So, who's checked it out or reading? Like it, love it, hate it? I'm personally loving it right now, myself..have to see how the sentry arc ended, but read everything else so far. I know many people went ballistic on Bendis for everything from the Disassembled storyline up to now..but it's showing to be very refreshing in my opinion. Can't wait to see what else is going to happen with it.

I know it's generally fashionable to hate Bendis and slag off the New Avengers, but looking at the facts (Avengers was a title that was getting very stale), change was needed, and Disassembled created an emotional end to one of Marvel's oldest institutions; the final issue of Disassembled all but had me in tears, with it's perfect writing.
And then the New Avengers came; as the characters themselves noted, the original Avengers did indeed leave a hole when they left, and it needed filling. The new team, whilst motivated by the same ideals as before, are a little more dynamic (as much a by-product of the reduced size as the new roster), and good fun as a team. The fresh, new style is highly enjoyable.
Also, I'm enjoying Sentry's introduction more than I thought I would, and it's been handled far better than I feared.
All in all, I hope that Marvel's Mightiest Heroes have a bright and prosperous future!

I like the new avengers, the team that has been put together is an awsome team. The only 2 things I dont like about the team are Sentry (He just seems over powered to me) and Spiderwomans name. I really wish she would change her name because it seems really funny to have spiderman and woman on the same team. Plus she isnt really spiderlike in character, dont get me wrong I want her on the team, I love her on the team I just think she could use a new name. But all and all its a good book I am enjoying it.

this happened before when Spider Man was called to active duty on the West Coast Avengers back in the mid 90's...he wound up being on duty at the same time Spider Woman 2 was co-leading the team. She didnt really care for him at all based on the interactions i saw, and she didnt hesitate to beat him down on more than one occasion.
But i think Jessica Drew deserves the name "SpiderWoman". she's the ORIGINAL SPIDER WOMAN and her powers may not be true to form (spider wise) but she can "wall crawl".

I was SO sceptical about this title and I was SO pissed when Bendis ended the Avengers though the last issue was touching and the first issue set the scene an epic event in comics I felt the whole Disassembled arc was short sighted.
I mean making Wanda the main cause of the problem seemed so unimaginative.
But New Avengers bought new light on a team who were unbelieveably stagnet they needed an overhaul and Bendis hasn't done that bad.
My only issue is Wolverine and Spiderman being in the team. I see them being their as holding onto a place where two new exciting characters could fill. Neither Wolverine or Spider need to be explored as characters within the Avengers comics... SPiderman has his titles and Wolverine has everything else in the Marvel Universe. Sentry is another issue but I won't plauge this board with my up and down views on this uber Superman sensation.
I'll simply leave it at this; New Avengers is exiciting and Bendis' delivery within the book is little short of amazing he does over-use the non linear narrative structure a little too much now but still the conversations and interactions between characters gives the title a more realistic, human and Earthly outlook without taking away from the fact that the team is trying to meet the standards of Greastest team on Earth. In short it is a good book.
Young Avengers is better though.
