<< upon entering the massive, gothic castle...the members of the group were immediately dwarfed by the immensial spatial proportions of the fortress. the ancient stone structure exuded a silent elegance...a strength in the midst of the cold, unforgiving, windy chaos that raged around the mystic realm of Limbo>>

<< in the main hall of the castle....pillars reached high to barrell vaulted ceilings with black banners w/ shredded edges flowed as winds whispher and streamed. the slightest sounds echoed....and the group walked along the beautiful red carpet leading to a massive stone stair case adorned with rose vines on either banister>>

<< they would make their way to the large circular library/apothecary..filled with books of spells, parchments, talismans and tools of sorcerey unheard of and beyond the imagination of most...it is there they would make their plans. meanwhile...the group was able to take in the gothic yet elegant surroundings. hardly as "warm" as Ororo's garden...but still it possesed its own silent serenity. one might wonder why morgan bothered to live on earth at all ...with all this at her disposal>>

:: Appearing in Limbo, Alexis looked around wondering why they were here instead of at the base. Her eyes glanced around at the familiar scenery, she'd seen it all before. She'd seen the demons, knew they were deadly, knew how "horrible" this place was. So it was like a walk in the park you could say. ::

:: Making her way into the massive castle, she had yet to enter the massive structure, only seeing it from afar in her previous visits to Limbo. It was beautiful; it seemed almost ancient. Walking to the large library, she didn't bother to sit, but to walk to one of the many large book shelves that lined the walls. Running the tips of her fingers across the many books, she read each title with curiousity. ::

::Alison always felt "odd" in Limbo, for time BLURRED in this realm and it was impossible for her to see "long range" here...she could only predict events within the most probable time thread.::

::walking along with the others...she knew what Morgan had in store, but chose to keep silent. She knew that Alexis had sat with Haleigh and reverted to type. But she had a more pressing matter to attend to.....making sure her brother would be able to stand against the harrowing campaign which awaited them.::

this apothecary is amazing. the spells and magicks contained here...must span CENTURIES....and all this knowledge...passed down from one demon mage to another.

::Guardian traveled the world after she left her family behind..scouring the darkest, most unknown parts of the globe studying dark magick...and so this....was like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow::

Morgan, I'm going to the summit of the castle...in the observatory...there's something I have to do while we are here.

:: motioning for Cameron to follow, Guardian made her way up the levels of the castle..finally to the large spacious observatory. around the circumference of this domed space were massive stone statues of Ororo, Spellbinder, Guardian, Foxfire, Magik, Darkchilde, Karen...and now Erika King. some of the statues had vines that seemed to cling to their pedastles...::

::the domed ceiling bore images of ancient mystic symbols...while the carved out viewing space allowed the winds to flood down into the space and whirl about...thunder echoed.::

Cameron...you see, Erika come quite a bit further in her development. that is the ONLY reason her image could be seen amongst those statues that surround this place. Those people who have or WILL play a prominent role in the lives of the Dark Trinity will enshrined here in this gothic castle. It's time for us....to have a conference. go to her statue....and call for her.

[ MorningStar wasn't sure exactly what they were doing here. The books of spells and other novelties held little sway fer her - magick had never held her interest, other than when Morgan used hers to their mutual advantage. The mystical was not something that came into play in her life, preferring instead to rely on logic and her own physical gifts.

MorningStar sat down in a large wood and stone gothic style seat against the wall, and waited for the others to finish their exploring so they could get on with it. ]

<< sitting down in a large, dark wood throne like chair with red velvet plush seating, Morgan looked over at MorningStar and the others>>

while Alison takes care of a personal matter involving her brother, we need to be clear on who is going to do what while we move through the Hive and Nervous.

since obviously there will be ALOT of fire power sent our way via lasers, missles, bullets etc, I think Guardian should lead off. her force fields are unbreakable and with her precognition she will most likely know what is coming and be able to repell it. We have our own sources of fire power in MorningStar, Shockwave and myself.....I'm not sure just WHAT Bane can do...and << casting a reluctant glance at Haleigh>> Black Widow seems to be able to manifest whatever weaponry she needs.

Would anyone like to volunteer to take a position? remember, we have to stay TOGETHER but be able to cover our immediate space and that out in front of us.

my stepping discs are going to be used for defense/offensive measures....the only "easy out" we will have is if we need to escape to Limbo and then back to earth.

<<Morgan awaited any questions and suggestions>>

Hugging Alexis seemed an extreme thing to do, even to Haleigh, who was as happy as circumstances allowed. Instead, she squeezed alexis' hand and smiled, the first TRUE smile alexis had likely ever seen from her. As Alison and Morgan came back into the room, Haleigh kept her whispers low, wrapping things up quickly.

"THANK you... so much. You've no idea how much it means to me. I owe you one."

As Morgan said it was time to go, Haleigh reached down to pick up the small briefcase she came in with, sucking in a big breath, steeling herself for dealing with Morgan. Destroying AIM would be no small feat.... but negotiating Morgan was definitely MOST challenging. she was already suited up, having done so before she came.

Appearing in Limbo in Morgan's castle, Haleigh was taken by surprise at the grandure of the place. She DID wonder what the hell Morgan was doing, living in New York city when she could be living here...

"How enchanting.... I've never seen such..."

Haleigh was struck in awe at the beauty of the Library room, and she suddenly felt a slight pang of jealousy. She pushed it away, reminding herself that Morgan spent no time here, and couldnt possibly be enjoying it. As Alison and Cameron left, Morgan spoke, and Haleigh opened her breifcase, spreading blueprints out on a desk. She put on a pair of reading glasses and peered down at them for a second, fingering the print before looking up at Morgan. She didnt really NEED to look at the prints... she'd memorized them ALL... she'd also memorized the hidden passages throughout the 'hive'.... she thought it best to neglect to tell them that little detail, and instead consulted her maps. No reason to look anymore suspicious than she already did. She took a deep breath, getting down to business, compartmentalizing her loath of Morgan for a minute or to... this WAS more important, after all.

"Well... I'm the only one here even REMOTELY familiar with the fortress... the rest of you are working with Alycia's information. I've no doubt shes done a wonderful job gathering what you need.... but lets face it... this is what i DO... I'm going to have a more in depth view of the Fortress. I'll... lead the way. I couldnt possibly know EVERYTHING.... but I know a lot. Between what i know about the facility.. and Alison's precognition... we should be able to predict whats around every corner of the way.... and You all should agree, we should fight fire with fire... and technology with technology... i'm the best thing you've got, as far as technology goes."

:: Turning her attention to Haleigh as she rolled out the blue prints of the facility, Alexis made her way over to the desk, looking down at them. Studying the drawings closely, she listened as Haleigh spoke. Her cockiness wouldn't hold well with Morgan, but it was the truth. With her knowledge and Alison's seeing abilities, they would succeed direction wise. But the mission would be far from easy. ::

"Do you know if there's any technology that could block Alison's precognition within the facility? We may be well off direction wise with your knowledge and Alison's assistance, but this is going to be far from easy. They know us; our powers. That place could be filled with traps."

:: Placing her hands on the edge of the table, she rested her weight forward, looking up from the blueprints from Morgan to Haleigh. ::

[ MorningStar walked to the desk and stood next to Alexis, checking out the blueprints for herself. She put a finger to her lips as she perused the documents, then looked over to Morgan. ]

"So...do you want me at the front making an entrance or at the back protecting our rear?"

Jill Monroe
10-02-2005, 10:57 AM
Delilah, among other things your powers activate "at the speed of light", plus you have long range with your photons blasts and lasers. you also have laser sheilds that can VAPORIZE projectiles.

Either the side or the rear would be best for you to take. Ill be in the air...and Haleigh and Alexis will be in the front.

<< looking at a particular floorwhich featured a large platform>>

this will be one of the hardest areas...it appears that this platform raises and lowers...like a a large elevator...we'll be hemmed in from all sides but the top...and that is most likely where everthing will pour in from.

<< hearing Alexis' question>>

Of course the place is filled with traps and state of the art weaponry..for ANYONE who gained access..not just us. the only difference is that they may very well have figured out SPECIFIC weaknesses in each of us....and be ready to employ them as well.

<< Morgan knew we what her own tactical weakness was...and it wasnt snakes..that was psychological. but there was ONE THING in particular that could stop her as a teleporter...she wouldnt dare mention it now, lest Haleigh store the information and attempt to use it later>>

the only way to effective STOP Alison's precognition is to render her unconscious. aside from that, she could focus in on ANY timeline she wanted while we are inside the Hive.

:: Nodding, Alexis looked to Morgan then Delilah. ::

"Alison should be in the middle. Even though she's more then capable of defending herself, they most likely know she's a seer and will try to take her out first."

:: Tracing her finger tips on the blue prints, she began to point at no particular corridoor, but just as an emphesis to her idea for positions. ::

"I think Adrian should take the rear, Delilah and Cameron stay in the middle with Alison, and myself and Haleigh in the front, like you said. And of course, you in the air covering all sides."

Jill Monroe
10-02-2005, 02:04 PM
agreed.

Delilah's laser shields are a good defensive front for oncoming projectiles (among other thigns) while Alison's force fields could protect the group from ALL SIDES if needed. my mystic shields will only protect us from certain types of offensive fronts....this HIVE/NERVOUS will be tricky for me ...but at least i have OTHER powers to rely on.

As they arrive to the castle, Adrian looks around, mild interest alit in his eyes. He recognized the type of realm this was -- similar to his own. Fascination registered on his face as they entered the library. The scholar in him itched to explore the pages of these many books, but of course, his attention must be dedicated to the more pressing matters at hand.

Drawing to the blueprints, he looked at them and then up at the rest of the group. "I work best on the defensive, though unfortunately my powers hold little sway over technology."

Adrian turned his head towards Morgan. "They may have information on all of us, but the preparations for me are based on powers that are now non-existant. Therefore, we have something of an edge over them."

He let his gaze rest on the blueprints once more.

"I'll do well in the rear. Energy cannot permeate my shields, and I can phase through any of their projectiles."

As always, Adrian would remain the wildcard. With a primal force inhabiting his body, there would be no telling what could happen, as this force could just as easily leave as enter him. No doubt, however, that they would gain an advantage from his power. Standing there, calmly and systematically memorizing the blueprints, Adrian had an otherworldly aloofness that would be demonstrated in the coming caper.

Haleigh remained quiet as Morgan spoke about the only way to truly stop Alison's precog. She knew Morgan would NEVER say what could cripple her... but she distinctly remembered what Alison had mentioned earlier about knockout gas. She was now possessed of ammuntion against BOTH women... the real question was... WHAT would she do with the knowledge?

Haleigh stood up straight, having been bent over the prints. She looked from person to person as the planning unfolded. She nodded here and there, approving what was being said. She loved this almost as much as she loved being IN the field... premeditating gave them power, rather than being unprepared and half-cocked. It gave them confidence.... and Haleigh was insidious and artful by nature. She nodded as Bane spoke, folding her arms across her chest, adding in as he finished.

"That's a very good point, Mr. Lockhart. they'll be slightly miscalculating when dealing with you, once they identify you. Speaking of inaccurate information... I've been rather inactive and withdrawn since my.... 'death'. I almost neglected that fact. They'll also have trouble identifying me... IF they identify me. My powers are much the same... but my DNA signature is very different. We might get lucky."

"Alright, good."

:: Alexis nodded as she too stood upright from the blue prints. Although what Adrian had said about energy not being able to permeate his shielding left the energiest a little uneasy...afterall energy was her element, and for someone to have an upper hand--whether on her side or not--always annoyed the brunette. As her eyes trailed to Adrian, his new found powers were a mystery to the entire group (well probably with an exception to Alison), so it would be interesting to see what he could do with them. Now looking away from him, she turned to Morgan. ::

"Will we be entering the hive with your stepping disks, Morgan?"

<< Spellbinder walked away from the long, dark wood "conference table"...making her way to a mosaic, oranmental hearth in which an eternal silver flame slowly burned...crackling and providing a cozy warmth in the massive, circular library in this cold, gothic castle>>

No, Guardain has advised me NOT to teleport us directly INTO the Hive ...but rather to the surface. we are going to the arctic circle. Black Widow can gain us a more subtle entry...but once inside..it wont be long before their bio stat sensors lock onto us and provide Nervous with "up to the minute" info on ALL of us, allowing Nervous to dispatch and activate suitable defenses.

<< looking around slowly...Morgan felt quite at ease and at home here....it may very well be that in the near future she DID relocate to Limbo full time...but for now....there were other things to attend to>>

If you'll excuse me.

<< Morgan left the library, her silver gem toned high heeled boots could be heard clicking and against the ancient stone floor in the hall before they fell silent when hitting a runner. where she was going was ANYONE'S guess...but no one else in the library knew enough abouto the castle or Limbo to risk wandering around ...they also were not aware of the stepping discs that RANDOMLY appeared throughout the castle...>>

Haleigh nodded in agreeance with what had been said. It all sounded copacetic to her. She said so, and watched as Morgan excused herself. Her eyes slightly narrowed as Morgan disappeared around the threshold of the doorway but the sound of her heels could still be heard as an echo fading away. Haleigh looked around the room at everyone still there. The silence that had fallen over them was a still and anxious one. They were all trying to mentally prepare for what they were about to face. Haleigh broke the ice with a nonchalant tone. She was feeling confident about this mission and it showed.

"Well... I'm going to take this opportunity to use the ladies room... not that any of you would, but dont worry... i saw one on the way in. I'll return shortly."

In truth, she didnt need to go to the bathroom... she wanted to explore this castle... and didnt want anyone to stop her. She turned and left before anyone could speak, trouncing out of the room by way of the same exit Morg had used. There was a MAJOR difference though, in the way she left and the way Morgan had... Haleigh's departure was unnaturally silent. there was no swish of fabric and no footfall whatsoever, her suit and footwear cancelling the noise completely, even in the room that echoed everything distinctly.

She slipped from room to room, the detail never ceasing to amaze her. She finally stopped in what appeared to be a most spacious weaponry room. there were intricate carvings everywhere. It was official. Haleigh would never again be impressed with the molding in her new house. The character of this castle was incomparable. She walked further into the room, turning around to observe everything. she had no idea what this particular room had seen in the past.... but she found it beautiful. she also noticed, as she looked round, walking forward to the wall to reach out to a wall-mounted sword, that this place practically SPOKE to her... and what it said was dark and sinister. No matter who she was on earth, this isolated castle, this cold and macabre Limbo was her home. It was core to her being.... Haleigh stopped to wonder WHY Morgan fought so hard against her nature. why she fought to be what she considered 'Good' when clearly she was anything but. it was intriguing, at the very least.

It was then that the stepping disc opened and swallowed her completely.

Watching Morgan walk out, followed somewhat inconspicuously by Haleigh, Adrian let his gaze avert to Alexis, and he rolled his eyes, for the first time displaying outward irritation with his fellow teammates. Both Adrian and Alexis knew only too well the folly of Haleigh, and what curosity could land her in while dwelling in Limbo, a place that seemed intangible to Adrian.

More closely observing the library now, Adrian paced up and down the cases and cases of ancient texts. His powers were advancing at a geometric rate; he could clearly make out the uneasiness of Alexis, in the form of an angry lightning bolt dashing across her body. Additionally, many of dead languages were plain to him now. With his hands behind his back, Adrian stopped by a book marked: "Druidism: Third Order" in some Gaelic syntax.

He took the book out, and despite the already chaotic atmosphere outside, a howling, forboding wind seemed to rush through the library. Paying no heed, Adrian turned to a few pages, and began reading. The writing was an elegant cursive, narrowed with each letter fully shaped; the mark of a scholar. The pags cracked and crinkled; it was obvious that this book was decades old.

"Spiritual beings come in many forms for many purposes. Often, their dwelling places are outside of the realm of humans, and some form of glass or other magically perceptive object will serve as a communication link with a human.

Each spirit varies in degree with power; all too often their will alone determines how effective they execute their ambitions. More commonly, angry or desolate spirits will have the greatest strength."

Adrian's mind absorbed the information like a sponge. Though he had initial difficulty in "thinking" in the language so as to allow maximum comprehension, it was now an inherent tongue. He flipped through a few more pages, and an illustration with colors for each element was displayed prominently on the top of the page.

"Many elemental spirits exist on the Earthly plane, and their will is manifested in a variety of ways -- from changing weather to occupying sentinent beings such as animals, plants or even inanimate objects. Sorcerers have succeeded in varied degrees in controlling these elemental spirits, but they ultimately remain independent of human control. Their purpose is unknown, though clearly these entities display the vastest capabilities."

Something of a warning label could be found further down the page, hastily written in. It was in an entirely different pen, and the syntax was different. Whoever had wrote this had been in a hurry.

"Avoid contact at all costs."

An asterick was marked next to the warning. He flipped to the back of the book, his fingers slightly shaking, and read a different scrawl on the last page, detailing the life and times of the writer. The page was much newer, and the writing more modern.

"Cenarius was a medieval druid, who had a peaceful, reserved attitude, matching the Mother Earth that he so adore..."

Adrian's eyes impatiently ran down to the last few lines, where another asterick was seen.

"His book remains ultimately uncompleted. No records detailing his existence after the Sixteenth Age exist. Scholars have suggested he made several changes to the book before his disappearance. An * denotes what may have been his last revisions."

He put the book down on the shelf, his hand shaking. He felt light-headed and almost deferential, as if something was holding him back from displaying the proper reaction.

"This place...it is fucking cursed," Adrian hissed under his breath, throwing a terrified glance towards Alexis. His eyes radiated a violent green, but it could just as easily be a result of Limbo's distortative properties.

Suddenly, he looked rather composed. Walking calmly towards her, Adrian asked Alexi casually, "Have you been here before.. in Limbo?"

The book on the shelf remained forgotten.

:: Watching Morgan and Haleigh leave, Alexis stayed put, now making herself more comfortable by taking a seat at the large table in which the blue prints were at. Looking to Adrian whom was taking it upon himself to look through the books in the massive library, Alexis then turned away, foldering her arms across her chest and resting them there. She didn't speak, in fact, the quietness of the room calmed her. Continuing to allow her eyes to study every inch of the room, her attention was soon driven to Adrian, who stated this place was cursed. Casually looking to him, she smirked. ::

"Morgan wouldn't have it any other way."

:: Crossing her legs, she adjusted herself in the chair as Adrian asked if she had been here before. With a nod she spoke once again. ::

"A few times. Mostly at Ororo's garden, which is like a modern day Garden of Edan within Limbo. I have never been here(castle) however."

:: Cameron put his hand on the statue. She reall was coming into her own with magick. It was breathtaking as he began to call for her in his mind which somehow he knew she would be able to hear. Soon the image of Erika King appeared before them in a swirl of bright red orbs where sparkling white ones used to be. Though Cameron had seen the transformation that Limbo had on her previously, Alison had not and would most likely be surprised by her startling physical appearance. She looked stronger and fierce. Not the shy and hesitant magick user she once was. He embraced her in a hug and pulled away. ::

"Erika, I would never come and disrupt your study, but I need you to do something for me. It is in dire need that I am coming to you now."

Erika King
10-04-2005, 02:52 PM
< Erika was in her private quarters, simply brushing her hair and taking a break from the grueling schedule Ororo had provided her with as of late. It was extremely tough, but Erika was getting stronger. She was getting powerful. She could feel it. Ever since she arrived in Limbo her abilities seemed stronger and grounded. Connected to something that was bigger than herself. Soon, she heard the call from her brother. Cameron was here? He must need something. Alison was with him. This must be important. Quickly putting down her brush and setting it on her marble vanity, she dissappeared and orbed to the location, taking her brother into her arms. She looked at the both of them as Cameron spoke. >

"I can tell there is a battle coming up... an important one. Alison, Cameron.. you both look so worried. What can I do to help, just name it..."

< She shot a glance to Alison whom she had not spoken with since leaving Earth for Limbo. Surely Alison would let her know what was going on. Cameron was an emotional person. Alison was not. If Alison was with her brother, either emotions were clouding her or it was of most importance. >

"Well, Alison, Cameron.. what is it?"

Jacob Black
10-04-2005, 02:55 PM
:: Cameron looked away from his sister, took a deep sigh and continued on with what Alison had informed him of earlier. The mission ahead. ::

"Erika, we are about to face an enemy that could expose most of the Six for who they really are. Mutants, Metahumans. Of course, Alexis and I are the most at risk. There is this stronghold, called A.I.M, they have files on me, they know about my powers. I shut off my telepathy at what seems to be the worst time, but I am not about to risk turning it back on for this mission. I've come too far along to risk that. But my new ability, Erika. This thing about the other side. It is extremely passive. I've come to you because I want you to catalyze that ability, make it active. I feel it coursing in my body all the time and I know if I could express it I could at least help the team out more than I can now...."

:: He looked at Erika, hoping that she would agree to this. Cameron was grasping at straws now and he needed something to hold on to. He needed to be able to help the team again. He wanted it more than anything. ::

Erika King
10-04-2005, 02:58 PM
< The story was shocking. An organization with this much firepower against the mutant and metahuman world? It didn't make sense. How was this able to happen. How could have Cameron allowed his powers to be caught? She needed to help him but she had concerns. >

"I am all for helping you Cameron, but if this active power is anything like your telepathy, it won't do you any amount of good. You will only cripple the team, however, I am sensing that this new "Sixth Sense" of yours will prove useful. I will see what we can do. Alison, Cameron, follow me please..."

< Erika began walking down the hall which lead to a spiral staircase that Enchantrah soon began to walk down. This was where the ceremony would take place. She just hoped that this time Cameron would use the new abilities to help and not hurt the team. >

::Alison stood with her arms folded...and watched Erika appear. she had a stone faced expression as she looked upon her sister with her cobalt blue eyes..but the facial expression subtlely softened as Alison beheld her sister...and saw the progress and growth::

I am sure you are aware of the task we face....the threat looms large, and as it stands right now, Cameron is ill prepared to face the challenges ahead PHYSICALLY with his powers. I have seen what new power can be catalyzed into being for him, and i brought him here...where the normal rules of time and space do not apply so as to facilitate the new manifestation.

This is for his benefit as well as the benefit of the team.

::Alison watched as Erika and Cameron spoke, opting to remain in the background...as she took a moment to survey the statues in the large, ancient observatory. such elegance ..she thought.::

::following behind her two young siblings...::

Erika King
10-04-2005, 04:16 PM
< Erika led her siblings down to what appeared to be an extremely large dungeon of some sort. In the center of the room was a giant stone forged pentagram whose edges were glowing in an almost neon purple. In the background, a flowing waterfall could be heard but nothing was seen. The whole room was rather runic and gothic in detail, but seemed oddly calming and soothing. Taking her brother and sister to the epicenter of the pentagram, she looked at Alison as she steadily began to prepare for what was about to happen. >

"Alison, before I go through with this.. I need to see what you saw, what did you see in store for Cameron. You don't have to tell him, but me.. I do not wish to catalyze his abilities in a way that might hinder the team. As for you Cameron, I need you just to stand in the center of the pentagram.."

< Taking her sister to the side, she eyed Alison with a hint of concern. >

"Are you sure what you have seen is the right thing for Cameron? I mean shutting down a power to grow as a person and then jumpstarting him with a non developed one?"

Haleigh fell out of the disc haphazardly but, like a cat, landed on her feet. She glanced round the room, quickly taking in the surroundings, looking, in turn, at each torch as it lit. This room was as beautiful as the rest but Haleigh had no time to appreciate it, as she soon realized she had no idea where she was and NO WAY to return that she knew of.

"Shit."

She knew all too well the unsettling feeling of stepping discs, so she KNEW that was how she got here, to wherever here was. She ALSO knew that Stepping discs disrupt time and space violently and where nearly impossible to track or predict... She could be ANYWHERE in existance and minutes or YEARS forward or backward in time. To her relief, she still appeared to be in the castle, though where exactly eluded her. Normally, she could easily determine her precise location and begin back toward where she was previously... but in Limbo.... latitude and longitude were null and void. She was still wearing her thin, wire rimmed reading glasses, and there was a reason she hadn't taken them off... her new glasses were as technologically advanced as she was... and aside from magnifying small print in books, they gave her a 3D heads up display with health warning systems, weapons analyzation, identifying programs, and much more information. the small earpiece she always wore on missions spoke to translate information. at the moment she was hearing the atmospheric observation, temperature, and humidity information about her new surroundings.

She turned immediately away from the large throne to see Spellbinder, who came in view and looked like something out of a nightmare. her glasses analyzed the view and she heard it instantly. "Pattern identifyed as photosensitive medium. Visual is a synthetic representation." Haleigh watched in silence. it was rather painful to see and be able to do nothing, especially the assault on Cameron. She frowned, watching as Guardian fought nearly to the death to save them, and Ororo came and SB retreated. the images faded...and Haleigh sucked in a deep breath. Her opinion of Alison didnt much change... she may have saved the group but she hadn't saved Haleigh and the resentment for that ran deep, though haleigh tried to forgive the trespass. It was going to take more than that to change Haleighs mind about Alison. Her opinion of Morgan as a MONSTER further solidified.... for seeing her in demonic form and not being IN the action allowed her to observe closely.

Before she could REALLY analyze it though, the voice in her ear spoke up again. "Presence detected, 9 oclock. DNA signature confirmed: Morgan Victoria." Haleigh smirked, turning slowly around to face Morgan as she spoke, demanding to know why she was here. Haleigh narrowed her bright, defiant green eyes. She realized quite clearly the danger she was in. Morgan had her in a rather comprimising position... ALONE.... and in unknown territory. Ironically, she wasnt afraid... for the worst that Morgan could do was kill her, and while most people feared death because of the unknown, Haleigh KNEW what lay beyond life and so had no fear of it. she faced morgan with steely nerves and a refusal to back down, no matter WHO's domain they were in. There was no reason to be diplomatic anymore... The group was gone and this was between Black Widow and Spellbinder.

"What do you MEAN? YOU brought me here! I went into the weapons room looking for the bathroom and you snatched me up with a disc. Is this what you had to be excused from the group for? So you could drag me down here where you could do as you pleased with me? Well? what are you going to DO to me? I'm surprised you didnt take me to the dungeons."

i did nothing of the sort. stepping discs are as much a part of Limbo as I am. they appeare RANDOMLY throughout this realm. my BASIC power is to CONTROL THEM.

<< her tone was cold and low. something was definately amiss>>

but now that you are in here, in MY domain...it is I who shall decide what happens next.

<< gleaming eyes opened around the shadows far off around the walls. there were techno organic demons hiding and waiting...just how MANY though it was impossible to determine>>

Alexis isnt here, nor is Cameron. you are quite alone....and well out of your league.

<< standing now in front of the throne...still in the costume she had chosen to wear for this caper, Morgan folded her arms>>

i see you got a glimpse of how "events" can happen at any and ALL times here. What happened at that moment during the inferno...was YOUR FAULT.

<< her face still enshrouded in shadow>>

and yet...you DARE to front me off at EVERY TURN even now? it is YOU who should have been kissed by the blade of the soul sword...NOT my sister...but of cousre...SHE would have to be the one to SUFFER for something YOU started...

Haleigh folded her arms across her chest, shifting her weight to one hip. She wasnt intimidated by this routine, not ever before and certainly not now, despite the demons gathering around her.

"I'm well aware of their absence, Morgan. I'm capable of being alone, I dont feel the DIRE need for an audience or a carbon copy of myself to echo my every thought."

Haleigh rolled her eyes as Morgan started ONCE again about how everything was her fault. Her eyes flashed with angry impatience.

"I REALIZE I did my part to bring about what happened....... but your sister's death is YOUR FAULT. YOU made her sufer. YOU killed her, Morgan. Her blood is on YOUR hands. You like to think you're NEVER wrong.... you try to act like you're SO much better than me... but you KILLED your own sister... and you're NOT fooling me. Now I KNOW what you're doing here... you want me to hurt like you do because of her death.... but I've got enough pain and guilt to supply every one in the Six for the rest of their lives.... so you cant SAVE it."

She let her anger surface, her heart rate soar, her adrenaline pump. they BOTH knew what was coming, because it had been building for some time. If haleigh ever slept, itd be all she ever dreamed of.

Haleigh stumbled back, a slightly surprised look on her face at being pushed.... she kept herself from falling over as she stared at Morgan. She too darkened, with a perverse pleasure. She would finally get her chance.

"Oh, is that so?? Well, speaking of not being fooled... youre one to talk, you murdering FRAUD!! You act as though you're SOOOO perfect.... but LOOK at this place.... this is YOU... its where you BELONG... and no matter how hard you fight it, you'll STILL be the MONSTER that killed her own sister! I'm a terrible person, its true. But i've never pretended to be moral or upstanding, not to the Six. They ALL know me for what I am... and i know that even if they DONT like me, its better to be hated for what I am than loved for what im NOT! But you... you'd have them believe you're a damn saint, all the while youve got THIS place waiting for you, calling out to you like the destiny that drags me back to the Six, kicking and screaming. I know what I did to bring about the Inferno... I restored you to your proper self! You try to pass it off, you try to convince every else and probably even yourself that something demonic had a hold over you... but you and I BOTH know you were very much yourself when you attacked us... you were very much yourself when you MURDERED me and BEHEADED your sister."

Haleigh had been slowly advanced on her, and now she pounced, bounding instantly on Morgan without warning, snatching her up by the throat and squeezing like a VISE, using her middle fingers to depress the pressure points behind Morgan's ears with such force that Morgan saw bright flashes and pain shot out from Haleigh's fingers like ten inch nails.

"dont worry morgan, just relax. In a few seconds you'll pass out. I'll let go then, I wont kill you. Its nothing major, but youre crossing the line here. Im sick of all these standoffs with you Morgan.... I'm going to do this over and over until either i kill so many of your brain cells that you cant function or you finally agree to comity. i'd kill you.... but I owe Blaze more than that."

:: Sighing, Alexis pushed herself up from the chair in which she was sitting on and made her way towards the doorway that Haleigh left. Leaning her shoulder against the frame of the door, she peered down the very dark hallway trying to see if there was any sign of Morgan, Alison, Cameron, or Haleigh. ::

"What the hell is taking everyone so long.."

:: A retorical question seeing as how Adrian had no idea himself. Crossing her arms along her chest, the meta human huffed as she bit the bottom of her lip gently. She was a bit worried...worried that Haleigh ran into Morgan. In Limbo Morgan was bound to do anything, this including killing Haleigh. Frankly, Haleigh was a big girl, she could take care of herself, but Alexis was more worried about the mission that they were supposed to be on. If they failed, Alexis would be exposed as the meta human that she is and her life, career, and family could be very well over. ::

Haleigh scowled as Morgan disappeared and reappeared in front of her again.

"Dont be so sure--"

She snarled before she had to stop to raise her arms quickly, shielding herself from Spellbinder's onslaught. Her suit helped absorb most of the force... but she was still thrown backward considerably. She sat up, glaring at Morgan and trying to brush the black scorchmarks from her white suit.

"And WHY NOT?! WE knew her TOO. We MOURN her too... We LOVED her too... We have just as much a right to remember her as YOU do. They dont know who you are, who do you think youre lying to? They know the CLOWN you tell the world you are. They SAW you as you really ARE... but they want too much to believe you are a good person to SEE you as I do."

Haleigh began to dodge stones and large rocks, fighting off Morgan's cronies left and right. They cut, rend, scratched and slashed at her suit but it was far more durable than it looked and the fabric didnt give. Haleigh began firing as soon as the gun appeared, a large shotgun with kick like a mule and ammos that would put a HOLE in a tank. Haleigh remembered what Alison said about knockout gas... and rolled a cannister on the floor, pulling a gas mask on to protect herself. The demons were holding off now, as she managed to blast back any that dare advance with as much speed as they had.

"what's wrong Morgan? cant fend for yourself? Need these beasts to fight all your battles?"

She couldn't see Morgan over the line of demons in front of her... and she knew these things were in endless supply so her goal was to bait Morgan into fighting her alone.... or at least distract her long enough for her to pass out, and then maybe they'd tend to Morgan instead. Haleigh dropped the gun to the floor as it ran out of ammo, having no time to reload. Instead, a flamethrower appeared in her hands, and she REALLY managed to get some space between her and the demons.

"Oh look, they dont like being barbequed, imagine that."

Adrian watched Alexis. Her feelings were transparent to him and, despite a slew of emotions he had subconsciously determined to cork, Adrian still felt underlying concern for the metahuman.

As she looked on from the doorway, Adrian appeared with inhuman speed beside her. His otherworldly green gaze peered down at Alexis. "A lot of what we will confront will be daunting and terrifying. However, you and the rest of the group have faced larger fish before, and have even halted Mystech's own machinations. We'll pull through, if our differences don't separate us."

He crossed his own arms, propping his back against the cold, stone wall. In truth, her own concerns reflected a nagging worry in the back of his mind. Previous to what had happened, he almost had two minds to combat each problem. While the same situation existed here, the mind next to him was mechanical in its efficiency, brilliant in its logic, and unwavering in its faith.

Looking on now to observe the rows of books and ancient objects, Adrian knew he had control of himself, but something else allowed him to see things through different eyes. Reality was much more crisp, and everything infinitely easier to combat. Then again, he had a cosmic being inside of himself.

What if I lose myself again?, Adrian thought, letting his gaze draw downward. Had he ever truly found himself? Even now, comforted by an omnipotent guide, he could not help but still feel different.. not quite in his own skin. It was surreal, and he shuddered to think what would happen when the dream would end.

Adrian had a bolt locked tight over his emotions and memories, disallowing him from confronting the horrors of his reality: that his life had been a lie, that he had been chosen for a much more diabolical scheme, and that in the future, their caper may open the floodgates for something terrible.

He brooded, while unbeknownst to him and Alexis, Cameron was about to clime an even higher pedestal of power and, farther away still, Morgan and Haleigh were locked in a duel -- possibly to the death.

Haleigh winced and turned as Spellbinder passed her, her arm aching from impact. She tried getting a locked on Morgan but had to stop to elbow a demon that got too close. The breath was knocked out of her chest by the uppercut, but she had the presence of mind to lean back to avoid the second hit. Haleigh reacted quickly, with a right jab and then a left, pummeling Morgan's face with both the speed and strength of a jackhammer.

"Did i? Well that's funny, BECAUSE I DID DIE, or were you on vacation then?? But i came back, not because I wanted to, but because I HAD to. Because WE had something to do.... She growled, as the maelstrom whipped around her. She wasnt too affected by it, her face was protected by the gas mask and her hands by gloves, her suit covering everything else except her neck, which sustained some light damage from the ice.

"Not everything's about YOU!"

She exclaimed as the winds dissipated. She saw the boulder soon enough to roll out of the way, and it slammed to the ground without her. "Well honey.... maybe Mommy didnt tell you... but you dont always get what you want."

She tried to retreat from the blast, but it seemed to fill the room completely and hit her with a force to be reckoned with, slamming her against the wall violently. She dropped to the floor, once again landing gracefully on her feet by the crystals. She smiled viciously, lifting her hand. A small handgun appeared in her hand and she quickly pulled the trigger. The gun emitted a bright purple blast of laser energy that flashed the room as bright as lightning. the crystals had a wonderful effect on the laser ray, splitting it off into hundreds of rays, scattered around, spreading from her position outward like a mirrorball deathray. It was then that Morgan's ensnaring spell activated, locking hales in place, finger on the trigger, permanently locking the laser in place and thus, turning the room into a deathchamber save for the small spot Haleigh was standing.

Adrian sighed, running a hand through his hair. Listening to the faint sound of footsteps as she disappeared, he felt like throwing a book. Or burning the library. Anything. The passiveness in his nature had begun to gnaw at him, but as always, composure prevailed, so he opted to rebellliously bite his lip. If anything, the crux of this group's Achilles' Heel was the blatant pride. It hindered progress on all levels -- physical, mental and emotional. How could they put aside anything if everyone was constantly playing these power games? It was like a damn poker match, where the objective was to fool the players.

But Adrian was no fool. He knew that the brief rage of Morgan had knocked some sense of reality and humanity to his team mates, but they had become reckless, despotic, sententious and selfish. As a relative outsider to the intricacies of The Six's past, he could objectively analyze the situation and come to the conclusion that changes would come, welcomed or not.

Of course, he had no room to speak. The machinations of serial killers pailed in comparison to Adrian's scheming, wherein he had used sex as a vicious weapon, sharper than steel and infinitely more painful. But it hadn't been him who had acted, yet Erica. However, given his detached state, he could relatively surmirse that he had to take responsibility for his own actions. Make amends.

Baby steps, he thought warily, now completely enshrouded in silence.

She closed her eyes. She tried to focus, focus on her powers. It was something she did sometimes...try to push herself, find out exactly what she could do. She concentrated on the sounds around her, trying to convert the vibrations, inaudible to the human ear, into something more tangible. Haleigh had no choice but to watch, to listen, as Morgan taunted her, as she was ensnared in the spell and unable to move. She never wavered, not even for a second, and she never flinched when morgan brought the soul sword an inch from her throat. She stared her killer in the eye, hers filled with a chaotic swirl of defiance, even an inch from death. She smiled... she knew what Morgan wanted, what she wished for more than anything. It was time for Haleigh to beg for her life. even with no audience, Morgan could replay this over and over on her scrying glass like a home video cherished above all. But Haleigh wouldnt do it. EVER. Even if it meant a less painful passing.

"Oh you're special alright.... SPECIAL ED. Go ahead Morgan, DO IT. Throw me to your demons.... Slit my throat.... or better yet, cut my head OFF...itd be a fitting and meaningful end, wouldn't it? To go the way Blaze did... to whereever she did... she mustve gone SOMEWHERE... maybe to a black hole... or a void, where there IS NO time or space. Funny, I thought that'd really CHAP your ass, me spending eternity with Blaze. But oh well... anything if it means you can be rid of me forever, right? But when you do it, I want you to look me in the eye and KNOW... this playing field was never any more level than Mt. Everest."

Haleigh would NEVER beg.... but she wasnt above a stab at manipulation.... especially not when she had so much on Morgan, so many angles to play.

"But enough with the last hiss of a dying snake, right? Do it... then I'll be dead... but I'll have won regardless... because itll be the SECOND time I turned you into the murdering atrocity that you are... and everyone will know... I always had that power over you... the power to revert you back to your true self. Oh, what would Ororo have to say about this.... no doubt she'd be devastated.... disappointed in you... and rightedly so, for after ALL she did for you.... you couldn't do the ONE thing she asked... you couldn't supress the REAL you."

Goose bumps rose from her skin as she stopped in mid step. In all honestly, she had no idea what creatures roamed this castle...she had never been here before. ::Ororo steps into view....wearing her white goddess dress with a BLACK cape...a black choker around her neck with a beautiful rose connecting on one shoulder to the cape...her hair gathered up with spiral curls neatly framing her face::

you still do NOT understand....it takes more than "throwing yourself into fullfilling your destiny " in order to atone for what you have done. NOR does it allow for bad behavior amongst a group already on fragile ground.

:: walking forward..and gently placing her hand on Morgan's::

Morgan, put down your sword child. remember how you have come. do NOT let the hurtfull, maninupulative words of this woman derail you AGAIN.

:: looking at Morgan....Ororo's serene face shown a more serious look...she was not intimidated, BUT she respected Morgan's power....she continued to look upon her surrogate daughter::

be at ease Morgan.

::slowly Morgan lowered her sword...Ororo guided her until finally the sword vanished..but Haleigh was still ensnared::

now, i knew this confrontation would come sooner or later. Morgan ive always said when you felt like you would lose control, that I would be there for you...to help you find the reserves of strength you didnt think you had. You must NOT fail now.

Haleigh, you have been WRONG on many levels since your return, but you seem to think that your MANDATE from "the powers that be" excuses you from humility and civility toward others. it does not.

Here you are...and here you will STAY until you have heard what you so desperately need to hear.

::waving her hand, the lasers dissapear....and demons slink back into the shadows. it was obvious that Ororo's power and place in Limbo were respected by those demons and everyone else. soon the throne room was still. only the winds and faint echos of sounds from other areas of the realm could be heard...as Ororo stood at a 3 o'clock position from the two women.::

did either of you really think this would avail anything?

:: she waited to see who would answer first...and the one who prooved to be more difficult would be dealt with harshly::

"Oh really, that would devastate you? And here I thought you didnt care about atrocious, repulsive me."

Haleigh still couldnt move, but her voice was dripping with sarcasm and animated enough to make up for her lack of body movement.

"Well, I thought maybe if I somehow miraculously beat the spectacular odds against me here in Limbo and beat some sense into Morgan, she would start practising a little humility and civility toward ME. Obviously a fruitless objective, right?"

Haleigh lowered her voice... she showed Ororo a little more respect than she did Morgan... though she was still clearly on edge.

"UnFUCKINGbelievable. You, Morgan, and Alison STILL do not understand... you cant CHANGE me... change must come from WITHIN. Only I can change myself... I've got to do it willingly and its not going to happen over night OR over death. No presto chango, comprende? I'm TRYING... i really am.... but its a daunting task by itself, I dont need Morgan and Alison constantly dragging me through the gravel. I LEFT... I left the Six so I could change... so I could get back to the person I was before my mutation... and for that week... I was SO HAPPY.... I couldn't believe hadnt left sooner. But I come back to help with this stupid super soldier thing and you... YOU PULL ME UNDER, MORGAN! You make me miserable and vindictive, and in return I make you a murderer. But I dont WANT TO DO THAT anymore, Morgan, can't you see? Cant Alison see? I just want to be happy... and i want to change, to be the person i was before."

::Ororo stood...looking upon Haleigh...what she was thinking was unknown to Haleigh...her facial expression at best was "general"....but her elegance and wisdow shown steadfast through the torrent of emotions in the air::

Haleigh, you are so set on showing everyone that no one controlls you, the LAST time it got you killed, what will happen THIS time?

true enough i have found your ways to be repulsive, and your general lack of regard for life to be dissapointing...but WHO AMONG US is without flaw? I do not stand here without my own personal shame...and Morgan certainly does not. Change comes from within...but events from WITHOUT should stimulate the NEED and WANT for change from within.

::looking to Morgan::

Let down your mystic chains.

::Ororo watches as Morgan RELUCTANTLY adhere's to her mentor's instruction....and with a soft chime...the mystic chains begin to fade away...releasing their constricting hold::

::Ororo stepped forward a bit::

the root of the problem is TRUST. From the moment you arrived in their lives, and rocked them with the news of Foxfire being alive...you USED THAT to your advantage. THAT is what caused everything to go awry. You must ADMIT to your hand in this JUST as Morgan must admit to HER's.

even the strongest tree knows when to bend in the winds so that it may withstand the STORMS that come.

::looking to Morgan::

and Morgan, my child. I know how hard things have been. First realizing your connection to this place, the nightmare of your father, the discovery and subsequent death of your sister....i have watched and suffered with you, but one of my core teachings to you was that we do NOT allow the magick and nature of this realm to control you. YOU control IT...your mind, your soul are YOURS to command.

Haleigh's methods may be infuriating..but they are no LESS questionable than what YOU have done as the dark child...or what I did so many years ago when i killed a man begging for his life here in Limbo after defeating him.

we ALL have darkness within us Morgan. using yours to HURT other people is NOT what i have taught you, nor is it how your mother raised you. Like you, my life has been blighted by this realm and its evil..and it took the deaths of my beloved x-men...among other things...to help me toward the path that has brought me HERE now. your life will be no different in that you will know suffering and pain...ALL of your lives share that common theme.

<< as the goddess brought sanity back to the situation, Morgan let down her sword...and at Ororo's direction loosed the bindings on Haleigh. haleigh's words were fierce...Morgan couldnt retort them in her usual way...because this was MORE than a catty encounter. this was everything coming out>>

BLAZE IS DEAD! i nearly DIED of heartache MYSELF, maybe i SHOULD HAVE...but i pulled back from the brink i PROMISED myself her death wouldnt be in vain..but i order to recover totally i had to kick Cameron OUT of Illustra. But you...came BACK and you just DECLARED that i had to DEAL WITH IT! i was BARELY dealing with BLAZE'S DEATH! YOU CANT JUST TELL ME WHAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH!....i havent even BEGUN to recover from BLAZE!

[ MorningStar felt it first, then she heard it. A sound like thunder raging in her ears. Building and building until it was deafening. Then absolute silence.

She felt like she was in a fog, her movements slow as she turned her head. The air seemed cold, sterile. Everything bathed in blue and silver light.

I wanted to mourn my sister! but i NEVER got the chance...

She looked up. ]

"Morgan..."

[ She got up, the light gone, her movement back to normal. She took off through the door, determined to get to her friend. ]

Haleigh was released, and slightly stumbled before regaining her muscles and her balance. she rubbed the back up her neck and turned her head, popping her neck once and shuffling her feet. She looked from Ororo to Morgan, the anger fading from her face, the violence fading from her eyes. She dropped the sarcasm, her voice taking a sincere tone and for once, emotion could be heard on a ledge just beyond it. She locked eyes with Morgan.

"I know, I know. What I did, when we first met... how I treated you.... it was terrible. Very nasty of me.... but you need to understand... thats all I KNEW... I dealt with absolute EVIL day in and day out... Its all I saw of the world. There was no such thing as a GOOD person... And the ONLY way I knew to cope with it was to be even WORSE than the people I met. Its all I knew. I know its no excuse. My tactics in dealing with you... they weren't right, and I'm sorry. You deserve more than that, I realize that now. When I returned.... I was trying to be honest, straightforward with you. I didnt mean to come off the way I did... but around you i get so... angry.... and my intentions got away from me. I should have approached you with a little more finesse. But I hadnt begun to recover EITHER! You killed me and I went on... everything happened so quickly... before I knew it I was back again and with a purpose, i needed to go back to the Six... I'd just found out about her death, I was still reeling from it... I didnt know how to face you, knowing you'd done it.... I was a loaded weapon coming to meet you and you only made it worse. I didnt WANT to fight then... and I dont now either."

Haleigh paused, sighing. This was hard for her, most especially because it was MORGAN she was saying this all to. She had been so stoic around Morgan for so long it felt unnatural to be so open now.... but she was almost finished saying everything now, she might as well get it all out.

"I know she's YOUR sister... but Blaze has been a staple in ALL our lives. I used her at first to get a handle on you, its true... but after I came to know her... I came to love her. We ALL did.... Blaze was the ONE person that linked us all. I dont think ANY of us have dealt with her death. We jumped right into saving Alexis... and now with this. We've been yanked from caper to caper, we haven't properly mourned her. She deserves a proper tribute. After this Fortress crumbles... we should have a ceremony, take a break from saving the world for while to mourn her.... I can arrange it.... I have far too much experience burying my fallen comrades."

<<meanwhile...Guardian and Erika "prepared" Cameron for the tests and trials that lay ahead...THEY were at the summit of the castle>>

Adrian had sensed danger moments after Delliah, feeling the stress of far away spirits and, equally, her distressed soul responding to the call of her friend. It took him a relatively short amount of time to gain on Delliah and Alexis -- in fact, he was "shifting" in and out of reality next to them, traveling at inhuman speeds. To the ignorant individual, he would appear as a ghost.

"Experiencing" the fight between Haleigh and Morgan, Adrian could only frown in disapproval. Their bitter quarrel had almost cost Haleigh her life and, what more, it was clear that each woman was relentless in her quest to hurt and to degrade at whatever cost. He was both relieved and mildly suprised by the appearance of Ororo -- both of them had never met each other before, though Adrian was faintly sure he had heard of her from his mentor once.

Standing there next to Alexis and Delliah, he looked calmly towards the stone passage .. a steady rock in the storm of emotions that had rocked Morgan, Haleigh and perhaps even Alexis.

Turning to the man, she wondered how he got there...but didn't bother to ask. Stepping forward, she took it upon herself to enter the stone passageway. ::

:: Pressing her hand against the stone wall, she managed to slowly push it open, wide enough for her to slip through. Now in a dark narrow corridor, she saw what looked like mystic balls hoovering in the distance...Making her way down the short passageway, she was now inside the large thrown room facing Haleigh, Morgan, and Ororo. ::
