. And the ending left me going 'what the hell was the point of that!' lol.
The next two movies I saw from the Black Market lol.
American Gangster - Great movie!! It had its moments of violence but that was to be expected. I loved Denzel Washington in this film, even as a gangster. He was rather charming and very family oriented that you couldn't help but love him. I was rather bored with Russell Crowe though in this film, I felt like they could have chosen a stronger supporting actor. But hey, that's just my opinion. Nice storyline, it is based on a true story so just the look and feel are believable.
Why did I get married - This movie was slow in the beginning but after a good half an hour I was laughing my ass off!! Janet Jackson wasn't bad in this film but I loved the one chick who drinks often and pretty much says what she feels. Lots of funny lines and a nice plot as well.

Juno very enjoyable and pretty damn funny, i have new love for Ellen Page she made this movie.
Justice League The New Frontier haven't read the original TPB of New Frontier but this was a great movie really focused outside the trinity too.

The Invasion - I had read really bad reviews when this movie first came out, and people were dubbing it another Nicole Kidman remake flop....but I really enjoyed it! I never actually saw the original 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' so I can't compare the two, but I thought this movie was pretty cool and entertaining.

Juno -great but admittedly Ellen Page IS the movie. she is terrific!
American Gangster -I wanted to like this movie but it came off as just mediocre to me. there was not enough "gangster" for my tastes.
3:10 to Yuma - Now this is a movie. Bale and Crowe were excellent but Ben Foster really shines. HE is a good actor that I will keep my eye on. he never disappoints.

Well let's see...been watching a lot of new stuff lately.
Stardust - Excellent movie, of course anything by Neil Gaiman is excellent, so much so that my Mom went out and bought it the day she sent the copy we rented back into the mail and has been watching it non-stop.
Hairspray - A long time ago my friend, my Sister, my Mom and I watched the Ricki Lake incarnation of Hairspray...but in all truthfulness this version trumps that one completely and not only that but John Waters made a cameo! Of course he would, considering it was he who directed the previous incarnation.
Live Free or Die Hard - Great movie, the part with where the "White House" exploded freaked me out though. But it kept a good line of humour running through it...unlike the many other Action movies that have been gracing the Silver Screen recently.
Surf's Up - Interesting to say the least, never been into Surfing...or Penguins that much, but it was good overall.
Black King
03-25-2008, 09:08 PM
The Weather Underground - a documentary on the group of the same name, i had to watch it for a class but i didn't expect it to be as enjoyable as it was. Never dry or stuffy it almost relayed a need for revolution.
Elvira Mistress of the Dark - i don't care i love this cult movie :)
The Doctor

I just saw Beowulf last night...it was okay but...I really don't know. I probably won't see it again, Grendel made me want to throw up all over my Cat though Beowulf's bastard child with Grendel's Mother was sorta kickass...I wish I could turn into a Dragon at will...but the fact that he looked like a Golden Silver Surfer was kinda...unoriginal...but at least he wasn't a giant rotting corpse like Grendel.
I also got to see Meet The Robinsons...that was a really, really good movie. A lot of time travel, a couple Alternate Futures (one having a subtle change to Future History and the other being a Universe ruled by the HAL 9000 wannabe DOR-15 or "Doris"), and that guy from Magnum P.I. was in it.
I also saw...believe it or not...Becoming Jane. However it was only because I was bored...and really it did not help in bringing me out of my boredom. I mean it was a good movie...but it is just not my slice of cake.
I am probably going to watch "Across the Universe" tonight...so after I see that I will edit this post to include my thoughts on it.

Atonement - This movie was not exactly what I thought it was going to be. The commercials deceived the audience, at least in my opinion. Your lead to believe this is a 'romance film' but there are other elements involved. It was difficult to understand the dialogue in parts because of the London accent. But, I liked the twisted plot line but I felt like this movie dragged on. I felt like this was a three hour film instead of two hours. I think they could have done more. I found the ending to be bittersweet as well.
Sweeny Todd - I knew this movie would be dark, gothic, and morbid because it's a Tim Burton film. I was drawn to the movie from the beginning and I thought the musical aspect was unique. However, being an avid fan of the horror genre I was disappointed in the realism of the blood. It looked like fruit punch, which made it lose a sense of realism for me. As the movie progressed I was disappointed more and more by the twists and turns. I really detested the ending. I was left feeling unfulfilled and a bit like "okayy." Another movie that was bittersweet. It had a lot of potential but I was disappointed with Tim's vision with this.

I just watched the old Robin Williams flick Bicentennial Man, I like it alot. Its incredible to watch the journey to being a person. It always reminds me of this idea from a philosophy class i had "a Soul is not a gift from god but a goal to be sought with labor and humility."

Saw IV - As usual this series is disturbingly grotesque and filled with large quantities of gore. Needless to say I wasn't squeamish when I watched it. If anything I was intrigued by the director's approach. Revealing Jigsaw's past and how he came to be. It connected nicely and there were a few twists and turns I liked. But, I think they really should have stopped this movie at the third. Judging from the ending there will be another Saw film. I liked it though even though it was filled with blood and gore lol. Jigsaw is probably one of the most clever villain's besides Hannibal in Silence of the Lambs.
Just friends - I loved this film and I couldn't help but crack up. I laughed so hard I actually snorted, which is a rare occurrence. Lots of funny lines and a cute plot line. I'd buy this film on DVD and I cracked up on the gag reel section under the Special Features LOL.

Cloverfield - Now you either love or hate this movie.....and I totally loved it! I thought the whole 'Blair Witch' aspect of it made it seem more realisitc and left me on the edge of my seat and various parts [although a bit dizzy sometimes too lol]. I loved the creature and how in the movie it really didn't explain how it came to be in NYC. The only thing I really didn't like about the movie was the first 15 minutes seemed to drag on. It was to introduce the characters and what not, but at one point I was like, enough already...get to the good stuff lol.
ET - I adore this movie, so when I saw it on TV the other night I immediately turned it on. It's just a movie that brings back memories of my childhood and how I used to hid under the diningroom table of my grandparents apartment and cry because I didn't want ET to leave LOL. Needless to say, even now I still cry when I watch it. ;) Great movie and definitely one of my favorite Steven Spielberg films.

Iron Man - finally went to see this with friends, I think this maybe the best comic adaptation movie so far. Excellent characterization and just beautiful FX that made the armor look like it could be real. It laid the groundwork for the squeal and hopefully the Mandarin too. The bit with everyone's favorite Colonel was absolutely mind blowing just to see.

I agree. I would say Iron Man is right on par with Batman Begins for best comic adaptation up to date. Robert Downey Jr managed to pull off Tony Stark quite well and Gwyneth Paltrow was stunning as Pepper Potts. I cant wait to see Terrance Howard in the War Machine suit if possible in the next film, should be fun.

Saw Speed Racer today, its not as good as Iron Man was. To be honest it was mind blowingly great. It was a descent popcorn movie with a lot of flashy visuals. If you're not a fan of the old show my advice don't bother. If you are you're going to go no matter what so check it out.

The Cronical of Narnia: Prince Caspian - I actually saw this last week and forgot to comment on it, but the movie was so good! There was a lot more action in it than the first, and I read some places that people didn't like it was much as the first one, but I thought they were equally fantastic. I definitely suggest this as a go see movie. :)
What Woman Want - I was just watching it on TBS and I forgot how good it was. Although I don't look at Mel Gibson the same as I used to...due to obvious reasons, lol, I still think he's great in this film.

Definitely, Maybe - A REALLY cute movie. Well, I saw it because Ryan Reynolds is in it, and he's hot and has great comedic timing, so I figured I'd like it no matter what... but it actually turned out to be a really great movie despite the fact that he never took his shirt off. ;)
I know, I know.... I'm a horny celebslut.
As always, Rachel Weisz is charming, but this movie really had me warming up to Isla Fisher too... She was a real trip in Wedding Crashers and she did really well in this movie as well!
Anyway, it's a great romantic comedy, very engrossing and it's fun to try and figure out who the girl's mom is.

Alright did a double feature today
Incredible Hulk - IT WAS . . . . . . .meh. It had a few good moments but it wasn't anything oh god mindblowing. Set up for the Leader and the Avengers movie but other than that it was average. Better than the X-movies less than the Spider-man series.
Stargate: Continuum - if you are a fan of the show this is it. The final wrap up to the SG-1 part of the franchise. Great movie good looks and made for fans of the series, if new to SG don't bother. This i think is also the beginning of the transformation of SG into one of the bigger Sci-fi franchises. I image at some point in the future that we will be seeing this series more and more like Star Trek with the 7th Stargate movie lol.
Caught Hancock too - not bad could be better. my biggest compliant is that its a little unsure of itself. Its like a different movie half way through, Its like they have 2 scripts and decided to rush through them both.

The Dark Knight - In-freakin-sane! Best comic movie i've seen and by far the best Batman movie ever made. Heath Ledger's portrayal as The Joker so far surpassed Jack Nicholson's it's not even funny. He MADE that movie. SOOOOOOOO AWESOME! Nuff Said!

I saw "Mirrors" a few weeks ago and was so UNDERWHELMED by it, i forgot to post about it here LOL!
it seems like these days people think a horror movie will be deep or "high brow" if its back story involves some horrific, brutal event at a creepy mental hospital and this movie prooves that the trend is far from over

I saw Speed Racer the other night. It was totally cute! It's a little out there as far as blatant computer animation goes, but it's based on a cartoon so I can understand why they retained the animated feel to it.
I should add that I watched it on Bluray and the colors were unbelievably VIVID and totally mesmerizing. :D The picture, of course, was pristine, as can be expected from bluray, but really... the colors were so amazing... there are hardly words to describe it.
