:: Dawn was slowly approaching. The birds began to chirp and the black skies were turning a beautiful shade of violet and pink. It was a brand new day for the members of The Six, however it was a day that would test the bond of the team. AJ's funeral was that afternoon, making this most difficult for Alexis. But Alison and Morgan would be present which would bring much tension between the two witches and Alexis' aunt, Helena. Anything could happen today, and that's what worried Alexis the most as she sat on her terrace watching the sun rise. She hadn't slept all night. Now in a dark royal blue robe, the blonde rocked back and forth in her rocking chair, hugging herself as the wind danced along her body. Visible goose bumps could be seen on her legs indicating she was a bit chilly. However, she stayed put. ::
"You have no right to grieve AJ!
:: Echoed in her mind. ::
"You're a leech...a parasite! You latch onto people and hold on for dear life until they throw you away like the piece of trash you are!"
:: Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath in. Was she as strong as she thought she was? That she thought she had been? Or was Helena actually right for once. Hell...she was right about a lot of thing. She couldn't hold onto a man. She would of fallen off the wagon if it weren't for both Cameron and Alison. The only reason she had Tempo was because her father gave it to her. Even though the blonde looked tired and emotionless; her mind was racing with thoughts of "what if". She just wanted to get this day over with.... ::
:: Looking down at her watch placed on her wrist, it was now 5:22am. Seven more hours to go.. ::

<< a blast of thunder heralds the opening of a stepping disc...Morgan comes flying up through the disc with a look of consternation on her face...even as the day is FRESH and just beginning..she is already upset...that HALEIGH DAVIDOFF..a woman who LEAST deserved to be restored from the Inferno is now back...and JUST when she had gotten rid of Cameron as well...both from the team and from the business front>>
<< standing in the large chamber of dreams...Morgan exhaled with extreme agitation...>>
GODDESS! why is SHE ALIVE!? <<thunder cracked within the walls of the building as Morgan fumed with rage, worry and disbelief>> JUST when i was getting my LIFE back!
<< she paced back and forth....before her eyes fell on a picture of herself, Alison and Blaze ...looking so radiant and so happy...the picture was beautiful and a wonderful reminder of times past...but as Morgan slowly picked it up and looked at it...her facial expression settled...she was quiet..and reflective>>
<< in a soft voice>>: Blaze...ill never truly forgive myself for what happened to you...and ill always..ALWAYS love you. I promised Ororo that your death would not be in vain....that i would gain the control of self and soul that SHE has...I will make sure that your .....sacrifice was not.....
<< tears began to well in her icy violet eyes>>....in vain.
<<putting the picture to her bosom...Morgan looked up>>
ORORO! HOW am i going to do this!? Haleigh is...such a WRETCHED CREATURE!!..SHE LIVES..and yet BLAZE IS DEAD!!
<< it was a flash of anger and wave of sorrow...was there NO justice?...Morgan slid down to the floor...still clutching the picture.....>>
Alison....where ARE YOU!?
<< she closed her eyes...and began to shed tears...for her fallen sister...and for the anguish of knowing that HALEIGH was alive... to her it was such a miscarriage of justice on the part of the powers that be....>>
Adrian, ever the pretentious bastard, had lazily begun to occupy ¾ of the king-sized bed, spreading himself out like fucking jell-o.
“Asshole,” muttered Brad, who clung onto the mattress to steady himself, over half of his body hanging off.
He turned his head, observing the sleeping Adrian.
“A cute asshole,” he corrected.
Brad shrewdly attempted to imagine Adrian suddenly being hit by a comet, but he found himself wanting to bite his ass instead.
“Move – over!” Brad hissed through his teeth, punctuating his words with an emphatic kick against Adrian’s waist.
Oblivious, Adrian extended his limbs out further.
“Shit,” he said, warily eyeing the hand that had surreptitiously crept up Brad’s chest, found his right pectoral, and squeezed very hard on one nipple.
Normally, Brad would be turned on by this clash of pain and pleasure. Right now, however, he wanted to go the fuck to bed.
“C’mon, man!” he said in frustration, attempting to push away Adrian’s very insisting hand.
Adrian swatted away what was left of Brad’s presence on the bed, and he fell with a dull “thunk” on the floor.
Brad growled, pounding his fists against the carpet.
Adrian began snoring.
Damnit.

:: Standing from her rocking chair, Alexis steadied her weight on the balcony railing as she leaned forward. A soft creaking sound could be heard as the chair continued to rock gently. The wind whistled, and the leaves from her numerous plants rustled, making the moment almost serine. Pressing her pale lips together, the blonde turned away from the now lit New York City, and proceeded to make her way back into her penthouse. ::
:: Gently shutting the french doors behind her, Alexis walked over to her bed and climbed in. It was the first time she had been in her bed all night, and boy did it feel heavenly. Perhaps it was the fact that she was extremely tired, or maybe it was just the feeling of wanting to crawl into a hole and die, but Lex was actually "happy" to lay down in her very comfortable king sized bed. It was around 6:30 in the morning now, and it would be pretty pointless to fall asleep now, so she just laid there. Her eyes bloodshot and puffy from crying, Alexis slowly blinked trying to keep herself awake, but soon, her eyes fell shut and she slowly drifted off to sleep. ::
Sun spilled from the windows, accompanying the idyllic scene of Adrian's suite, which aside from the perpetuated scent of chocolate and mint, now radiated with the scent of freshly brewed coffee. The source: a filled mug propped on Adrian's night stand and set against an alarm clock that read 11 AM in neon green digits.
Brad had left in the early morning, and Adrian had vaguely heard mutterings about a "sore back" and "unaccomodating bed mates" on his voice mail among other things .. namely that the gala event had been a success, and celebrities were already raving about Adrian's impromptu party.
He now sat in front of a full length mirror, refreshed from a long hot shower and the sure relaxation that came from waking up in the late morning. Fitted along the adonis' figure, the black suit looked expensive. He now fumbled with its tie, adjusting it around his neck as he finally reflected on the past night's events.
Laetitia had served her purpose, and despite the fact he kept her alone for the rest of the event, she had left a hopeful message on his answering machine. Erika King, Cameron's sister, was nothing to dwell on. A simpering girl who'd easily fallen under his manipulations. Cameron King..
Here Adrian laughed. It had been a cock fight between them, and Adrian was more than enthusiastic about repaying him a visit to clarify which one had the proverbially bigger cock (namely, himself).
He went over Cameron King and thought about Alison. Their interaction was.. "different," he found himself saying outloud. Here was a woman who, perhaps, understood him. Even posed a challenge for him. He welcomed another encounter with Alison.
And then there was Alexis. Adrian sighed. That meeting with that woman...
No, a cold voice reminded him firmly. With the tie in place, he threw on his suit coat and stared in the mirror one last time. But it appeared that his mind did not agree with him all that much, because moments later Adrian found himself transported back in time... in a room that smelled of perfume and roses and honeysuckle.
A smaller Adrian Lockhart stood outside of his mother's door. Bane turned his head as he heard the knock. A strong, throaty voice called out, "Come in," and moments later a pimply youth sauntered into her room. An unpleasant scent of dirt, sweat and mold now clashed with his mother's pleasantly aromatic atmosphere. She wrinkled her nose, and Bane now turned to regard her. Chestnut brown hair, beautiful brown eyes...his eyes, Bane noted. The figure of a supermodel, the regality of a self-made multimillionaire. He held his breath. He knew this scene all too well.
"Mommy, mommy, look what I found!" Adrian exclaimed excitedly, running up to her and extending out his hand. Brittany turned and looked disdainfully at the outstretched palm, upon which a particularly large green bug sat. Bane watched, a pained expression on his face, as Brittany, Adrian's mother, smacked the bug out of Adrian's hand and let it fall into a nearby trash can.
"Adrian, what did I tell you about bringing these atrocious insects into the house?!" Brittany hissed as Adrian scrambled to retrieve it. His fumbling hands dug out tampons, tissues and all sorts of cosmetics in his search for that creature. Triumphantly retrieving the bug, Adrian turned to his mother. Still hopeful. Still wishing she'd return his enthusiasm. Or give him something, anything.
Brittany looked at the mess on the floor around him with a half-hopeless, halff-enraged expression. "Adrian, get out. OUT!" she shouted, her supercilious gaze landing on Adrian's acne, on his too-large teeth, his perpetually sunburnt skin. An ugly boy. And how Brittany had prayed for a beautiful daughter! An observant kid, Adrian saw her dejected expression and knew -- it wasn't the bug. It was him. He would never be good enough. And he'd always seen her look at him like that.. but Adrian had hoped..he'd..
The boy abruptly took off, running from the room and his cold mother and the beautiful world that would not accept him.
The memory ended with the slam of the door, and Adrian saw himself once again standing in front of that full-length mirror. He grinned, assuring himself that yes, he was beautiful. Beautiful and powerful. Nothing like that boy. Nothing like Alexis, whose pained look as she had stumbled and fallen infront of him was only too familiar. Too close to home.
Nothing, he'd remind himself, as he put on his suit coat.
Nothing, he'd remind himself, as he grabbed his cellphone, wallet, keys.
Nothing, he'd insist, as he stepped out of the room, and grinned automatically at a passing maid, whose heart skipped a bit.
Maybe something, a small voice would suggest, but Adrian Lockhart ignored it.

:: It had been a few hours since Alexis had fallen asleep, and now she was up and about, getting ready for AJ's funeral. Walking out of her bedroom and down the hall, her black heals gently clicked on the hardwood surface as she emerged from the darkness and into the light. Her head was tilted to the side indicating that she was fiddling with one of her earrings trying to get into her lobe. Finally shutting the clasp, Alexis took a deep breath in and looked around her apartment--at the new day. ::
:: The blonde looked beautiful...more so then ever before. Dressed in a simple black pencil skirt and burgundy satin stop (outfit (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/images/prodlgvw/V247362.jpg), outfit2 (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/images/prodlgvw/V248045.jpg)), Alexis wanted to look appropriate yet "herself". Her brother wouldn't of wanted it any other way. Her blonde chest length locks were straight and down, with her bands swooped to the side. And makeup subtle. ::
:: Placing her black Coach bag down on the island, she made her way to the fridge, opening it and taking out a bottle of Raspberry flavored water. Closing the door, again she made her way back into the livingroom sitting down. It was around 10:30am....a half hour before she had to leave. Opening the bottled water, she took a small swig of it before leaning forward and putting the bottle on her coffee table. Sitting back, her mind was still racing about irrelevant thoughts. Thoughts that normally wouldn't bug Alexis. Were Morgan and Alison going to come pick her up? Was she heading to the airport alone. Was Cameron coming? How long the flight would be. If she would make it in time....::
:: Extending her neck back, she took yet another deep breath in feeling her anxiety level start to rise. Resting her head against the back of the sofa; she needed to calm herself down. ::

<< a blast of thunder with chimes in the background heralds the opening of a stepping disc. Morgan steps foward...wearing a flawlessly tailored black Gucci blazer and black short skirt. the blazer's V neck revealed cleavage which was impossible to tell if it was being supported by a barley there bra or no bra at all. Morgan's eyes were hidden by feminine, rounded Gucci sunglasses. and her blonde, double highlighted hair was pulled back into a sleek glossed bun. on the lapell of her blazer was a small 24 kt gold heart...with a picture inside of it...a picture of Blaze Fielding. Morgan's look was still sexy...as she strode forward on her long flawless legs supported by black four inch high heels...she looked feminine but appropriately subdued for the funeral that she was going to attend....with her eyes hidden from view..it was impossible for alexis to know that Morgan had been crying as well...not only because all of this had reminded her of Blaze...and how RECENT that was, but because Haleigh had gotten a second chance at a life that Morgan felt shouldve been granted to BLAZE more than anythign else. Alexis didnt know that Haleigh had returned...and Morgan hadnt been able to reach Alison, but somehow she knew Alison would be here at the right moment>>
<< her voice was icy..but softer than usual>>: I think...it would be easier for us all, if I just teleport us there. we dont need to deal with the security at the airport....and ill get us there in the blink of an eye...which gives us more time to.........talk.
<< a surprising moment indeed from the woman who looked almost like an intimidating designer female secret service agent...but her demeanor was seemingly tranquil and subdued...she seemed open to talking and listening to Alexis if she had anything to say

:: Alexis didn't even hear Morgan appear in her apartment until she heard the soft clicking of heals on her hardwood flooring. Opening her unusually dull robin's egg blue eyes, the meta human looked to Morgan, whom was ready to leave for the funeral. Alexis didn't say anything. In fact, she was pretty stunned that Morgan wanted to talk to her....but then again, I guess she shouldn't be. They did, after all, loose their siblings. ::
:: Parting her lips, she took a breath in as she stood from the sofa. Making herself around the leather couch to her kitchen island, she took picked up her purse, immediately placing the strap on her shoulder. Turning to Morgan, Alexis was ready. Ready to see her brother....dead. ::
"Oh god..."
:: The only utterly painful words she could say before she cupped her hand over her eyes. It was apparent to Morgan that Alexis' tough armor that shielded her feelings from others was down. The fact that she was even CRYING in front of Morgan indicated how truly hurt she was. Taking a shaking breath in, she moved her hand from her eyes down to her mouth.....her eyes cast down to the floor, she just seemed to stare at nothing for a few moments, before looking back up at Morgan....::
:: Once again, she was shutting herself down. She needed to take control of her emotions before she completely came unhinged. Lowering her hand from her mouth, she ran both hands through her blonde locks taking a few more needed moments to compose herself. Finally she began to walk to Morgan. ::
"Sounds okay to me."
:: Alexis said softly. Now in front of the woman, she crossed her arms across her chest and awaited to leave. ::

<< Morgan looked down at Alexis. she could see Alexis' eyes..but Alexis couldnt see hers...there was pain all around her...Morgan felt it...even through her icy hard heart.>>
<< in an icy voice>>: Listen..i know we havent been on the best of terms..ever. but we've been through hell..the both of us... ALL OF US. and i would be lying if i told you that i dont feel bad for you right now. it hasnt even been three weeks since BLAZE....and just when we were putting our lives "back together"...this happens.
i dont think we can afford to pretend anymore Alexis...we need to help each other get through this...and thats going to require you being as real with me as i'm being with you...right now.
<< Morgan stood before Alexis woman to woman>>
we dont need to leave yet. Alison has to get here...and like i said...we have more time.

::a POP is heard...as a pair of cobalt eyes open...in the hallway outside of Alexis' penthouse near the top end of Illustra::
::Alison was now wearing a black, low cut V neck mini dress by Calvin Klien along with a waist length, military inspired designed tie round black jacket...it was a stylish, trendy, yet sexy outfit that revealed Guardian's own well toned, long legs...which were supported by black high heeled four inch pumps::
::her hair, was styled just like it had been for the gala..jet black, bone straight and parted down the middle...resting just above the shoulders in a chic, simple, flawless bomb (see pic from the gala thread)* and as her cobalt blue eyes sparkled...Guardian was now dressed and ready to accompany Morgan and Alexis to the funeral.......she knew Morgan was inside...and that she was aware of Haleigh's return. Only Alexis was out of the loop..and of course Adrian.::
:: Alison decided to wait...and "listen" as Morgan and Alexis talked..as they DID have some extra time. she silently blinked in to the penthouse....only her cobalt blue eyes appearing as she hid behind a large potted plant. silent, still and unnoticed by anyone...::

:: Listening to Morgan; she was sincere...completely and utterly sincere. Even though she was still rather cold and analytical about her approach, that was just Morgan. Lowering her eyes as she spoke of Blaze, spoke about how they needed to help each other. This was all true. She couldn't do this alone. She needed Morgan's assistance...and as much as Morgan hated to admit it. She needed Alexis. Finally she heard her last words. Being as real to Morgan as she was being to Alexis right at this moment. Lifting her eyes, she stared straight into Morgan's designer frames...the frames in which hid her own pain stricken eyes. ::
"This is as real and hardcore as it comes, Morgan. My entire life is crumbling before me, and.......I don't know what to do. For the first time in my life. I just don't know."
:: Pausing. Alexis stood but only an inch below Morgan's tall frame. The two woman whom used to stand toe to toe fighting against each other....were not teaming WITH each other. ::
"I can't push any of you away because.......because you're all that I have..."
:: Reaching up toward Morgan's face...it was a risky move, but a move Alexis was willing to take it. Gently removing Morgan's large designer glasses, she held them carefully within her fingertips as she looked into Morgan's eyes. Eyes that were just as hers were.....filled with pain and sorrow. ::
"Morgan.....I know the pain, and the regret, and the guilt that you feel right now. Because I feel it too. I just....I'm sorry. For your loss."
:: She couldn't say anymore. It was just...difficult I suppose. Lifting her hand up, she held Morgan's glasses out to her.....Unaware that Alison was in the room, Alexis basically just completely opened up to Morgan. ::

<< Morgan went to raise her hand to push Alexis' hand away as she gently but boldy reached for her designer gucci frames. Her icy violet eyes were now exposed...as she blinked... the redness and strain indicated she had obviously been crying before she arrived.>>
<< the women looked at each other..it was one of the most powerful moments they had ever had outside the battle field ...and there was no sound...only the silent air around and Alison, who was hidden behind a potted plant and watching>>
<< there was nothing more to say. as shocking as it was, Alexis seemed to reach out to Morgan by removing her designer sun glasses......Morgan reached out and took the sunglasses from Alexis,...and took her into her own arms..hugging her>>

:: As Morgan embraced her with a hug, Alexis' body went weak. She couldn't hold her overload of emotions in as she soon began to weep; wrapping her own arms around Morgan, returning the hug. This was it. Hell had JUST frozen over. Morgan and Alexis were hugging....were understanding each other. Yes, hell was offically now a skating rink. ::
:: After a few long moments, Alexis finally let Morgan go..pulling away from the hug. Her face was wet from the tears that were just spilled, yet she looked somewhat happier. A small smile appeared on her lips as she took Morgan's hand within her own. ::
"Thank you..."
:: Sniffing, her eye happened to catch the small heart pin that was on Morgan's blazer...she hadn't noticed it before, probably because she was so distracted. Looking at the picture within the heart...it was Blaze. Gently letting Morgan's hand go, she lifted it up to the pin and brushed her finger tips across it softly. ::
"You know...she would be very proud of you right now."
:: Of course, Alexis was talking about the fact that Morgan was being so open and helpful towards the meta-human. When normally, Blaze was trying to stop them from bickering. It was a great moment. One of the most memorable thus far in the game...atleast in her eyes. Taking a deep breath in, Alexis took her hand back from Morgan's blaze and looked down at her watch. It was quarter til' 12. Time sure was flying... ::
"We should get going. The funeral starts in 15 minutes..."
:: Pausing, she realized Alison hadn't arrived yet. ::
"Is Alison still coming?"

<< Morgan was stunned by this...but in her heart of hearts..she knew this was yet another small triumph in her quest to move forward and proove Ororo proud>>
<< taking her gucci sunglasses and putting them back on, Morgan took her purse and placed it over her shoulder...clearing her throat>>

I am here.......there's something you should know. Cameron said he wanted to come. But given that Morgan has forbade him to return to Illustra...he will be meeting us there in Port Charles. he has promised to stay away from Morgan and will cause any disruption while we are there.

:: As the woman disappeared in a blink of an eye, the just as soon reappeared in Port Charles, standing outside of the church in which the service was being held. The doors were closed, but she could hear the chatter of voices within the building. Stepping forward, Alexis pushed the massive wood doors open, stepping through the small entry way. Soon, she saw everyone. Her family, her friends, AJ's friends, family friends, and more. Soon, people began to turn toward Alexis, Alison, and Morgan. ::
:: The first to approach was Felicia Scorpio. She was a long time friend of the Quartermaine's, long before Alexis even found out she was a Quartermaine. Felicia was a petite woman, standing at 5'4 and 120 pounds. Long dirty blonde hair and a brown eyes complimented her sweet look. But nothing made Felicia stand out more then her adorable voice. As Felicia embraced Alexis with a hug, Alexis looked forward towards the front of the church, seeing the large photo of AJ (http://generalhospital.about.com/library/sod/thennow/Billy%20Warlock2.jpg) which sat next to the closed pearl white coffin. Fluttering her eyes, she pulled away from Felicia who smiled remorsefully at Alexis before proceeding to walk past her toward's Bobbie Spencer, another well known Port Charles's citizen whom Felicia was very close with. ::
:: It had been some time since Alexis had seen these people...it was actually very nice to see them again; she just wished it was under better circumstances. Stepping past a few more people, she finally saw her family, a small cluster in the center of the church. Lifting her chin, she was somewhat taken aback at the sight of them; but nevertheless, she proceeded to make her way up to them. ::
:: The first to turn and notice Alexis was her younger sister, Emily (http://a.abc.com/daytime/generalhospital/images/gallery/gh_livingston_4.jpg). Emily was adopted by the Quartermaine's under devastating circumstances when she was only 11. Helena would always give Emily a hard time, much like she did Alexis, so they always seemed to be two peas in a pod. Emily was very darling; always looking at life in a glass-half-full type of way. Her personality always seemed to brighten the dark nature of the Quartermaine's. Emily looked at Alexis and immediately hugged her. Smiling, she ran her finger's through her sister's long chocolate brown hair. ::
Emily: "I'm glad you decided to come, Lexi.."
:: Smiling, she pulled away from Emily, who had a somewhat reassuring look on her face. But Alexis could tell she was afraid of something...most likely Helena causing a scene. Turning toward Dillon (http://a.abc.com/daytime/allmychildren/images/gallery/amc_young_3.jpg), her nephew, he pulled Alexis into a hug. Dillon was always the Quartermaine who never wanted to be a Quartermaine. His mother....Helena, dictated everything in his life, and he hated it. And what he hated even more was the fact that she was so cruel to Alexis. Dillon was a dreamer; he wanted to head off to California and go to film school to become a director. Some might think of him as a bit of a film geek, he to the residents in Port Charles, and to Alexis, he was nothing more then a young man striving for his dreams. ::
:: Next was Jason (http://a.abc.com/daytime/generalhospital/images/gallery/gh_burton_4.jpg), Dillon's older brother. Jason loved Alexis, but would side with his mother on certain things. He had always been a bit distant from Alexis, more so because he really never got to know her all that well, but either way, he was civil toward her. Gently rubbing her upper arm, he nodded to Alexis, giving a half smile to her. He wasn't much of a hugger...especially in public places. Stepping past Alexis, he made his way toward some other guests. ::
:: Last but not least, was Alexis' grandfather, Edward (http://a.abc.com/daytime/allmychildren/images/gallery/amc_macdonnell_1.jpg). Edward was....well...Edward was Edward. He was an outspoken business man who loved his Brandy and never gave AJ the respect he deserved. More of "tough love" over actually love, Edward was never the one to admit he was wrong or ask for help. Much like Alexis...Looking to Alexis, Edward's hardass facial expression didn't shine light onto how he was truly feeling--guilt. Edward loved AJ and yet he always made AJ seem like he was never good enough to be a Quartermaine. In some ways, Edward felt responsible for AJ's death as well.... ::
:: These were only some of Alexis' family....The Quartermaine's. The well known, business savvy family known throughout the world. But in actuality, they were as dysfunctional as the next family. Yet they all came together for AJ's funeral–as a family. Something they didn't even consider themselves anymore. The only person that was missing from this little "reunion" was Helena. Glancing around the large group of people within the church, she couldn't see her aunt anywhere. Not a good sign usually....Turning to Dillon, Alexis softly spoke. ::
"Where's Helena?"
:: Dillon turned to Alexis and shrugged. ::
Dillon: "No clue...I haven't seen her since yesterday. But she wouldn't miss AJ's funeral...
:: Sighing, Alexis nodded to Dillon. Stepping away from him, she made her way back toward the front of the church, meeting up with Alison and Morgan once again. ::
"Helena's not here....but I’m sure she'll be making an appearance soon enough. Either way, the service will be starting shortly."

:: Cameron appeared as the black car he rented pulled up in front of the church as he stepped out of the car and dusted himself off as he simply stared at the Church. This was going to be an interesting situation. Prophet had never been to a funeral in his life before. He always thought it would cause too much strain on his powers. Hearing all the thoughts, the grief and anguish. It would just be too much. But now things were a little different. He took a deep breath and stepped inside. There was a massive sea of people who all seemed to show up for AJ's funeral. He wanted to stay away from Morgan and thankfully he found a friendly face in the crowd. His good friend Gabrielle Solis. The two had met at various parties in New York and Los Angeles. Well at least that was before she had gotten married and moved to the suburbs. He took a seat next to her and tried to calm down before the ceremony. ::
Cameron: Hey Gabrielle, I hope this seat isn't taken.. I am trying to be a little low key. I can't believe he's gone eh?
Gabrielle: Yeah, he was a good kid. And yet that horrible monster of a woman Helena is still standing. She is right up there with cockroaches and Cher. We'll never get rid of her.
:: Cameron smiled but felt this an innapropriate given the setting. He saw Alexis in the distance and waved at her to try and get her attention. He wondered if she would see. He just wanted to let her know that he was there. ::

:: As Alexis stood with her family, she noticed Cameron make his way into the church and sit down. Seeing him wave to her, a half smile appeared on her lips as she put her hand up to show that she saw him. ::
:: Everyone, except Alexis, her family, and a some family friends, were now sitting in the pus of the church. Soon, a younger minister, maybe in his early 30's, made his way up to the podium that was placed aside of the pearl white coffin. Dressed in a normal white robe, he raised both hands up to gain everyone's attention. ::
"Would everyone please take their seats."
:: Turning to look at the minister, her eyes then shifted back to her family who seemed to take each other's hands simultaneously. It was rather strange actually...the support the family seemed to radiate. Actually...not strange--comforting. As Alexis released her hand from the groups, she and the Quartermaine family began to make their way to the front set of pus and sit down. ::
:: Just as everyone was getting situation, a loud bang could be heard from the front of the church---the door had just closed rather loudly. Everyone seemed to turn toward the entry way to see who the hell was making their entrance so well known, especially in an event such as this.... ::
"Helena.."
:: Alexis whispered ::

<< Morgan had not noticed Cameron's arrival...which was a good thing asshe and Alison seated themselves on the same side as Alexis' family...sitting midway among the pews on the end of one...both looking chic and cutting edge with a look of elegant disdain. <<leaning over to Alison and whispering>>: what do you think about this crowd? i've got a bad feeling all the way around....

Standing before everyone, Helena looked very domineer and elegant...however her beauty couldn't mask her cold expression on her face. Dressed in a simple form fitting black dress that went to her knees, and a dark red knee length jacket, Helena stepped forward eyeing the people within the church. She noticed Cameron and narrowed her eyes. Shifting from Cameron to two very "Bond" like woman...it was indeed Morgan and Alison. Although she was displeased with all three of their presents, her expression did not change. However, once her eyes came upon Alexis..there was a sign of life. A single brow lifted as did her chin. Walking down the aisle toward the front of the church, she finally reached Alexis.
"I must give you credit, Alexis. I never imagined you would actually have the nerve to show up here today."
Alexis stared blankly at Helena. She stayed calm and collective...something she hadn't been since she found out AJ had died. Yet Emily, refused to stay quiet.
Emily: "Go to hell, Helena. Don't you own it? Alexis has as much right to be here as you do."
Helena glanced up at her rebellious niece, rolling her eyes. Flicking her head to the side, allowing her styled blonde locks to move past her shoulders, a hint of amusement could be seen on Hel's face.
"Well, if it isn't Saint Emily to the rescue. Shut your mouth, this doesn't concern you."
Emily glared at Helena, taking Alexis' hand. Dillon too was looking rather irritated at his mother. Of all days for Helena to cause a scene, she decides to do it at AJ's funeral.
Spectator's looked on, watching Helena confront Alexis. They all knew Alexis' wasn't Helena's favorite person, but didn't have a clue why. Alexis was well liked in Port Charles...by most. But everytime Helena and Alexis were in the same room together, it was a massive explosion of fireworks. Letting Emily's hand go, Alexis stood, eye to eye, with Helena. Helena glared straight through her.
"I'd leave immediately after the service if I were you. You don't want to be the thing that goes BUMP in the night."

"You know...you're the human equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard."
- A familiar voice said from behind Helena. Helena turned around eyeing Jax Cortlandt, Alexis' latest ex husband. Jax stood at 6'4 dressed in a clean cut black Gucci suit, tailored to fit him perfectly. His subtle Australian accent made his harsh words toward Je;ema seem light hearted and funny; yet he was compeltely serious. -
- Jax and Alexis were married for no longer then five months before they were divorced. Jax was the one husband Alexis actually loved completely. They were both still close friends, thus Jax stepping in and knocking Helena off of her high horse and stopping Helena's outburst. -
"Why don't you sit down and save this for another time, Helena. This is your nephew's funeral."

Glaring at Jax, Helena huffed, showing how truly annoyed she was. Sharply turning away from him, she pushed past Alexis and made her way to the far end of the pew, away from everyone. Sitting down, Edward looked to Helena and simply sighed. He could never control his daughter, no matter how hard he tried....yet he still loved her. Despite her flaws and her black heart.
Edward: "You and Alexis can kill each other on your own time. Just sit down and be quiet."
Well, Edward was never really the one for comforting words. He was very tough on Helena....this probably being the reason why Helena was so cold toward everyone else. She always wanted her father's approval, yet never seemed to get it. Edward was a stingy old man, only loving the aspect of having a "powerful" family and money. He was never the grandfather you would go fishing with and tell your problems to.
Helena looked to Edward and sighed. He was the only family member she would actually listen to. Well sometimes. Even Edward couldn't control Helena on a bad day. Crossing her legs, Hel's sat back and rested her hands on her lap. Looking toward Jax and Alexis she rolled her eyes before turning her attention back to the front of the church. She would finish this later.

:: Hearing Jax's voice, Alexis tilted her head to the side, looking past Helena to see her ex husband. A small smiled appeared on her lips as she watched him. He was a very handsome man, but what made him even more desirable was the fact he was extremely smart and business savvy. He came from a very wealthy family, therefore money was never a concern for the Aussie. Yet he still worked. He enjoyed the cut throat business world, and he could be just as ruthless to others as he was in the office. ::
:: Watching Helena walk past her and sit down, she turned to Jax, again smiling softly. ::
"Thanks for coming.."

::seated right beside Morgan, the two women were at the end of a pew that was mid way on the left side of the sanctuary. The two women definately looked like they had just stepped out of a spread for glamorous, chic super spy models and Alison noticed that others..mostly men were starring at them both.::
:: crossing her leg...as she carefully examined the beautifully done obituary, Alison leaned over a bit as Morgan whispered to her. she turned..her flawless, sleek, middle parted bob flowing with her head turn as she too fixed her eyes on Helena.::
::Alison and Morgan both GLARED at Helena with contempt...they would both readily fight her right here and now IF there wasnt a funeral going on..::
::whispering to Morgan:: look at her face! clearly the punch you gave her must have been healed by some other means....she's got some type of power...something to do with shape shifting...i sense that. but i dont see her doing anything to Alexis within any IMMEDIATE time threads. we just have to be ready for the immediate fall out from the funeral.

::Guardian looked around as well....but she was agitated by something other than her brother. Adrian Lockhart, who was supposed to be here, was nowhere to be found. worse yet Haleigh Davidoff was on her way...and Alexis did NOT need another shock right now. Alison shifted a bit in her seat even as the tension in the sanctuary mounted...::
::whispering to Morgan:: we've got a bigger problem. Haleigh is on her way here....i know that you know she's alive. I saw her too..she's got a new body....but her soul and her memories are in tact. Alexis isnt aware of this yet..and she DOESNT need to be confronted with it now. her psyche is fragile enough as it is.
i see things going from tense to BAD really fast if Haleigh shows up and does something stupid...in which case..i may have to temporal freeze EVERYONE here while you dispatch Haleigh with a disc and cast a memory spell.
to be honest..everything is very clouded and muddled right now..almost as if i could PICK anything to happen and it well rather than the time threads being clearly laid out. No doubt it has something to do with Helena...but for the IMMEDIATE moment...things should be fine.

:: Grasping onto Jax's hand, she held on tightly as she took her seat. The minister stood tall for a few minutes, allowing the soft murmurs of the crowd to subside. And then the service began... ::
Minister: "We are gathered here to pay last respects to Alan James Quartermaine Jr, AJ. A son, brother, cousin, father, and friend. We are stunned by his death, but find comfort in knowing that AJ has moved on. He's in a better place now."
:: Pausing for a moment, the minister looked down at the Quartermaine family which lined the first row of pews. ::
Minister: "On behalf of the family, Alexis Quartermaine, AJ's younger sister, would now like to say a few words in memory of her beloved brother."
:: Parting her dry lips, Alexis stared blankly at the large portrait of AJ that was placed aside of his coffin. Gripping Jax's hand, Alexis soon stood from the pew and slowly made her way up to the podium--her heals the only sound that could be heard in the entire building. Rounding the podium, she looked to Helena who seemed relatively calm at the fact the family nominated her to speak on behalf of AJ. ::
:: Unfolding a cream colored piece of paper, Alexis looked down at the words that she had written just a few hours prior to the funeral. The words were cold....with no emotion. She wrote what she thought she HAD to write. What she thought her family would want her to write. As she lifted her eyes from the piece of paper, Alexis slowly began to crumple it into a little ball--the sound of the paper crushing within her hand echoing throughout the church. ::
"I spent a long time putting these words together. They're all about a wonderful man on the verge of a brilliant life.....The only problem is...he never existed. So, I'm about to tell you all about the real AJ Quartermaine."
:: Gripping the ball of paper within her hand, she rested both hands on the cool wooden surface of the podium before continuing on. ::
"AJ was complicated. He could be a real pain. He made some serious mistakes, as we all have. But I have to admit that he was a first-rate partner in crime....as I’m sure a lot of you here know who are familiar with our various escapades. But despite all of that conniving, there were really only one things that AJ wanted in this life--to be a Quartermaine.....He wanted your love, your respect, your approval. And who knows, had he lived, he might just have turned out to be that son that you all wanted. I know he never stopped trying."
:: Pausing Alexis looked down away from the crowd of people. Her hands were shaking slightly, but fortunately for her, they were hidden from sight. ::
"AJ was a drunk."
:: Shaking her head. ::
"He certainly wasn't alone in that. Like a lot of members of this family, he struggled with the disease. Sometimes he won.....Other days he drank. But he never, EVER judged anyone for having the disease of addiction. In fact, the only person that AJ ever seemed to criticize, and sometimes too harshly, was himself."
:: Alexis' voice began to crack, indicating she was becoming emotional. ::
"AJ just wanted to be a good son. But overall he wanted respect. He certainly never stopped scheming of ways to do so, partly to impress you, Edward....partly to carry on the Quartermaine name. But mostly, AJ just wanted to be a good son...nephew.....brother."
:: A visible tear could be seen dropping from her blue eyes and down her cheek. Yet Alexis stayed composed. ::
"I know that AJ made some terrible choices in his life...and I think the choice that he probably regretted the most was that night that he drove drunk with his brother in the car. That was a terrible price that Jason paid, and AJ just walked away without a scratch."
:: Mostly all of the Port Charles citizens knew what Alexis was talking about.....but for those who had accompanied her today, were gaining great knowledge to who Alexis was, and who were family was. Jason suffered brain damage after AJ crashed his car into a tree....Jason was unable to remember his past, thus changing him entirely. He was distant from the family; never really accepting the fact he was a Quartermaine–wanting to live a different life. AJ felt utterly responsible for this entire ordeal...and never forgave himself. ::
"But, you know, I really think AJ never really walked away from that crash at all. I just--I really pray and hope that he has now..."
:: Alexis' eyes were glazed over with tears as she looked down upon her family. Emily was quietly crying, Dillon was in a daze, Edward looked guilt stricken....and Helena. Helena sat there without a hint of emotion to her. Looking back up at the crowd, Alexis put her finger up indicating she had one last thing to say. Her voice still cracking...still pain stricken. ::
"Oh. One more thing. He loved you, despite all the mistakes made on both sides. He really loved you more than you could know.....He'd really want me to tell you that."
:: Lifting her eyes up toward the ceiling, she tried to prevent her tears from falling...but couldn't. Lowering her head, her blonde locks shielded her face...Staying up at the podium for a few more seconds, she finally made her way around and back down to her seat. Eyeing Morgan, Alison, and Cameron before she sat down.....she just realized they learn a whole new side of Alexis. Witnessed a whole new side of Alexis. Turning, she soon sat, taking Jax's hand once again. The church was silent. ::

The Silver Rolls Royce Phantom (http://www.rolls-roycemotorcars.com/swf_images/s_pic_gallery/exterior/large_wide_p2.jpg) was the last to pull up, and Haleigh cursed. She hated being late. That incompetent pilot! She thought scathingly. She'd fired the pilot as soon as their wheels touched the ground, and then driven herself to the church. No combination of Nascar driving tactics could have gotten her here on time. She sighed, staring at the church as she parallel parked right in front of it. All the other cars had gone around to the parking lot and the doors were closed. She stepped out of her car and shut the door, smoothing out her dress and looking up at the church, the wind blowing softly, making her blonde hair dance across her face. She walked up to the church doors and eased one slightly ajar, without calling attention to herself, trying to discern whether she was a few seconds or a few minutes late. The minister was introducing Alexis to the crowd for her to say a few words. Haleigh let the door shut once more, leaning against it and thinking, deciding whether or not to slip in. It is impolite enough to show up at a funeral you weren't invited to... but to show up late... that is just uncouth.
Haleigh walked back down the stairs and hit the remote entry button on her car keys, then got back in her car and started it up. She toyed with the climate control and turned the music on low, then fixed her eyes on the church again. She wouldn't go in... she WOULD, however, wait for them to come out, and accompany the crowd to the wake. She had to prove to Cameron that she was no imposter... AND she needed to say Hello to Alexis as well... but in the mean time... she wondered what the best way to appeal to Alexis would be.... and how she would deal with Alison when the time came.

:: Cameron stood there and watched as Alexis gave a eulogy of her dead brother. He began to think of her strength of character and almost envied that she could stand up in front of her entire family, a family that had rejected her and say these words. She was stronger than he thought, but then again, he wondered how a woman so strong could be control by a mere substance like alcohol. It was strange to see the workings of the world. He leaned over to Gabrielle ::
"These people are going to eat her alive after this. I feel so bad for her.."
:: Cameron and Alexis exchanged glances and he gave her a sympathetic look. He felt so bad for her. He only wished he knew the family better, who they were and what they were like, he might be able to help her through this, but much like the journey that Cameron was now on, this was something that Alexis was going to have to go at by herself. ::

Helena watched as Alexis went up to the podium. Unaware that the family nominated HER to speak, a soft huff of air could be heard leaving Helena's mouth as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. Of all the people...
Sitting quietly as her niece began to speak, she was quite surprised at what she had to say. She didn't move her eyes from Alexis. She kept them fixated on the blonde until finally Alexis was done. Watching as she began to tear up, Helena glanced over towards the family seeing they were distraught as well...even Edward seemed to show some sign of emotion. Looking back up as Alexis made her way around the podium and to her seat, Helena actually looked sad...
Taking her father's hand, she could feel Edward squeeze it gently, making Helena look up at him. He turned towards her yet his facial expression stayed the same. However Helena could see the remorse in his eyes. A small sympathetic smile appeared on her lips, showing she actually had human emotions....
Looking back up at the front of the church, the minister soon made his way back to the podium to close the service.

- Jax watched his ex wife make her heart wrenching eulogy. The fact that she spoke from the heart instead of saying what others would expect her to say, showed how strong Alexis' character was....how strong she had become. They both had been through hell and back with their marriage. He still felt somewhat responsible, but again, the past was the past. -
- Looking toward Helena and Edward, he could see Helena was actually hurt. Even though the woman was horrible and malicious, she did have a heart, well one that was barely used. Yet Jax didn't feel any pity for her. After the hell she had put not only Alexis through, but her entire family, he somewhat felt happiness at the fact she was hurting... -
- Turning his attention back up to Alexis, she was soon finished. He looked up at her sympathetically as she fought to keep the tears from falling down her cheeks. As she stepped down from the podium, he extended his hand out to hers and gripped it tightly. As she sat, he gently caressed her leg, looking to her. He couldn't say anything that would make her feel better at this point---but he was still there for her. Looking away from Alexis, he turned his attention back up to the minister. -

Minister: "To join God and all his angels in everlasting life. In the name of the father and the son and the Holy Spirit, amen."
:: Closing her eyes.. ::
"Amen."
:: Alexis whispered as she heard everyone else in the church simultaneously say "amen.". The service was over. She had actually gotten through it. Soon, she could heard the creaking of the pews as people began to stand, and the soft chatter of voices speaking about how beautiful the ceremony was. Standing, with the assistance of Jax, Alexis smiled to him before letting his hand go.. :
"I'll meet you at the reception...I need to escort my friends."
:: Jax nodded and proceeded to make his way over to a few friends of his that were near by. Making her way through the crowds of people, some stopped and expressed their appologize for the Quartermaine's lost. Others simply nodded and smiled sympathetically. Soon, Alexis met up with Alison and Morgan. ::
"The reception's at Wyndemere....but let's not use you're mode of transportation right here...let's go outside."
:: Looking to Morgan as she said this, she of course, was speaking about the stepping disks. Although she knew mostly everyone at the service because she had lived in Port Charles for quite some time...a lot of the citizen's didn't realize herself and the Quartermaine's possessed powers. ::
:: Alexis began to walk along with everyone else toward the exit; Morgan and Alison following behind. Stepping outside, Alexis stepped down the stairs noticing a silver Rolls Royce sitting outside the church. Narrowing her eyes to try and see whomever was in the drivers seat, it seemed to be a blonde woman...but she wasn't sure. Who the hell would park outside a church during a funeral.....turning to Morgan and Alison, she nodded her head over towards the direction of a large oak tree that was next to the church. ::
"Over here."
:: Making her way over behind the tree, she waited for Morgan and Alison. As she stood there by herself for those few brief moments, Alexis took a deep breath in, feeling a huge weight being lifted off her shoulders. She didn't realize how much stress the funeral was causing her. But luckily it went smoothly. Now she just had to get through the reception and everything was in the clear. Hopefully.. ::

Haleigh looked up ubruptly from her book, slightly startled. She'd been so immersed in Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment that she hadn't noticed the service had let out until a smooth female electronic voice interrupted her music and notified her "proximity warning". People were walking right past her car to get to the parking lot. Haleigh looked up at the church steps to see who was coming out now, just in time to see Alexis, Morgan, and Alison walking out. Haleigh's sunglasses hid her eyes, dampening the withering stare she shot at Alison.
Haleigh placed her bookmark and put the small paperback into her purse again, looking through he crowd that was exiting for Cameron. He hadnt been with the Girls so he must be driving to the wake... and Haleigh wanted to talk to him BEFORE she ran into the rest of the lot at the wake anyway... it was easier to be around Morgan and Alison with reinforcements. Haleigh still needed to get both Alexis AND Alison alone... she felt they at least deserved to be formally reintroduced. Alison would be the hardest... but Haleigh was prepared for that.... Alison had always been difficult. She wondered if Alison and Morgan had taken the opportunity to tell Alexis that Haleigh was back... or if they though her to unstable to handle the news just yet... Haleigh thought it interesting that the three seemed so buddy buddy all of a sudden...

Haleigh smiled, exhaling as he hugged her. She had come in looking for him when she didn't see him in the crowd, but given him his space while he was with Gabrielle. She chuckled and spoke in his ear softly after he commented on how much they'd been through together.
"Indeed we have. I KNEW you'd believe me Stud... We're two of a kind, you and I. But to ease your mind... Imagiomg was a pain in the ass, and i recall you looking DAMN cute in your tightie whities." :D
There was no place Haleigh'd rather be, and suddenly, the stress of returning to the Six was melting away, and she felt like herself again. She tossed her blonde hair back out of her face as the wind tried to blow it about, the hem of her black silk dress swishing around her knees as she made her way down the church steps. She slipped easily into Cameron's car, mentally programming hers to follow them to the wake. She listened to Cameron's voice, a soft smile on her lips. She nodded gently, looking into her lap briefly before her now bright green eyes caught his.
"It's terrible what happened to Blaze... I only wish I could have been there to stop it.
