Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing an Emma Frost movie. The sex appeal alone would probably sell the movie. And it would be an interesting character study, as she's quite the ice queen and it'd be nice to know why.
Okay, I didn’t want to post my reply in the ‘Wolverine Spin-off’ thread because it would get icky and off-topic. I wasn’t sure if it should be in the movie section or the comics section so I sort of flipped a coin. Farrah, PLEASE correct me if it’s in the wrong place.
Oh my goddess! An Emma Frost movie would be so the greatest! She has such a good history, she’s not in the movies, and she’s super hot! Well, I know it’s not okay to only like women because they’re hot, so I’ll find some other reasons that I love her…umm…I like the way that she’s so powerful that men are intimidated by her. That’s the sort of girl I want to be minus the white corset type outfit. I’m quite comfortable in my non-revealing black, thank you very much. *folds arms*
What would the rest of you think if Emma Frost had her own movie?

I would immediately pick Heather Locklear to play Emma Frost aka The White Queen. I would pick Shannen Doherty to play Selene aka The Black Queen.
I've read in depth summaries of the Emma Frost series and WOW is it interesting. Her back story full of dysfunction and tragedy. I still dont blame her though for gunning down her sister at the end of Generation X a few years back....it was the culmination of years of heart ache caused by her sister.

Yeah they have all of these really interesting series about Emma Frost that I have read and they even did a comic I believe that pretty much explained her entire history and all I have to say is wow.. I would watch the movie and they could even market it as Non - Marvel if they wanted.. still a good story!

Hmmm..the only person who pops into my mind for Emma Frost is Sharon Stone..

Sharon Stone is an excellent choice, so is Heather Locklear. I think they'd easily be the fore runners for the starring role if there was ever a movie made. Given Emma's past...they'd need to treat this with a good writer so that it doesnt wind up becoming a total FLOP like "CatWoman" did.

IF they played her right she would pioneer a new generation of uber bitches!
Plus I doubt I could watch a film with her in it, if played right. Emma gets me annoyed in the comics enough seeing her in live action would have me charging at the screen in a fit of insane rage.

I like the idea of Sharon Stone as Emma Frost. She's beautiful and good at acting...plus they don't need to have her dye her hair...OR MAKE HER WEAR A FREAKING WIG like the actress did [the one who plays Prue/Phoebe/Piper's deceased mother on Charmed..I can't think of her name!] in the Generation X disaster.
Given Emma's past...they'd need to treat this with a good writer so that it doesnt wind up becoming a total FLOP like "CatWoman" did.
^ Exactly. Ick, Catwoman.:sure:

the actress who played the White Queen in the failed Generation X movie in 1994 was Finola Hughes. She didnt even LOOK LIKE Emma Grace Frost (who has freely admitted to having the "best body money can buy") . Not knocking Finola because i love her on Charmed and she's had a strong presence in soaps for years...but the White Queen was not the role for her.
Looks like Sharon Stone is a fav pick of members here to play her. With Heather Locklear being in second place. I'd love to see this idea come to fruition..

I'd like to see this be made as a film.I found out that apparently Emma Forst was suppose to appear in a X-men film and be played by Sigourney Weaver.Love that actress but I'll admit she's slightly too old to play Emma. Then again I would still love to see her in the role.

The one thing I would say that would make this movie a success is dont have emma fall all goo goo over a guy, I cant stand in movies where they take a good character and ruin them over a lover. Like in Elektra, the character in the comics was a blood thristy assasin whos only love was Daredevil, but she was ruined by having an assasin get all mushy over some guy she just met and making really bad choices that changed virtually the way she was as a character.

I would totally have to agree that the great Sharon Stone would be the best person to play Emma. She has that sex appeal and can go from zero to bitchy in 6.2 seconds!! She would be perfect for this role...now if they would only get moving on a decent script.

Ehh, I don't like Sharon Stone. I think she's overrated personally. Heather Locklear would be a nice pick though. She needs a good movie to get her career jump started again, and usually these marvel based movies are just the thing to do it. (If done right that is).
But if they were to ever make an Emma Frost movie, they would most likely get a young "it" actress to play the role instead of staying true to the character. Which is crap...look what happened with Halle Berry in Catwoman.

For the record, I didn't think the Catwoman movie was THAT bad. The negative to it was not even Halle's fault. Although I do not think that is your motivation Persephone, what bothered me about the way that movie went down is that with some posters Catwoman HAD to be white for it to work. Halle had too many curves, her walk was too diva. It seemed that some forgot that the bst Catwoman I have ever seen was Eartha Kitt.
On to the Emma Frost movie, I think that Sharon Stone is NOT the choice. Remember, she was in Catwoman as well. I would go for an unknown blonde bombshell with acting talent and no big name.

Yeah, i'd like a no name as well. As long as they fit the look and the part of Emma Frost.

just curious, why do you two NOT think Sharon could do it? she's the right age and has the LOOK. Heather Locklear as well. The White Queen ISNT "20" and has not been for years even by marvel's standards. she's older, wiser and her whole attitude, way of doing tings..it REEKS of "Catherine Tremell" (basic instinct).
As for Halle Berry in Catwoman, I was one of the MAIN supporters of the film prior to its release and I cited the fact that Eartha Kitt was the original Catwoman in the Batman TV series ( actress Lee Merriweather was the FIRST Catwoman period...she was in the Batman movie that preceeded the series).
When it came to classic "Catwoman"I personally preferr Julie Newmar's catwoman because she's the woman I remember as a little girl. Both Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar are alive today and still very beautifull..they BOTH gave something unique to the Catwoman character. Michelle Pfieffer played Catwoman in "batman returns" and was FLAWLESS. She was sexy, conflicted and tragic all at once...far more depth than what had been seen before in previous portrayls of Catwoman. When Halle Berry was cast...i felt that this was an nod to Eartha because she too was a black woman and MANY people remember her for her portrayal of Catwoman.
It wasnt Halle's fault per se that the movie bombed..it was whoever thought that half assed storyline would work. half the shit that happened in that movie was pointless, it TOTALLY departed from the mythos of catwoman as she appears in the comics (who the hell is "Patience Phillips" and what happened to "Selina Kyle"). even the final battle between Halle and Sharon's characters was crap..most of it was a mix of "flashing/switching screen perspectives" and you could tell that stunt doubles were used to take the blows etc...it wasnt even polished and for MANY people (men and women) the idea of Halle Berry and Sharon Stone having a 'catfight' on screen was a dream come true....its neither of their faults that the movie bombed.

I'm just not a Sharon Stone fan. I used to think she was very attractive back a few years ago, but lately she looks down right homely. When I picture Emma Frost (and this is coming from a non comic book junkie lol, so take it with a grain of salt), I picture older (like you said, not in their 20's), beautiful, elegant, but with a certain edge and roughness about her. And I just think that someone better could be found to play the character aside of Sharon Stone.
Now I did agree on Heather Locklear. I think she would make a really good Emma Frost. But not so much Sharon in my opinion.

I think a project like this would turn out like all standalone superheroine films.
Elektra was terrible, not just as a movie, but also from a comic fan's perspective.
Catwoman by the sounds of it was even worse. Why do I say by the sounds of it? Because I heard enough from a great number of sources I have always upheld to make the decision that I wanted to keep that period of my life, thankyou very much.
Now I don't know about actresses etc, though I liked the Heather Locklear idea personally, and I don't know whose fault it was, but until I can be told about more good stanalone superheroine movies than bad, I will not believe that this is a prject that will (a) be done right or (b) proove popular enough to make money.
Sorry to be so negative about it and all, but the film world just cannot handle that kind of personality.
